Alexa Bliss Captain of ‘Raw’ Women’s Survivor Series Team

Ahead of Survivor Series, slated to air Sunday, Nov. 18, Raw announced captains for Team Red. Despite the inability to compete, Alexa Bliss was named captain for the Raw Women’s Team.

This week’s Monday night Raw came straight out of the United Kingdom, and the show opened up with all the superstars lined up on the stage. Baron Corbin made his way to the ring to announce the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view, which is the only time of the year Raw faces off against SmackDown. While he announced himself as team captain of the Raw men’s team, he introduced the Raw women’s team captain as Alexa Bliss.

Bliss made her way down the ramp to the ring dressed in her business attire. Although she will be the captain, due to a concussion she suffered that prevented her from competing in Evolution, she will not be competing in the match. Seemingly, she will not be cleared for action by Survivor Series, despite working some road shows, but she vows to lead her team to victory.

The women’s team will be hand-picked by Bliss, who promises to keep a close eye on the women’s roster. Surely eager to lead, Bliss let all the women of Raw know that she will be looking for participants that will do anything to win, refusing to lose to the “B-show”. She announced a match to start the show off, a rematch from Evolution: the Riott Squad against the team of Natalya, Bayley, and Sasha Banks.

WWE announced on Twitter that, on next week’s Raw, Bliss will announce the members of her Survivor Series team.

This will be Bliss’ second year in a row not participating in the Survivor Series match. As last year’s Raw Women’s Champion, she faced off against Charlotte Flair, the SmackDown Women’s Champion.

What do you think of Alexa Bliss being named as Team Captain? Who should she pick for her team, next week? Do you think that Alicia Fox and Mickie James have their spots reserved on the team?
