Ember Moon recently commented about Bayley and Sasha Banks being double champions, criticizing WWE’s decision to have two wrestlers hold all of the WWE women’s championships while there are so many talents sitting at home.
Moon was reviewing Monday’s episode of RAW where Sasha Banks won the RAW Women’s Championship on her Twitch stream when she aired her frustrations. Moon compared the Golden Role Model’s dominance to HHH and Steve Austins ‘Two Man Power Trip’ way back in 2001 and the fact that we don’t seem to be getting Banks vs Bayley anytime soon, especially at SummerSlam.
Bayley responded to Moon’s comments in an interview with Bleacher Report this week. Here’s what she had to say on the matter.
“I can understand the frustration on the outside,” she said. “Number one, Ember Moon’s not even there and seeing everything going on. She knows how good we are, she’s been in the ring with us, she’s teamed with us. But someone’s got to do it. If not us, then who?”
“Somebody’s got to take control of this division,” Bayley added. “Someone’s got to take control of the company because no one’s stepping up to the plate, and Sasha and I have been up to bat for years and years and years. We’re knocking it out of the park. Sorry, Ember Moon, but if you want to do something about it, come do something about it.”
During the interview, Bayley addressed the ‘The-Man Power Trip’ comparisons and basked in the similarities.
“Obviously, I was a huge fan of The Two-Man Power Trip,” she said. “They’re two of the greatest separately, but when they were together because they had fought against each other so many times in the past, seeing them together was something unbelievable.”
“I was actually there when Triple H tore his quad in the ring. I was there as a fan, so it’s really cool to know now that we’re doing it and we are the first women’s duo to be holding all the gold.”
Bayley and Sasha Banks have been excellent this year and are easily the best thing in WWE right now. The fact that they are now both double champions shows that WWE knows this and has put everything behind them. Ember Moon’s comments are very valid and it would be great to see Naomi or Bianca Belair become champion. But for now, Bayley and Banks are on another level compared to anyone else on the roster. They are the most entertaining talents in WWE and deserve all of the praise and titles they have.
