The injury was said to be to her voice box and that she would miss about two weeks. Between this and the attack from Belair on Raw two weeks where she used her braid, Lynch wanted some revenge. She has returned and launched a vicious attack and garnered some payback to Belair.
Belair took on a familiar face in that of Doudrop in a one-on-one match. Doudrop had Nikki A.S.H. in her corner at ringside. As the match reached its end, Belair capitalized off of a spine buster and once again was able to execute a KOD to her opponent to get the win.
Post-match is when Lynch appeared at ringside to launch her attack. After bouncing Belair’s face off of the announce table, Lynch grabbed a steel chair and put it around the neck of Belair. The champion used Belair’s braid to hurl her along with the steel chair into the ring post. This in turn did damage to the throat of Belair. WWE has provided an update stating that Belair has “suffered trauma to the throat and is currently being evaluated by medical personnel.”
Elsewhere on Raw, with the Triple Threat for the Women’s Tag Team Championships getting closer at WrestleMania 38, Liv Morgan took on Queen Zelina in singles action. Bad luck continues for the tag champs and Zelina in particular as Morgan would pick up the win with ObLIVion. Carmella did try to help her co-champ this week by jumping up on the apron to try and distract Morgan. However, Rhea Ripley would chase Carmella as she ran into the arms of her fiance on commentary.
Additional shenanigans happened backstage with Dana Brooke and her 24/7 Championship. She is still the champion after avoiding the usual suspects including Tamina. Brooke has broken 100 days as champion and is sitting at 102 and counting combined days while in her second reign.
