Cody Rhodes responds to transphobic reactions towards Nyla Rose

Cody Rhodes hosted a media briefing for AEW earlier today. During the briefing, he spoke on the bigotry and transphobia that Nyla Rose has been receiving, especially since her title win. Rose defeated Riho to become the AEW Women’s World Champion just last week on Dynamite.

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet took part in this media call and updated Rhodes’ comments on this matter. In Satin’s tweets, Rhodes provides a way in order to end the bigotry towards Rose and transgender people and that is to give no response. By “not hitting the ball back” you take away the option for them to continue to breathe the hate.

He further comments that Rose is currently the best women’s wrestler in AEW which is why she won the title. Rhodes also addressed the reaction of former WWE talent Val Venis (real name Sean Morley) on what had to say on Nyla Rose winning. Morley has been on a tirade about her win since it happened.

Morley had the following to say in regards to Rose’s win:

These are just a few of the social media posts that Morley has been writing. Rhodes says that Morley’s words are disappointing. Furthermore, he doesn’t believe that Morley means the “terrible and awful” things he is writing. Rhodes feels like Morley is doing this for a booking.
