Mickie James Discusses Wrestling on Live TV vs. Taped, Trish Stratus, Planning for the Future

Mickie James has been pulling double duty, doing media rounds to promote both TNA live events in the New York area and her country album Somebody’s Gonna Pay.

One of the outlets she spoke to was Long Island’s NewsDay.com, with whom she discussed the differences in performing on live shows vs. taped shows, Trish Stratus and her plans for the future.

Mickie shared her anxieties about performing live at the radio stations she visits, saying: “You’re hoping that you don’t hit a wrong note. You’re wondering what people’s perception is. But everybody was bopping along, so that’s a good sign, I think.”

She then explained how she performs better when wrestling on live TV and how that translates to singing live: “I’ve always believed that I performed better under pressure. When it’s [taped], at least in the wrestling industry I find that my energy is not as full as it normally is. You’re still performing before a live audience, but sometimes it feels like there’s room to play or room for error. I want there to be no room for error. I want it to be perfect every time.”

The article also references Mickie being mentioned during Trish Stratus’s Hall of Fame speech, saying that Mickie felt “especially honored when Stratus made a point to compliment her.”

On Trish’s surprise pregnancy announcement, the article says that Mickie was, “thrilled when Stratus shocked the world and brought the MSG crowd to its feet by announcing that she was pregnant with her first child.”

When asked if Trish’s pregnancy has influenced her plans for the future, Mickie said: “I have planned my whole future, my whole life. And nine out of 10 times it never happens the way you want or plan or think it’s going to happen.”
