Banks returns to the ring for the first time since the Royal Rumble match at the end of January and she took on a familiar opponent in that of Shotzi. This would also be Shotzi’s first match since the Rumble. Before the match gets underway, Naomi’s music hits and she makes her way out to commentary.
The bell rings and Shotzi starts out with a slap to the face of Banks. Shotzi starts strong and even thwarted Banks executing the full Three Amigos by utilizing the ring ropes. The tides turn in Banks’ favor after she hits a Meteora. Banks would win the match after Shotzi taps out to the Bank Statement.
After the match, we see Naomi get into the ring with a mic to make a statement. She exclaims that everyone is looking at the next WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Two-thirds of Team B.A.D. seem to have reunited and they have gold in their sights. Carmella and Queen Zelina are the current tag team champions and last defended their titles on the Jan. 3 episode of Raw. The Women’s Tag Team Championships have not been defended on a WWE pay-per-view since last year’s WrestleMania.
Xia Li made her official in-ring debut on SmackDown this week. Li was drafted and called up from NXT during the last WWE Draft in October. Since then, she has been on SmackDown in segments and helping to protect Aliyah. Now she was able to get her hands on Natalya who had been feuding with Aliyah.
After escaping a Sharpshooter attempt by the ring veteran, Li hit Natalya with a spinning heel kick to get her first victory on the blue brand.
