Top 5 challengers for Bayley and the SmackDown Women’s Championship

It was recently reported that WWE was halted plans to have Bayley face Sasha Banks at SummerSlam for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Bayley’s championship run has been peppered with the underlying turmoil between her and “best friend” Sasha Banks. But now with plans for their feud supposedly on hold, it now leaves Bayley without any credible challengers.

Money in the Bank offered no option for the SmackDown side. At WrestleMania 36, Bayley took on and defeated the best SmackDown’s women’s division had to offer.

Bayley has defeated all that stood in her way. Lacey Evans, Naomi, Carmella, and Tamina have tried and failed to end her 200+ day title reign.

Bayley and the SmackDown women’s division for that matter is now on the hunt for the right challenger.

Lets have a looksy at some of Bayley’s potential challengers.

Let’s just get this one out of the way first.

This has match/feud has been years in the making. So long has WWE been teasing the breakup of the ‘Boss n’ Hug Connection’ many believe it will never happen.

The teasing continued during and after the match at WrestleMania, throughout the Tamina feud and still remains.

Each and every time the duo are seen together there seems to be animosity building between Bayley and Banks.

This is easily the most obvious and logical pick but WWE are an illogical company plus we have been here before with the Bayley and Banks feud back in 2018 and WWE dropped it and never spoke of it again.

The only downside to this outcome is that Bayley has become such a good heel that Banks will have to play to play the babyface role, which is not a bad thing per say but Sasha Banks excels while in the role of a heel.

The build and subsequent match feels like one that needs to be in front of a crowd, hence the slow burn and the fact that live crowds maybe a long, long way off, we may never see it. Fingers crossed.
