Asuka has met every challenger with a ferocious intensity that hasn’t been seen in NXT ever. She has now met 176 wins, according to Cageside Seats, in her more than 414 day reign as NXT Women’s Champion.

Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot, meanwhile, were in a war with each other that spilled into the title scene as soon as Asuka made her presence known to prove there is no number one contender for her title, there is no one that can end her reign. She even went as far as cheating to retain her title against Ember Moon at TakeOver: Orlando several months ago.

Tonight at TakeOver: Chicago Asuka outlasted Nikki and Ruby to retain the championship.

Things were chaotic early as Nikki and Ruby took turns coming at Asuka. Ruby would sustain the longest against Asuka as they clashed. Several times, however, Nikki would barge in and take out Asuka. She’d come for Ruby again and again.

Asuka forcefully broke them up before coming face to face with a ruthless Nikki who tripped her up in the ring apron.

Nikki focused her energy on taking out Asuka, performing an avalanche neckbreaker that stunned Asuka.

Nikki and Ruby would then team up to eliminate Asuka from the ring so they could focus on each other. They’d take each other out and Asuka would capitalize on the destruction as Ruby looked to win the championship. A shining wizard would knock Ruby out and Asuka would pin Ruby and Nikki to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.

During the match a dejected Ember would watch from the sidelines, indicating that she’s coming for Asuka.
