Beth leaving was quite a blow for the divas but to be honest everytime a diva leave we think the same thing maryse melina gail kelly beth it just sucks to see one go
But I will say it hurt when she left cuase the dream matches that could have been never happened

  • Slapavel

Ehhh, I guess beth retiring was the most important

Eeh, I dunno, I’d rank SDR signing (even if it’s just as a trainer) as bigger. Beth’s, and even Kelly’s, retirement were kinda…written on the wall. Kelly’s retirement’s impact as a story, especially, wasn’t helped by the period of “will she/won’t she” that just became more inevitable the longer it went on.

SDR coming in, meanwhile, is the biggest sign that somebody is watching and somebody is paying attention and somebody is taking steps to improve things.

As an aside, I don’t see a couple of other current “main show” Divas as sticking around much longer, either.

Huh, I truly didn’t expect Sara’s new story would make it this high. Thats a nice change of pace. Still think she should have won though.

    • Rhawk

But I’d say the right four were chosen overall, expect I actually think Kharma’s release should have been a choice here instead of the WTF award, that would have been a better winner imo.

Hearing the news that Sara Del Rey signed with WWE was like angels singing in heaven! Lol. Shame it won’t be in front of the camera at the moment but imagine what she can teach the girls. <3 Sara we love you! <3

    • pumped up kicks

I’m holding out hope that wwe will call her up to work a program with one of the girls! Even if its just 1 program that last like 2 or 3 months, i’ll be happy :)

    No AJ. ;(

    • Lanoom

That’s because this is for logistical, real world news with the companies and workers, not storylines.

Personally I would have gone with Vince Russo leaving TNA. I think that has had the biggest impact on mainstream women’s wrestling this year. The Knockouts product has been drastically different since Russo left and the new creative team took over.

I remember the period when mainstream women’s wrestling was getting exciting again around late 2010. The Knockouts had that great cage match, and the Divas responded with a great tables match. Unfortunately things have really regressed since then. It doesn’t seem like there’s anyone in power in either promotion that really wants to spotlight women’s wrestling anymore.

Hopefully with both WWE and TNA’s ratings plumetting, the people in charge will try something different and give the women better opportunities to steal the show (and for goodness sake, drop the terrible ‘you can’t look better than the men’ rule). There’s a ton of great talent in both companies, it’s just a shame that they’re not given the attention by the writers that they deserve.

    • Rhawk

Forget mainstream womens wrestling, try all of wrestling in general! ;-)

But even still, its hard not so see that TNA has fallen in terms of how much they care for their knockouts, and some changes are need in both WWE & TNA. Although even with the ratings dropping (WWE) and them staying the same level as they always have (TNA), I doubt anything will change in terms of how the women are treated. Hopefully either or both companies can prove us wrong on that.

I voted for K2 released…I was kinda expecting that(everyone was)but still one of the most popular divas getting released is a news story for me.

  • Marlon Eric

Sara Del Ray signing because I never thought she’d sign in a million years. Even as a trainer. Beth Phoenix was shocking as well but since I don’t really give a shit about her, whatever. Kelly Kelly was surprising as well.

  • VelvetLoveFan

Of course wwe won..yet again. Obviously we all know what I voted for, lol
But Kelly was way more shocking than Beth too

  • aldo

After all the years in the WWE, and having accomplished too much in WWE, hearing Beth Phoenix was leaving was really shocking. Well, but that’s probably because I’m a fan (:
