Dana Brooke talks about how she considered leaving WWE

The latest episode of Lilian Garcia’s Chasing Glory podcast features a true underdog. After months of interest in appearing as a guest, Dana Brooke finally took the time to share her story.

After receiving the first championship match of her career, she opened up about her determination, which reveals her true grit. She talked about both
her personal and professional struggles. The biggest takeaway was how she came out on the other side stronger.

Brooke divulged all the ideas she has pitched in regards to her character. Her goal was always just to try to get a spot on television. She mentioned she would love to take on any role, even if it wasn’t an actual match.

Naturally, she got emotional when she didn’t make the Fastlane card because the event was in her hometown. Prior to the event, her match with Natalya was cut from an episode of RAW. With mounting frustrations, this was nearly the straw that broke the camels back.

“We got in the ring, we rehearsed, and we had our match together, everything. Then I see the run sheet and I’m like what are you talking about we’re not on? And that just ripped my heart out of my chest. And then I think is it personal reasons. Am I not good enough? Do they not believe in me? I will never forget I almost walked out of work that day.”

Afterward, Dana explained how she overcame the desire to quit and learned to appreciate that obstacles she has endured .

Other topics include Dana Warrior’s mentorship, how she found out about her segment with Ronda Rousey, the injury she suffered in their match, and the loss of her boyfriend.
