The WWE Draft is here and will be taking place on the next episodes of SmackDown [Oct. 1] and RAW [Oct. 4]. Since 2016, NXT has taken part in the draft in some years but as outgoing talent only as call ups to the main roster have taken place. This year it hasn’t formerly been announced they will partake, but it is being reported as such.
Andrew Zarian of MatMen Podcast states he is hearing that NXT will be involved and to expect a few call ups. He didn’t name any names as he stated in another Twitter post that things can always change about who they will be.
With NXT being rebranded as NXT 2.0 and focusing on newer and fresher talent, a few call ups would be expected. Prior to WWE going back on the road, the company started to have some NXT talent take part in some Dark Matches. Of those, names such as Shotzi, Tegan Nox, and Toni Storm have joined the main roster. A few others such as Aliyah, Xia Li, Kacy Catanzaro, Scarlett, and Dakota Kai have all participated in these matches. Some of these names have already been off NXT TV for quite some time.
NXT has ushered in many fresh faces over the past few weeks. Tonight’s show is being advertised as “all about the ladies” as we already have three women’s matches, a debut talk show, and the InDex honeymoon to look forward to.
Check back in with Diva Dirt for an NXT Discussion Post tonight and a rundown of the upcoming draft as it happens.
