It's okay to look -- SmackDown has returned to form! Hurrah! After an iffy week with not much going on last week, this week's show was infinitely better with the blonde babyfaces proving the Divas moniker to be true -- they were smart, they were sexy and oh yes, they were powerful! You'd expect little else from the Glamazon Beth Phoenix... but Tiffany? Tiffany?! I was not expecting anything out of the former ECW GM upon reading the spoilers for this week but Tiffany girl, consider my eyes opened. Tiff Tiff shocked the hell out of me with her rather ...
As professional wrestling's Future Legend, Melissa Anderson has wowed crowds in ChickFight, SHIMMER, NCW Femme Fatales and in other promotions worldwide. In TNA, we came to know and love her as the mysterious Raisha Saeed before catching another side of her as Alissa Flash. As Saeed, Melissa managed Awesome Kong to two Knockouts Title reigns and in just a few short months as Flash, Melissa gave us great matches with the likes of Sarita and Hamada before she disappeared from television in late 2009. When we broke the news of Alissa's TNA departure in January, fans were incredibly upset to see ...
After last week's moving tribute to womankind, I was bracing myself for the worst with this week's show. Surprisingly, the WWE decided to put on a straight wrestling match rather than mold the Divas action to guest GM Criss Angel's gimmick, and for that I'm grateful. But was the match anything to write home about? Let's see: Eve Torres, Gail Kim and Kelly Kelly make their way to the ring for a 6-Diva Tag Team match. I guess it's been a while since we've seen one of those, though I haven't really missed them.. Already in the ring are Maryse, Alicia ...
Tonight was a historic night for wrestling as round two of the Monday Night Wars kicked off and in grand fashion for both the Divas and Knockouts in my opinion. Both shows featured tag team action but on Impact we got a treat. With Awesome Kong basically done in TNA, the question has remained: "What's going to happen with the Knockouts Tag Team Championships?" We got our answer and in spectacular fashion. Missing in action Knockouts Taylor Wilde and Sarita returned to television to take on The Beautiful People (Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky) and the team of Angelina Love ...
She made her debut as the lip-synching popstar, Kandi Kisses on the first ever episode of Wrestlicious TakeDown this past week and she's here to tell us all about it, we catch up with the gorgeous Lizzy Valentine. We get Lizzy's reaction to the first episode, find out about her character and get her thoughts on some of the negative reaction the show has gotten. We also learn discuss Lizzy's time in TNA in 2003 as well as her one-night only return last December, plus what was it like working with WWE's Evan Bourne in Wrestling Society X? Read on ...
The Beautiful People’s Lacey Von Erich will report to Mach One Wrestling (also known as M1) in California today to begin extensive training in wrestling. The TNA Knockout wrote on her Facebook page that she will attend training three times a week under a new deal struck between M1 and TNA. She writes:
I start training this Saturday, three times a week! Can’t wait to get in the ring more!
The company will send stars to the facility as it’s official training ground and Von Erich, who debuted in September, looks to be the school’s first student from TNA.
Despite debuting in September, Lacey hasn’t been seen in the ring that much due to her greenness. She is still expected to be part of TNA tapings.
Von Erich will also make her debut on Wrestlicious TakeDown next week teaming with her fellow Beautiful People team mate, Madison Rayne [as Amber Lively] in the main event. Of course, this was taped before Lacey joined TNA and The Beautiful People and just happens to be a coincidence.
Former WWE Diva, Maria Kanellis is moving into MMA. HDNet’s Inside MMA show announced earlier tonight that Kanellis will join the broadcast team for promotion, King of the Cage.
Kanellis will make her debut on April 17th’s Underground 54 event which will air live on HDNet. A press release on Maria’s appointment is due Monday.
Is WWE’s loss MMA’s gain?
More women’s wrestling is coming to your TV screens in 2010… kinda! Women Superstars Uncensored is to launch its own TV series, ‘UNCENSORED’ to air in Canada and online.
The 15 minute weekly show will not feature any matches, rather give fans behind the scenes access to the WSU stars. The show is set to debut in April on the Fight Network and online via InASecTV.com.
WSU issued the following on their website:
“UNCENSORED” will not be your standard wrestling show. “UNCENSORED” will give you behind-the-scenes access at WSU events and will open the doors to the people & stars of WSU. Each episode will be 10-15 minutes, and not only will the episodes air on the FIGHT network in Canada, but they will also be available online at InASecTV.com
WSU does not want to mislead our fans. This will not be a regular TV show with matches. This show is being designed to complement the WSU DVD series. This show will be used to feature WSU stars in ways you’ve never seen them before. The show will also be short, as we do not want to burn out our fans and we want every minute to be explosive.
WSU is aware other indy companies promise big things with their TV deals. WSU wants to let everyone know that this is just one step in the right direction. We are not promising to change the world, but we plan on offering free entertainment to you, 10-15 minutes a week through “UNCENSORED”. This deal is a deal that hopefully will give WSU more notice and notoriety. We are not trying to compete with anyone nor are we pretending that we are reinventing the wheel. “UNCENSORED” will simply be a show that will give everyone the inside scoops and latest news in WSU.
WSU is a company that supports itself through footage (DVD/VOD) sales. Instead of full matches airing on “UNCENSORED”, fans will be able to get to know the wrestlers, see what it is like to be a wrestler and understand the importance of many matches in WSU. New concepts will be implemented during the course of “UNCENSORED”.
WSU will continue to offer the very best and quality women wrestling shows through our live events & DVDs. “UNCENSORED” will be the show to understand & appreciate the hardest working women in professional wrestling today. Each episode of “UNCENSORED” will be used to promote future WSU events, future WSU Title Matches & give you all the latest on-goings in WSU.

April 14th marks the 5 year anniversary of Melina’s WWE debut, and we here at Diva Dirt want to commemorate that with an audio special akin to what we recently did for Maria, but this time we’ll be looking at Melina’s career through your eyes. What are your favorite Melina moments? They can extend back to her days before the WWE or be as recent as last year. In the comments below, share your favorite moments of Melina’s career (thus far) and we’ll be sure to include them in our tribute.
Why are we doing this for Melina, as opposed to any other Diva? Well, this is a special personal project for me, as I have known Melina personally for almost 8 years now. I used to run her official website and have known her from her early indy days, so I know fully well that this career milestone is a big deal for her. Thus, I would love to honor her with some special fan appreciation. It’s an “anniversary gift”, if you will. So, if you’re a fan of Melina, please be a part of this and help us commemorate her 5 years in the WWE!

It’s okay to look — SmackDown has returned to form! Hurrah! After an iffy week with not much going on last week, this week’s show was infinitely better with the blonde babyfaces proving the Divas moniker to be true — they were smart, they were sexy and oh yes, they were powerful! You’d expect little else from the Glamazon Beth Phoenix… but Tiffany? Tiffany?! I was not expecting anything out of the former ECW GM upon reading the spoilers for this week but Tiffany girl, consider my eyes opened. Tiff Tiff shocked the hell out of me with her rather great in-ring debut on SmackDown — perhaps one of the better ones in recent years from the model-types.
This week’s action kicked off with Tiffany backstage with Teddy Long. Vickie Guerrero comes in and tries to put Tiffany in her place but Teddy tells Vickie that Tiff’s here to be a Diva in the women’s division, not a GM. Going all the way back to Tiffany’s first night as GM on ECW, I thought her acting was more convincing here — she’s improved. Still though, and this is probably the same for most of the Divas, she isn’t great.
Next we have Tiffany making her in-ring debut against Michelle McCool as ordered by Guerrero.
McCool makes her entrance first with Vickie now joining the Simply Flawless team and awkwardly taking part in their entrance. Next out is the newest Diva, Tiffany and for a second I had to wonder if I was watching the right show. She seriously looked like something fresh out of Wrestlicious. With that ring attire and music she comes across as a cliched character on TakeDown. It’s hard to take the girl seriously when she looks like that, I really hope she finds a decent ring attire with some pants or shorts soon.
As Tiffany approaches the ring, some nice expressions from Michelle with her looking bored and uninterested in the new Diva. McCool, taking Tiffany lightly, mocks her skirt [thank you!] and tries to intimidate the former ECW GM by shoving her down to the canvas. Tiffany jumps straight back up but McCool again mocks the Diva by taking a time up for some press ups. Tiffany runs at McCool surprising her with her feistiness and throws a few jibes of her own at the Women’s Champ. Michelle walks into a nicely executed atomic drop by Tiffany followed by two impactful clotheslines. Already, I’m impressed. Frankly, I was expecting a flimsy kind of Kelly-esque moveset from Tiffany with less than believable clotheslines but Tiffany’s clotheslines connected and they connected hard. She looked powerful and dominant which is great when you need to choreograph and sell your moves. Perhaps her background in power lifting helps? Tiffany then goes for a low dropkick on Michelle, kind of jumping in the air to execute it. Hmm, it looked a little odd but again, it connected and looked believable which is already the antithesis of some of the ‘model’ girls we see on Raw. Tiffany then kicks Michelle through the ropes and then somewhat surprisingly, jumps right out of the ring herself and goes after the champ some more! Gotta love that aggression. More after the cut »

This past weekend, all-female promotion Womn Superstars Uncensored very deservingly inducted three former WWE Divas into its Hall of Fame — ECW original Dawn Marie as well as two-time Women’s Champions, Jazz and Molly Holly. The event took place before WSU’s third anniversary show in New Jersey and was said to have been a great night.
Fellow women’s wrestling site Lethalwow was on the scene and sent along this video of several WSU stars celebrating the trio’s inductions including TNA Knockout, Angelina Love. The clip also has some footage of the indcutees in the ring with their Hall of Fame plaques.
I’m sure you’ll agree, three very deserving women and I’m truly happy for each of them. Congratulations!

WWE.com has a gallery up featuring a selection of what they consider the best WrestleMania ring attire won by the Superstars and Divas. Only one Diva makes the cut but it just so happens to be the A-Lister — Melina.
This attire was won during WrestleMania 23 when Melina defended the Women’s Championship against Ashley Massaro.
What do you think? Worthy of best dressed at ‘Mania?
We’ll be ripping spinning off our own version of this idea with a complete Diva best dressed at ‘Mania guide soon!
