... Maryse! In a flip-flop of last year's top two, the two time Divas Champion has replaced Melina at the apex of this year's 50 Sexiest Divas countdown, thwarting the current Divas Champion's chances of a three-peat. Maryse was last year's #2, narrowly coming behind Melina and this year, narrowly beating Melina. In 2008, she ranked at #15 on the countdown. This year's chart saw more votes than ever. 15,000 votes were cast over the course of the competition. Also making the top 10 is Mickie James, holding onto her #3 spot from last year, despite being released earlier this year. Mickie's charting ...
After weeks and weeks of pointless speculation, outlandish theories, and minor spoilers from other Knockouts, Tara finally showed her actual face on TNA television again. Absolute SHOCK reigned supreme in the Impact Zone and I'm sure I wasn't the only person scratching my head at the dramatic turn of events! The announcers even seemed amazed. I mean hello! Tara is back and she's helping the woman who ended her career no less! It's mind boggling. It's truly baffling. It's more confusing that a statistical lecture in an 8am psychology class. It's TNA! And in TNA, things don't have to make ...

Former TNA Knockouts Champion, Tara (Lisa Marie Varon), took part in a video interview with ChicagoNow’s Geek To Me blog during Chicago Wizard World a couple of weeks ago. Watch below:
Really fun, personable interview with Lisa. She has a great, humorous personality. It’s a shame we didn’t get to see more of this side of her incorporated into her babyface TNA character.

Independent wrestler, Christina Von Eerie posted the following pictures on her Twitter page from a photoshoot with TNA photographer, Lee South, which were taken last week.
As we previously reported, Von Eerie had a tryout with TNA last Tuesday. Check out the pictures below:

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has a piece in its latest issue regarding WWE’s decision to produce an all Divas season of NXT 3. Read the details below:
The announcement of an abbreviated third season of NXT, which starts on 9/7, will be an all women’s show.
The lame duck show on Syfy will end its season on 10/1, with a live show in Oklahoma City as part of a three-hour WWE live block that will include the station’s debut of Smackdown.
The decision to go all women must have been made very recently, because they had been filming 12 wrestlers at FCW, eight men and four women, for the season. At the time the idea was four men and four women in the short season, but it was changed instead to six women.
Part of the reason is both a hope that perhaps the show will do better ratings with women and they can get a television deal with another station out of it, or the freak show aspect with Aloisia can build up ratings to where Syfy will change its mind and renew the show.
Another aspect revolves around unhappiness with many of the women on the roster and looking for replacements. Apparently the talent relations side was upset with the behavior of several of the current women in recent weeks, particularly when much of the roster was stationed in Los Angeles for the week of SummerSlam. While the publicized problems got out involving Tiffany (suspended indefinitely for a fight with her husband, Drew McIntyre, that wound up with her getting arrested), and the behavior of Serena, they were apparently not the only ones who made scenes in public that didn’t get out, and the company right now is very strict regarding the image its wrestlers show to the public because of promises to corporate sponsors about a wholesome company image.
With the announcement of the cast last night, there’s already been a backlash from most wrestling fans claiming that an all women’s show is doomed. However, until the show airs next week and the ratings come out, it’s too early to judge in my opinion. Looking back at the 2006 Diva Search finale that aired on USA Network (with Layla crowned winner), that scored a respectable 1.0 rating. Meanwhile, last December’s New Year’s Knockout Eve also scored a 1.0.
If WWE can go in a direction where the show really delivers on the entertainment factor, a la Bravo’s ‘Real Housewives’ (which delivered record ratings on Monday night), I think the show could catch onto fans even outside of the wrestling sphere too.

Ashley Valence, who is more often than not missing in action, is in the ring tonight and she starts us off by introducing the pros. MVP, Zach Ryder, John Morrison, Mark Henry, and Cody Rhodes walk out and take their seats. Following that, The Miz struts out and announces his rookie, Alex Riley. Michelle McCool and Layla are up next and they announce Kaval. Kaval walks out and holds his arms out, which the girls gladly take and kiss him on the cheek. Finally, Kofi Kingston walks out. He announces Michael McGillicutty. All the finalists are in the ring and Matt Striker is in a freakin’s suit! Talk about sexy!
Striker motions to the front row where the eliminated rookies are sitting. Titus O’Neil, Eli Cottonwood, Lucky Cannon, Percy Watson, and Husky Harris are all introduced to the crowd. Striker reminds us all that the winner will not only be the next breakout star, but they’ll also earn a championship match on pay-per-view. Striker teases us some more and tells the three rookies that they will all be in action tonight; in a triple threat match against one another! Things start breaking down with Kaval shoving The Miz. Alex and Michael start going at one another, with Kofi jumping into the fray and clotheslining Miz over the top rope. Alex ends up out of the ring as well and Kaval spites Miz by holding up the United States Championship.
The cameras go to Josh Mathews and Michael Cole who launch into a discussion about Season Three beginning next week. And guess what diva fans, Season Three is going to consist of nothing but diva rookies! More after the cut »

Based on Syfy’s scheduling for NXT season three, it looks like this may be a ‘mini-season’ of five weeks. NXT will wrap up its run on Syfy on October 1st, the same day that SmackDown premieres on the network.
Unless the show moves to another network or online at WWE.com after October 1st, NXT 3′s season finale will air prior to the SmackDown premiere.
Here’s the tentative schedule:
- Tuesday, September 7th at 10pm ET (season premiere)
- Tuesday, September 14th at 10pm ET
- Tuesday, September 21st at 10pm ET
- Tuesday, September 28th at 11pm (one hour pushback)
- Friday, October 1st at 7pm ET (season finale)
With talk that the SmackDown season premiere will live on Oct. 1st, it’s conceivable that the NXT finale could be live also at 7pm.
In case anyone was wondering what that catchy little tune was during the NXT 3 promos last night, it was ‘Make the Rain Fall’ by Kevin Rudolf. Looks like this will be the theme song for NXT 3 which begins next Tuesday on Syfy.
Rudolf’s previous singles have also been used by WWE. ‘Let It Rock’ was used as the theme for Royal Rumble 2009 while ‘I Made It’ was one of the themes for WrestleMania 26 earlier this year.

Thanks to Cara & MikeChrisH for the tip.
TNA will be serving up an on-demand Knockouts special on pay per view next month, according to Mike Johnson at PWInsider.
The company is branching out into offering taped specials on PPV on a monthly basis, with the first being a Knockouts special called, ‘TNA Wrestling Knockouts: Mad Sexy Volume 1′.
Johnson notes that the special will be hosted by Christy Hemme and feature past Knockouts matches featuring the likes of Angelina Love, Gail Kim and Velvet Sky.
