SmackDown Redux (August 27th, 2010): Goodbye Serena (For Now)
There's really not much to talk about this week in the SmackDown Redux because there wasn't any Divas action. Sorry Lay-Cool fans! Instead, you can get your fix of those two Monday night on Raw.
Tonight's episode of SmackDown, however, was Serena's final appearance on WWE television. Shortly after this episode was taped last Wednesday, Serena was informed of her release. The news broke this past Monday and quite eerily, it makes Serena's final moments all the more poignant:
After picki...
SmackDown Redux (August 20th, 2010): Straight Edge Success, “Lady Wawa”
This week's SmackDown saw the WWE television in-ring debut of one Serena, a Diva who has been much buzzed about ever since she was signed to a developmental contract last year. Why? Because Serena, prior to WWE, was one of the most talented young things on the independent circuit and shot to the top of the card in SHIMMER. The time has finally arrived for Serena to step into the WWE ring in a mixed tag also featuring Kelly Kelly.
As background context to this segment, in an earlier backst...
WWE Superstars Redux (August 12, 2010): Predator and Prey

Natalya and The Hart Dynasty have been working the Australian tour with the SmackDown brand this past week. As a reminder to readers, as Unified Tag Team Champions, the Dynasty can work both Raw and Smack...
Fan Report from SmackDown Show in Sydney, Australia
Diva Dirt reader Nick attended the SmackDown live event in Sydney, Australia last night and sent in this report:
The Hart Dynasty def. The Straight Edge Society.
During the match Natalya powerslamed Joey Mercury and took out Serena which by far got the biggest pop of the night.
Layla def. Kelly in a slow, sloppy match.
Not a lot of actual wrestling, Kelly came out with a pyro though. Before the match started, Layla started spraying the deodorant yelling "Smelly Kelly" and doing stupid w...
SmackDown Redux (July 30th, 2010): She’s Insatiable, But She’s Not Champ…
This week's Friday Night SmackDown boasted a big Women's Championship match between Layla and Tiffany. When spoilers hit the web this past Tuesday of a swerve, well quite frankly, it should have come as no surprise. WWE has a habit of advertising one thing and delivering another. Instead, we get Michelle McCool defending the Women's Title against Tiffany.
In a less than 8-minute segment, it sure is funny just how much they crammed in... Watch below:
We open with the challenger walk...
Mr. Glamazon’s Hitting the Ropes – Issue #13
Diva Dirt’s own Jennifer recently shared a great story:
In an interview I had a few weeks ago, we were asked, ‘If money was no question, and if you didn’t have to work for your livelihood, what would you do?’ My hand shot up. I was honest; I said, ‘I’d wrestle.’ The whole room erupted into laughter. The interviewer said, ‘Really?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I would love to wrestle.’ She thought I was the most interesting person in that interview, hah. I make no apologies – I’l...
