Former WWE Diva and four-time Women's Champion, Lita reacted to her Woman of the Decade win last month on her radio show, Punkrockalypse earlier tonight. Lita -- real name Amy Dumas -- mentioned that she was left a lot of messages about her win and seemed surprised that she won, according to a listener who tweeted us about the mention. The former Women's Champion gave her thanks and joked that she wouldn't mind a gift card for Starbucks as an award. A podcast for the show should be avail...

  • The Art of the Diva Comeback

Former Divas Champion, Maryse is set to return next Monday night in what will likely end up as one of the worst kept secrets in forever, but the real question is: How will WWE pull it off? The company hasn't had a great track record with the 'Diva comeback'. Most of them have been rather boring and as with most things Diva, probably took around 30 seconds to write. There was a time when comebacks were genuinely exciting and perhaps the best example of this is Lita's return in 2003, saving...
  • Saturday Supplement: What’s in a Name?
Posted by Erin on August 29th, 2009

In the Saturday Supplement, the Diva Dirt team will aim to discuss a news story, a televised event or other relevant and current topics. The objective, like the average weekend newspaper, is to offer more indepth and lengthy discussion. With last week's debut of Courtney Taylor I thought, amongst other things, how awful that name was. But let's be honest--for a girl that used to be named Wesley Holliday, you can only go "up" in the name department. That thought led me to think of how and wh...
  • An Ode to Eve: A Look at Other Diva Moonsaults (Kinda!)

Former Diva Search winner, Eve Torres has mystified fans by adopting a unique spin on the moonsault as her finisher. When I first saw it, my jaw dropped and on the two occasions she's busted it out, it's been perfection! The exciting move came as a shock from such a Diva -- I mean Eve's not exactly known for her in-ring prowess. But it only takes only one move to wow fans and Eve is bound to turn heads & be taken a little more seriously with her fierce handspring moonsault. Watch Eve'...

Three months after the fact, people are still talking about the trainwreck that was WrestleMania 25 [seriously, we need to name that shit -- WrestleManiagate? Comment with your suggestions!] on April 5th. The latest Diva to weigh in is former four time Women's Champion, Lita - real name Amy Dumas - in an interview with ChangeTheRecord.net: Faye: Were you invited to take part in the 25-Diva Battle Royal at WrestleMania 25, this year? If so, why did you turn it down? Amy: Did you see that ma...

Diva Dirt is dusting off an old classic, which just so happens to dust off old classics itself. Welcome back to YouTube Classics! Everyday (read: whenever we feel like it) we'll be posting a classic Divas match/segment/moment from our trusty friend, YouTube! Today we have a video that I happened to stumble upon, between two Divas I didn't know had even wrestled each other before but the evidence is below! It's Candice vs Lita: ...
  • Your Morning Quickie: Divas & Knockout News

There's a bunch of Divas and Knockout news that has made its way online, but each tidbit is not really big enough news to warrant an entire post. That said, I thought I'd post a potentially new feature called a News Quickie to keep all our devoted Diva Dirt fans well-rounded in their news. - At the WrestleMania weekend Axxess events, it was noted that Raw Diva Candice Michelle was asked about her return to the ring. She reportedly shot down the rumors of her release again and said that sh...
  • Should WWE Hire a Female Commentator?

WrestleMania is over and it's time to get back to business. Well as you may or may not have heard, we have an opening in the announcing teams! SmackDown colour commentator, Tazz left the company last week leaving JR short a partner. It had been expected that after retiring last night, JBL would take up the position but in his farewell blog at WWE Universe, he denied he'd be staying with WWE. So JR needs an announce partner... Who else could it be? It got me wondering, what if we had a female ...
