Allie written off Impact in controversial death scene

Allie

Last night, the latest AEW signee, Allie, ended her time with Impact in dramatic fashion. In her final appearance, her character was killed off when Su Yung stabbed her in the neck.

The “Against All Odds” special was the culmination of the Demon storyline. Rosemary brought Allie to “The Undead Realm” to save her soul. In the end, she sacrificed herself to save Rosemary, suffering a bloody death at the hands of Su Yung. The act of love reunited her with soul, making her whole again.

As previously reported, All Elite Wrestling confirmed Allie signed with the promotion in a recent episode of “Road to Double or Nothing.” This was the last of her tapings with Impact after they decided not to renew her contract. However, this goes to show there was no animosity here.

Allie even went to Twitter to express her satisfaction with how her time with the company ended.

https://twitter.com/AllieImpact/status/1111846943242809344

There is some mixed reaction among fans, but this indicates how much Impact valued her contributions to the promotion. Wrestlers don’t always get a proper send-off, so it’s telling that they took the time to write her off and wrap up her story with Rosemary.

What did you think of “Against All Odds”? Are you excited to see what Allie will does next AEW? Drop a comment below.

Madison Rayne on Scarlett Bordeaux and returning to Impact

Madison Rayne spent a year-and-a-half with Ring Of Honor, before being released. One day after her release from ROH, as previously reported, Rayne returned to her home at Impact Wrestling.

During a media press call, Nick Hausman asked Rayne why she returned to Impact, and what made the promotion different than other promotions. Quote transcriptions provided by Wrestling Inc.

“The main difference goes back to my personal feeling that Impact is home. I’ve been given a lot of creative freedom at Impact in the last 3-4 years.

Impact Wrestling is home for me and I’ve said many times how grateful I am for every opportunity that last year gave to me, including Impact Wrestling. But all of my appearances last year here, none of them were under contract – it was just a short visit.

At the end of the day, I have written so many chapters in my career, I have quite a few left to write, but I want to make sure those are written here at home with Impact Wrestling.”

Hausman also noted that newer Knockouts addition Scarlett Bordeaux seem to fit in with gimmicks from early in the women’s revolution. She was asked by Hausman if Bordeaux would fit in with the “Beautiful People”.

“Scarlett’s a character and it goes back to my love for the theatrical aspect of what Impact Wrestling brings to the table. I appreciate what Scarlett does for the company. She brings a level of sex appeal…and has no shame in showing her sex appeal.

But she’s also an athlete, so I’m starting to wonder if all of these vignettes aren’t a bit of smoke and mirrors to distract us from the fact that she actually is a competitor.”

Readers can view the entire article from Wrestling Inc. here. See the entire press media call in the video above.

Impact will stream United We Stand on Twitch, live from Rahway, New Jersey on April 4.

ICYMI: Taya Valkyrie’s street fight defense vs. Tessa Blanchard

In case you missed it, Impact Wrestling aired its Uncaged event; which was essentially a free pay-per-view show. The show itself was headlined by Johnny Impact’s Four Way title defense, but the big takeaway coming out of the event is its opening title match. That match was a Street Fight between Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie and the challenger, Tessa Blanchard.

The match served as Taya’s very first title defense since winning the title at Homecoming last month. It was only fitting that her first defense was not only against the former champion who she beat for the belt, but a woman who she’s been embroiled in a bitter rivalry with since September.

The match is being hailed as an early contender for Match of the Year and with good reason. Both Knockouts traded slaps, chops, spears and chair shots for several minutes until Taya stomped Tessa through a table to retain her Knockouts Championship.

In case you missed it, Impact posted a Top 5 highlight reel of the match’s most insane moments to their YouTube page. Check out the video above.

New episodes of Impact Wrestling can be viewed every Friday night at 10 p.m. ET/PT either on the Pursuit Channel or on Impact’s Twitch livestream.
