STARDOM and Donna del Mondo superstar Syuri ended her magnificent 2021 capturing the Wonder of STARDOM title ending Utami’s amazing 409-day title reign.
Syuri challenged Utami for the title for the second this year after their first breathtaking encounter ended in a double KO. To make sure a definitive winner emerged from their clash at Stardom Dream Queendom in Tokyo, Japan was a No Time Limit match.
Syuri and Utami have great chemistry together as proven in their previous clashes, but this match may have topped their critically acclaimed June match. The two took each other to their absolute limits delivering insatiable offence, which left the viewer open-mouthed and astonished.
Syuri would close out one of the best years in wrestling history with a win over the seemingly indestructible champion Utami to finally win the Red Belt.
The World of STARDOM Championship wasn’t the only title to change hands on the promotion’s final show of the year.
Saya Kamitani defeated Tam Nakano for the Wonder Of STARDOM title in another fabulous match. Kamitani, who also had an excellent 2021 dethroned Nakano with a Phoenix Splash ending her 302-day reign in the process.
The third and final title change came when Hanan bested Ruaka for the Future of STARDOM Championship.
The rest of the card saw the return of Giulia who defeated Konami, Donna del Mondo’s Himeka, Maika & Natsupoi successfully defended the Artist Of Stardom titles against the Cosmic Angels’ Mai Sakurai, Mina Shirakawa & Unagi Sayaka.
Starlight Kid defeats AZM and Koguma to retain the High Speed Championship and finally, Mayu Iwatani and Takumi Iroha beat Hazuki and Momo Watanabe in tag team action.
STARDOM returns to action in the new year on Jan 3rd and Jan 5th at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16 for a special and historical match as it is the first STARDOM match taking place at NJPW’s flagship event to be shown on NJPW World.
