Valentina Feroz On Being New To Wrestling When Arriving In NXT

Valentina Feroz is one of the many new promising WWE Superstars currently on its NXT roster. Originally going by her real name, Rita Reis, Feroz joined WWE in 2019 to take part in its developmental NXT brand. She would go on to work several live shows before those came to a halt in early 2020.

Her first singles match on NXT programming was against Mercedes Martinez in December 2020. Feroz has gone on to build up her presence through the past year and a half and has joined forces with another promising talent, Yulisa Leon, as they have formed an impressive tag team.

While speaking with Quetzalli Bulnes on WWE En Espanol Show “El Brunch,” Feroz admits to not knowing anything about wrestling before signing with WWE. Her background comes from Judo and Jujitsu.

“When I arrived at NXT, I did not know anything about Pro-Wrestling. I knew about Judo, I knew about Jujitsu, and that was really good for me. I learned everything here, from how to fly, how to work a punch, learning how to be a character, and how to be a great wrestler. I am all doing my preparation in the biggest wrestling company in the world. For me, this was something to have pride in, as I am learning more and more every day, especially as a part of a tag team (with Yulisa Leon), and, personally, I keep trying to improve in order to represent all of us (Latinos) and we want to go to the top, and I and Yulisa are working hard to do so. As Yulisa always says, it can be done and there is no impossible when we have faith, courage, and determination to get where we want to be.” [h/t – Fightful]

The team of Feroz and Leon participated in the 2022 Dusty Rhodes Classic Tournament in a losing effort after being eliminated in the first round to Cora Jade & Raquel Gonzalez. They currently are on the hunt for the tag team gold once again as they will be facing the team of Kayden Carter & Katana Chance (Kacy Catanzaro) on April 27 in a number one contenders match.
