Your Two Cents: The Most Missed

“Your Two Cents” is the new interactive feature where we gauge the opinions of our Twitter and Facebook followers on different discussions in women’s wrestling.

This week, we’re asking this: Bull Nakano’s retirement earlier this week has us wondering: Of those who have left women’s wrestling, who do you miss the most? We’ve read your responses on our social media pages and picked some of the best submissions to highlight here on the website. As always, you can join the debate by leaving your comments!

Our Two Cents

Batting for Team DD this week, it’s Bobby giving us her personal opinion on this week’s topic:

Bobby | I’d have to say the woman I miss most in wrestling would have to be Nidia. She was the first diva I connected with, as random as it sounds, but the segments between she and Jamie Noble are still to this day some of the most hilarious things I have ever seen. She was a good wrestler who only seemed to improve, and I never forget how excited I was the night she won that Contract on a Pole match…only to lose the title shot three seconds later. I always wanted her to come back, but I think she has a family now and lives in Texas, so I just pray she ends up doing a convention in Florida one day so I can meet her!

Your Two Cents

Josue Guzman | One of the first woman I’ve seen wrestle: Madusa. I think she is one of those people in wrestling, who when you hear her name, you KNOW who she is. Whether it be from her incredible athleticism, multiple championships, International fame, controversial moments or legendary feud with Bull Nakano, there is no doubt she has made an impact in women’s wrestling. Would love to see her in the ring one more time!
Michael Kelly | Ivory. She was the mould for the anti-diva, she could talk and in my opinion was one of the best females on the mic ever, she could fight in any type of match & still look good & she shown skill over beauty which makes her iconic.
Mondarious Brantley | Michelle McCool. WWE put a lot of work into getting her over with the fans be it as a heel or face. She really gave it her all and made history for herself. Not only that, but she also gave a rub to other Divas like Layla and Alicia Fox.
@MxdBoysDoItBest | Out of all the women that don’t wrestle anymore, I definitely miss Molly Holly. Molly Holly was one of the most talented divas in the WWE. She was one of my favorite heels because she played the character well. Her in-ring style stood out from all the other divas because she was a great technical wrestler. Her character stood out as well because she played the “virgin” woman who didn’t exploit her body or show any skin, and I feel her character helped the fans lover her and hate her. Molly could’ve became something big if she had stayed around and if the WWE hadn’t put her on the backburner. She only held the Women’s Championship twice, and she deserved to hold it more times than that. Hopefully one day she’ll come back. Boy, do I like the sound of a Molly vs. Beth Phoenix feud!
Nick Gross | Lita. She’s the reason I started watching wrestling again. She’s the one women’s wrestler that as a guy, I could see myself talking to & hanging out with. She had an approachable quality to her that everyone else didn’t have. And the more I learned about her, the more I liked her. She likes the same music as me and is funny & quirky in real life. And I liked that. It’s a shame that the fans caused her to retire early (and her injuries started piling up), she was one in a billion and I personally think that Vince OWES it to her to put her in the Hall of Fame this year. She’s more than earned it. He also owes her a VERY pubic apology for how she was treated at the end of her career.
PortuguesePoison P-Cat Negro | Luna Vachon, god bless her soul, I started watching her in the 90’s when I was 3 or 4 and ever since fell in love with women’s wrestling. I really wished she had a run with TNA before she died, it’s a shame she never was Women’s Champion.
@sofbomb Lacey. Unlike wrestlers like Trish and Lita, I don’t feel we ever got to see all there is to see from Lacey. I would have loved to see her on TV, or even as a part of the fantastic and always growing North American independent women’s wrestling scene. It would have been great to see her work with some of the newer SHIMMER girls like Jessie McKay and Joshis like Ayumi Kurihara. Imagine potential interactions between her and the Canadian Ninjas or the Knight Dynasty?! And if the news about ROH developing a women’s division comes to fruition, her being a part of it would have been absolutely incredible. Who better to represent the Women of Honor than one of the originals? It’s a shame she left wrestling so early, but I’m happy that she was able to get out of it 100% on her terms.

And now we turn it over to you…

What are your two cents on the debate? Who do you miss the most? Tell us in the comments…

  • Melina&Mickie4ever!

I miss Ivory and Jacqueline the most those two being two of my favorite attidude era matches and two of my all time favorites. I love watching their old matches on youtube. I would kill for wwe to give them at least 1 more run -_-

Jacqueline & Ivory are two of the best !

  • FameHooker18

  • WWEStarInTraining

I want McCool, Molly, Jazz, Jillian, Nidia, Melina, and Shaniwua back I want Beth, Nattie, Alicia, Eve, Layla, Kharma, Aj, Tamina, Kaitlyn, Naomi, and Aksana to stay. Put the Bellas, Kelly, and Maxine in Fcw full time. And hire Roxxi, Cheerleader Mellissa, Alpha Female, and Daffney. But knowing wwe we may never have a roster with so much talent in the divas division, with our luck wwe might hire 10 new models who never heard of Wwe and release Nattie, Beth, and Kharma

  • RealMaryse

i miss a lot of ppl but if i have to name some of them that would be maryse. mccool and lita, cuz michelle and lita were just such a good wrestlers and i loved how cold michelle was and i liked that tough chick of lita and than my all time favourite maryse cuz she is hands down the most entertaining diva of all time but i miss a lot of other ppl to like molly holly, stephanie mcmahon, ivory……

The second week in a row my tweet has been used for “Your Two Cents.” Thanks Diva Dirt:)

  • LadyGoDiva

You don’t what you got til its gone.

I’m starting to miss Jillian and her singing apparently because before being released she was the only one who got a chance to be on the mic.

Candice Michelle. It sucks that when she came back she didn’t bring back the level of success and I would’ve love to see her as Divas Champion.

  • ricky_says_hi

Molly Holly. i really wish she could have gotten a big push as a face. true she was a good heel but as a face she was so much better and she could have been big. in fact if jazz hadn’t gotten injured i could have seen molly take over trish’s role as the next face opponent for her. jazz/molly could have been a great feud

  • Blowbangfan

Out of retired/wayward women wrestlers I miss these girls the most:

    1. Maryse
    2. Lacey Von Erich
    3. Candice Michelle
    4. Ivory
    5. Michelle McCool

Maryse was one of the greatest entertainers (of all time) and not just in wrestling but I mean in all of entertainment. Lacey Von Erich was always a lot of fun to watch. Candice Michelle is like a brunette Maryse (albeit, pre-Maryse) and was tough almost as much as she was beautiful. Ivory was always a great competitor and still one of the Top 20 Sexiest Women Wrestlers ever. Michelle McCool was an in-ring sensation and though she was a bit of a boring personality, there’s no doubt that she was an important and revolutionary Diva (apparently the revolution is on hold though) who was pushed to the moon but she excelled with her superior athleticism. Most of all though, I miss Maryse and I hope she ends up coming back to WWE; or better yet, somehow lands with TNA but that’s extremely unlikely to impossible. Sorry about the length of this post but I wanted to explain why I miss these departed Divas (and Knockout) and here;s hoping at least one of them will return to the spotlight eventually…

  • Jhonmarco

I miss Wesna Busic & Lacey the most. Wesna, was an absolute beast in the ring & basically Europe’s Cheerleader Melissa. I dearly miss her striking ability & those brutal kicks. A shame she had to retire right when girls like Hamada, Ayumi, Hiroyo, & Tomoka had arrived in Shimmer. Matches between her & Sara Del Rey, Hailey Hatred, etc. sound amazing.

Lacey, was easily one of the best heels in wrestling. Amazing, she just understood how to get the right kind of heat. Just an incredible heel & wrestler. One of the most missed women in wrestling, love her (& if it wasn’t painfull clear already) & dearly miss her! <3

    • thejoshifanx

I like how you picked Wesna Busic. We should start a campaign to get her back to wrestling. There are a lot of women who return after being injured and I’m sure she can haha. I heard she got married or something like that so I’m not sure.

      • Jhonmarco

Haha :) from what I heard she retired due to nagging injuries. Considering her wrestling style & how she never took a break, it’s no shock. Sadly, I don’t Busic returning :(

        • thejoshifanx

Well I knew she was gone because of injuries but I had heard that she got married and that’s always a factor in wrestlers returning. She might be at full health now so who knows, maybe she just needs to know that some people want to see her back.

        • Jhonmarco

I’m sure she knows people like’d to se her back. She’s gotten over greatly in her career, if it’s in Shimmer or GSW (home promotion) the crowd tells her how much they love her, I miss her lethal big boots though! :/

    • thejoshifanx

Well if Blue Nikita is on Twitter, or if not then Jenny Sjodin who is, someone should ask one of them to ask Wesna for an update. Maybe hear what she has been doing and if she wants to return as well.

  • litafan2000

Bull Nakano and Madusa were my favorite female wrestlers and I actually stopped watching women’s wrestling until Lita came in and she amazed me with those high flying moves that I never seen a “diva” do on tv. Then Trish came a month later and I loved her personality as a heel. So I miss Bull, Lita, Madusa and Trish Stratus.

  • nvonderau

I miss the superstar characters… What makes Eve different from Kelly Kelly? What makes Alica Fox different from Krystal? But I miss women like Debra, Ivory, Jackie Hass, Dawn Marie, Sable, Terri Runnels and Chyna. The girls of today with exception with Beth, Victoria, Vickie, Mickie James, has no charisma at all. Nobody gets Pops like Debra, Sable and Chyna,,,, why cause we do not have any superstars…. It is not all the divas fault but the writing and time given suks… They need to pair up divas with wrestlers. Most of the best females were valets/wrestlers.. Women dont have to wrestle 10 minute matches to be interesting but sometime they are better at creating Havoc outside like Vickie.

  • Megumi

    Arisa Nakajima.
She quickly became my favorite after showcasing her matches with Azumi Hyuga, and then she retired at such an early age and time at her career. Her and Ayumi Kurihara were basically the “it” girls when it came to their rising star quality (Kana aswell, but a lot more subtly), and I really wish to see her again in the future.

I also miss Hiren, another girl with a lot of potential, especially with her training from being a Sendai girl and being taken under Mayumi Ozaki. However, injuries at a young age stop another Joshi star in the making.

    • Mikas

Then there is good news for you, Arisa is coming back. I think she announced her comeback at JWP’s last big show (december). That would be good news for JWP, after they lost Yoneyama recently.
