“Your Two Cents” is our interactive feature where we gauge the opinions of our Twitter and Facebook followers on different discussions in women’s wrestling.

This week, we’re asking this: We told you ours, so we want to know yours: what was your favorite moment in women’s wrestling from 2012? We’ve read your responses on our social media pages and picked some of the best submissions to highlight here on the website. As always, you can join the debate by leaving your comments!

Ashley Matthew | Natalya vs. Beth Phoenix. Such an amazing match that proves that Natalya deserves a good push and that real women wrestlers should be in the WWE, not models. (WATCH)
Brandon Bray | Athena winning the 2012 ACW Queen of Queens. (WATCH)
@DaveMuscarella | Queens of Winning (Sara Del Rey/Courtney Rush) winning the Shimmer Tag Titles in March. The electricity during that match was greater than any match I’ve ever seen live. It was an absolutely unforgettable moment.
@DivaAlexxandra | My favorite moment with the women this year had to be when Lita returned at Raw 1000. I’m sort of biased because Lita is my favorite of all time and I’ve never seen her live. Well that day, I did. I was there for Raw 1000 and when her music hit, I even cried a little, I can’t lie. They even showed my sign during her entrance. Also it was amazing to see Lita because she hasn’t actually had a match since retiring and for the first time in a very long time she actually did a moonsault on WWE TV. And I know alot of people missed that and wanted to see it. (WATCH)
John Logans | Sendai Girls at Chikara’s King of Trios was an incredible thing to watch. Especially their semi-final match against RIng of Honor. The goose bumps on my arm when the crowd started the “Sendais Gonna Kill You” chant was the most awesome thing of this year next to Austin Aries’s title win.
Jonathan Carmona | The Kisses. The kiss Eve Torres had with John Cena and the kiss that AJ Lee had with Daniel Bryan is what made them into big stars in 2012. Eve’s career was rejuvenated by just a kiss. While AJ became a top star for just that. (WATCH | WATCH)
Luiz Giem | My favorite moment was AJ throwing through tables to Daniel Bryan and CM Punk just after she kissed them both. It was a perfect and shocking ending for RAW. (WATCH)
Michael Kennedy | Naomi winning her debut main roster match. I know her performance was polarising, but it was great to see WWE take a chance with her and use her to not only get a shot, but also help move along the Eve/Kaitlyn storyline. I was genuinely shocked and happy by the outcome, and it gave members of Naomi Nation something we’ve wanted for almost 2 years. (WATCH)
@Rashantitty | Jessicka Havok vs. Mercedes Martinez at the WSU 5th anniversary show. iPPV did not do that match Justice. So awesome in person. (WATCH)
@SashaJacques | Favourite moment in women’s wrestling from 2012 has to be Kharma entering the Royal Rumble match. (WATCH)

Aww @DivaAlexxandra’s was so sweet ;)

My favorite moment would probably be a tie between Lita vs Heath Slater and Eve and AJ being a part of RAW’s main event.

Favourite moment of 2012: Madison Rayne winning the Knockouts championship for her 4th time.

Worst moment of 2012: Madison Rayne losing the Knockouts championship the following week due to a biased referee.

    I’m serious.

Hands down, Lita returned and did her two finishers. It was the Team Xtreme version of Lita, Twist of Fate, Moonsault and triumph! The Queen was back for a night and showed that if she wanted to, she can take over the show like she never left. I hope she does in 2013. I do not care if she’s a bit older, she still rocks.

2012 has been arguably a game changing year for women’s wrestling, with some very memorable moments and stories. WSU created a new star, in Jessica Havoc, and it will be interesting to see how this plays out under new ownership, in 2013. June, 2012, marked the end of an era with the sale of WSU, and while WSU is still a quality women’s wrestling promotion in the Northeast, other players have started to emerge, such as Indygurlz, which delivered awesome matches such as the 9/15/12 classic between Mia Yim and Lufisto, and PWS’s BLOW promotion, which from what I’ve heard, has the financial resources to be a game changer. Shine has also done some Great things in Florida, and Shimmer hasn’t missed a beat, and has found success in pushing Saraya Knight as a singles wrestler. If I had to pick a couple of moments as my favorites of the year, I would have to say both the casket match at WSU, between Jessica Havok and Mercedes Martinez, which as I said before, concluded an era, and the Indygurlz match between Mia Yim and Lufisto, which in my opinion, helped to establish the company as a major player in women’s wrestling going forward.

    Lita,AJ moments,and the good matchs.

    Obviously,LITA’S RETURN AT RAW 1000!!

Not only is it my favorite diva moment of the year,it is my favorite return/moment of 2012. Seeing Lita return and have a match,do the twist of fate, moonsault, and the crowd loving it/giving her a good reception was awesome. She looked so happy and she was smiling as she went up to do the moonsault .Definitely looked like she enjoyed herself. It was a fun moment and it was so fucking shocking. Everyone expected it to be Austin,I did too,but when I saw the Lita logo and the eyes on the tron, and heard her theme song…omg..I can’t even describe my reaction.I started screaming and I thought I was gonna cry. Even rewatching it now gives me goosebumps. It was great seeing the return of the greatest diva of all time and her being surrounded by legend..a fellow legend:)I also like the commentary she got; was a perfect return. I love how she was the main focus of one the biggest segments of the show.
The return of the legendary Lita:)

I loved it too. It was shocking and a pleasant surprise at that. She’s been getting a lot of love and recognition lately by WWE…I wonder what changed? Maybe McMahon saw the old Lita DVD lol and snapped out of it..”Oh yea…she was pretty awesome before I exploited her personal life..” Whatever it was, I’m glad they realized it.

      • WweLitafan4ever

Yeah it was extremely shocking and out of the blue. I am a huge, huge Lita fan and not once did she cross my mind as being one of Heath’s opponent. I was sitting there, saying “This is so obvious,it’s gotta be Austin” and then Lita’s music played and ahh OMG!It’s Lita!!I thought I was going to pass out.
I love how she was featured a great number of times in 2012. From the WM Axxess appearance,to having one of the biggest segments at the biggest RAW of the year,to appearing on Edge’s dvd, being the only diva in the Top 50 finishers dvd,and them putting not one but TWO Lita’s in WWE 13…it’s awesome.
I hope she makes more appearances this year and makes one on RAW in 2 weeks!

I’d say Sara Del Ray being signed by WWE is a possible moment, and that moment has continued to last since she’s not the head trainer of the divas down in NXT. Its about time they had someone with her skills to toughen up the girls down there. I mean they are tough enough on their own, but Sara will make them that much better for sure.

  • WWFoverWWE

Madison Rayne winning 4th knockout title and Naomi winning battle royal and getting a title shot at TLC.

That’s pretty much it for me. 2012 has disappointed me when it comes to divas and knockouts for the most part.

  • VelvetLoveFan

Madison as 4x champ, Brooke winning title the first time, anndd Aksana being used more then she has ever been before on Main show
