‘WWE Superstars’ to Live On

After airing its last episode on WGN America last night, PWInsider reports that WWE Superstars will live on via the Internet. The series will be broadcast via YouTube, according to the report. I’m assuming it’ll also be on the WWE website. Looks the Divas will continue to have an arena for lengthy matches!

Cindy Rogers Issues Statement Announcing Retirement, Final Match Against Allison Danger

WSU’s Cindy Rogers will be retiring following one last match on June 25th at WSU’s Uncensored Rumble iPPV.

Her opponent that night will be her good friend Allison Danger, who will be appearing for WSU for one night.

Rogers’ statement below:

I started this journey of pro wrestling 10 years ago, and it has been the greatest ride. Due to a permanent neck injury I sustained in a car accident 2 years ago I have to announce my retirement from this sport I love. It’s a decision that I have put off for a long time now. Physically I needed to do it awhile ago, but mentally I just couldn’t do it. Unfortunately the physical part has taken a priority. I will be retiring on 6/25 at the WSU show in Union City, NJ.

I had the pleasure of working with some of the best female wrestlers out there and some of them in my opinion are the best of all time who don’t get the credit they deserve. I’ve also been able to not just meet, but work with some of the legends I grew up watching. It has been said that it is hard to make friends in this business, but I have been lucky to make many friends including ones who I also consider family-you guys know who you are :)

Tough Enough Redux (Season Premiere): Miss 11 Years, Butt Padding and Alicia vs Melina

The hotly anticipated premiere of Tough Enough last night had high expectations: Big stars attached including ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and Trish Stratus, a plum post-WrestleMania debut and lots of mainstream media hype. A tall order, I’m sure you’ll agree. USA Network’s attempt at Tough Enough certainly met that order — and perhaps even exceeded it with an energetic and highly entertaining first episode.

Let’s break it down…

Pro-Wrestling: EVE Announces New Venue and Start Time for Friday

Pro-Wrestling: EVE has announced a new venue and start time for their event on Friday after their original venue backed out yesterday just days before the show.

Full details below:

URGENT AND IMPORTANT UPDATE! CHANGE OF VENUE TO THIS FRIDAY’S SHOW IN
NORWICH!

At 2.54pm on Monday April 4th Pro-Wrestling:EVE was informed by The Royal
British Legion in Norwich (the venue for the Friday April 8 EVE DVD
Tapings) that the venue was cancelling the event. The reason we were
initially given was that there had been complaints made to the police
about the venue holding a women’s wrestling event. These complaints lead
to the Police Licensing Department investigating the venue thus the venue
cancelled the upcoming show. It has since emerged that the Royal British
Legion who have held regular wrestling events at their venue in the past
did not have the sufficient licensing in place as claimed by the venue
management upon accepting the hire.

WrestleMania 27 in Review: Stratusfaction & SnookiMania Runs Wild

Raise your hand if you expected any other result last night? (Hopefully no one has their hand raised or I might question whether you enjoy Long Island Iced Teas as much as Snooki.) Going into last night’s WrestleMania 27 it was pretty much a given that this was going to be a star vehicle for Snooki. She’d win the match, have a nice little moment and Lay-Cool would run to the back with their tails between their legs.

What we may not have expected, seeing this match on paper, is just how darn entertaining this segment turned out to be! Yes, I’ll be the first to admit it: I was thoroughly entertained by something involving Snooki from Jersey Shore. Does that mean I’m going to run out and buy her book or the entire first season of the show? Hell no. But for what it was, last night’s six-person tag team match was actually enjoyable. I would say that was thanks, in no small part, to a Stratusfying comeback from Trish Stratus and in my opinion, the most consistent Diva in WWE right now, Michelle McCool.
