ICYMI: Taya Valkyrie’s street fight defense vs. Tessa Blanchard

In case you missed it, Impact Wrestling aired its Uncaged event; which was essentially a free pay-per-view show. The show itself was headlined by Johnny Impact’s Four Way title defense, but the big takeaway coming out of the event is its opening title match. That match was a Street Fight between Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie and the challenger, Tessa Blanchard.

The match served as Taya’s very first title defense since winning the title at Homecoming last month. It was only fitting that her first defense was not only against the former champion who she beat for the belt, but a woman who she’s been embroiled in a bitter rivalry with since September.

The match is being hailed as an early contender for Match of the Year and with good reason. Both Knockouts traded slaps, chops, spears and chair shots for several minutes until Taya stomped Tessa through a table to retain her Knockouts Championship.

In case you missed it, Impact posted a Top 5 highlight reel of the match’s most insane moments to their YouTube page. Check out the video above.

New episodes of Impact Wrestling can be viewed every Friday night at 10 p.m. ET/PT either on the Pursuit Channel or on Impact’s Twitch livestream.
