Lita & Becky Lynch Crowned NEW Women’s Tag Team Champions, Trish Stratus Returns

We have new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions just five weeks before WrestleMania 39!

And if you asked me who that would be even a month ago, I wouldn’t be able to even fathom that it is WWE Hall of Famer Lita and Becky Lynch! Lita and Becky Lynch defeated Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai and IYO SKY) in the main event of the Feb. 27 episode of Raw to become champions. This ends Damage CTRL’s reign at 115 days and this is the first time both Lita and Lynch have won tag team gold.

This is Lita’s first championship since 2006.

If this wasn’t enough, fellow Hall of Famer and bestie of Lita, Trish Stratus made her return. She would come out in the last few minutes of the match as Bayley was doing everything she can to try and have Damage CTRL retain. Stratus came out and targeted Bayley. The final moments of the match had Lita going up top for a Litasault but Bayley hopped up on the apron to stop her. This led to Stratus pulling down Bayley. Kai on the other side tried to stop Lita as well but was taken down by Lynch. Lita was able to execute her Litasault on SKY and get the three-count crowning new champions.

Lita, Lynch, and Stratus celebrate in the ring as pyro goes off to end the show.

There were two other women’s matches on this week’s Raw.

Piper Niven took on Candice LeRae. LeRae made her way out to the ring with Nikki Cross creeping behind her. Cross stayed at ringside for the match. This match didn’t get as much time as the other two women’s matches but progressed the storyline a bit with Cross being taken out by Niven when she tried to get involved. This caused too much of a distraction for Niven so LeRae picked up the victory. LeRae rushed to the back after the match without Cross who was laid out at ringside.

Asuka also took on Carmella this week and for the first time in a singles match, Asuka has been able to defeat Carmella. This match was given a nice bit of time and was a solid match – giving Carmella a lot of offense. Unfortunately for Mella, she wasn’t able to break out of the armbar submission that Asuka has been using to take out all of her opponents since returning at the Royal Rumble.

Post-match, Asuka called out Bianca Belair. Belair responded and made her way to the ring. However, the talk between the two didn’t last long as Carmella would attack Asuka from behind, pushing her into Belair and knocking them both down.

Moments later, we see that Chelsea Green was in Adam Pearce’s office. She was complaining that she was sent to Ottawa, Illinois last week instead of Ottawa, Canada. She asked Pearce how she was supposed to know there was an Ottawa, Canada, but Pearce reminded her that she is from Canada. Carmella would come in to interrupt.

Pearce received a phone call he had to take but told Carmella that she would face Belair next week. Then, Carmella and Chelsea introduced themselves to one another. Both seemed to vibe with one another and liked each other’s style.

Maxxine Dupri continues to scout Otis. Backstage, Dupri told Otis that he needs to get a match and she would be at ringside for him. He got a match against Johnny Gargano, but would end up losing the match after Dexter Lumis appeared to take care of Maximum Male Models who were trying to take out Gargano at ringside.

Gigi Dolin Returns And Attacks Jacy Jayne On Feb. 21 NXT

Gigi Dolin returned after the brutal attack on her by her former Toxic Attraction teammate Jacy Jayne just a couple of weeks ago.

Jayne took on Indi Hartwell on this week’s NXT. Hartwell had a problem with how Toxic Attraction belittled and treated the whole locker room during their tenure. And now that they have parted ways, Hartwell isn’t going to welcome Jayne with open arms.

Just as Jayne was possibly ready to put away Hartwell, the match between the two ended in a disqualification. Dolin made her return and attacked Jayne from behind. The attack spilled out to the outside of the ring as Dolin tossed Jayne into both barricades. Jayne tried to get away but Dolin stayed on her as they made their way to the back to end the segment.

Another match this week had Alba Fyre take on Ivy Nile and come out with a victory. For the past couple of weeks, Isla Dawn and Fyre have been trying to convince Tatum Paxley that she isn’t truly a member of Diamond Mine. Paxley hesitated to come to the ring with Nile which then had Nile convince her not to let Dawn & Fyre get into her head.

Paxley would come to the ring, but at the end of the match when she was on the ring apron, Nile inadvertently knocked her off which allowed Fyre to get the victory off of the Alba Drop.

The Women’s Tag Team Champions had a rift last week during Valentine’s Day when Fallon Henley showed she still doesn’t trust Kiana James. She ruined the date between James and Brooks Jensen when she accused James of cheating on Jense with someone named Zack. Zack turned out to be James’ brother.

Henley had to swallow her pride and apologized to James in person for accusing her of cheating.

Sol Ruca wants another shot at Zoey Stark, but Stark is seemingly interested in facing Meiko Satomura claiming she is the final boss instead. Stark will face Satomura next week.

Meanwhile, Satomura was holding a training session in which the NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez wanted to take part in. Perez would quickly realize she shouldn’t have volunteered for this. After all of the other girls dropped out, Perez finished the 1,000 squats only to realize that this was only the warm-up.

Stevie Turner had a promo on Lyra Valkyria.

Lastly, Nikkita Lyons returned to say that she had successful surgery on her ACL but will be out for at least close to a year. After applying that it may have been Stratton that attacked Lyons in the parking lot, Stratton assured her that would be below the bottom of her list to do. She then had a Tiffany Epiphany and told Lyons to vanish for a year.

Asuka Wins Elimination Chamber, Set To Face Bianca Belair At WrestleMania

At the 2023 Elimination Chamber event, Asuka would enter the chamber last and outlast five other women to punch her ticket to WrestleMania.

The match started with Liv Morgan and Natalya and lasted nearly 20 minutes. Big spots in the match included Nikki Cross delivering a cross body off the top of Carmella’s pod. Morgan hit a sunset flip from the top of a pod to Raquel Rodriguez. And there was also a moment where Rodriguez drove Cross in through a pod that Carmella was trying to keep herself in.

The first elimination was by Rodriguez to Cross. The second and surprising elimination was Morgan, but she didn’t go out easy. She would end up passing out in both the Sharpshooter by Natalya and a combo submission from Asuka. Carmella would eliminate Natalya about 17 minutes into the match by pinfall. Rodriguez was eliminated by Carmella and Asuka leaving us with the final two.

Carmella immediately hit a superkick on Asuka trying to get the surprise victory, but Asuka was able to kick out. Finally, Asuka got Carmella into submission which cause the Princess of Staten Island to tap out.

Asuka will be facing Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania making the second women’s match confirmed for the two-night event. Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley will do battle for the SmackDown Women’s Title.

Speaking of Ripley, the Royal Rumble winner, had a huge match at this event alongside Finn Balor. They faced the team of Beth Phoenix and Edge. A longtime coming match between the Grit Couple and the Judgment Day.

In one of the best mixed tag team matches in years, the four competitors put on one heck of a match. Lastly nearly 14 minutes, it would be Phoenix and Edge to pick up the big win in Canada. Edge would pin Balor.

Great event overall!

Asuka Builds Momentum Heading Into Elimination Chamber

Asuka picked up a big win against Liv Morgan on the Feb. 17 episode heading into the weekend. Tomorrow, Feb. 18 will be the fifth women’s Elimination Chamber Match in history which will include both Asuka and Morgan. The other four women in that match will be Carmella, Nikki Cross, Natalya, and Raquel Rodriguez.

On SmackDown, Carmella took to commentary while Asuka and Morgan squared up in the ring. The match was very equal between both women with each hitting some great spots. This included a codebreaker from Morgan to Asuka from the top turnbuckle.

With Carmella on commentary, the rest of the chamber participants had to emerge. First was Rodriguez who had heard enough of Carmella talking bad about her. Carmella complimented her big back to try and calm her down.

Cross would jump on the commentary desk and sit in the lap of Wade Barrett while asking if Michael Cole would be her best friend. Natalya would join and watch from the other side of the ring. Carmella wasn’t pleased with Barrett’s commentary so started doing it herself.

The final moments of the match had Morgan get caught up in the ropes going for ObLIVion but Asuka misses wildly with a kick. Morgan rolls up Asuka for a count of two but Asuka locks in a submission causing Morgan to tap.

Post-match, all members of the chamber match get involved in the ring. Carmella lands a superkick on Asuka before Natalya takes down Carmella with the lariat. Cross then executes a swinging neck breaker on Natalya before Rodriguez lands Cross on the mat with a Tejana Bomb. Rodriguez helps Morgan back up who is in the corner. As the two take a look up at the chamber that is hanging above the ring, Morgan takes out Rodriguez with a codebreaker. Asuka lands a roundhouse kick to Rodriguez as well. Both Morgan and Asuka lock eyes before Morgan leaves the ring.

The other women’s match of the night opened the show and it was a tag team match with Natalya teaming up with Shotzi to take on Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. Both Nattie and Shotzi have unfinished business with Rousey and Baszler for attacking them in the past which is why they have joined up.

The final moments of the match had Rousey in trouble as she was in the Sharpshooter by Natalya for quite some time. Baszler distracted Natalya which made her break the hold. Baszler pulled Natalya out of the ring for Rousey to lock in a submission on Shotzi who tapped out.

B-Fab and Hit Row performed only to be taken out by Bray Wyatt and Uncle Howdy.

A Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley Segment is set for next week.

Roxanne Perez vs. Meiko Satomura Set For NXT Roadblock

On the Feb. 14 episode of NXT, a huge tag team match took place in the main event. A match full of women who are no strangers to gold as the current NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez teamed up with the returning Meiko Satomura to take on Kayden Carter and Katana Chance.

Prior to the match in a backstage segment, Perez expressed appreciation for Satomura answering her call to be her tag team partner. Satomura responded stating that she has her reasons for wanting to tag with her. The match came down to Perez picking up the victory for their team with Pop Rox on Carter for the pin. Post match, the winning team celebrates as Satomura says she has done something for Perez and now she wants something in return and pointed to the NXT Women’s Title. Perez graciously accepted.

The match will take place at NXT Roadblock which will be a special NXT episode on March 7. The next premium live event for NXT will be Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania weekend.

Another women’s match on this week’s NXT continues at the hint of the in-ring debut of Ava Raine. The match itself was between Thea Hail and Tiffany Stratton and last week, Hail was kidnapped by Raine and the Schism and she came running back out screaming from the encounter. Raine appeared in the crowd which distracted Hail took much and Stratton took advantage. Stratton hit her moonsault for the victory.

Other women on the show included a Valentine’s Date between Kiana James and Brooks Jensen. Fallon Henley came to interrupt it saying that James is cheating on Jensen with a guy named Zack who she spoke to on the phone the other week. The new tag team champions haven’t been fully on the same page mainly due to Henley’s distrust of James. James said Zack is her brother and she isn’t cheating on Jensen.

Isla Dawn continues to try and drive a wedge between Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley.

Sol Ruca had a vignette you can view below. She wants another match against Zoey Stark.

Lastly, Jacy Jayne addressed the fans about her attack on Gigi Dolin last week and the demise of Toxic Attraction. Jayne stated that she was always considered the third wheel in the group and now she is the only one standing. Indi Hartwell had a promo later in the night and called out Jayne. The two will meet next week.

Bianca Belair Keeps Bayley And Lynch Out Of The Elimination Chamber Match

The main event of the Feb. 13 episode of Raw had huge implications. A triple threat which was formed after the opening segment.

The Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair took on both Becky Lynch and Bayley. If either Lynch or Bayley won they would be added to this weekend’s Elimination Chamber match. Belair had to win to keep the field at six and prevent either Bayley or Lynch an opportunity to face her at WrestleMania.

The match was given plenty of time in the main event which of course prompted the other members of Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai & IYO SKY) and Women’s Tag Team Champions to get involved. The final moments of the match saw the six participants already involved in the chamber match to come down and go after the tag champs. This led to the participants to fight amongst themselves also. Earlier in the night, Natalya expressed to Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan that she didn’t think it was fair for either Bayley or Lynch to get into the chamber match.

After a ManHandle Slam to Bayley, Lynch got caught by Belair in the KOD. Belair landed Lynch on top of Bayley who then rolled out allowing the Raw Women’s Champion to get the pin and the victory. Belair’s victory means that neither Bayley nor Lynch have a clear ride to WrestleMania and will not be participating in the Elimination Chamber match this Saturday.

There were two other matches on the Feb. 13 episode of Raw. First, Michin Mia Yim took on Piper Niven. Niven was not happy after last week when she felt that both Yim and Candice LeRae got in her way of a victory. In that match, it would be Carmella who secured the final spot in the chamber much to Niven’s dismay.

Niven was able to pick up the victory on Yim.

Lastly, we had the advertised six woman tag match. It involved all six participants for the chamber match in a Raw vs. SmackDown idea. Asuka, Carmella, and Nikki Cross took on Rodriguez, Morgan, and Natalya.

The match broke down to even Asuka going after her own teammates, but in the end she held it together and got the victory for the Raw ladies. Morgan tapped out.

Other women we saw on the show included Maxxine Dupri. Dupri has her eyes on Otis and tried to recruit him in a backstage segment.

Chelsea Green continued to pull double duty on both shows as she appeared to give the manager, Adam Pearce, another hard time. Green said she wouldn’t leave Pearce’s office without being added to the Triple Threat and get a chance to enter the chamber match. Pearce confirmed that wasn’t happening. Green then accused Pearce of trying to touch her before he walked away.

Rhea Ripley returned from her absence last week and made sure to save Dominik. She delivered a Riptide to Beth Phoenix ahead of their mixed tag match this weekend.

Rousey Returns On SmackDown, Tag Team Match Set For Feb. 17

Ronda Rousey is back.

On the Feb. 10 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Rousey returned after a confrontation between Natalya and Shayna Baszler happened in the ring. Natalya first took to the ring to cut a promo. She addressed Baszler who took her out a number of months ago with a broken nose. She says that Baszler took something from her so she repaid the favor and took Baszler’s spot in the upcoming Chamber match. She then called Baszler a cheap knock off of Rousey.

Baszler would head to the ring and tell Natalya that she has been doing this long before Rousey was even signed with WWE. The two got face to face in the ring before Rousey’s music hit. One Rousey entered the ring, she and Baszler attacked Natalya. Another previous victim of Baszler and Rousey, Shotzi, attempted to make the save but wasn’t successful. With Rousey holding Natalya back, Baszler hit another knee to Nataly’a face.

A tag team match has been booked for next week between Baszler and Rousey vs. Natalya and Shotzi.

Elsewhere on SmackDown, Chelsea Green made the trip over from Raw. She wanted to speak to the manager of SmackDown, not realizing it is the same as Raw – Adam Pearce. She blames it on facial amnesia. Pearce booked a match for Green alongside Sony Deville vs. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.

Although Green and Deville didn’t want to team up, they had to anyway…they would suffer defeat after Green gets pinned by Morgan. The final moments of the match had Morgan hit ObLIVion before Rodriguez powerbombs her onto Green.

The SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair addresses Rhea Ripley being her WrestleMania opponent.

Lita Returns To Raw, Helps Lynch Defeat Bayley In Steel Cage

Fans finally got the steel cage match between Becky Lynch and Bayley on the Feb. 6 episode of Raw. And what made it better was it being in the main event where it belongs. The match would end with Lynch victorious after delivering a ManHandle Slam, however, she did get some help. Some help from a Hall of Famer – Lita.

The final moments of the match had Bayley trying to win by escaping the cage. She climbed to the top but Lynch followed her. Lynch tried locking in the DisarmHer on the top of the cage but couldn’t get all of it. Bayley fell down the cage inside the ring to the mat.

With Lynch still at the top of the cage, IYO SKY climbed up and traded blows with Lynch. This continued until she was able to get Lynch back down to the ring. SKY wasn’t able to get back down the cage before Lita’s music hit. She ran down to the ring, pulled SKY off the cage before making sure Dakota Kai wasn’t an issue either. She then slammed the steel cage door on Bayley allowing Lynch to hit her finisher for the win.

From one Hall of Famer to another, we now know that Beth Phoenix will team with Edge to face Rhea Ripley and Finn Balor at Elimination Chamber.

Carmella Qualifies For Last Spot In The Elimination Chamber

Carmella has made her in-ring return to Raw and in a big way. She qualified for the last spot for the Elimination Chamber match by winning a Fatal 4-Way that also included Michin Mia Yim, Candice LeRae, and Piper Niven.

Final moments of the match had Carmella in charge against LeRae in the corner. Carmella sidestepped which allowed Niven to hit a cannonball on LeRae. A super kick by the Princess of Staten Island on Niven took her out of the match. She stacked up LeRae to get the pin.

Carmella now joins Raquel Rodriguez, Liv Morgan, Asuka, Nikki Cross, and Natalya for the Elimination Chamber on Feb. 18. The winner of the match will face Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 39.

In a backstage segment post match, Niven ran into LeRae and Yim. She warned them to never get in her way for a championship opportunity again.

A six woman tag team match has been booked for next week’s Raw as the women in the chamber from the red brand take on the women in the chamber from the blue brand. Carmella, Cross, and Asuka vs. Rodriguez, Morgan, and Natalya.

Nikki Cross has finally been caught stalking Candice LeRae. Dexter Lumis drew a picture of Cross watch the Garganos as she was actually watching them. Cross ran off.

Chelsea Green also had a short match against Asuka. All the chamber participants were at ringside. Green was more focused on the women outside the ring which allowed Asuka to get the submission victory. Post match, the Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair came out to say she looks forward to see who she will be facing at WrestleMania.

Check back in with Diva Dirt for more news and results from the women of Raw.

Natalya Qualifies For Elimination Chamber Match

On the Feb. 3 episode of Friday Night SmackDown a Fatal 4-Way match took place to determine who would qualify for a spot in the Elimination Chamber. Natalya earned the spot by winning the match. Shotzi, Shayna Baszler, and Zelina Vega participated in the match.

The final moments saw Vega locked into a Kirifuda Clutch by Baszler who had to let go as Natalya went and missed with the discus clothesline. Baszler then locked in the clutch on Natalya but she was able to escape and push Baszler out of the ring. This let Natalya lock in the Sharpshooter on Vega to get the submission victory.

Natalya makes the fifth woman qualified for the Elimination Chamber Match on Feb. 18. It will be a number one contender match for the Raw Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair at WrestleMania. She joins Liv Morgan, Nikki Cross, Raquel Rodriguez, and Asuka who are already in the match.

On the upcoming Feb. 6 episode of Raw, we will see another Fatal 4-Way qualifying match to confirm the last entry into the chamber. It will be Candice LeRae vs. Michin Mia Yim vs. Piper Niven vs. Carmella.

Also on SmackDown, Charlotte Flair successfully defended her title against Sonya Deville. So her match against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania is still intact. Flair retained after locking in the Figure Eight submission.

Over on NXT Level Up this week, Sol Ruca took on Lash Legend and came out with the victory after hitting Sol Snatcher.
