Green & Deville Win No. 1 Contender Tag Team Turmoil Match

Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville are the new number one contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. They defeated four other teams after entering first in a Tag Team Turmoil bout.

The other teams involved were The Way (Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell), Nikki Cross & Emma, Tegan Nox & Dana Brooke, and Katana Chance & Kayden Carter. They entered the match in the order listed. The champs Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan sat at ringside.

This match was Hartwell’s official debut on Raw since being called up to the red brand during the last WWE Draft. She had suffered an injury which has kept her out of the ring.

After taking out Hartwell and LeRae, Emma and Nikki Cross would enter the match. Cross came in with the energy but it quickly became a 2 on 1 affair between Deville/Green vs. Emma. Cross saw LeRae was injured on the outside. She went outside to show her concern for LeRae and stayed out the the remainder of her teams time in the match. Emma was pinned.

Next up was Brooke and Nox. The makeshift team did what they could but in the end would fall like the teams befofe them with a running knee by Deville. Lastly, the longest reigning NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Chance & Carter entered the ring. They have a prior win over Green and Deville.

The match certainly picked up in this last part of the bout. The final moments had the KC’s going for the After Party finish but eventually it would be the UnprettyHer from Green to get the pin and the victory.

The challengers and champions have a short stare off in the ring after the match. We do not have a date of the championship match at this time.

More Raw results to follow.

Flair & Deville Brawl On SmackDown; Rodriguez Added To Royal Rumble

For those that missed the Jan. 13 episode of SmackDown, there were two women’s matches and a segment involving SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair continuing a feud with Sonya Deville.

The first women we saw during the night was a backstage segment between Liv Morgan, Maxxine Dupri, Emma, and Raquel Rodriguez. In the locker room, both Emma and Maxxine were questioning Morgan’s desire to enter the Royal Rumble in the number one position. Emma was giving her advice more out of care whereas Maxxine pretty much said she was dumb to want to enter at number one.

Rodriguez would enter the conversation and agree with both Emma and Maxxine. Morgan took offense to this and said she recently had her palm read. She wanted Rodriguez to take a look at her palm but instead, Morgan slapped her across the face. Rodriguez said she is tired of people not realizing she is the strongest woman in the locker room. This led to a match between the two later in the night. Rodriguez also declared herself for the Rumble.

The first match was between Tegan Nox and Xia Li. It was a quick affair between the two only lasting a few minutes. The winner of the match would be Nox after she avoided a spinning kick from Li. Nox hit the Shiniest Wizard to get the pinfall victory.

Valhalla was involved in a Viking Raiders vignette calling out Drew McIntyre & Sheamus.

The second match as mentioned earlier was Morgan facing Rodriguez. Lasting a bit longer than the first women’s match, this one went to Rodriguez. As the match came to its conclusion, Morgan pulled out a table despite this not being any type of stipulation match. She set it up and placed Rodriguez on top of it on the outside. As Morgan climbed to the top, Rodriguez would roll off the table and got back in the ring. Still on the turnbuckle, Morgan went to hit a crossbody but was swatted down by Rodriguez. Rodriguez followed up with the Tejana Bomb to get the pin.

Lastly, Sonya Deville was backstage in Adam Pearce’s office demanding a rematch for the SmackDown Women’s Title against Charlotte Flair. Deville failed to get the victory last week and wants another match. Pearce explained to her that’s not how it works, she just lost and has to go to the back of the line. Deville wouldn’t accept this and said she will get her rematch essentially her way.

Moments later after a commercial break, Deville attacked Flair backstage and the two entered into a brawl. The brawl was broken up multiple times by officials but it did last a few minutes.

Shotzi Builds Momentum With A Win On SmackDown

Shotzi battled Shayna Baszler on the Nov. 18 episode of SmackDown just over one week away from her SmackDown Women’s Championship Match against the champ Ronda Rousey. Shotzi will challenge Rousey at Survivor Series WarGames but she had to get revenge on Baszler first after taking her out last week.

The match had a very 2-on-1 feeling as Rousey would cause distractions on numerous occasions. Every time that Shotzi would get some momentum against Baszler, Rousey was there to make sure it didn’t happen again.

Eventually, Raquel Rodriguez’s music would hit and she would make her way down to the ring to support Shotzi. This distracted Baszler while she was setting up Shotzi’s arm to stomp on. Shotzi would counter and stack up Baszler to get the victory. Shotzi and Rodriguez celebrated after the match.

Next week, a tag team match is booked as Shotzi and Rodriguez will be taking on Baszler and Rousey.

Elsewhere on SmackDown, Emma was giving a pep talk to Madcap Moss backstage before his match against Karrion Kross. Moss wanted some retribution against Kross after his loss to him recently. Scarlett would of course accompany Kross to the ring.

Scarlett’s presence throughout the match including a slap to Moss’ face would do him no favors. Kross would eventually cause Moss to go to sleep again in the Kross Jacket. Emma would rush to the ring after the match to be by the side of Moss.

On NXT Level Up, Dani Palmer had her TV debut. She faced Thea Hail in a losing effort.

Emma Returns To WWE On SmackDown, Challenges Rousey

Emma has made her return to WWE!!

It has been five years to almost the day since Emma was released from WWE. Her last match was on Raw against Asuka just days before her release on Oct. 29 in 2017. Now, she returned to SmackDown and answered the open challenge from Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

During the match, commentary would remind everyone of Emma’s time with the company previously including her being in the finals of the inaugural NXT Women’s Championship tournament. She is the first-ever Australian female to ever be signed to WWE during her first run. Emma put up a fight against Rousey and despite her veteran status, it would still be considered an upset if she would have achieved victory.

Despite coming close to getting that upset with a very close near fall on Rousey, it would be Rousey that would retain. After fighting away from tapping out to the ankle lock, Emma would succumb to the armbar submission after being hit with the Piper’s Pit. This was only after Rousey raked Emma eyes.

After the match, Rousey was seen backstage where Shayna Baszler approached her. She congratulated her on retaining the belt against the “new girl.” Natalya appeared and stated that Rousey was lucky because if it was her that answered the open challenge it would have been a different story. Baszler would then attack Natalya with a Kirifuda Clutch as Rousey watched with approval.

We also got some continuation between Sonya Deville and Liv Morgan. Morgan defeated Deville last week and then went extreme when she landed a superplex on chairs in the middle of the ring. This week, Deville was asked backstage if she would be answering the open challenge against Rousey. She said she knows who won’t be answering and that was Morgan adding that the former champion should never have had the title, to begin with. Morgan would jump Deville and the two would brawl as they were pulled apart by officials.

Due to their ongoing animosity towards each other, next week we will get a No Disqualification match between Morgan and Deville.

B-Fab, Zelina Vega, and Maxxine Dupri were all on this week’s show with their respective stables. Hit Row and Shinsuke Nakamura took on Legado Del Fantasma and came out victorious. Maximum Male Models took another loss to The New Day.

Lastly, another video of the presumed return of Sarah Logan aired.
