Twin magic fooled new WWE referee, Nunzio, allowing Brie Bella to retain the Divas Championship just moments ago at Over the Limit. The champion switched with sister Nikki, who hit challenger Kelly Kelly with the X Factor to retain the belt. PPV Predictions: WWE Over the Limit 2011 Thoughts: A largely uneventful match, I’m afraid. … Read more
Brie Bella defends the Divas Title against Kelly Kelly tonight. Who’ll come out on top? The Diva Dirt team weighs in:
April: I am probably among many who are semi-surprised at this match. I’m going to assume it is due to the tag team matches we have seen on Raw in past weeks but you know what they say about assuming. I was also probably one of the few who actually cheered when Brie Bella won the WWE Divas Championship. But, where I want Brie to retain, I am going to have to say that my pick to win is Kelly Kelly. She seems to pop up and surprise us all when we least expect it and honestly, where she may not be the greatest in-ring talent, I could see her carrying the butterfly belt. I am very curious to see how this turns out, considering neither would have been considered an “ideal” competitor around a year ago. The WWE always has a way of throwing one out of left field so it is definitely bound to be interesting. Let’s see if Kelly Kelly can finally capture the strap and prove all the doubters wrong.
It looks like we will be getting a Divas Championship match this Sunday at WWE’s Over the Limit pay per view, despite no official announcement being made as yet. Brie Bella let slip on Twitter that she’ll be facing Kelly Kelly, but has since deleted her tweet. Kelly has picked up wins over the Bellas … Read more
Last night at Extreme Rules, we were all witness to two things: LayCool came to an end signifying the destruction of arguably one of the best Diva tag teams of all time. And two, one Diva’s career came to a premature and sad end as the loser was banished from the WWE as per the stipulation.
Michelle McCool and Layla have both come a long way in their careers. Michelle has gone from being a Diva Search reject to a world class athlete and performer, and her WWE career has been lined with many historical “firsts” and championship gold. Layla has gone from being a Diva Search winner, to a glorified dancer and ECW side-show, to a jobber, to the most improved Diva on the roster, to the last ever Women’s Champion in history. To say LayCool are to be respected is a gross understatement. Love their characters or hate them, the women behind those characters have proven themselves time and time again. For the past year and a half, two years… hell if I know, they have been the centerpieces of an often dismal Divas division and losing one of them is going to hurt. Speaking from a personal standpoint, it truly hurts me as a fan to know going into the match one of them is leaving. We all knew who it might be. Regardless, we went in on the edge of our seats as we watched. It doesn’t matter if you’re Team Lay or Team Cool. Both of them have been defined by each other. Unfortunately, last night it all came to an end. Let’s have a look…
The action kicks off with a shot of a group of Divas standing around in the lockerroom. A silent, rather timid Layla walks in and she looks like she’s about to face a firing squad. The chilly reception she receives is hardly surprising given the fact she’s had a hand in torturing every girl on the roster. Nonetheless, Layla womans up and shyly apologizes for all the wrongdoings she’s had a part in. The Divas aren’t quick to forgive but Kelly Kelly admits that everyone hates Michelle more than they could ever hate Lay. Layla swallows this and Kelly wishes her good luck. Layla leaves the lockerroom and the scene backstage fades.
We cut to the ring and you guessed it, it is match time!
Michelle McCool, who lost a Loser Leaves WWE match last night at Extreme Rules, is indeed leaving the company, she confirms via Twitter. The angle served as a very real swansong from WWE for the first ever Divas Champion, who writes: Thx for the love guys….I know there will always be rumors, but that was it … Read more
The battle of the former BFFs led to one ousting the other in a Loser Leaves WWE match. It was Layla, always the underdog in LayCool, that picked up the biggest victory of her career by defeating her long-time BFF, Michelle McCool and forcing her out of WWE. Following a brutal physical brawl, Layla managed … Read more
LayCool implode tonight at Extreme Rules in a Loser Leaves WWE Match. Who will be banished? The Diva Dirt team weigh in…
Cryssi: I think the outcome of this match is pretty cut and dry, but just for the hell of it I’m going to pretend I don’t know what the rumors are and I’m going into this blind thinking it’s a Loser Leaves SmackDown match. So… here we go! Michelle and Layla will have a hard hitting, emotionally charged match with Michelle dominating the majority of it. During the half-way point, the entire Divas lockerroom will empty out of the back and walk to the stage, wanting an eye witness view of these two girls destroying each other. After all, who’s life hasn’t LayCool screwed with? After some offense from Layla, Michelle will take a chair knock out Layla, and instead of going for the immediate cover, she’ll turn to where the Divas are standing and start showboating. The crowd will start freaking out because out of nowhere Kharma will appear and slide into the ring behind Michelle. The other Divas will have shocked looks on their faces and when Michelle arrogantly turns around to pick Layla up for the Faith Breaker, Kharma will be waiting. Michelle will scream and Kharma will pick her up, lay her out with an Awesome Bomb, and drape Layla’s lifeless carcass over Michelle. Layla will win the match, Michelle will be done on SmackDown, and Kharma will send a message to all the other Divas by powerbombing Layla on top of Michelle. She’ll turn to the stage, point at the Divas, and start laughing hysterically as the scene will fade into a promo for whatever pay-per-view is next. Yup.

SmackDown just aired in Australia and a couple of readers sent in word of an update to the previously revealed Extreme Rules match this Sunday. For spoiler purposes, it is in spoiler tags: Thanks to Matthew & Nick for the tip.
Raise your hand if you expected any other result last night? (Hopefully no one has their hand raised or I might question whether you enjoy Long Island Iced Teas as much as Snooki.) Going into last night’s WrestleMania 27 it was pretty much a given that this was going to be a star vehicle for Snooki. She’d win the match, have a nice little moment and Lay-Cool would run to the back with their tails between their legs.
What we may not have expected, seeing this match on paper, is just how darn entertaining this segment turned out to be! Yes, I’ll be the first to admit it: I was thoroughly entertained by something involving Snooki from Jersey Shore. Does that mean I’m going to run out and buy her book or the entire first season of the show? Hell no. But for what it was, last night’s six-person tag team match was actually enjoyable. I would say that was thanks, in no small part, to a Stratusfying comeback from Trish Stratus and in my opinion, the most consistent Diva in WWE right now, Michelle McCool.
The Brunette Mafia came out to the ring with a purpose tonight at WrestleMania 27: To take out a hit on Lay-Cool and Dolph Ziggler and that’s exactly what they did.
Surprising the world, Snooki showed off her incredible athleticism, winning the match with a very impressive handspring backbump followed by a handspring splash on Michelle McCool.
WrestleMania is here! Will Stratusfaction be delivered? Will Snooki serve up some ‘Jersey’? Or will Lay-Cool prove to be flawless? The Diva Dirt team weigh in…
April: I am going to have to say that this WeestleMania is going to be the year of the brunettes. Trish Stratus, Snooki & John Morrison are going to take the win on this one. WWE wouldn’t hype up the return of a class act Diva and the addition of a “celebrity” if they couldn’t win it. Plus, on the experience side, I think Trish has it. You mix her with the crazy in-ring style of Morrison and it is bound to be fantastic. I love Lay-Cool and Dolph Ziggler but I have a feeling they’re going fall victim to the power of the Snook this time.
I think I perform well under pressure. The SATs? Nailed ’em. Wedding vows? Remembered ’em. Kids? Raising ’em. Ring announcing? Introduced ’em (and didn’t fall down). Now I realize that before this trip to Atlanta I didn’t know the first thing about pressure. But after Axxess this past Thursday I am now a resident expert.
One photo. That’s what you get. One photo. You screw it up and there are no do-overs, no second chances. One shot. A few years ago I was hoping for the perfect picture with Beth and thankfully I kept my eyes open and it all worked out. But even if it didn’t I knew I would be OK (and just go buy Photoshop). But this one wasn’t about me. Oh no. This time I was the one holding the camera.

Former WWE Women’s Champion, Amy ‘Lita’ Dumas announced on Twitter that she will be at WrestleMania 27 Fan Axxess today.
She wrote: “Headed over to the Georgia Dome for Fan Axxcess to broadcast live with Project 96-1 WKLS. Come find me!”
Dumas lives in Atlanta, but up until now hadn’t been announced for any WWE events. I wouldn’t be surprised if Amy is at the Hall of Fame tonight or backstage at ‘Mania tomorrow.
Perhaps also interestingly, Trish Stratus mentioned in our interview that she’s working on doing something very cool this coming Monday on Raw. Pure speculation on my part, but Trish & Lita vs Lay-Cool would certainly fit the bill!
Perhaps one of the most memorable moments in WrestleMania Diva history… who can forget Molly Holly having her head shaved bald in 2004? Relive it below:
Diva Dirt’s Mr Glamazon brings us her exclusive daily blog detailing her adventures in Atlanta for WrestleMania 27 this weekend. Check back each day for a new entry! Note from Melanie: Unfortunately, David was unable to write his blog today, but did send along the following pictures from yesterday’s Axxess event! [nggallery id=475]
Looks like Trish isn’t the only one getting the Axxess memorabilia treatment.
Sunny, who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, this weekend has also received a spot at the convention — though on a smaller scale to Trish’s display.
WWE’s annual Axxess convention kicked off yesterday in Atlanta and continuing our access-all-areas (pardon the pun) coverage of WrestleMania 27, we snapped a few pictures from the day’s events.
Appearing at Axxess yesterday were the likes of Kaitlyn, Gail Kim, Rosa Mendes, Lay-Cool, Vickie Guerrero and more!
Check out a selection of pictures from Day 1 of Axxess below:
Fans at WrestleMania Axxess this weekend are being treated to a display of Trish Stratus’ greatest hits — well, outfits — in the memorabilia section of the convention.
Several outfits from Trish’s WWE heyday are on display. Diva Dirt has exclusive photos and an exclusive video tour! Check it out below.
Also, you can hear Trish talking about the Axxess display and how/why she chose the outfits in our interview with her from earlier this week.
It’s been five years since Trish Stratus last competed at WrestleMania. This weekend she makes her return, but today we take a look back at her last appearance.
It was the feud that captivated fans and is highly regarded as one of the best Diva storylines of all time. For months, Mickie James tried to woo Trish — before deciding she’d rather take her down instead. It all culminated at WrestleMania 22 in 2006…
