2. Rhea Ripley 28yo WWE
Rhea Ripley is one of the most popular women wrestlers in the industry today. Hands down. And her growth throughout her career has been on full showcase for the world to see.
Ripley started her career like many on this list at a young age. She started in 2013 on the Australian indie scene at Riot City Wrestling. A promotion who had stars such as Indi Hartwell, Toni Storm, The IIconics, and DELTA (Zaria) wrestle for them as well. She eventually would get on WWE’s radar and by 2017, at only the age of 20, first competing the the inaugural Mae Young Classic. She lost to Dakota Kai in the second round.
Ripley wasn’t utilized a whole lot until the second Mae Young Classic. She would make it to the semi-finals this time, losing to the eventual winner, Io Shirai (IYO SKY). From there she headed to NXT UK and had the privilege of becoming the brands first NXT UK Women’s Champion. She would go on to feud with Toni Storm and Piper Niven. Eyes started to open more on Ms. Ripley at this time.
In 2019, Ripley had already secured a spot in the women’s Royal Rumble while still being in NXT UK. Once she came over to the States to NXT, she would be the one to finally end Shayna Baszler’s NXT Women’s Title reign (a match that has garnered 2.4 million views on YouTube)…a title Ripley held herself until she dropped it to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 36. Since her main roster debut, in 2021, she has continued success by appearing on all six WrestleMania’s since 2020.
Ripley headed The Judgement Day faction as the solo woman at the time. She has so far won rhe Royal Rumble, won a championship in one of the best women’s matches of all time at a WrestleMania 39 (a match that has garnered 5.7 million views on YouTube) and has so far been a three-time women’s champion, one time tag team champion, and the first and is the fifth woman to become a Grand Slam Champion out of only seven. She’s become a WarGames staple.
All of this and she isn’t even 30 years old! Hard to believe Ripley has already been with WWE for eight years.
