The film, which also stars Eric Roberts and the late Pat Morita, was filmed in 2005 while Gail was still a TNA Knockout. Lionsgate has sent us full details for the film’s release — including a high quality version of the DVD artwork. Check it out below:
Starring WWE Diva Gail Kim
NINJA’S CREEDPROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Starring Academy Award® nominee Pat Morita (Best Actor in a Supporting Role, The Karate Kid, 1984) in his final role, Lionsgate brings Ninja’s Creed to DVD and digital download this July. Combining eccentric martial arts choreography with a regal cast, this critically acclaimed film also stars WWE Diva Gail Kim, Academy Award® nominee Eric Roberts (Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Runaway Train, 1985) and Lalaine (Disney’s “Lizzie McGuire”). The film follows a ruthless assassin sent to Washington, D.C. on a mission to kill a high school teenager in order to end the modern day Himalayan Kingdom’s line of succession. Ninja’s Creed, which The Washington Post declared “has to be seen to be believed,” will hit shelves on DVD on July 20th featuring bonus materials such as behind-the-scenes interviews, outtakes and deleted scenes.

Last week’s Raw gave me a sense that the Divas Championship feud was on the decline, quality-wise, but I was hopeful that it was a one-week thing and the WWE would again devote the same attention to the feud that they had for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, it looks like they’re headed in that same southward direction, as this week we were given the type of match that completely exposes the lack of creavity on the part of the WWE booking staff: the mixed tag team match. And not only that, it was a mixed tag team match in which the parings made little sense: Eve teamed with Santino to take on the dynamic duo of… Maryse and William Regal? Did I miss a week of buildup that would connect these four people together? No? Okay, I’ll just go with it:
Before the match can begin, Santino tries to butter up Vladamir Kozlov, even putting up Eve for barter. She’s not into the idea. Anyways, with the bargaining over, Maryse and Eve start out the match, Maryse getting the first blow when she knees Eve in the stomach. She whip Eve into the ropes, but Eve turns the tables, rolling over Maryse’s back and hitting a dropkick. This is enough for Maryse, apparently, and she tags in William Regal. This brings Eve out and Santino in.
The men wrestle for a bit until Regal locks Santino into a crossface maneuver. Eve come in and breaks the hold in a move that’s uncharacteristic, but interesting. Babyfaces are often so one-dimensional, so it’s nice to see her break the rules a bit. Maryse, playing the vengeful babyface in this scenario, comes in and attacks Eve, and the two tussle. The referee is distracted by this, allowing Kozlov to come in, swerve Regal, and chokeslam him. Maryse, for some reason, leaves with him, and Eve and Santino get the win.

On this week’s episode of Wrestlicious TakeDown, the promotion crowned its first champion in Glory aka independent wrestler Christie Ricci. Glory took the crown in a hard-fought bout — perhaps the best match produced yet by Wrestlicious — against fellow indy veteran, Rain, known in the promotion as Felony.
Hot on the heels of the episode airing, we caught up with Glory to discuss how she feels about being the first ever Wrestlicious Champion.
First of all, congratulations on being the first ever Wrestlicious Champion. How does it feel?
Glory: It’s exciting. Wrestlicious, I’ve been so excited to be part of it so it’s really an honor just to be able to represent the company. The match I had with Rain [Felony], I thought it was an excellent match and to be able to beat a competitor like that, it’s always exciting.
Most of the Wrestlicious footage was filmed some time ago and the champion has been kept a secret. Was it hard for you to keep it under wraps?
Glory: [Laughs]. Not really. Goodness, we filmed, I think it was August 2008. Almost two years ago. So once the filming was done, it was one of those things that you hoped would take off because I really enjoyed the product and working for them but at the same time, I’ve done so many of these pilots/shows that are gonna make TV supposedly that you have one filming for and you never hear about again. So it’s nothing new to do a pilot and say, ‘Alright, that was fun… it was a pay check’, you know? And that’s it, you never really think about it again. Whereas, with Wrestlicious it was a little different, we were hoping that it did take off and something was done with it. At the same time, it’s still a product that is so outlandish and really not accepted so easily in today’s wrestling market that you’re just like, ‘Alright, well that was a fun weekend with the girls. We had a blast!’.
The champion doesn’t receive a belt, rather the ‘Wrestlicious crown’. Do you like this break from convention or would you prefer a title?
Glory: I definitely like the break from the conventional. When I grew up watching pro wrestling, it was all big gimmicks, interesting storylines and big larger-than-life characters and it wasn’t so serious. People try – especially the females – I feel like the females put a lot of emphasis on the seriousness of the athleticism and the sports side. That’s not really one of the reasons that I got into wrestling, even though I do appreciate that side, it’s not what I grew up loving and was so intrigued by. So, I like the break from convention. As far as a belt, it’s not really important. A belt, a crown… whatever. It’s kind of interesting, I was actually a beauty queen. I was Miss Teen Tennessee in high school when I was 17 years old. I still have my crown actually, so I probably have more crowns than I have actual belts.
It’s just after 4 AM and I’m feeling quite sprightly at the moment. The French Open is on my television. Rafa Nadal is playing. The entire Impact show is up on YouTube so I don’t have to leave the comfort of my livingroom desk and big screen TV in order to recap the Knockout action for each and every one of you. At the time of this introduction, I have yet to watch the match itself but it features Lacey Von Erich. That fact alone makes this an epic in the making and I know that secretly all of you are closet Lacey fans. Without Lacey, you’d have nothing to look forward too or complain about! And speaking of our girl, she her part of the show involved a tag team title defense alongside the devious Velvet Sky. The two Beautiful People were in action against Sarita and Taylor Wilde, who to my knowledge have done nothing to earn a tag title shot, but whatev. At least they’re on television for like the third week in a row so I’m not going to complain.
The Knockout portion of Impact starts with a stupid promo for Halfpint Brawlers which isn’t a surprise if you read spoilers. Something named Puppet is sitting at the commentary table with Taz and Mike Tenay. Apparently he’s the owner of the new midget show and he puts it over before we go to the backstage area. Christy is standing by with Roxxi, who last week defeated Madison Rayne in a non-title match. Roxxi is wearing her ugly brown outfit again, but Christy sports a pair of fit jeans and a white wife beater. Christy talks about Roxxi’s victory over Madison and welcomes her back to TNA with open arms. Roxxi replies that it’s great to be back and that she’s looking forward to her time in TNA. As she’s talking, the video of her injury is being played. I’m totally shutting my eyes because it’s just far to gross to watch again. Roxxi says that the position she’s in now is a familiar one but this time, she’s not going to let her chances slip through her fingers. Roxxi’s pretty pumped and ready to go, and Christy decides to drop a bomb. She mentions to Roxxi that because of her (Roxxi’s) victory last week, Roxxi will be Madison at Slammiversary for the TNA Knockouts Championship. Roxxi gets all excited over the opportunity and basically freaks out. Christy is super giddy herself and Roxxi finally takes the microphone and tells Madison that she will meet her at Slammiversary.
Christy sends it back to the ring area where Sarita and Taylor are waiting for the Beautiful People. Puppet is invited to stick around for commentary (oh joy) and the BPs begin to make their way to the ring. I refuse to talk about their entrance ever again so to take up this writing space I want to say that Rafael Nadal is wearing my favorite color combination at this year’s French Open – lime green and turquoise. True story. Instead of discussing the in-ring action, the announcers and the midget begin to talk about Halfpint Brawlers. Shocking. Velvet and Sarita are looking to kick things off and Sarita catches Velvet around the waist. Velvet reverses whatever Sarita was planning and hiptosses her to the mat. Velvet’s super proud of herself but Sarita’s not down for long. She Shawn Michaels’ up to her feet and when Velvet turns around she shrieks and goes back at Sarita. Sarita brings her down and goes for a quick roll-up, but she only gets a two count. Velvet’s back up in a flash but is brought down with an elbow. Sarita makes the tag to Taylor, then splashes Velvet just to do it. Taylor mounts her first bit of offense by somersaulting on top of Velvet and she goes for the cover. Another two count.
Returning TNA Knockout, Roxxi whose comeback aired last week on Impact, is shooting to the top of the Knockouts roster with a Knockouts Championship match against Madison Rayne at the Slammiversary pay per view on June 13th. The match was announced last night on Impact and comes after Roxxi defeated Rayne in a non-title match … Read more

I received my copy of Mickie James’ ‘Strangers & Angels’ CD yesterday, and listened to every song today, so I offered to do a review for Diva Dirt. They said to go for it, so here goes!
First, a disclaimer. I’ve been a fan of Mickie James’ since she debuted in the WWE in 2005. But I’ve promised to be an unbiased reviewer, and I will be.
The first song is the single, ‘Are You with Me?’. It’s a country rock-style song that celebrates being a country girl. A good pick to be the single, its upbeat, catchy, the type of song that you’d find yourself singing along with. I’m sure everyone’s heard this one so I’m not going to spend too much time on it.
The second is ‘Hollywood Movie Moment’, one of the three songs Mickie co-wrote. In her interview with John Canton, she says that this song came from when she found out her ex-fiancée had been cheating on her. It paints a picture of how any woman who’s been cheated on would have liked to react (or may have reacted, depending on the person’s temperament). Rather akin to Carrie Underwood’s ‘Before He Cheats’. It’s a similar country rock style tune. At times, her voice tends to become ‘uneven’, but the pain she felt at the time is recalled and poured into the song.
The third track is ‘I Call the Fight’. You might’ve gotten the impression this one would make references to wrestling, but instead boxing is the theme. It likens a boxing match to a turbulent relationship she’s been through, with more downs than ups. Mickie’s ‘calling the fight’ – she’s giving up and walking away, she can’t take the punches any longer. It’s a softer song, relying on quiet backup from drums, guitar and piano. You can really get a feel for Mickie’s voice in this one since the instruments aren’t overpowering. She has a sweet voice, strong in parts, soft in others. She sounds vulnerable in this song – it isn’t easy to give up but sometimes you have to.
Injured Knockouts, Angelina Love and Daffney have been given the all clear to return to action, Dixie Carter has announced via her Twitter page. She writes: Great news.
