Alexa Bliss is now a rock song

Yes, you read that right, Alexa Bliss is now a rock song. Bliss has announced that she is not only featured in the new music video for the American band, Bowling For Soup, but the song is actually named, “Alexa Bliss.”

Bowling four Soup, as their band name suggests, are known for their humor and wit when it comes to their lyrics. “Alexa Bliss” is no exception. The song includes nods to her Twisted Bliss finisher, sleeper holds, and even her cheating ways in the ring. It has a clever chorus that reads, “Hey – why can’t every girl be more like Alexa Bliss. Hey – how could a chick on TV make me feel like this.”

BFS is said to be one of Bliss’ favorite bands. They are known for their hit singles in the early 2000s such as “Girl All The Bad Guys Want” and “1985.”

You can view the behind the scenes of their music video below. The music video itself can be seen in the header above.

Jacqueline vs. Chavo Guerrero -Cruiserweight Title 05/06/04

For this month’s Free Match Friday’s, in honor of Black History Month, Diva Dirt is going to feature Black women in the industry. To kick things off will be a classic match that was history-makingย before making history was the cool thing to do. The match is Jacqueline challenging Chavo Guerrero for the Cruiserweight Championship.

Setting up the moment was Guerrero in the ring with his father, Chavo Sr. As the current Cruiserweight Champion at the time, he issued an open challenge. He stressed that this person could be literally anyone who wanted a crack at the title. He even would state it is him against the world.

What Guerrero (as well as everyone else) didn’t expect was Jacqueline to answer his challenge. Guerrero seemingly cocky throughout the match didn’t take her as a serious opponent and that cost him. After a low blow by Jacqueline when the referee was distracted by Chavo Sr., she rolled him up and over into a pin to get the three count. The crowd erupted and we had the first-ever female Cruiserweight Champion.

Sadly, Jacqueline would only go on to hold the title for about 12-days and lost it back to Guerrero at the Judgement Day pay-per-view. She would be released the following month prior to heading to TNA. She was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2016.

What are your memories on this match? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below!

Check back in with Diva Dirt next Friday for another Free Match Friday in celebration of Black History Month.

Nox vs. Kai set for TakeOver: Portland in a Street Fight

WWE has just made it official, Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai will battle it out in a street fight. This will take place at NXT TakeOver: Portland on Feb. 16 and is the second women’s match added to the card. The other match will be Rhea Ripley defending her NXT Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair.

The rivalry between these two women started in November when Kai turned on Nox. Both women were on Team Ripley for the first-ever women’s WarGames match. Kai viciously attacked Nox before entering the match and targeted her surgically repaired knee and tearing apart their friendship in the process. Nox would not appear in action for two months.

Last week, Nox would finally get her hands on Kai in a one-on-one match. The fight spilled to the outside and the two would battle through the crowd, making sure to get back into the ring before the 10-count.

Nox picked up a win by using her knee brace to take down Kai while the referee’s back was turned. This distraction was caused by Candice LeRae.

What are your thoughts on this match and the stipulation? Check back with Diva Dirt for reports of NXT TakeOver: Portland that will air on the WWE Network at 7 p.m. ET on Feb. 16.

Winners & Losers: SmackDown 01/31/20

Friday Night SmackDown was dubbed “Super” this week, but it had its moment where it wasn’t so super. This is mainly in reference to the only match of the night. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross took on Fire & Desire for what feels like the hundredth time. What makes matters even worse is I don’t think we know why they are wrestling each other, to begin with.

These two teams have had their fair share of feuds in the past, but this one has literally zero storyline. They have been having matches against each other for weeks now and no one knows why. The main story is actually between Mandy Rose and Otis. After all, she did get a date with Otis set for Valentine’s Day.

https://twitter.com/WWE_MandyRose/status/1223450464680923136?s=20

Fire & Desire suffer another loss after a short match between the two teams. Michael Cole repeatedly said that whoever wins may have a chance at the Women’s Tag Team Titles against The Kabuki Warriors. A match hasn’t been made official, but at least we are starting to talk about the tag titles again. Rose would take the pin after a neckbreaker by Cross sets up Bliss to deliver the Twisted Bliss.

Despite the one win Rose picked up on Bliss a couple weeks ago, this is the same result week after week.

Now on to a better moment of the night. Naomi has returned! That’s right, Naomi, who returned at the Royal Rumble, is now back on the blue brand. The SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley was out in the ring first. She was gloating about her win against Lacey Evans at the Royal Rumble.

She goes on and on about how much of a role model she is and how she has beaten everyone there is to beat. Expecting Charlotte Flair to pick her to face at WrestleMania, she calls out the Queen but gets the Glow instead.

Naomi’s music hits and her entrance had a new fresh element to it. She heads to the ring with an EDM Fishbowl placed upon her head. Once she enters the ring, she states that she could stand in the back with Bayley spilling lies. She reminded Bayley that she hasn’t beaten her when she so boldly stated she has defeated everyone.

Bayley would attack Naomi, but the Glow Queen would get the last laugh as she lays out the champion who winds up on the floor at ringside.

It looks like Naomi is going to be the next challenger for Bayley. This could very well just be a one-off at Elimination Chamber, or perhaps they will continue this through WrestleMania.

WINNER: Naomi

Naomi is the clear winner this week. She has made her long-awaited return and seemingly has claimed her spot in the title picture. The former two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion can use this title match/feud and so do the fans. Both SmackDown and RAW have been rather stagnant with the same talent being used and recycled storylines. This seems fresh between Naomi and Bayley and I am ready for it.

LOSERS: Fire & Desire

Unfortunately for Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, they continue to end up on the losers list. The only thing that would make either one a winner would be Rose securing a date with Otis. As much as I love these two together, the best thing may be to try them out as singles competitors. I do hope they can win the tag titles before they are broken up though.

Final Thoughts:

It is good to hear the tag team titles being talked about again, but we need more teams. Having Bliss and Cross go right back at the titles when they are the ones who lost them to the Kabuki Warriors is just recycling again.

Overall SmackDown has a similar problem that RAW has. The same few women used every week. For several weeks at least SmackDown was using every member of their roster, but now we are back to the same few (minus the inclusion of Naomi). Bring back, Dana Brooke. Where is Carmella? Let’s fix this.

Also can we start having more matches? If NXT can have two to three matches a week consistently then so can SmackDown and RAW.

I really think they may be ready to move a few NXT talent over. Hopefully this happens around WrestleMania time. Top picks to move over are Shayna Baszler, Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, and Candice LeRae. It would be nice to see those who haven’t won the NXT Championship to do so, but I don’t see Rhea Ripley dropping the title anytime soon.

Winners & Losers: RAW 01/27/20

One night removed from the Royal Rumble and the WrestleMania sign is up and the path is lit. As the winner of the Royal Rumble match, Charlotte Flair was slated to pick her opponent for the biggest event of the year. Instead of her telling the fans, we will have to wait.

Flair explained that she is not quite ready to announce who she wants to challenge. She is still deciding.

It didnโ€™t take long for Asuka to respond to this. The Kabuki Warriors made their way down to the ring as Asuka congratulated The Queen for her big victory. She explained that if she was in the Rumble match then she would have won. The Womenโ€™s Tag Team Champions would then attack Flair setting up for Asuka to take her on.

The match was very good and was given plenty of time. Both women would pull out everything in their arsenal to put the other away. Asuka had a moment where she almost had the submission between an Octopus hold that transferred into a Triangle but it couldnโ€™t keep Flair down.

After much avoidance, Flair was able to get the Empress into the Figure Four. As she bridged into the Figure Eight in the corner, Sane hit the elbow from the top rope causing the disqualification. Flair would then be able to fight off both Sane and Asuka to end the segment.

The second match of the show was the advertised Lana vs. Liv Morgan. The match was solid. Personally, I would have liked it to go for a few more minutes, but it did its purpose. Both women looked good and Morgan was definitely highlighted. It was good to have it boiled down to just the women with Bobby Lashley and Rusev banned from ringside.

If this storyline continues it should be kept that way. As of now all we know is that Morgan and Lana were an item. There needs to be more put into the storyline aspect of it.

Other women of the show included a backstage interview/promo from Becky Lynch. With her win over Asuka, the RAW Womenโ€™s Champion has now dumped the โ€œI am being protectedโ€ persona. She is now back to the โ€œI am an ass kickerโ€ persona. It is evident that she feels like she has gone through everyone at this point. So who is next? Cue Shayna?

Zelina Vega inserted herself into the United States Championship match. She would break up the pin as Humberto Carrillo was about to defeat Andrade. This would cause the disqualification and Andrade retained. Afterwards he was attacked outside the ring on the exposed pavement by Carrillo. It was reported later that night that Andrade is now suspended after violating WWEโ€™s wellness policy.

Letโ€™s get to the Winners and Losers of the week.

WINNER: Asuka

Asuka may not have won her match, but she didnโ€™t lose either. To me it was a big win that she didnโ€™t lose. Charlotte Flair getting to stand tall after the disqualification was a little too much, but it is expected.

We need to get the tag team division built up. Move a few women over from NXT and letโ€™s get The Kabuki Warriors shining on that level again.

WINNER: Becky Lynch

Lynch delivers another excellent promo. It is riddled in the fact that she has done all there is that she needs to do at the very moment. Her next goal is to be remembered as the best ever. Many feel that her reign has become boring and maybe it has had stale moments. However, excited for a fresh competitor for her and it most likely be Shayna Baszler.

WINNER: Liv Morgan

It was good to finally get to see Liv in a singles match. Loved her entrance and her attire. I feel like I fall in the middle with her continuing to feud with Lana, but at this moment there isnโ€™t much else to do. She just needs to continue to do her thing and shine.

LOSERS:

Another RAW where it is hard to point out an exact loser. Every woman did there thing this week and what was needed. Who would you list on your loser list?

The only thing that continues to be a trend is that Charlotte wonโ€™t put others over. That idea lasted for about a month or so when she was losing to The Kabuki Warriors and even then Becky would eat the pin/submit more. It will continue to be this way for years to come.

What were your thoughts on this weekโ€™s RAW? What were your likes and dislikes. Letโ€™s converse in the comment section below.

Charlotte Flair to decide her WrestleMania opponent on RAW

Charlotte Flair has won the Royal Rumble, so now it is time to decide who she will face at WrestleMania. WrestleMania in Tampa, Fla. may still be a couple months away but the road starts now. Based off of the current champions we could see a match that we have seen numerous times before.

Currently, after their successful victories over the weekend, Becky Lynch is still the RAW Womenโ€™s Champion and Bayley is still the SmackDown Womenโ€™s Champion. Flair has battled with and alongside of Lynch for the past several years. They, along with Ronda Rousey, were the first women to main event WrestleMania last year.

Flair was interviewed in a WWE Exclusive after her win. She had the following to say about her potential opponents:

“Since Bayley can only beat me when I’m unconscious, everyone remembers Money in the Bank. If I was Becky, I’d be scared.โ€

Flair would further state that we will find out who she will be facing on this weekโ€™s RAW. WWE has just confirmed this on Twitter.

There is a third option that hasnโ€™t been considered before and that is the NXT Championship. If WWE wanted to provide something fresh, she could challenge Rhea Ripley. NXT has been seen as a third brand ever since their debut on the USA Network at the end of September.

After Lynch took care of her final debt in that of Asuka, she was also asked about Flairโ€™s win in the Rumble. She had the following to say:

โ€œDoes it make me nervous? I’ve beaten that woman all across the world for nearly two years straight. If she wants to challenge me, I’ll happily beat her again. If the world wants to seeย Charlotte Flairย versus Becky Lynch round 387, they still know the outcome. Still The Man. Still the champ. Tonight proved that. Asuka was my biggest challenge and I proved that I am the greatest of all time.”

We shall find out who Flair picks soon enough. What match would you like to see happen at WrestleMania? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
