Latest results from WILD Wrestling in LA:

Los Angeles, CA. – Changes had to be made to the announced WILD World Championship match last night at Pro Wrestling Entertainment in Los Angeles. Tabitha Buck, young cousin of TNA’s Generation Me, was unable to appear. “The Bloodthirsty Vixen” Amanda, who happened to be in the audience at the show, offered to take Tab’s place. WILD Owner Travis Leland allowed Amanda to be in the match, but could not allow it to be for the title.

“She’s lost every WILD match she’s been in,” said Leland. “I can’t let her have a title shot before the women who beat her get theirs.”

The match was fast and furious, with many lucha-libre-inspired moves. At one point, O’Shea pulled off a running hurricanrana, sending Amanda crashing to the mat. Amanda, however was noticeably larger and more powerful than the champion. Near the end of the match, as Amanda was in control of the firey redhead and the referee was distracted, O’Shea grabbed a nearby energy drink can and cracked Amanda in the head with it. With her opponent dizzied by the blow, Lucky rolled up Amanda for the victory.

Last week, Tara noted via Twitter that she had an MRI on her elbow as it was not healing. After getting the results today, she wrote:

Detailed Report & Pictures from ACW (Featuring 10,000 Tacks Match & Dog Collar Match)

Diva Dirt reader Brandon sent along his report from the Anarchy Championship Wrestling show last night, which featured a huge 10,000 Tacks Match between Athena and Rachel Summerlyn. Later, Lady Poison defeated Portia Perez to become the new ACW American Joshi Champion in a Dog Collar Match.

Check out his report and pictures below:

Athena vs. Rachel Summerlyn – 10,000 Thumbtacks Match. HOLY S%#$!!!!! You talk about the Daffney taking crazy bumps. Well after seeing this match, You can do nothing else but to condole these two woman wrestlers by going through the punishment. Rachel is highly known for these death-style matches, so it was expected for her, and not Athena. Athena in person is H-O-T!! As for the match, to me, it was my pick of the two Joshi matches. Crazy spots on the tacks from both women, like Athena snapmaring Rachel on the tacks, Athena diving through the ropes on Rachel through chairs, Rachel hitting her signature Gory Bomb on Athena through the tacks, then pulling the Texas Cloverleaf on Athena on the tacks, but Athena’s Submission Squad buddies interfered, and broke up the hold. The end happened when Athena jumped from the stage on Rachel through a barbed-wire table full of tumbtacks with diving double knees on Rachel’s face, and got the three count.

Fans Can Now Create Their Own Diva Merchandise

20

Good news if you’re a fan of Alicia Fox, Eve, Kelly Kelly, Maryse, Michelle McCool or Natalya. Bad news if you’re a fan of anyone else!

WWE has created its own CafePress-esque website, WWECreate where you can create your own coffee mugs, posters, stickers and mouse mats using the likeness of one of the above listed Divas, or by using the generic WWE Divas logo.

If you don’t like the selection of Divas they have, you can also upload your own pictures which would circumvent the limited choice.

You can check out WWECreate here.

Thoughts: If you’re looking to create your own Beth or Melina merch, just as an example, no doubt you’ll be bitterly disappointed with WWE’s limited selection but as noted, you can upload your own pictures. I’m not sure if this something like this will work because fans are so conditioned to having ‘official merchandise’ at WWEShop.com, but it’s cool to see WWE find new ways to market the likenesses of its talent.

What do you think? Would you purchase a custom Diva mouse-mat?

SmackDown Redux (January 14th, 2011): The Good. The Bad. The Ugly.

The title itself should explain the theme of tonight’s Redux. This week’s edition of Friday night SmackDown truly was good, bad, and ugly. But before we jump to conclusions, lets take a minute to reflect on the week in wrestling in general. There was a horrific match at TNA Genesis (popular consensus, of course. I, myself, have not watched it). There was an axed Diva’s match from Raw and lets face it, that’s not always a bad thing. Superstars saw the underused and underrated Alicia Fox and Gail Kim square off in a match that many people are saying is one of the most enjoyable matches in awhile (again, I have not seen it). And to cap things off, SmackDown delivered.

And it delivered in a truly ridiculously wonderful way.

To kick us off this week, we’re going to launch right into the good. That’s the whole point of good, bad, and ugly right? Michelle McCool (with Layla at ringside) taking on Beth Phoenix looks damn good on paper. It certainly looked brilliant when I saw the spoilers earlier in the week. The question is, did it deliver?

Lay-Cool, aka the Dynamic Duo, make their way to the ring first. Layla is rocking a hot, blue mini-dress and boots, while Michelle is in her green ring attire that I don’t like very much. They’re still carrying their Slammys and they’re still delicious heels. They play to the crowd as only they can and they get inside the ring to wait for Michelle’s opponent, the one and only Glamazon. Beth walks out in a rather plain Glamasuit but the crowd doesn’t care because they’re in Birmingham. No offense to my fellow Alabamians, but the majority of the state isn’t really up to par fashion wise. I am the exception. Anyway, once Beth is inside the ring and her entrance dies down, the bell rings and the match begins. The two statue-esque blonds circle one another. Beth gains the early advantage when she breaks the lock-up and forces Michelle into the turnbuckle. She drives her shoulder repeatedly into Michelle’s mid-section and follows up with several nice punches to the former school teacher’s skull. Beth finally backs off and Michelle moves from the corner, but she’s still positioned by the ropes. Beth whips her across the ring and takes her down by clubbing her in the chest.

Impact Write-Up (January 13th, 2011): The Wrath of a Woman Scorned

Could it be?! Oh yes! It is time for yet another edition of the weekly Impact Write-Up with yours truly. Last week, we witnessed a rather weird tag team match-up between two teams that had to have been picked out of a hat. However, with an assist from the Elbow of Death, evil prevailed once again. This week, we have a returning Knockout surrounded by major controversary. We also have yet another tag team match but this time, the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Titles are on the line. Will the current odd couple champions maintain or will the power duo come by yet another knockout victory? What kind of trouble will the former Mrs. Angle get herself into? You’re only going to find out by following me down the rabbit hole! Don’t be afraid. I’ll hold your hand and in the end, I promise to give you cookies. Yes, the soft kind. Now GO!

Our first glimpse into Knockout beauty this week, comes in the form of a returning Karen Jarrett. She starts out the show, as the Knockouts should every week, by arriving to the arena with her husband, Jeff. Karen looks gorgeous, as usual, fabulous in a bright blue strapless dress that I adore. New marriage does a body good, apparently. The couple canoodle and smooch before heading into the arena. A little while later, they are caught walking to the Immortal locker room when Jarrett stops her. He wants to make sure that she’s ready for this encounter. Karen says that she’s been sitting at home for two years and she’s never been more ready in her life. You go girl! Rawr!

Later in the show, Karen and Jeff Jarrett are seen walking down the backstage corridor. Jeff cuts a small promo on Kurt Angle, who just happens to be Karen’s ex-husband and his opponent at Genesis. Karen admires her man and he blushes on her just as much. He asks her to do just one thing which is not to lose her temper. Karen claims she’s as cool as a cucumber but by the look on Jeff’s face, he thinks otherwise. I think we all know that if your ex-husband was making your life hell and you’d sat back for two years watching, you’d be like a ticking time bomb. It is time to let the drama unfold!

Raw Redux Does WWE Superstars (January 13th, 2011): Fighting Fire with Fire

Take Gail Kim in a fierce and sexy orange outfit and put her in the ring with Alicia Fox‘s fiery red mane. You’d be forgiven if you thought you were watching an ‘Inferno Match’.

In the first Divas match on Superstars in 2011, the Raw Divas went one-on-one hoping to build momentum going into a brand new year. Both have all the tools it takes to be a top Diva in WWE, but just can’t seem to get there. Could a victory here set the tone for the year ahead? Let’s find out…

Foxy is out first and while I loved her red hair when she first debuted it, it does not look good here. Next out is Gail Kim in show-stopping orange. She just gets finer with age, doesn’t she?

The match kicks off with a lock-up before Alicia takes control, wrenching Gail’s arm. The former Women’s Champ shows her experience, rolling through and kicking Fox off of her. They lock up again as Fox backs Gail into the corner and the referee tries to pry them apart. Using the distraction, Kim bolts through the ropes and Fox eats turnbuckle as she tries to lunge at Gail.

Lay-Cool Win WWE Magazine’s ‘Beauties of the Year’

44

The awards keep rackin’ up for Layla and Michelle McCool.

As well as several Diva Dirt Year-End Awards between them, WWE Magazine has also voted Lay-Cool its ‘Beauties of the Year’ for 2010.

You can read their ‘acceptance speech’ in the January issue of the magazine.

Jamilia Craft Ranked ‘One to Watch’ by Pro Wrestling Illustrated

3

Following in the footsteps of Mia Yim last year, SHIMMER Academy graduate Jamilia Craft is the latest female wrestler to be awarded Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s ‘One to Watch’ ranking.

Craft is profiled (as seen above) in the March 2011 issue of PWI which is on sale now.

Jamilia made her professional match debut just one year ago against MsChif at Pro Wrestling Respect. Since then she’s appeared for SHIMMER, WSU and on ROH television. She was also one of our ‘Five to Watch’ last year.

Congratulations to Jamilia on this honor and a strong rookie year.

Colt Cabana Claims Bella Twins Threatened to Quit WWE at One Point

62

Interesting anecdote from ROH star, Colt Cabana on his latest Art of Wrestling podcast.

Cabana claims that while he was in WWE’s developmental territory a few years ago along with the Bella Twins, Brie and Nikki threatened to quit the company if they weren’t called up to the main roster.

During a discussion about his time in WWE with guest Joey Ryan, Cabana said: “They called up the office and said: ‘Hey, if we don’t go on the road we’re quitting’. And the next day, they’re on the road.”

He then added that he would have probably been fired for the same stunt: “I don’t wanna do that. If I call up and say, ‘Put me on the road or I’m quitting’, I’m gone.”

You can listen to the podcast here.

Lizzy Valentine Says No to WWE, Yes to Lucha Libre USA

Independent wrestler, Lizzy Valentine has revealed that she turned down the opportunity to audition for WWE Tough Enough and will instead be joining Lucha Libre USA.

Earlier this month, Valentine — who was once part of MTV’s Wrestling Society X with WWE Superstar, Evan Bourne — noted that she was asked to submit an application for Tough Enough by the show’s producers, Shed Media.

In an update, she wrote on her Facebook page today: “To answer your question-I decided not to submit for Tough Enough. Instead I will be working for Lucha Libre USA!! Can’t wait to be back on MTV!!”

Valentine also appeared on season one of Wrestlicious as lipsynching popstar, Kandi Kisses.

As we revealed earlier today, Isis the Amazon and ODB are also being added to Lucha Libre USA’s second season.

Two Familiar Faces Join Lucha Libre USA

Season two of Lucha Libre USA will see the addition of two familiar faces.

Former NXT rookie, Isis the Amazon (Aloisia) and former TNA Knockouts Champion, ODB have been signed up to appear at tapings in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Isis will debut at next weekend’s tapings, however is in Albuquerque doing promotion for LLUSA this weekend.

Meanwhile, ODB will appear at the February 19th taping.

They will join the ranks of Reby Sky and Tigresa Caliente (Rhaka Khan) on the female side of the roster.

No word yet on when LLUSA season two will premiere on MTV2.

Anarchy Championship Wrestling 10,000 Tacks Match This Weekend

4

Texas-based Anarchy Championship Wrestling has two big female matches this weekend.

First up is Rachel Summerlyn vs Athena in a ‘10,000 Tacks Match’. The feud between these two has been brewing for some time in ACW, which is home promotion to both. The tacks came into play at last November’s ACW show when Athena viciously attacked Summerlyn, resulting in her landing in a pool of tacks.

That sets up this Sunday’s match between the two.

Also on the card is a ‘Dog Collar Match’ for the ACW American Joshi Championship between Portia Perez and Lady Poison.

More information and tickets can be purchased here.

Thoughts: It’ll be interesting to see how the tacks match plays out. It’s not often that we hear women are involved in a match like this. Of course, the one that comes to mind is TNA’s bout between Daffney and Taylor Wilde a couple of years ago. Good luck to all involved.

TNA Knockouts to Get ‘Mad Sexy’ Again

7

Good news for Christy Hemme: she’s landed another hosting gig!

‘TNA Knockouts: Mad Sexy’, the pay per view compilation show dedicated to the ladies of TNA, has been renewed for volume two. The company announced the latest volume in its fan newsletter. You can read more here.

The original volume aired on demand via cable and satellite last October and featured a mix of past Knockouts matches with Hemme as host gluing the show together.

The latest edition of ‘Mad Sexy’ will be available on demand from February 1st.

Thoughts: I actually managed to catch ‘Mad Sexy Volume 1’ and thought it was silly. It came off as a Skinemax type deal with more emphasis on girls getting it on (in the ring) rather than the athletic prowess and talent that they have. Hemme also promised to show ‘sexy, naughty’ pictures at the end of the show which turned out to be lingerie pictures from TNA’s website. I think it’s pretty clear which type of audience this compilation show is targeted to…

Pro Wrestling SUN Main Event Announced: Allison Danger vs Madison Eagles

3

It’ll be SHIMMER co-founder versus SHIMMER Champion on March 20th at Pro Wrestling SUN, the new all-female promotion from Allison Danger and WORLD-1 Wrestling.

Danger will face Madison Eagles in the main event of the debut show in Jackson, NJ.

But there’s more…

In Video: Dating with the Divas on NXT

30

In case you missed it on Tuesday night (and you’re forgiven if you did), here’s the double date segment that featured the Bella Twins, Daniel Bryan and his rookie, Derrick Bateman.

Continuing the sisterly bickering, Nikki Bella once again showed us just why she is one of the Divas to keep an eye out for in WWE. Even though she seems to be flying under the radar, I’d argue that she is the Diva right now who is being given the most opportunity to show personality and spark. She’s certainly taking the ball and running with it.

Overall, a fun segment on NXT.

See you never next time.
