In case anyone was wondering what that catchy little tune was during the NXT 3 promos last night, it was ‘Make the Rain Fall’ by Kevin Rudolf. Looks like this will be the theme song for NXT 3 which begins next Tuesday on Syfy. Rudolf’s previous singles have also been used by WWE. ‘Let It … Read more

* AJ Lee: 23-year old AJ, real name April Jeanette, was signed by WWE last spring. Prior to WWE, she had been working on the independent circuit as Miss April. AJ primarily worked in the New Jersey area for Women Superstars Uncensored where she was one half of the WSU Tag Team Champions at the time of her signing. Since joining WWE developmental, she had been going by the name AJ Lee and is the current Queen of FCW after defeating Serena for the crown on an episode of FCW TV.

Pro: SmackDown’s official consultant, Vickie Guerrero.
It’s the season finale of NXT 2 tonight at 10pm ET on Syfy. Will Michelle McCool and Layla’s rookie, Kaval win or will it be Alex Riley or Michael McGillicutty? Discuss the show in the comments!

With the finale of NXT season two on Tuesday (vote Kaval!), attention turns to season three, which if last season is any indication, should begin the very next week. And like the first season, we can probably expect the season three rookies to be announced on the second season finale on Tuesday.
Speculation has been mounting since earlier this month that next season will include Diva rookies for the first time ever. According to a report by the Figure Four Weekly newsletter, season three will feature four male rookies and four female rookies. Well, using our super-sleuthing and powers of deduction, we think we may know who is set to be part of the next season. Our clues below…
Syfy cameras at FCW taping: Reported by PWInsider, Syfy had its cameras at the FCW taping on Thursday night, which pretty much confirms that season three is a go. (I’m assuming that Syfy’s cameras were there to film footage for the little introductory video packages that they show.) On that night, AJ Lee, Aksana, Liviana and Naomi Night were part of the taping, as well as Jamie Keyes who already has an announcing spot on NXT.
Friday in Fort Myers: FCW held a show yesterday in Fort Myers which was attended by our friend, Bobby Lea Burchill, who offers up some more clues. At that show, once again, there was a camera crew filming the whole event including a Divas tag team match. Who was part of that match? The same suspects as above. AJ, Aksana, Liviana and Naomi Night.
But there’s more…
A lot of us, myself included, were skeptical that the WWE could follow up their best NXT episode of the season with something amazing this week. And low and behold, those of us who were skeptical were right. NXT was nothing more than a lackluster show tonight and unfortunately, that meant all of us got the shaft when it came to Laykavool awesomeness. Maybe the WWE is simply saving all their cards for a jam packed season finale next week?
NXT kicked off with Jamie Keyes introducing the WWE pros. Laycool come out in their Flawless hoodies, with Michelle McCool in skintight jeans and Layla in small little shorts. MVP, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, and Zach Ryder are there in attendance as well. The remaining pros are still on tour seeing as how this episode was taped last week. The rookies come out next and it’s insane to me that it’s down to the final three. Kaval, Alex Riley, and Michael McGillicutty walk out and join Matt Striker in the ring. He introduces them as the final three and asks them how it feels to be in the finals of NXT. McGillicutty goes first.
Michael begins his speech by acknowledging the WWE Universe. He says he has the greatest job in the world and how these have been the greatest days of his life. He gives a shout out to Kofi, for helping him along the way, and Michael says that performing in the same ring as his father has made his entire journey worth it.

Tonight’s episode of NXT was nothing short of epic. We were treated to two dramatic eliminations, Laykavool cuteness that was almost unbearable, another amazing match featuring Kaval and Husky Harris, and a down right brilliant promo delivered to us by Cody Rhodes. So much went on tonight that I’m not sure where I should even begin. One thing is for certain, the double elimination proved to be the catalyst of the best episode of NXT this season.
Jamie Keyes, who looked stunning like always, kicked the show off this week by bringing out the NXT rookies. Husky Harris, Kaval, Joe Michael McGillicutty, Alex Riley, and Percy Watson all took their turn walking out to the ring. Once everyone had made their entrance, Matt Striker (looking yummy in nice man jeans, navy button down, and nude colored vest) took over. Striker reminded everyone that tonight was a double elimination and in two weeks, NXT would crown the winner of season two. Striker said that tonight the pressure was on and that the WWE was going to give the rookies one minute to speak their mind about any topic they wanted… except for why they should NOT be eliminated. “Showtime” stepped up to the plate first and his topic was 3 D.
Percy opened up with a joke that had the potential to be funny, but because it came from it was a big fail. He said the 3 D’s are how he lives his life: desire, determination, and dedication. Desire because you have to know what you want, and dedication because you have to be dedicated to your craft. He said that he has the determination to succeed and win this season of NXT. He basically failed on that account, but more on that later!

Tonight’s episode of NXT featured the elimination of the sympathetic favorite for the season, as well as a familiar returning to the number one position. In addition to the NXT drama, we had two old rivals go at it one more time with an all too predictable ending. Who didn’t see John Morrison losing for the 2307029710239th time to The Miz? Ho hum. Just another edition of NXT! At least Michelle McCool and Layla looked fabulous!
Tonight, Kaval competed in a rematch from Monday Night Raw. For the second night in a row, he partnered up with Percy Watson and Lucky Cannon to face the team of Alex Riley, Husky Harris, and Michael McGillicutty.
Percy and Husky began the match and Husky controlled the tempo for awhile. It went back and forth, then Alex got the tag. He tried to make Percy his woman, but Percy was able to hit an absolute sick move on Alex that could have very well knocked him out. Riley staggered around on the outside for a bit before gathering himself. He finally made it back into the ring.
Alex got Percy down on the mat but Percy ended up fighting back to his feet. Alex kept his cool and maintained his control, before Percy was able to hit a few offensive moves and tag in Lucky. Lucky continued to be really pretty while he fought with the Varsity Villain. Eventually Lucky got in position to pin Alex, but Alex was out after the one. Alex got out of the ring and his teammates began to badger him. Alex screamed that he was doing the best he could and before anything else could happen, Lucky came flying over the top rope and Alex was squashed underneath his weight. NXT went to commercial break.
When the show returned, Michael had things firmly in hand against Lucky. They showed some highlights of what happened during the break, and Husky got tagged in. He started brutalizing Lucky and after the dirty work was done, Alex got tagged back in. He tried to pin Lucky, but he kicked out. Alex kept Lucky from tagging in one of his partners, and then Alex isolated him in the heel corner. Michael was tagged back in. The crowd tried to spur Lucky on and he finally mounted some offense. The crowd screamed for him to make the tag. He got it! The hot tag was made to Kaval and he began to beat down Michael.

WWE NXT season three will feature Diva rookies, reports the Figure Four Weekly newsletter. The next season will supposedly feature four male rookies and four female rookies. The reason behind the move is due to the company running low on fresh male wrestlers in FCW, according to Bryan Alvarez. WWE has already used 16 of … Read more
Last night’s episode of NXT was a hot mess, and I’m still trying to figure out if that’s a good or bad thing in this case. I knew something interesting was going to happen when the Mediacom digital menu said “the first ever kissing contest is held.” What I didn’t expect was the sheer hotness that was Layla/Kaval, the pure joy of seeing Michael McGillicutty and Percy Watson lose, and the weird, overwhelming urge to make out with Alex Riley take over me. I experienced many emotions last night, as did a lot of you who are going to read this. With a lack of anything else to say in this introduction (because words can’t truly describe how epic NXT was… ) I say we get right on down to business!
NXT kicked off with the introduction of the pros and then the rookies. The rookies all went to the ring where Matt Striker basically addressed the situation from last week and told the rookies that tonight they all had to get on the same page. He told them that their challenge for tonight is a kissing contest and while they looked confused/stunned/shocked, he introduced the sexiest women on television, the self-proclaimed co-Women’s Champions, Laycool! Michelle McCool and Layla slowly stood up and looked at each other, before making their way to the ring. Each woman had her own tube of lipgloss and they both took the time to generously apply a new amount using Michelle’s belt for a mirror. Eventually, Laycool end up in the ring and Striker happily tells them that the show is all theirs.

Tonight’s jammed packed episode of NXT brought forth a well deserved elimination, a ton of Lay-Kav-Ool cuteness, more Percy Watson idiocy, and a newly ranked number one rookie which some people may very well find questionable. With so much going on tonight, it’s going to be hard to touch on all of it. So buckle your seat belts. Welcome everyone to NXT (the Lay-Kav-Ool recap version)!!!!!
Those of us who love Kaval definitely got all we could handle of him tonight and then some! In addition to an in-ring promo, we got a Kaval video package, backstage segment with Laycool and Husky Harris, and a great match. The backstage segment began immediately after Kaval’s video package concluded. Michelle McCool and Layla were making a fuss over him, like usual. They were wanting to know why he wasn’t smiling, where his pink Laycool shirt was, and then Layla demanded to know if Kaval was hurt. Before he could answer, Michelle wanted to know who did it too him and while Kaval was trying to speak over the two pros, Husky Harris purposely bumped into the smaller man. Husky, in the role of schoolyard bully claimed he didn’t see Kaval standing there because you know, Kaval is so little. Husky went on to say that Kaval just isn’t very noticeable which drew the wrath of Laycool. Michelle flipped out and screamed at Husky that Kaval was noticeable which is why he was ranked number one. Layla got an attitude and started screaming number one while Michelle continued to berate Husky and ask him where he was in the last poll. They attempt to get up in Husky’s face but Kaval holds them back from doing any damage to the Army Tank. Husky is just beside himself with amusement over this whole situation. He calls the situation “precious” and accuses Kaval of letting his girlfriends do the talking for him. Kaval fires back that he doesn’t have to speak. He does all his talking in the ring. Both men agree that they are going to have fun with each other tonight. Kaval smirks at the end and walks away, and the girls follow him. But believe me, they get their parting shots in as well. Michelle, with attitude and malice dripping from her voice, stares down Husky Harris and tells him that that is real talk. Layla echoes and they follow behind Kaval as the scene fades on a sneering Husky Harris.
When NXT returns, Michelle’s theme is playing and Kaval is in the ring. Jamie Keyes, who looks amazing, announces him and the bell rings to start the match. Husky goes right for Kaval, but the 10-year veteran has everything under control as he kicks at Harris and sends him back. Harris plans another course of attack, but Kaval is ready for this as well. Finally, Husky manages to use his size advantage to take Kaval into the corner and he begins to beat him down. Kaval absorbs the blows and when Husky goes to toss him across the ring, Kaval pulls off a somersault to land on his feet and get back into the match. Laycool cheer for this and encourage the crowd to do so as well. Kaval gets poised to strike in the corner as Husky comes charging at him. Kaval’s feet connect with Husky’s face and then as Husky is off balance, Kaval flies at him and sends him down to the mat. Laycool absolutely mark and I wish I could say what Cody is doing, but the camera doesn’t want to show him. Ha!
In a tragic twist of events, the adorable NXT trio affectionately known as Lay-Kav-Ool (Layla, Kaval, and Michelle McCool) played no real part in the show last week due to the presence of the dastardly (and oh so sexy) Nexus and the absence of Laycool. It was a dark, dark day in NXT history and I had high hopes that this week would bring about a well deserved does of awesomeness. That didn’t really happen and it’s unfortunate because an elimination is coming next week and the last thing we want to see is Kaval sent packing. One thing I did discover during this week’s episode is that Kaval’s deep voice reminds me of the Old Spice guy from the new commercials. For those of you who don’t know the Old Spice guy, go YouTube Old Spice “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like.” It’s television commercial brilliance if I do say so myself.
The Kaval portion of NXT sure did take it’s time getting here tonight and it’s very sad that he had to share the stage with that freak, Eli Cottonwood. If Cottonwood doesn’t go home next week, then there’s no justice in this world. Now the reason why Eli, Kaval, and their pros are on stage is because throughout the show, NXT host, the delicious Matt Striker, has been asking all of them why their guy should be number one in next week’s NXT poll. Kaval is the second to last one to speak, but before we could enjoy him, we had to suffer through Eli Cottonwood’s promo first. Laycool begin to boo as John Morrison begins to speak on behalf of his rookie. I can’t blame them for booing because whenever you begin a sentence with “Last week I was sitting in the airport eating a breakfast burrito…” you know this is automatically going to be a fail. But according to Morrison, while he was eating that darn breakfast burrito, the NXT rookies all walked by him. A little kid who was sitting close to Morrison asked his mother who the big tall guy was. Morrison just found it oh so amazing that out of all the rookies, the little kid would pick out Eli Cottonwood. Morrison says he feels as if Eli could be the long term investment and that he keeps learning and improving.
Sorry, JoMo. That’s still not enough reason to vote for Eli especially since I just realized he has the same stupid facial expression as my ex-thing (not worthy enough for the title of “boyfriend.”) I kind of want to scream right now. Ugh.
Eli takes the microphone and goes over to Matty and asks him who he is going to vote for. He gets all up in Striker’s grill and demands to know who Striker is going to vote for. Matt finally agrees to vote for Eli, and then Eli starts to go off on some tangent about how no one is more intimidating that he is. Thankfully, Striker cuts him off and goes to Laycool.

Last week on Season Two of NXT, we were all privy to the first elimination of the season, as well as a shocking revelation of the who the number one rookie happened to be. Titus O’Neil, the rookie charge of Zack Ryder, was sent packing, and Laycool’s little package of dynamite, Kaval, was announced as the NXT number one. With the rankings in place, this week’s results count more than ever. Those who are highly ranked, now have to perform with the pressure of living up to expectations. Those who have a low ranking, can only hope to move up. How did the rookies fare and more importantly, how did our NXT number one Kaval fare?
The Miz comes to the ring first and he has Alex Riley in tow. As usual, The Miz is brimming with confidence and Riley definitely has similar mannerisms. The Miz is looking to avenge his rookie’s loss to Kaval last week. NXT goes to commercial in the middle of The Miz’s entrance but nothing is really missed because when the show returns, Miz and Riley are standing in the corner, talking. Kaval is out next and Michelle McCool and Layla both spring from their seats. Both women absolutely come alive when Kaval appears in front of them. They rush to his side and start fussing with him. Michelle even takes her fingers and forces Kaval’s serious look into a smile. Eventually he’s had enough and takes off down the ramp and this forces the girls to practically sprint in order to keep up with him. They manage and Layla even strokes Kaval’s head along the way. He gets away from Laycool and enters the ring. He strips his pink shirt off and jacket, and gets ready for the match. Both men are intense, including The Miz, because he knows this is going to be no easy task.
The bell rings and the two combatants circle each other, both looking for the perfect opening. Kaval is the first to strike with a nice kick to Miz, which prompts the United States Champion to take a step back. They start staring one another down again and Kaval once again hits Miz with a nice, crisp strike. The Miz backs off again. Finally, the two lock horns and Miz forces Kaval back into the corner. Kaval is able to turn this around on his pro opponent, but the referee is quick to get in there and pull the men apart. The Miz comes flying out of the corner with a devastating boot to the face of Kaval and Laycool shriek in terror on the outside. The shot has forced Kaval to the mat. The Miz goes on the attack and slams a vicious knee right into Kaval’s lower back. The smaller rookie is hurting and Miz begins to strike Kaval near his collarbone with some pretty hard looking elbows. All this is taking place in front of Laycool and the co-Women Champions are beside themselves. They’re screaming and begging Kaval to fight through this attack. They just want him to stay strong.

NXT Rookie, Kaval is profiled in the latest edition of ‘The NXT Interview’ on WWE.com. Last week on NXT, we were promised that not only would us fans get a chance to vote, but the pros would cast their votes as well. I’m sad to say that I wasn’t home to vote due to a prior engagement, but had I been home, then maybe Titus wouldn’t have left the competition. But nonetheless, the fourth episode of NXT proved to be full of drama, suspense, highs, lows, tears, ect. To date, this has to be the best episode and we finally got a chance to see where the WWE was going to go with this. In addition to the first ever rankings, we got two matches (one awful and one great), and a surprise elimination followed up by a heartfelt speech. Missed NXT? Go watch it. But read this first, of course! Our adorable Kaval was in the great match of the night so before we get into anything else, lets take a look at that.
Titus powers Lucky into the ropes, and Riley shows off good heel instincts by grabbing a handful of the Pretty One’s hair. That’s enough of a distraction to knock Lucky off his game and he gets taken down with a clothesline. The referee never saw it because Cottonwood had him locked in some type of conversation. They were probably trying to figure out which shampoo is better for damaged hair: Herbal Essence Hydralicious or something fruity smelling by Garnier Fructis. O’Neil stomps away on Lucky and the heels decide to isolate the handsome young upstart by keeping him in their corner. Titus makes the tag to Alex Riley, and we get our first look at Miz 2.0.
They’ve got the Women’s Championship and now they have the #1 ranked Rookie on WWE NXT! Team Lay-Cool have much reason to celebrate as Kaval was voted #1 in the first Pros’ Poll of season two last night. This season, the fans’ vote makes up 50% of the result along with the Pros’ Poll.
