Rima Fakih: “WWE Doesn’t Seem Interested in Me”

47

Former Miss USA Rima Fakih, who was a contestant on USA Network’s Tough Enough earlier this year, has stated that she thinks WWE isn’t interested in signing.

The 25-year-old bombshell, responding to a fan comment for her to join WWE, wrote: “WWE doesn’t seem interested in me maybe @TNA or mud wrestling might be LOL.”

Thoughts: I find it hard to believe WWE wouldn’t be interested in Rima — she has exactly the look they want. I wonder, though, if she can make the commitment they need to make WWE her full time career, considering she’s involved in many projects. I loved Rima on Tough Enough, and I would be happy to see her in WWE. Perhaps she should take up some training on her own and show them she’s committed.

FCW Watch: Aksana vs. Audrey Marie (Non-Title)

After a lengthy break from Diva action in FCW, we are back this week as on September 11th we were presented a non-title match between current Queen & Divas Champion, Aksana (complete with new music which brings back fond memories of TV Show, The Mole) and relative newcomer, Audrey Marie. Can Audrey score the upset? Or will Aksana continue to plow over the division as she cements her status as the best of the best?

Check it out below!

Out first comes Audrey Marie, decked out in cotton candy-type gear (thanks Eric). She slaps a few hands on her way to the ring, as she awaits the competition. New espionage type music hits, as Aksana steps onto the entrance way with her darker look. After some fine announcing by Cameron Lynn (Ariane Andrew), the bell sounds and things get underway. The two lock up, as Audrey takes the champion over with a side headlock takedown. Aksana reverses it into a roll up, but just for a near fall before Audrey takes control again.

They both get to a vertical base, as Audrey is Irish Whipped into the ropes. She runs back and manages to smartly reverse it, tossing Aksana into the opposing side. She takes Aksana down with a hip toss for a two count. From there, Audrey takes control of the match again with another side headlock takedown, only Aksana counters into a leg lock that Marie manages to break. Audrey applies a front face lock, but Aksana simply lifts her into the air (that bodybuilding past coming to good use, eh?) and backs her into the corner.

She pounds Audrey’s head into the turnbuckle and proceeds to level her back with a few vicious kicks. Aksana tosses her down to the mat and covers for a near fall, before grabbing Audrey into an abdominal stretch. The champion shows her ring smarts by grabbing onto the ropes to add pressure behind the referee’s back, before breaking the hold. Aksana chokes Audrey on the ropes using her leg, but then throws her back and scores another close call.

Aksana irish whips Audrey into the corner, but she manages to elbow the champion in the face as she charges forward. Marie lifts her legs up and places them around Aksana’s head, then proceeding to kick her using the back of her calf. Audrey then ascends to the second rope and leaps off with a nice spinning heel kick for a two count. She goes for a face lock, but Aksana counters into a small package for barely even a one count before Audrey kicks out.

Aksana goes towards the ropes, but Audrey applies a reverse headlock, and looks to go for her finishing maneuver, which she calls “The Round-Up”, only Aksana manages to dodge out of way and she crashes down to the mat in pain. Hook of the legs by the Champion for a one count, before picking Audrey up and taking control. She goes to send Marie into the ropes, but Audrey reverses it. Aksana slides under the legs and drills Audrey with the Devo Drop Spinebuster to officially gain the pinfall and victory!

After the match, Aksana picks Audrey up and sends her flying outside the ring. She blasts her back first into the ring apron, before throwing her down into the steel barricade! Aksana then lifts Audrey up and throws her into the steel steps, as Aksana poses over her and declares that this is NOT FINISHED. A devilish Aksana then makes her way to the back, as the segment comes to an end.

Right before his match with Leo Kruger, Bo Rotundo is seen backstage about to make his entrance to the arena. He is soon stopped by Aksana, as she confronts him in near tears. She manages to blurt out “It’s your brother!” although Bo, now seeming to have a new attitude as well since aligning with Aksana, simply ignores her and goes to compete in his match rather than seeing what was wrong with his brother, Husky Harris. As he heads out, the camera pans into our Champion, who reveals that her tears were fake, as she smirks to the camera to show her approval of this new version of Bo Rotundo.

Thoughts: When I saw this match on paper, I was a little worried to review it. Audrey is still really new, and I wasnt sure if Aksana was to the level to control it, but the match was actually not bad to me. There was a little bit of a confusion spot after the spin kick, but they recovered and got to the finish. Audrey looked better in this match than her past two showings, and I’m excited to see how the next match in this series will be. The aftermath was also really cool as they seem to be portraying Aksana’s new attitude as deadly, instead of comical like in the past.

Melina and Other Former Divas Billed for Wrestling Tour in Mexico

Former Divas, including Melina, Serena and Jillian are being advertised for a wrestling tour in Mexico later this year.

Wrestling All Star Pros will be running from November 4th to 20th.

Also billed for the tour is joshi wrestler Io Shirai.

Thoughts: Melina being of Latin heritage, this could be a big opportunity for her to be a star in Mexico without WWE. It’d be great to see her have a long run there.

Raw Redux (September 12th, 2011): When the Divas Division Took a Night Off

46

Just six days before the Divas Championship match between Kelly Kelly and Beth Phoenix, you might expect a match that foreshadows events to come. Divas of Doom vs Kelly & Eve, perhaps? No, instead last night’s Raw pretty much gave the current Divas feud a night off — save for a fleeting appearance from Beth at the end — as Kelly faced off against… Vickie Guerrero?

Watch below:

It all kicked off backstage when Kelly somehow got involved in a conversation between Vickie and SmackDown General Manager, Teddy Long. (SmackDown being the operative word. This is Raw!) Vickie channels her inner-LayCool calling Kelly a “ditzy Barbie doll” and that she makes a “pathetic Divas Champion”. “Even I could beat you…”

And those, folks, are the magic words when it comes to WWE.

Before you know it, Vickie vs Kelly is booked for later in the show. Somewhere the Bella Twins are weeping.

Fast forward an hour or so, and it’s the match we all haven’t been waiting for. Vickie prolongs her inevitable humiliation by ‘warming up’. She then gets in Kelly’s face, shoving her but gets hits with a Thesz Press before she can say “Excuse me!”

Kelly follows up by licking her hand and smacking Vickie’s butt which only fires up Vickie more. Kelly with a bulldog and oh dear… Ahem… Well, ‘wrestler’ is not the first thing on Vickie’s resumé, is it?

Vickie backs into the corner and you know what time it is — stinkface.

Meanwhile, our match has been hijacked by the guys as Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger argue outside of the ring, causing Vickie much distress as she gives Kelly the advantage to roll her up and take the victory.

Well, that was scintillating.

After the match, Beth attempts to run into the ring and attack K2 but gets kicked off the ring apron. Well, at least they did a little something to promote the PPV match on Sunday.

I adore Vickie and she’s looking more phenomenal by the week, but did we need to see this? I think if you’re going to put Vickie in a match it should be a tag match or a match with a more experienced opponent. It should also be built up over time, not just booked for the same night. She is such a heat magnet that people would love to see her comeuppance after a long feud.

And as for the male involvement? Usually I would be annoyed that the one Divas match on a card of 5-6 male matches gets the focus pulled away and put on the guys, but not this week.

I guess they did try to tease the Night of Champions match this Sunday, but when you think of all of the other things they could’ve done with this three minute segment — perhaps a really heated in-ring promo between Beth & Kelly — that isn’t saying much.

A blah week for Raw.

Heated Exchange of Words Between Bella Twins and Beth Phoenix (Video)

22

The Divas’ Twitter drama has been upgraded to WWE.com.

Brie and Nikki Bella filmed a backstage segment with Beth Phoenix last night at Raw for WWE.com. In the clip, the Bellas and Beth — all heels — have a heated exchange of words.

Brie & Nikki say that Beth is ‘toast’ this Sunday at Night of Champions and that brains and beauty (the twins) is better than brawn (Beth). Beth tells them if they have brains, they’d stay out of her way.

You can watch the clip here.

Thoughts: It’s such a shame that segments like this get relegated to WWE.com when this was far more interesting than anything the Divas did last night on Raw. WWE is willing to let the Divas argue on Twitter and WWE.com to push feuds, but just won’t do it on TV? Lame.

I noted that they’re all heels above because it’s interesting to see WWE break their usual ‘all babyfaces are friends and all heels are friends’ motto when it comes to the Divas. It seems like they have acknowledged and continued the divide that has been created in the Divas division since ‘that’ article. To me that makes this more interesting because the Bellas could be x-factors in this feud between Divas of Doom and Kelly & Eve. There are three camps — Divas of Doom, Bella Twins and Eve/Kelly. I think it’d be fun to see them all feud.

Also, I can’t help but find the Bellas (particularly Nikki) so entertaining in promos. They really convey the bitchiness of their characters. Of course, things being PG, some of the lines they’re scripted are duds but I like the way they deliver them.

Exclusive: Madison Eagles Talks About Being Ranked #1 on PWI Female 50, PWWA & More

11

It’s been a great start to the month of September for SHIMMER Champion, Madison Eagles. In fact, perhaps we should just dedicate this month in her honor? Seriously.

Last week, it was revealed that the 6’1″ Australian wrestler was ranked the number one female wrestler in all of North America by Pro Wrestling Illustrated, but even before that, Eagles had much to celebrate.

Madison Eagles Lands No. 1 Spot on PWI Female 50

On September 3rd, Madison’s all-female Australian promotion, PWWA, returned after a long hiatus with a full card of matches including the first ever international SHIMMER Championship defense. Eagles successfully retained her title on home soil by defeating Jessie McKay and Nicole Matthews in a three-way match.

Live Coverage from Australia: PWWA Featuring Madison Eagles, Nicole Matthews, Jessie McKay & Kellie Skater

Having just come off the PWWA show and a major tour in Adelaide where she faced Nicole Matthews every night, we caught up with Madison to find out how it feels to be ranked #1, the scoop from the PWWA show and more.

Congratulations on topping this year’s PWI Female 50! How long have you known and what was your reaction when you found out?
Thank you so much. I knew only a little sooner than everyone else, but then again nothing was certain until officially announced. Trust me, I don’t count my eggs until they are a sure thing. I was very pleasantly surprised, It’s also a bit surreal, to say the least. Never in a million years did I think I would top that list.

How does it feel to be the first non-WWE/TNA name to top the list?
Crazy! And very proud to represent all those girls that don’t have what WWE/TNA typically look for in their wrestlers. I am a proud independent wrestler and I love to show everyone what women can offer.

What do you think this says about your work in SHIMMER and about the promotion itself?
I think it shows that we truly have the top talent in the world coming together to create something special, and to be honest, I would not have gotten this top spot without SHIMMER. It has let me create something unique in my matches and express myself as a true wrestler, and you really can’t say that about a lot of places.

What has the reaction been like from your peers?
It has been a great amount of support. My friends have been so supportive because they can see that it’s a big step in women’s wrestling to have an independent [wrestler] top the list. I have also had a lot of support from the fans, which is what we all really hope for.

What stands out in your mind over the past year that might have contributed to this? The match with Manami Toyota in CHIKARA perhaps?
I think just all the hard work I have been putting into all of my matches inside and outside of the ring. And of course all the great talent, like Toyota, that I have had the privileged opportunity to work with.

You’ve had a very inspirational journey. You came from Australia and really rose through the ranks in SHIMMER to become a top name on the independent scene in North America. Tell us about that journey.
It really does feel like a whirlwind. Only a few years ago I was trying to improve wrestling in Australia and was completely unknown to the rest of the wrestling world. I really did go from being a total unknown to the position I am in today, and it really does feel like a bit of a dream at times. Let’s just hope I don’t wake up!

It’s an especially great couple of weeks for you as your promotion PWWA in Australia had a successful comeback on September 3rd. How do you think it went?
It was truly a success. We had a huge amount of debuts for the company, and all the girls went out there and really gave it all they had. We had a crazy main event, and I hope we can show the world some more of our Australian talent, as well as our new New Zealand wrestlers.

The debuting New Zealand girls, in particular, seemed to make quite the impact. What are your thoughts on them? Would you like to see them return to Australia sooner rather than later?
Yes, we definitely want them back. All of them did a fantastic job, and did their country proud, especially considering this was their first time out of their area. I was particularly impressed with Evie. Everyone should be looking in her direction for the next up and coming star.

Any estimated time frame of when the next PWWA show will be?
We should be back very early in the New Year. The last show will also be released on DVD within the month.

How are you feeling after your brutal triple threat match for the SHIMMER Championship and a week’s worth of wrestling Nicole Matthews on top of that? How is your shoulder holding up after your unfortunate car accident earlier this year?
The triple threat was tough. I had quite a few months taking it easy since my injury, but nothing could have prepared me for the amount of craziness that happened in that match. I’m still finding a lot of things difficult in regards to my shoulder, but at the same time, I am finding I can push through a lot more things than I could before. Wrestling Nicole for a whole week has definitely prepared me for any upcoming matches we might have.

The next set of SHIMMER tapings will be held in a few weeks time. Is there a specific way that you usually prepare for the shows?
I would usually just be training hard at the gym and in the ring, but this time around it will be a lot more mental preparation because of my injury. I am trying to compensate by doing more cardiovascular workouts that don’t strain my shoulder, because if I can’t be the strongest, I may as well be the fittest.

Will you be wrestling for any other companies while in the US? CHIKARA and NCW Femme Fatales, who you’ve worked for before, will be holding shows around the same time as SHIMMER in October.
Yes, I will, but I think we will just have to wait for the official announcements before I can say anything more!

You’ve wrestled in Australia, America, Canada, and Japan. Any plans to head to the likes of, say, New Zealand, Mexico or Europe?
Europe is definitely at the top of my to-do list. I love the European style of wrestling and am going to be looking for any chance to get over there.

Are there any particular dream opponents you haven’t wrestled that you would still like to? This question can apply to Australians, SHIMMER, WWE, TNA, etc. – past or present.
Yes, there are a few Joshi stars that I would still like to wrestle. Also, Hailey Hatred in a singles match. I would also like to work with Evie from New Zealand.

Fellow Australian Tenille Tayla recently got signed to a developmental deal with WWE and will be reporting to Florida Championship Wrestling shortly, do you count getting signed by one of the major wrestling promotions as one of your ideal goals?
No, my goal in wrestling has always been to be the best I can be, and work on being the best in the world. That really is what my soul craves. Anything else is just a bonus.

And finally, is there anything else you would like to mention while you have the chance?
Just that I am so grateful for all the support for women’s wrestling that not only myself but everyone else has been receiving. None of us would be in the positions we are in without the fans, places to work like SHIMMER, promoters like Dave Prazak, and the support we get from people like you at Diva Dirt. Thank you all so much!

Madison Eagles will be in action at SHIMMER on October 1st and 2nd at the Berwyn Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL. More details and tickets can be found here.

TNA No Surrender in Review: Hot Potato, Pass It On…

28

This past Sunday’s No Surrender pay per view saw yet another Knockouts Championship switch, the third in the past month to be precise.

To recap this epic saga so far: Mickie James lost the Knockouts Title to Winter at Hardcore Justice last month, but regained it just two weeks ago on the September 1st episode of Impact. Then, this Sunday, it would be the rubber match — Mickie vs Winter once again for the belt. Let’s watch…

Say what you will about TNA, and I for one am not impressed with the way the Knockouts Title has been flip-flopped over the past month, but the video packages that they create for the Knockouts matches are great. We don’t see those ‘big match’-feel video packages for the Divas, sadly, but I think TNA impresses in that department. Another good video package to kick off this segment.

The challenger is out first with a determined look on her face, and as April calls her, she’s also brought along her ‘lady love’ Angelina Love. However, because I am not April, I will call Angelina Winter’s ‘main squeeze’.

Next out is the champion doing her patriotic duty — or is she? Mickie is out in a Wonder Woman outfit and I guess the colors correlate to the colors of the USA flag too being 9/11 and all. It’s Halloween and July the 4th rolled into one!

Winter wastes little time to get her licks in as she interrupts Mickie’s signature top rope pose. However, Mickie manages to fend her off with a kick as the bell officially rings. Mickie follows through with a dropkick that just connects. However, before she can follow through on her momentum, Winter manages to flee her from the ring, right in the line of fire from her main squeeze, A-Love. The current and former champion exchange blows on the outside and it is Mickie who gets the better of the exchange but Winter isn’t far behind, attacking her. Winter tries to whip James into the steps but Mickie reverses, leading to Winter eating steel. What Winter doesn’t realise is that this meal is a buy one get one free, as she then eats the steel guardrail. Enjoy your twofer, Winty!

James rolls Winter back into the ring where the challenger rakes her eyes out of desperation. Winter now has the upper-hand over the champion, but Mickie eventually mounts a comeback with an elbow shot and her patented headscissors out of the corner. Mickie hits the ropes but Angelina trips her up — that wench! — but she gets her just desserts, as Mickie hits a nice dropkick-type move through the ropes.

However, with James distracted by Love, Winter seizes her opportunity with a kick across the back which sends Mickie to the mat as Winter taunts her. Nice snap suplex to follow up. Pin attempt but no three.

Winter with a submission move which Mickie slowly works her way out of, however she gets taken right back down to the mat by a clothesline. Winter in control again, choking her over the middle rope. The referee breaks up the hold at a five count which leads to Winter distracting the referee with an argument as Love chokes her some more. Winter goes for another pin attempt but James kicks out.

Winter with a backbreaker over the knee, and then holds the position, applying pressure to Mickie’s back. Mickie breaks out of the move with a knee to the head.

Winter picks up Mickie again for another backbreaker, this time of the spinning variation. Mickie tries to fight out of it with elbows but Winter manages to hit the move. Winter follows up with a sleeper hold but MJ reaches the ropes. Winter argues with the referee which allows Mickie to regain composure and blindside her with a jackknife pin, but the challenger manages to kick out.

Mickie then executes a neckbreaker, sending Winter down to the mat. James, still worn down from the earlier attacks, is unable to make the cover and both women lay on the mat. The referee begins a double countout as both women rise to their feet. An exchange of forearm shots ensues. Mickie begins building momentum, taking down Winter with axehandles and a flapjack before showing off her athleticism with a kip up. Angelina tries to interfere from the outside causing Mickie to turn her back to Winter who is creeping up on her. However, the champion has her opponent well scouted and hits her with a nice spin kick. Mickie goes for the pin but Winter manages to grab the ropes.

Mickie grabs the challenger by her hair, but Winter breaks free of the champ’s clutches and goes for an enzugiri but James dodges the bullet. Mickie with a single-leg Boston crab now, but Winter reaches the ropes.

As we draw nearer to the end, there’s a whole lotta sh*t going on. (This is TNA, after all.) First, Angelina tries to hand Winter the Knockouts Title to use as a weapon and steal the victory. That fails. Mickie ducks and the referee discovers what Winter is up to and takes the belt from her.

Mickie then rolls up Winter with a bridging pin, but just when you thought it was over — Winter kicks out!

The two Knockouts continue fighting and end up backed into the corner where Mickie goes for the Tornado DDT, but Angelina pulls Winter out of the ring. Mickie is having none of this f**kery as she goes up top and hits a Thesz Press to the outside on Winter.

Mickie now turns her attention to Angelina, chasing her up the ramp to the back. However, inside the ring, Earl Hebner begins a 10 count which would disqualify the champion. James heads back into the ring but Angelina has reappeared right behind her. Angelina pins arms back allowing Winter to spit her blood/mist cocktail in the champ’s eyes but not so fast! Mickie moves out of the way and Angelina gets a face full of red!

Normally, that sort of backfire would lead to the babyface taking advantage of the distraction and winning the match. Except this is TNA. Welcome to Swervesville.

Mickie seemingly has the match won, as she stands poised and ready to hit her finisher as soon as Winter turns around but boy, is she in for a surprise! Winter, as if by magic, has coughed up more of her red concoction (and probably some phlegm, I would assume) and spits it into Mickie’s face to steal the victory!

Winter is once again the Knockouts Champion. That means both she and Mickie are tied with two Knockouts Title reigns. It’s like the last few weeks didn’t happen, right?

I’m not sure if TNA is trying to pad the stats, or what their logic is with having the title switched twice in as many weeks. I would try to think of a reason but I honestly wouldn’t care to delve into the creative process of the people who brought us a ‘lockbox showdown’.

I’m happy to see Winter as champion, but I don’t think she should have lost the belt in the first place. And if she did have to lose it, it should’ve stayed on Mickie at this pay per view.

Despite all the distractions thrown to the wall at the end — an attempt to hit Mickie with the title, Angelina interfering and two mist shots — I thought the match was really well performed by both Knockouts. I’ve been very impressed with their past two matches and I think this was a nice third match in the series. I don’t think it was as good as the first two bouts, but it definitely wasn’t a letdown either. The match was technically sound, had plenty of time and had a good rhythm. I enjoyed watching it.

Match Rating: 4/5

Latest Scathing Remark from Rosa Mendes…

73

Ready for round two?

The latest tweet from Rosa Mendes revealed the Divas she’s got beef with — AJ, Aksana, Kaitlyn and Maxine.

Rosa wrote:

Just so everyone is clear the rookies are AJ, Kaitlyn, Aksana and Maxine. You know the new girl on NXT, with the huge overbite. Lol.

Um… damn!

Six More Divas for “WWE ’12”

92

A THQ rep has confirmed that six more Divas will be in the WWE ’12 video game as downloadable content.

Tank, the global community manager for WWE games, wrote on his Twitter page: “Someone asked on our boards, I will happily confirm/clarify, 6 of the remaining 14 mystery spots on our roster left are @WWE Divas.”

With six more names, in addition to the seven previously announced, that brings the total to 13 women in this year’s game.

THQ previously confirmed that Tamina and Rosa Mendes won’t be in the game. Gail Kim and Melina aren’t expected to be in the game either.

Thoughts: It looks like four of those six spots will go to Alicia Fox, Brie & Nikki Bella, and Trish Stratus. Who could the other two be? Kaitlyn could be a possibility.

In Pictures: Stacy Keibler Steps Out with George Clooney, Makes Women Everywhere Jealous

17

The first snaps of former WWE Diva Stacy Keibler and George Clooney have been circulating around the world’s media.

From Us Magazine, to People, to The Sun in the UK — everyone is talking about Keibs and Cloones!

The couple stepped out for the first time together in Toronto over the weekend after attending the premiere over his movie, Ides of March, at TIFF.

Check out pics of Georcy Steorge Stacy & George below. (We haven’t quite decided on a name yet. Please help.)

So, who’ll be more jealous? The Clooney fangirls or the Stacy’s legs fanboys?

Rosa Mendes in Twitter Rant at ‘Rookie Divas’

170

And we thought Divas Twitter drama was done with last week.

SmackDown’s Rosa Mendes, who hasn’t been seen on screen in quite a few weeks, returned to Twitter after a brief hiatus with a whole new ‘tude!

Rosa has, for reasons she has not yet made public, taken issue with ‘rookie Divas’ on the WWE roster.

Yesterday, Rosa tweeted:

But what one thing I don’t miss is looking at rookies that call themselves divas when they can’t get a hold of some proactive to clear their awful skin up, and start dressing like actual Divas instead of shopping at consignment stores in the kid section. You want to be a Diva? Look like one AJ. You look like a cashier that works at my local grocery store. Why you are on the roster boggles my mind!!!!!!!! Can’t wait to get back in the ring and actually have a worthy opponent!

Then today, she added:

Awwwww u guys are mad @ me. You love AJ because she looks ordinary just like you. Divas are not suppose to look ordinary.

This is what you call a Diva! Rookieeees???? Pleeeeeeeease. Hahaha.

If i’m making people upset, I don’t really care. I’m sick of seeing the Divas division ruined by these rookies. Sexy, smart, powerful!

Stay in FCW and stop shopping at Target chicas!

One rookie looks 12 with a crater face, one looks like she is 40 and the other one looks like she needs to go on Jenny Craig. You know who you are! Lol

Responding to a tweet from Diva Dirt, Rosa then added:

something happened, if you knew you would understand. Don’t stop loving me:) Rosa Mendes doesn’t go on a rant for no reason.

Dun dun dun… BRB. Grabbing popcorn.

Is Rosa just shooting breeze hoping to get a new storyline on TV? Is she legit pissed? Tell us what you think…

No Surrender: Winter Regains Knockouts Championship

65

The championship hot potato continues. Winter regained the Knockouts Championship tonight by defeating Mickie James just two weeks after losing the belt.

That means Winter is now a two-time Knockouts Champion.

The end of the match saw some miscommunication with Winter and her lover/partner in crime Angelina Love. Angelina tried to hold Mickie down so Winter could spit blood in her eyes, but Mickie moved out of the way leading to Winter spitting blood in Angelina’s eyes instead.

The distraction seemingly allowed Mickie to take the win — but wait! Another TNA swerve. Winter had more blood in her mouth, blinding Mickie and taking the win.

Did you get all that?

Right. We’ll see you in a few weeks for the next rematch/title switch.

TNA No Surrender Predictions: Mickie James vs Winter

27

The Diva Dirt team weigh in on tonight’s No Surrender pay per view matches between Mickie James and Winter. Will Winter regain the belt or will Mickie retain?

April: Looking at this feud through a microscope every week, you take on a different perspective. Where I can see why Mickie being the champion works in favor of going against the new VP, I crave change. I am definitely looking for Winter to win tonight. I love Winter as Knockouts Champion because she’s different. She brings a new look and aura to the title. She is an incredible talent and I believe she can do amazing things in the Knockouts division, no matter how weird she is. We’ve seen Mickie as champion and know what she can do. It’s time to give Winter LeStrange a chance. #teamwicked

Bobby: I’ll be honest, I haven’t seen a Knockouts segment or match since the night spoilers came out that Winter lost the title, so my opinion may differ from those who keep up with it. TNA (until recently) did a good job of making the title have lengthy reigns this year, and I have no clue why Winter’s ended out of nowhere, but I’m guessing Mickie James to retain tonight in a solid match.

Cryssi: Still don’t understand why Mickie was given the title back to begin with, and I doubt they’d take it off her. Mickie James wins.

Erin: Unless they’re playing ping pong with the Knockouts Championship, I can’t see Mickie losing it so quickly. Many of us assumed that Winter’s short reign was a “tip of the cap” to her for her work, not meant to be a full-on reign. If that’s true, it wouldn’t make much sense for her to win it back, unless our suspicions were wrong and this is a legitimate title consideration for her. The cynic in me says that it was a “tip of the cap” and that Mickie James will retain and most likely move on to another contender.

Katelyn: Still annoyed that they took the title off Winter so quickly. I don’t at all understand that, so I think Mickie James will once again retain the championship..

Melanie: I echo everyone else’s sentiments — annoyed that the belt was taken off Winter so quickly. It made me totally check out of this feud and I can’t say I’m too excited to see a rematch tonight. As much as I’d love to see Winter as champion, for the sake of the belt, please don’t have another quick title switch. I say Mickie James wins.

Who do you think will win tonight?

REELZCHANNEL today announced that the network is turbo charging its commitment to TV About Movies® by bringing the focus to its first original reality TV series in a development deal with ZOO Productions to create The Z Team. The Z Team stars Lorenzo Lamas, Rudy Reyes, Tommy “Tiny” Lister and Torrie Wilson as a group, led by Lamas, contracted by law enforcement agencies and concerned citizens all across the country to confront real life and death situations on the streets of America. The Z Team, relying on years of experience fighting bad guys on the big screen, in the ring and in real life take on drug dealers, the mob and dirty politicians—no case is too much for them.

“We wanted to make a show that would take the action and drama of Die Hard and The Expendables and combine it with the reality of Cops,” said John Stevens ZOO Productions co-founder and Executive Producer on The Z Team. “REELZ knows the world of movies and entertainment better than any network and they are the perfect partner to make The Z Team come to life.”

“Bringing a Hollywood movie sensibility to the fight against crime is a natural for REELZ,” said Matthew Singerman REELZCHANNEL SVP of Programming. “With The Z Team we’re feeding America’s appetite for the action genre by bringing big screen imagination and technique to reality TV in a show that will be fun for viewers, full of opportunities for marketers and be a tremendous building block in our continuing commitment to TV About Movies.”

Adds Lorenzo Lamas, “Ever since Renegade, my fans and I have been waiting for the right opportunity to take on the next challenge in the world of law enforcement. The Z Team is it – and the group of characters I have assembled is like no other. The best part is we get to take our skills as trained performers and apply them to real life situations. What people will see on this show is like nothing else on television today.”

Lorenzo Lamas, veteran of over 70 movie and TV roles was nominated for a Golden Globe for his work on Falcon Crest and is the only actor who appeared in all 228 episodes. Trish Stratus Advertised for Tuesday’s SmackDown Taping in Toronto

Diva legend Trish Stratus is being advertised for Tuesday’s SmackDown taping in her hometown of Toronto, Ontario.

WWE previously announced that retired WWE Superstar Edge would be appearing at the taping, however the Air Canada Centre website — where the show will emanate from — is advertising Trish and Hall of Famer Bret Hart for the show as well.

With Trish having just launched her Stratusphere Living product line in Canada, this could be a fun way for her to promote that in a backstage segment. Or could we see her in a match?
