TNA Sacrifice 2011 Results: Tara’s Choice

24

Going into tonight’s Sacrifice pay per view, Tara had a choice — her allegiance with Madison Rayne or her freedom courtesy of Mickie James. She went for the latter.

Helping Mickie win her Knockouts Championship match at the pay per view, Tara clocked Rayne with a punch with the self-professed Queen’s own loaded glove.

The glove was introduced into the match by Rayne earlier, as she went to grab it from under the ring while the referee was down. Tara, however, ripped the glove out of her hands and later used it for her own gain.

By helping Mickie win the match, Tara is now free of any services she owed Madison, who brought her back to TNA after retiring her at this very pay per view one year ago.

What did you think of the match? Where do Tara, Mickie and Madison go next? Put your thoughts in the comments!

TNA Sacrifice Predictions: Chyna’s In-Ring Return, Mickie vs Madison

The Diva Dirt team weigh in on tonight’s Sacrifice pay per view:

Chyna & Kurt Angle vs Karen & Jeff Jarrett

Cryssi: I don’t expect Karen Jarrett to actually get in the ring. So we’ll either see Chyna/Kurt Angle versus Jeff Jarrett in a handicap match, or the more likely scenario of Kurt Angle versus Jeff Jarrett part whatever it is. So this will be a no-contest for the ladies. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. =)

YouTube Classics: Chyna vs Jeff Jarrett (Good Housekeeping Match)

With Chyna returning to the ring tonight in a mixed tag match with Kurt Angle versus Jeff and Karen Jarrett, we look back at her historic match with Jeff in WWE.

Chyna became the first ever female Intercontinental Champion by defeating Jarrett in 1999:

Mia Yim Does Japan: The Story So Far…

5

Wrestler and Diva Dirt contributor, Mia Yim is currently in Japan where she is set to debut for the REINA promotion. Mia will be sending us exclusive blogs and pictures from her trip. Check back for regular updates!

I finally land at the Narita airport May 12 (Thurs here) after a 16 hour flight. The flight itself wasn’t that bad, No crying babies or smelly old people. Decent, enjoyable trip. Once I land, it is already raining here, but I met up with the promoter and wait in the car. About 15 mins later, the promoter brings Roxie Cotton, and we both are just jumping in the back seat, excited as can be. We drive about an hour into the outskirts of the city of Tokyo called Chiba. We stop at the dojo to meet with the joshi girls and lucha girls. After ten mins there, we head to our apartment. Super cute little place. We both have our own bedrooms. Comfortable place, hard to understand how to work the stove and toilet. They are built completely different with different buttons. After settling in for about an hour, we both go out and meet up with Hailey Hatred. I haven’t seen her in about a year or two after she left America to live in Tokyo. It was great seeing her! She takes us into the city and shows us around. We later meet up with Kellie Skater and eat at a Denny’s. This Denny’s is totally different than the American Denny’s. Pancakes here are considered a dessert, and they barely serve any breakfast foods, more Japanese soups and meats. Once we finish eating, it’s about 10pm and both me and Roxie are exhausted. Still jetlagged. We finally take the train back to the apartment and pass out.

Unwrapped (May 15th, 2011): Kharma, Miss Tessmacher, Natalya, Tamina & Tara

28

Every week, following WWE.com and TNAWrestling.com’s photoshoot updates, we’ll take a look at the newest Diva and Knockout shoots and give you the opportunity to voice your opinions on them in a feature we lovingly call Unwrapped. Let’s unwrap this week’s eye candy, featuring Kharma, Miss Tessmacher, Natalya, Tara and Tamina:

Kharma
How’s this for a spin on the usual Diva photoshoot? Given that Kharma has demonstrated an inability to play well with others, it makes sense that she wouldn’t exactly cooperate for a photoshoot. In these photos, she poses for a few select shots and then, for reasons unknown, attacks the photographer and breaks the camera. Photoshoots usually don’t break the fourth wall like this, but it definitely works with a Diva like Kharma, who as of yet doesn’t seem to want to do much else than inflict pain on anyone who strays within her grasp. Sure, it’s a bit cheesy, but it’s the most entertaining photoshoot I’ve seen in a long time, and it’s damn creative too: they managed to get some posed photos out of Kharma without breaking her bad-tempered character. Every single shot is interesting in its own way, whether she’s gazing creepily off-camera or charging at directly at the camera. It shows that Kharma is more than just a mean-looking Diva–she’s got personality and a definite spark, even though the demonstration of said spark resulted in a “injured” photographer. I love the shoot: it’s so very fitting for her character, and the shots are so memorable.

Miss Tessmacher
Posing in her ring gear, Miss Tessmacher is showing off her outfit and mugging for the camera in various ways. The color of this gear reminds me of one of similar color and texture worn by Kelly Kelly. I’m not sure which one I prefer, though I must say that the rhinestone-covered knee pads are a unique touch. The poses are hardly subtle, with Miss Tessmacher showing off her butt by hanging her jacket just under it, throwing up the rock and roll hand sign, and popping on her eyeglasses for a few shots. There’s just not a lot of consistency–it’s as if she’s just doing whatever comes to mind. Given that this is a shoot meant to show off her ring gear, I don’t really mind–I’m not really paying attention to the nuances of her poses anyways, but it’s a bit silly seen all together. Personally, I much prefer her earlier ring gear shoot, the one with her black attire. It was sexy, but she looked all business, ready to jump in the ring. Here, it’s more like she wanted to tick every box, which results in a disjointed photoshoot.

Live Results from FWE in Brooklyn, NY with TNA’s Winter, Rosita & Christy Hemme + Message from Jillian

Diva Dirt’s Eric is at the FWE show in Brooklyn, NY where TNA Knockouts Winter and Rosita will compete with Christy Hemme as special guest referee. Jillian was supposed to wrestle but backed out of the booking due to personal reasons.

Results below:

The show began with an announcement that Jillian Hall would not be in attendance. They played a message from Jillian apologizing for her absence but offered to sing a song. She began to sing “Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears.

The crowd rudely boos and Winter comes out looking so fierce. Winter expresses disappointment at not facing Jillian since she travelled all that way to disgusting Brooklyn. She also said New York was like London but with no class. She announces that she has a replacement and its Rosita, coming out to the Mexican America theme and looking amazing. Absolutely gorgeous in person. Rosita says she is excited to face Winter again since she beat her for the tag belts. She announces that she has a special guest ref in order to prevent Winter from doing creepy stuff.

TNA has released a string of video packages tying into its new tagline for Impact, ‘Wrestling Matters’. Mickie is one of the stars discussing why wrestling matters in this clip:

TNA Teasing Karen Injury, May Not Compete Against Chyna at PPV

24

It looks like Karen Jarrett may not be facing Chyna tomorrow night, after all.

The official TNA website is teasing that Jarrett’s status for the Sacrifice pay per view — where she is due to team with husband Jeff against ex-husband Kurt Angle and Chyna — is up in the air after claiming injury on Twitter.

Karen wrote: “Had a bad fall today!!! :( can’t hardly walk!!!” Later she added: “Due to my fall, not sure I will be up to having a match on Sunday at the PPV….”

The official website writes: “TNA officials have stated that they are still trying to gather information about Karen’s fall, and as of Saturday afternoon she is still being promoted for the match. Her travel itinerary to Orlando for the PPV has not yet been changed.”

Is it all an angle? Who do you think could replace Karen? Sound off in the comments!

Impact Write-Up (May 12th, 2011): Mama Jarrett Goes Downtown to Chynatown

Oh boy. Last week, we got a serious basketful of everyone and their mama on Impact. Between Winter and Angelina Love beating up on Velvet Sky, who was assumed and accused of being Kurt Angle’s mistress and the Cinco de Mayo celebration with Mexican America. I was so worn out last week. This week, we find out the truth, however. The Queen of the Mountain has been throwing her blame finger at everyone under the sun and finally narrowed it down, but boy is she in for a major surprise. Daddy Jarrett doesn’t know what’s coming his way either! All is to be revealed on this week’s episode so if you’re ready for it, dive right in. The water’s nice and electrifying!

So our show starts off with a rather meek and “humbled” appearance by the Royal Family of the Hillside, Karen Jarrett and her tagalong husband, Jeff. Again. They make their way to the ring and with lackluster attitudes, I must admit. Karen looks annoyed and Jeff just looks like he’s trying to knock an ongoing migraine. The crowd isn’t helping and their jeers just flood through the Impact Zone like a raging river. Stopping to hug his wife on the steps before he gets in the ring, Jeff steps in and takes a microphone, stating that they’ve decided to once and for all, call a truce. That’s right. He knows he’s mocked Kurt Angle in the past but tonight, Big Daddy is very sincere. How comforting.

Jeff tells Kurt to take a look at Karen, so sweet, so innocent and so fragile. I’m sure. He says that Karen wouldn’t hurt a fly and for her to be put in harm’s way, in the middle of the ring at Sacrifice, is terribly wrong. Just oh so terrible. Yet, we’re all dying to see it. He says he has done his best to keep her out of all of his matches yet, Karen keeps getting in the way. Womp womp. By the way, it’s MIStress, Jeff. Not MITtress. Just to let you know.

SmackDown Redux (May 13th, 2011): Kharma Adds Another Victim To The List.

For the past two weeks we’ve been watching the rise of the most exciting performer to ever grace the WWE. The artist formerly known as Awesome Kong, Kharma, debuted back at Extreme Rules giving Michelle McCool the greatest exit of any Diva. Since then she’s been scaring Divas on both Raw and SmackDown, taking out the likes of Alicia Fox, Maryse, and Eve Torres along the way. This week not only does Kharma add another Diva to her list of casualties, she sets her sites on someone else. Dun dun duuuuuuuun!

This week’s Diva portion of SmackDown kicks off after an unfortunate plug for the main event later in the evening (which I won’t be watching because I’m still boycotting, haha). Layla is in the ring, dressed in street cloths and holding a microphone, and her music is playing. I’m just going to call it her music now because it’s the second week in a row that she’s used it. Anyway, once the music fades, she starts speaking. Layla says that at Extreme Rules her friendship with Michelle McCool came to an end when she finally beat her in a Loser Leaves WWE match. Layla continues on by saying that during the match she ended up hurting her knee, but as painful as the injury is, it was worth it. She’s glad she finally rid the WWE of the poison that is Michelle McCool.

Kurt Angle on Chyna Joining TNA, Her Huge Reaction from Fans, Wants to See Her Wrestle Men

33

Kurt Angle spoke to the Busted Open radio show about a number of topics, including the arrival of Chyna in TNA.

Diva Dirt has a little sneak peak of the interview which will air on Monday.

Angle says of Chyna: “She looked good. She looked healthy too. You know what, even though we only had 1,400 people there, the response that just came from those fans sent a big message to Hulk Hogan and Dixie Carter, and myself as well, that Chyna will always be a huge name. It was cool because when they introduced her…people were like ‘holy, no way. Chyna. She’s coming. Oh my God,’ and then she came out and she looked good. It was like, she is back. It was one of the feel-good moments for Impact Wrestling.

In Pictures: Alicia Fox is Cute N’ Classy on Red Carpet at Time Warner Cable Upfronts

18

One day after Kelly Kelly‘s show-stopping turn on the LA red carpet for the Maxim Hot 100 party, it was Alicia Fox‘s turn to hit the red carpet yesterday.

Foxy, who seems to be sidelined with a shoulder injury sustained last week, was in Texas for the Time Warner cable media upfront presentations where she rubbed shoulders on the red carpet with the likes of Ron Pearlman (Sons of Anarchy).

A-Fox looked very appropriate for a daytime business function in a classy black dress, but also on display was her wonderful smile as she showed off a playfulness with the celebs.

Jackie Haas is Tough Enough: Week 6 (“It’s Getting Down to Nut Cuttin’ Time”)

Former Tough Enough champion, Jackie Haas blogs on the new series of Tough Enough. Read her insight and opinion on the series every week exclusively here at Diva Dirt.

Like Ivelisse, Jackie injured her knee during TE2 but kept going.

I don’t like to read the reviews even about the show before I see it… most weeks now I have to DVR the show due to my PM running schedule, but I was expecting exactly what happened and two to be cut this week. And the weakest links went.

Even though I had been kind of in Ivelisse’s corner as of last week, if she’s nagging about her injury then she simply isn’t tough enough. Yes, shit hurts, especially a legit injury and I can totally speak from personal experience but if you make it be known just as Booker T said, then it becomes a “cop out” in my book. Not being able to keep up with the competition is a legit way to get cut and I give her my best wishes. She’s trained for years to get to this point and taken down by an injury yes does suck but what else is she to do or the trainers to do but cut her. Sure this won’t be the last of her that we see as Stone Cold said – she may even have a developmental by now.

Christina did impress me and being in the bottom three was the best “wake up call” for her. I think she was playing it a bit too safe and coasting through to this point just as she said A.J. is. Good for her that she showed off some spunk and after this week I am in her corner for her to be in the finals with the guys. Even though she does remind me exactly of her sister.

In Pictures: Kelly Kelly Goes Risqué for Maxim Hot 100 Party

63

Holy crap! Kelly Kelly is a whole lotta woman!

The young Diva, who is honored on this year’s Maxim Hot 100 at #82, attended a celebratory party last night and brought out the big guns. In the words of Beyonce, K2 sure did put her freakum dress on!

The 24-year-old looked stunning on the red carpet in Los Angeles with a rather risqué dress flesh-toned dress with very carefully placed *cough* silver sparkles.

Kelly certainly made a bold statement — one that, no doubt, should pay off with an even higher ranking on the Hot 100 next year!
