SmackDown Redux (March 11th, 2011): Welcome Back to SmackDown, Kaitlyn

It’s been brought to my attention that since the Elimination Chamber, SmackDown doesn’t really have a clear cut storyline for their Divas. Other than the Lay-Cool teased tension, nothing has happened for anyone unless they’re named Layla or Michelle McCool. Other Divas have of course had supporting roles in this storyline and this week, it was NXT season three winner, Kaitlyn, who got a chance to take a backseat to Lay-Cool. Kaitlyn has rarely been seen since winning NXT3 a few months ago so it will be interesting to see how far she’s come, if at all. Lets take a look at how it all plays out this week.

Lay-Cool are out first. Michelle seems to have gotten a new weave and Layla’s outfit doesn’t look like an eyesore this week. Michelle, however, is not at her fashion best and I just can’t get behind the LBD/camel-colored boot combo. We are off and running, right? This is and always will be the Real Wrestling Fan’s guide to SmackDown. Kaitlyn out second with her own theme song and video. The song is horrendous but her new ring gear compliments her curves nicely; still hating on her hair. She gets a thunderous pop being the hometown gal and all, and it’s just nice to see her on SmackDown for a change.

Raw Redux Does WWE Superstars (March 10th, 2011): A Matter of the Hart

Looking like a modern day version of the Oddities, Natalya teamed up with two of Raw’s behemoths — The Great Khali and Mark Henry — to take on her recent rival Melina and her partners, William Regal and someone that Miss Neidhart is very familiar with: Tyson Kidd.

With two members of the now defunct Hart Dynasty in this match on opposing teams, this match certainly had some intrigue about it. Check it out below:

It’s the Divas who kick things off in this match as the former champions lock up but almost instantly, Natalya rolls up the A-Lister but it’s not going to be that easy! Melina kicks out at one.

The Latina shows some of that spicy temperament as they lock up again and Melina slams Nattie down to the canvas by her hair. Adding the exclamation point, she lets out one of her patented wild screams in Natalya’s direction.

WSU News & Notes: iPPV Notes, TNA Knockout Backstage, Reaction to Ivory and More

Diva Dirt has a lot of exclusive news and notes coming out of WSU’s 4th Anniversary Show last weekend.

* The iPPV is said to have been a big success and was the best selling WSU iPPV so far and even exceeded the allotted bandwidth.

* TNA Knockout, Cookie was backstage. Apparently she was going to appear on the show as a surprise but TNA pulled her off at the last minute.

* I’m told former WWE Women’s Champion, Ivory, was a big hit with the roster. A lot of the girls asked for pictures with her and she watched the entire show from the audience. When it came time for her spot during the Spirit Championship mach, the whole roster was said to have been watching from backstage.

* Brittney Savage and Mercedes Martinez were considered to be locks for WWE Tough Enough which is why they were booked as having their belts in jeopardy going into the show. The rumor is that WWE nixed the list which was put together by the production company behind the show, Shed Media. The original line-up had names such as Savage, Martinez as well as Austin Aries, JD Maverick and others.

Weekend Indies: NCW Femmes Fatales Tomorrow in Montreal, ACW in St Louis and More!

Week two of women’s wrestling season sees NCW Femmes Fatales return to action tomorrow night in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The line-up will see the debuts of Ayako Hamada and Allison Danger as well as returning stars including champion LuFisto, Cheerleader Melissa and plenty of other names.

Line-up after the cut!

Rumor Killer: Cherry Bomb Has Not Signed with WWE

22

Despite reports to the contrary, independent wrestler Cherry Bomb confirms to Diva Dirt that she has not signed with WWE.

Cherry Bomb, real name Laura Dennis, was in Tampa this past weekend for an FCW tryout camp however, which is how I’m guessing the rumors got started.

The only talent to be signed to a deal coming out of the camp was Tenille.

Dennis previously had a tryout with WWE last year and appeared on Raw in a segment with Goldust.

Kristin Astara Heading to Lucha Libre USA

Another familiar name is heading to Lucha Libre USA’s Battle of the Chicas show on March 19th.

Former WWE and current WSU star, Kristin Astara will make her debut as a Chicastar.

Also appearing at the tapings will be Reby Sky, Jacqueline, Nikki Roxx and others.

Angelina Love Makes a Statement About Weight Rumors

55

TNA Knockout, Angelina Love sent an emphatic — and humorous — statement regarding certain rumors on the Internet about her weight.

The former Knockouts Champ posted the above picture on her Facebook page along with the caption, ‘Dear dirtsheets’.

They say a picture’s worth a thousand words and the message is clear in this one!

Thoughts: I’m not sure where the rumors got started (they were not published here at Diva Dirt by the way) but I certainly got a chuckle from Angelina’s ability to poke fun at the situation. Kudos to her!

Exclusive: Another New WWE Signing

103

As well as Tenille, whose signing we broke earlier today, Diva Dirt has confirmed that another female wrestler — also trained by Lance Storm — has been signed by WWE.

The latest signee’s name is Irena Janjic and according to the Storm Wrestling Academy website, she is from Bosnia.

I’m told she is a little greener in the ring compared to Tenille.

She too will feature in the ‘World of Hurt’ documentary series that will air in Canada from May, along with Tenille. The show, which was filmed prior to both ladies signing with WWE, follows Storm’s advance training class at SWA.

According to Lance Storm’s official website, Irena was signed before Tenille, who won her contract by impressing at an FCW tryout camp this past week.

Raw Redux (March 7th, 2011): The Divas Get Rick-Cole-d

After winning a No.1 Contenders’ Battle Royal on last week’s edition of Raw, I’m sure Brie Bella was primed and ready to take on Divas Champion, Eve, in a title match this week. Unfortunately for her, she was replaced by her twin sister, Nikki in the match. There’s a joke in there somewhere about ‘Twin Magic’. In any case, this week Eve went one on one with Nikki Bella with Brie Bella in her corner. To even up the odds, Eve brought along Gail Kim for back-up. Will the Bellas’ ‘Twin Magic’ score them another victory over the champ? Check out the match below:

We come from commercial to find Eve in the ring getting a pep talk from Gail Kim. I know I’m always getting on Eve for not showing much personality, but she is oozing disgust and disdain for The Bella Twins tonight. I must say I’m impressed. Out next are The Bellas and despite being in singles action, both are dressed for in-ring action. Come on, ref. You have to see what’s coming from a mile away…

Exclusive: SHIMMER Star Tenille Signs with WWE

50

Diva Dirt can exclusively reveal that SHIMMER star, Tenille Tayla, has signed a developmental deal with WWE.

The 22-year-old Australian native, who our readers voted #9 on our 50 Sexiest Divas countdown last year, signed a deal this past weekend, I’m told.

In recent years, she has resided in Canada training under Lance Storm and working for ECCW where she held the Supergirls Championship.

Tenille is perhaps best known for her work in SHIMMER, however, where she’s had breakout matches against the likes of Sara Del Rey, Athena and Malia Hosaka.

Earlier this week, it was also announced that Tayla will be starring in World of Hurt, a reality show about Lance Storm’s advanced training class. The show debuts on May 1st on The Cave in Canada.

Congratulations to Tenille!
