ACW’s A Psychotic Break Results: New Tag Champs, Athena and Lady Poison in Action

Anarchy Championship Wrestling held their ‘A Psychotic Break’ event this evening in Live Oak, TX and the card featured several of the American Joshi roster in action. Check out the results below:

* As reported earlier, Rachel Summerlyn and Jessica James defeated Children of Pain, Flippy Shit and Smurf Nation in a four team elimination match to become the new ACW Tag Team Champions. This marks the first time the titles have been held by a female team. Congrats to the new champs.

* Speaking of Jessica James, her alter ego, Lady Poison, successfully defended the American Joshi Title against “Five Star” Amanda Fox via The Poison Kiss.

* In non-title action, “The Wrestling Goddess” Athena defeated Jen Alise with her top rope stunner finisher. I’m told the match was “quite good.”

Thanks to John Hyperion of Dirty Dirty Sheets for the results.

Rachel Summerlyn and Jessica James Become New ACW Tag Team Champions

SHIMMER regulars, Rachel Summerlyn and Jessica James, collectively known as Rachel and Jessica’s Excellent Tag Team, have just been crowned the new Anarchy Championship Wrestling Tag Team Champions.

The duo won the belt at tonight at ACW’s ‘A Psychotic Break’ in a four team elimination match also involving Smurf Nation, Children of Pain and Flippy Shit. Rachel and Jessica pulled out the surprise win by pinning a member of both Children of Pain and Flippy Shit, eliminating both teams. Smurf Nation, who were the champions going in, were eliminated earlier in the match.

This marks the first time that the ACW Tag Team titles are held by a female tag team. Great to see women represented in a male dominated division. Congrats to Rachel and Jessica!

Thanks to John Hyperion for the tip!

Diva Dirt’s Guide to Autobiographies We’d Like to See…

34

The release of ‘Undisputed’, Chris Jericho’s highly recommended second autobiography, got us thinking. It’s been a while since we’ve seen an autobiography from a female wrestler. It’s been 10 years since Chyna released hers and eight since Lita‘s. Last year did however see a biography based on the life of the legendary Mildred Burke, but that was written by Jeff Leen and wasn’t self-penned (Burke died in 1989).

So, we sat and we thought about it — who would we like to see put their life in print? We’ve compiled just a few names that we feel could pen a compelling autobiography. As always, we want to hear from you too. Leave your suggestions in the comments!

Unwrapped: Spring Has Sprung Early, Courtesy of Alicia

Our Unwrapped feature is making its return! Every week, coinciding with WWE.com’s weekly photoshoot updates, we’ll take a look at the newest Diva photoshoot and give you the opportunity to voice your opinions on it. Let’s unwrap this week’s eye candy..

Alicia Fox‘s photoshoots have long been Diva Dirt favorites, so imagine our glee when we see a new one pop up today! Does it meet our expectations?

The Look: Despite the fact that her dress is tight and tiny, Alicia looks more cute to me than sexy, and that’s not a bad thing at all. Some Divas’ idea of cute is dressing like a pre-pubescent girl (pigtails, tiny skirts), so Alicia gets major points for pulling off a fun, yet age-appropriate look. The dress, in a bright floral pattern, looks gorgeous, and paired with her slightly tousled wavy hair (which signals that this is an older shoot, given the absence of its current red shade), gives her an easygoing, natural look. I love it.

The Poses: Alicia poses with the ever-present equipment trunk, this time in a lively shade of purple. It makes me wonder if they decided, since they make such frequent appearances in Diva photoshoots, the trunks should be painted “pretty” (expect painted-on animal print next!). I’m not complaining, though, because the color fits in well with the bright hues on her dress and keeps up the colorful spring theme. Her poses include a lot of the usual lounging and smiling, but a few, namely the ones where she’s looking off-camera, stand out. Alicia exudes such a natural easy-going personality in her photos that shots like those, which may look like silly attempts at glamour shots with other Divas, come off as spontaneous and interesting. Heck, she’s so good at it that even the most plain poses jump off the screen, and this shoot is no expection.

Tara Selling T-Shirt for Charity – Details on How You Can Help!

6

TNA Knockout, Tara — real name Lisa Marie Varon — has announced plans to fundraise for the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

The former Knockouts Champion will be designing and selling a special t-shirt with all proceeds being donated to the ASPCA.

Lisa is asking fans to  suggest design ideas for the tee to Ariana Steele via Twitter.

This is a wonderful charitable effort by Lisa, and we hope our readers will help.

A Londoner’s Eye: Give Rima Fakih a Chance on Tough Enough…

(Well this is awkward… After a four month absence, I am back with just my second blog post. David puts me to shame, don’t he?)

The news earlier this week that reigning Miss USA, Rima Fakih, will be a contestant on the impending revival of WWE Tough Enough lit a fire under my pen. And it seems it also lit a fire under a lot of you too. The recurring theme seems to be: “Great, another model in WWE.” Other criticisms that have popped up include: “It’s a slap in the face to the masses of independent wrestlers that auditioned,” and “Why doesn’t she just do the Diva Search?”

The outpouring of criticism from fans and purists to Fakih’s appointment, in my perhaps unpopular opinion, is shortsighted and once again exemplifies the hasty nature of the Internet. (Shocking, right?)

As soon as a story is out there, there’s a knee-jerk reaction it seems. Look no further than Henry Cavill being cast as Superman. That news a few weeks ago spurred outcries that too many iconic superhero roles were going to British actors and not American ones. Sure, Superman may represent Americana but first of all, it’s fiction! Secondly, the character is not going to be British, so what difference does it make? Before a single frame of footage had been shot, poor (gorgeous) Henry Cavill had a target on his back.

Sound familiar?

SmackDown Redux (February 18th, 2011): Episode 600 Brings The Diva Action!

Welcome everyone to this glorious edition of the SmackDown Redux dedicated to the A-List’s show 600th episode! Congratulations to the WWE and to all the Divas and Superstars who have appeared on the Blue Brand over the years. SmackDown has proven to itself to be the home for better wrestling, better storyline, and overall, it’s just more consistent on a week-to-week basis. That especially rings true for the Divas, who usually get pushed off the show for special occasions on Raw. SmackDown’s 600th episode provided us with a tag team match that featured Diva’s Champion, Eve, teaming up with the Glamazon, Beth Phoenix, taking on the team of Layla and Maryse. An injured Michelle McCool was at ringside providing commentary.

We kick things off this week with Eve’s terrible theme music blaring throughout the arena. The champ and her partner, Beth, make their way to the stage. They do their trademark poses, play to the crowd, and make their way to the ring. Once inside they pose some more and SmackDown goes to commercial break. When it returns, ex-champ Michelle is at ringside with the trio of announcers that does NOT include Matt Striker anymore (so bitter), and Maryse and Layla are in the ring. Everyone is ready for action.

Impact Write-Up (February 17th, 2011): Sarita Rules and Velvet Drools!

Hola my little churros! It is that time again, for another edition of the Diva Dirt TNA iMPACT! Write-Up! You all know who I am and I know who most of you who are. We’re forming a bond here so let’s keep it strong. Last week, I missed iMPACT! due to a bout of bronchitis that hit me like a speeding truck so I want to thank Melanie for filling in for me. She’s gorgeous. Much love to her. I do know that last week, we saw the highly anticipated debut of Sarita‘s familia in Rosita, the newest Knockout to grace the scene. That was a rather interesting eight Knockout tag team match.

This week, Muy Caliente(oh it’s gonna stick) is taking on The Beautiful People in a tag team match that is bound to be salsarific! We also got a random dose of fist pumpin’ this week in the form of hairspray highhats and self tanner. And we all know how TNA loves to surprise us, so if you haven’t watched by this point, buckle up. It’s going to be a bumpy ride! Vamos!

Our Knockouts action for this week really starts out in a match between the X-Division Champion, Kazarian and the contender, Robbie E. We all know his loudmouth counterpart, Cookie from the Jersey Shore. Oh yes. She was most definitely there, dressed in all her drunken stupor glory. Before the match started, Robbie E. is seen cutting a little promo in the ring, talking about how TNA management through a grenade at him this past Sunday at Against All Odds. Oh darling, I would NOT catch a grenade for you. Sorry Bruno Mars. Anyway, he claims he was ready to take on two dudes, not one dude but TWO. But now, he’s ready. He’s got Cooks, his hairgel, self-tanner and random letters on his crotch that mean nothing to the world. He is so ready because Jersey’s in the house, bitches!

Backstage, we see Kazarian with his lips all over, who else, but his real life wife, Traci Brooks! This is the first time we’ve seen Traci on TNA television since February of last year and honestly, she looks great from the ribcage up. Haha. The two have a mini makeout session, no doubt a good luck before the match and Kazarian makes his way to the ring. It was a good going on Mike Tenay’s part, re-stating that Traci was the original Knockout. Indeed, she was. On to the matter at hand, Kazarian spends a little time pre-match, cutting a promo as usual. He says that TNA was built on the foundation of the X-Division. “Maybe not as much foundation that’s on Cookie’s face right now, but you get the point.” Oh how true it is.

Cue the major malfunction meltdown from TNA’s Jersey Shore princess.

Shaul Guerrero Added to FCW Roster (Includes New Pictures)

While Alicia Fox‘s sister has been removed from the FCW roster, Vickie Guerrero‘s daughter has been added.

Shaul Guerrero, who will be competing under the name of Raquel Diaz, has been added to the online roster. Her profile includes new pictures of her also (one of which you can see to your left).

Check out her profile and pictures here.

Thanks to Rhys for the tip.

Two Names That Didn’t Make Tough Enough Are…

50

According to PWInsider, WSU World Champion Mercedes Martinez and WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage were both in contention for the final crop of Tough Enough contestants, but ultimately did not make the cut.

Last month, we revealed that Savage had two callbacks for the show and was said to be in ‘deeper talks than most’ according to a source.

Meanwhile in an interview with Diva Dirt, Mercedes Martinez noted that she wasn’t going to apply at first. After being nudged a little bit and asked why she hadn’t applied by the producers, she eventually did apply.

Aside from Rima Fakih, it’s unknown who else is on the cast at this point. As with most reality competitions, the contestants are likely under strict confidentiality agreements.

WWE Tough Enough will return on April 4th.

Footage of the much-discussed TNA tryout match between Isis the Amazon and Leva Bates this past Tuesday has leaked online:

FCW Diva Removed from Roster, Possibly Gone

FCW Diva and sister of Alicia Fox, Caylee Turner — real name Christina Crawford — has been removed from FCW’s Divas roster page.

In the past, this has usually signified that a talent has been let go or requested their release. Please note that has not been verified at this time, however.

Christina followed in the footsteps of sister Alicia last year, signing a developmental deal and debuting in FCW in July.

Thanks to Laura for the tip!

Rosita and Sarita Land Super Luchas Magazine Cover

11

The arrival of new TNA Knockout, Rosita and her partnership with Sarita has scored some big press in Mexico.

Sarosita scored a big win in their debut last week on Impact, when Rosita pinned Velvet Sky following a moonsault, in an 8-woman tag team match.

Congratulations to both Knockouts.

Leva Bates, Niya in TNA Tryouts

14

As well as Isis the Amazon, Leva Bates and Niya also competed in tryouts with TNA this week.

Leva, who is based in Orlando, took on Isis last night and lost via chokeslam. She is one of the rising independent female talents, wowing crowds especially at SHIMMER, with her superhero-themed ring attire. Leva has attire ranging from Iron Man to Chun Li from Street Fighter, which always makes her a popular personality for fans. She was featured in our Five to Watch last year.

Niya, meanwhile, was the mystery name that faced Madison Rayne on Monday night in a dark match that got some pretty bad reviews. Niya is best known for her work in WSU but also works for Afa the Wild Samoan’s WXW promotion. She was featured on the last WSU iPPV defeating Athena.

Thoughts: I’ve seen a couple of Niya’s match (against Athena and Kristin Astara) and she is green in the ring. Isis obviously has the star attraction and could be a marketing dream. Leva would be a fun addition too if they keep her gimmick intact.

SmackDown Spoilers: February 18th, 2011

Spoilers for Friday’s SmackDown below:

Spoiler
*Maryse and Layla beat Eve and Beth Phoenix. Michelle McCool came out with Layla to do commentary, but she looked like she was limping. She’s definitely hurt, as she has a cast on her right foot. Michelle interfered and sold it as if she injured her foot, but she was definitely already wearing a cast and limping beforehand. (Source: ProWrestling.net)
