Candice Michelle Confirms Miscarriage

30

Sad news… Candice Michelle has confirmed via her Facebook page that she suffered a miscarriage on Sunday night.

We had suspected as much when Michelle posted some cryptic tweets over the past few days. Nonetheless, the confirmation is truly saddening.

In a statement, Candice wrote:

On Sunday I suffered a miscarriage! I have both physically and mentally been through a lot of trauma! I have seen the Doc and there must have been a genetic defect and this angel wouldn’t have been able to survive in the outside world! It’s so difficult to say goodbye yet I know through my FAITH that there is a reason for everything! “With Faith there is no Fear!”

Click here to read her full statement.

Candice adds that she has been medically cleared to attend an autograph signing she had already been scheduled for this weekend in Miami. What a trouper!

Our thoughts & prayers are with Candice.

Jillian Hall Announces Pregnancy

31

Big congratulations are in order for former WWE Diva, Jillian and husband Mike.

Congrats to Jillian!

SmackDown Spoilers: February 25th, 2011

Spoilers for Friday’s SmackDown below:

Spoiler
* Teddy Long was shown on the tron and said he will have Vickie fight for her job in a mixed tag with Drew as her partner against Edge and Kelly Kelly tonight in the Main Event.

* Rosa Mendes defeated Layla with Michelle by Disqualification due to Michelle’s interference. Rosa actually didn’t do to bad in here which is surprising. At one point they took it to the outside and fought near where Michelle was on commentary. I couldn’t see really good, but it looked like Rosa pushes Michelle off of the chair and Layla gets back in the ring to try to win by countout. The ref turns to the outside to find Michelle attacking Rosa and disqualifies her. Layla finds out about this and is furious. She yells at Michelle, and Michelle gets back in the ring. Layla continues to yell at her and the crowd is yelling for a catfight to start. Instead, they both leave the ring and the dissension continues. I woukd say that the crowd was pretty hot for that confrontation. Just wondering who will make a face turn out of this?? Note to mention, Layla looked HOT!!

* Main Event Mixed Tag Team Match – Vickie’s Career on the Line: Edge & Kelly Kelly defeated Drew McIntyre & Vickie Guerrero. Kelly hits Vickie with the spear and outside of the ring they go. Edge wins by pinfall with the spear. In the ring, Edge celebrates while Vickie is shown crying. Teddy comes out, and funny thing to note is that Edge is doing Teddy’s little dance that he does. Haha. Teddy fires her and all Vickie does is plead with Edge to forgive her and get her job back. She goes outside to beg the Referree, Booker T, Michael Cole, and even the Camera man. Edge insteads sings her a song, the “Na Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye song”. The crowd starts chanting and Edge celebrates afterwards. Suddenly, Alberto Del Rio shows up from the crowd and attacks Edge. He gets booed, but not as much heat as I thought he would. (Source: PWInsider)

Raw Redux (February 21, 2011): Bellas Inch Closer to the Butterfly…

60

After successfully defending her Divas Championship on last week’s edition of Monday Night Raw against Natalya, it looks Eve is looking to face off against new challengers. This week, Eve teams up with Gail Kim to take on The Bella Twins. Will the dastardly duo use their ‘Twin Magic’ to get one up on the champ, or can Eve and Gail get revenge for the backstage beatdown they received last week?

Check out the match below:

We start things off with all four competitors in the ring and The Bella Twins are busy talking a lot of smack. Hope they can back that up. Before the match starts, we’re treated to a replay of last week’s brawl. I swear, the image of a Bella snatching Eve up by the throat will be forever etched into my memory. With the replay done, the official signals for the bell and our match is underway.

Sunny to be Inducted into WWE Hall of Fame?

65

Former WWE Diva, Sunny — real name Tammy Sytch — will be part of this year’s WWE Hall of Fame, reports PWInsider.

Sytch performed for WWE from 1995 through 1998 and is considered by WWE to be the ‘original Diva’.

Following her time in WWE, Sytch went onto work for WCW and ECW.

In 2007, she made her return to WWE television after a 10 year absence on the 15th anniversary episode of Raw.

Sunny again returned to in the Miss WrestleMania battle royal in 2009. That match, believe it or not, was her first ever (and only) match in a WWE ring.

Sytch recently denied claims that she was telling people she would inducted into the Hall of Fame, instead saying she’d be in Atlanta during WrestleMania weekend to work for Ring of Honor.

Candice Michelle Tweets About Going Through Trauma, Says She’s Heart Broken

34

Former WWE Women’s Champion, Candice Michelle has posted some disconcerting messages on her Twitter page.

Candice took to Twitter to ask her followers to pray for her last night. She has since posted some updates:

To my friends and fans thanks for the prayers! My hearts broken, been through trama, but healings begining! Will talk after Doc tom and I’m ready! Please know ill be okay!

Hello CandiAddicts just to update u I’ve been in bed all day recovering and will see doc tom eve. After that ill post statement on my facebook! Please be patient and understanding, thank U! I luv u all!

Candice announced her second pregnancy last week and one can’t help but think that her trauma may have something to do with that. We should know more tomorrow when she releases a statement.

On behalf of Diva Dirt, our thoughts are with Candice at this time. Please keep her in your thoughts also.

Elimination Chamber in Review: Divas Deliver 100% Stratusfaction (That’s a Guarantee!)

It’s funny how things work out sometimes, isn’t it? You take a throw away pay-per-view like the Elimination Chamber, the show that’s get stuck between the big two, and you put together a rather weak card of five matches that leaves so much to be desired. For Diva fans the show appeared to suck even more because there wasn’t a match announced at all. I can’t speak for everyone, but I didn’t really want to watch the show. All day I debated whether or not to order it and my gut kept telling me to do it; give the show a chance and you won’t be disappointed. The show ended up getting ordered and low and behold it blew the Royal Rumble completely out of the water. Not only did the matches deliver, but the show was full of surprises. New champions were crowned, both Elimination Chambers far exceeded expectations, and the WWE continued their theme of shock/awe returns. That Diva match never happened but if you want my humble opinion (and you know you do), what we got was much, much better.

When an announcer gets in the ring for what seems to be no apparent reason, I, like all Diva fans should, cringe because it usually spells bad things for the girls. Diva dance offs or bikini contests, or something that’s not a match, usually ends up taking place. So when Booker T got in the ring, my reaction was natural. Booker T has a microphone and he says that he wants to introduce somebody and that this somebody is going to be a trainer on the new season of Tough Enough along with himself and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. He glances in the direction of the stage and a few seconds later some very familiar theme musics begins to play.

TRISH STRATUS WALKS OUT!

FCW Diva’s Release Confirmed

14

As we pretty much figured last week, Caylee Turner (real name Christina Crawford) has indeed been released from her developmental deal.

Crawford is the sister of current Raw Diva, Alicia Fox.

According to WrestleZone, Crawford’s release didn’t come as a surprise as there was some drama surrounding her. Take from that what you will.

Thoughts: It’s a shame things turned out this way. I was actually pretty excited to see WWE sign Christina following Alicia’s success in transitioning into a pretty good WWE Diva.

Trish Interviewed by WWE.com Following Elimination Chamber

7

WWE.com caught up with Trish Stratus following her comeback last night at the Elimination Chamber pay per view.

Speaking on her return and why she felt the need to tangle with Lay-Cool, Trish said:

Lay-Cool irks me a bit. They’ve been running their mouths off, so I thought I’d show them who’s “tough enough.” [laughs]

Stratus also poked fun at her snafu in the ring. For those who missed it, Trish didn’t quite cinch in her patented Stratusphere move on Layla. But as she points out — she’s retired!

There’s just a little rule to take away [from tonight’s experience]: Whenever I come to a WWE event – although I am retired – I should always, always have my wrestling boots. When you wear heels and you try to be a Diva, it’s not a good thing, as we saw this evening when I tripped up ap a little bit. Hey, I’m retired. I tried to deliver some Stratusfaction, and I’m a little bit rusty. [laughs]

You can read the full interview here.

Detailed Report & Pictures from ACW’s ‘A Psychotic Break’ (February 20th)

Big thanks to DD reader Brandon once again for sending in another live report and pictures from Anarchy Championship Wrestling in Texas:

Before the show, there was a pre-show match featuring “The Wrestling Goddess” Athena. She teamed up with fellow Submission Squad member (and crowd favorite) Davey Vega in a tag match against Super Electro and his robot partner whose name I forgot. The SS duo took the win in this pre-show match, after Athena and Vega hit the SS Destroyer: a wheel-barrel to a DDT double team, where Vega holds Electro with the wheel-barrel position, and Athena plants his opponent with a DDT, with Vega maintaining the wheel-barrel position. Decent match.

News & Notes: Trish Comments on Return, JR Comments Also, Divas Trend Worldwide

18

Lots of notables coming out of tonight’s Elimination Chamber pay per view:

Trish Stratus took to her Twitter page to post a few messages about her comeback tonight.

Following her first appearance when she was announced as a trainer on Tough Enough, Trish wrote: “Wow good to be back in front of a live ppv crowd & the @wweuniverse! What did u think of my new catchphase?”

Trish Stratus Announced as Tough Enough Trainer

23

Legendary former WWE Diva and first ever Diva Dirt Legacy Award recipient, Trish Stratus made a surprise return to WWE tonight at Elimination Chamber.

Trish was announced as a trainer on the upcoming season of Tough Enough along with Stone Cold Steve Austin and Booker T.

The show is currently being filmed and will air beginning April 4th on USA Network.

Thoughts: What an epic surprise! Hearing Trish’s music hit was incredible. Tough Enough just got 100% Stratusyfing!

Elimination Chamber 2011: Kelly Rehired, Trish Stratusfies Lay-Cool

Lay-Cool meet Trish Stratus!

Despite having no advertised Divas match, WWE certainly delivered an explosive night for Diva fans at Elimination Chamber tonight. After Vickie Guerrero entered the ring pleading with Teddy Long to rehire her boyfriend Dolph Ziggler, Teddy instead rehired Kelly Kelly who had been fired by Vickie a couple of weeks ago on SmackDown.

Getting a measure of retribution, K2 attacked the now former SmackDown consultant but was soon fended off by Lay-Cool with Michelle hitting her vicious running knee on a defenseless Kelly.

But wait! It wasn’t over yet… Soon Trish Stratus, fresh from her appearance earlier in the evening, hit the ring coming to Kelly’s aid and took out both members of Lay-Cool. The seven-time Women’s Champion busted out some old favorites including the Chick Kick on Michelle McCool and the Stratusphere on Layla from the corner. She ended with a double Stratusfaction on both of the ‘flawless’ Divas.

Stratusfaction was certainly in the air tonight!

EDIT: Oops! We mistakenly reported that Vickie Guerrero was fired by Teddy Long at the pay per view last night. That didn’t happen. I got confused in the heat of the moment. After rehiring Kelly Kelly, Teddy Long said: “I gave this person free rein to personally thank you for all your time as acting general manager.” That would indicate that Vickie has simply been replaced by Teddy as the GM of SmackDown upon his return, while she continues to serve as official consultant.

ACW’s A Psychotic Break Results: New Tag Champs, Athena and Lady Poison in Action

Anarchy Championship Wrestling held their ‘A Psychotic Break’ event this evening in Live Oak, TX and the card featured several of the American Joshi roster in action. Check out the results below:

* As reported earlier, Rachel Summerlyn and Jessica James defeated Children of Pain, Flippy Shit and Smurf Nation in a four team elimination match to become the new ACW Tag Team Champions. This marks the first time the titles have been held by a female team. Congrats to the new champs.

* Speaking of Jessica James, her alter ego, Lady Poison, successfully defended the American Joshi Title against “Five Star” Amanda Fox via The Poison Kiss.

* In non-title action, “The Wrestling Goddess” Athena defeated Jen Alise with her top rope stunner finisher. I’m told the match was “quite good.”

Thanks to John Hyperion of Dirty Dirty Sheets for the results.

Rachel Summerlyn and Jessica James Become New ACW Tag Team Champions

SHIMMER regulars, Rachel Summerlyn and Jessica James, collectively known as Rachel and Jessica’s Excellent Tag Team, have just been crowned the new Anarchy Championship Wrestling Tag Team Champions.

The duo won the belt at tonight at ACW’s ‘A Psychotic Break’ in a four team elimination match also involving Smurf Nation, Children of Pain and Flippy Shit. Rachel and Jessica pulled out the surprise win by pinning a member of both Children of Pain and Flippy Shit, eliminating both teams. Smurf Nation, who were the champions going in, were eliminated earlier in the match.

This marks the first time that the ACW Tag Team titles are held by a female tag team. Great to see women represented in a male dominated division. Congrats to Rachel and Jessica!

Thanks to John Hyperion for the tip!

Diva Dirt’s Guide to Autobiographies We’d Like to See…

34

The release of ‘Undisputed’, Chris Jericho’s highly recommended second autobiography, got us thinking. It’s been a while since we’ve seen an autobiography from a female wrestler. It’s been 10 years since Chyna released hers and eight since Lita‘s. Last year did however see a biography based on the life of the legendary Mildred Burke, but that was written by Jeff Leen and wasn’t self-penned (Burke died in 1989).

So, we sat and we thought about it — who would we like to see put their life in print? We’ve compiled just a few names that we feel could pen a compelling autobiography. As always, we want to hear from you too. Leave your suggestions in the comments!

Unwrapped: Spring Has Sprung Early, Courtesy of Alicia

24

View Alicia’s photoshoot by clicking here.

Our Unwrapped feature is making its return! Every week, coinciding with WWE.com’s weekly photoshoot updates, we’ll take a look at the newest Diva photoshoot and give you the opportunity to voice your opinions on it. Let’s unwrap this week’s eye candy..

Alicia Fox‘s photoshoots have long been Diva Dirt favorites, so imagine our glee when we see a new one pop up today! Does it meet our expectations?

The Look: Despite the fact that her dress is tight and tiny, Alicia looks more cute to me than sexy, and that’s not a bad thing at all. Some Divas’ idea of cute is dressing like a pre-pubescent girl (pigtails, tiny skirts), so Alicia gets major points for pulling off a fun, yet age-appropriate look. The dress, in a bright floral pattern, looks gorgeous, and paired with her slightly tousled wavy hair (which signals that this is an older shoot, given the absence of its current red shade), gives her an easygoing, natural look. I love it.

The Poses: Alicia poses with the ever-present equipment trunk, this time in a lively shade of purple. It makes me wonder if they decided, since they make such frequent appearances in Diva photoshoots, the trunks should be painted “pretty” (expect painted-on animal print next!). I’m not complaining, though, because the color fits in well with the bright hues on her dress and keeps up the colorful spring theme. Her poses include a lot of the usual lounging and smiling, but a few, namely the ones where she’s looking off-camera, stand out. Alicia exudes such a natural easy-going personality in her photos that shots like those, which may look like silly attempts at glamour shots with other Divas, come off as spontaneous and interesting. Heck, she’s so good at it that even the most plain poses jump off the screen, and this shoot is no expection.

Tara Selling T-Shirt for Charity – Details on How You Can Help!

6

TNA Knockout, Tara — real name Lisa Marie Varon — has announced plans to fundraise for the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

The former Knockouts Champion will be designing and selling a special t-shirt with all proceeds being donated to the ASPCA.

Lisa is asking fans to  suggest design ideas for the tee to Ariana Steele via Twitter.

This is a wonderful charitable effort by Lisa, and we hope our readers will help.

A Londoner’s Eye: Give Rima Fakih a Chance on Tough Enough…

(Well this is awkward… After a four month absence, I am back with just my second blog post. David puts me to shame, don’t he?)

The news earlier this week that reigning Miss USA, Rima Fakih, will be a contestant on the impending revival of WWE Tough Enough lit a fire under my pen. And it seems it also lit a fire under a lot of you too. The recurring theme seems to be: “Great, another model in WWE.” Other criticisms that have popped up include: “It’s a slap in the face to the masses of independent wrestlers that auditioned,” and “Why doesn’t she just do the Diva Search?”

The outpouring of criticism from fans and purists to Fakih’s appointment, in my perhaps unpopular opinion, is shortsighted and once again exemplifies the hasty nature of the Internet. (Shocking, right?)

As soon as a story is out there, there’s a knee-jerk reaction it seems. Look no further than Henry Cavill being cast as Superman. That news a few weeks ago spurred outcries that too many iconic superhero roles were going to British actors and not American ones. Sure, Superman may represent Americana but first of all, it’s fiction! Secondly, the character is not going to be British, so what difference does it make? Before a single frame of footage had been shot, poor (gorgeous) Henry Cavill had a target on his back.

Sound familiar?
