Two Names Added To NXT Women’s Title Ladder Match For Stand & Deliver

The field is now set at six, as Indi Hartwell and the current NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez are added to the ladder bout at Stand & Deliver. The reason for this match even taking place is due to the uncertainty on if Perez was medically cleared to compete. After she retained against Meiko Satomura … Read more

Roxanne Perez Retains At Roadblock; Dolin defeats Jayne

On this week’s episode of NXT was the Roadblock edition with huge stakes. This episode determined who would go on to Stand & Deliver as NXT Women’s Champion. The champion Roxanne Perez took on her biggest competition, the Final Boss – Meiko Satomura.

The match took place in the main event and the broadcast stayed with the women until we saw a finish. Perez would not go down throughout the match no matter what Satomura threw at her and it would be a final counter after one of many kicks that did Satomura in. Perez ducked under the final kick and rolled back into a pin to get the win and retain her title.

After the match though, it left the crowd stunned. Satomura went and presented Perez with the title belt and as she was congratulating her, Perez fell face-first into the mat. This caused great concern from everyone in the building. Referees, medical, Booker T, and Shawn Michaels came to the aid of Perez. She was stretchered out of the arena. NXT posted on social media that Perez was kept overnight in the hospital for observation and continued testing.

Also on Roadblock was a heated match between former Toxic Attraction partners Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne. Over the past month, the duo has broken up and shown their animosity toward each other in a big way. Dolin picked up the win but post-match Jayne wasn’t finished unleashing her attack. She would continue to pummel Dolin before going out of the ring to get the steel chair she brought out earlier in the match. She placed the chair around the neck of Dolin and went to go up top in the corner. The referees came out from the back to stop her and removed the chair from Dolin. Jayne was kept back which hints that this feud is far from over.

Thea Hail also conquered her fear and came face-to-face with Ava outside the ring, however, inside the ring Andrea Chase lost once again to Joe Gacy.

Two women on the show had vignettes saying they were heading towards the NXT Women’s Championship regardless if Perez would retain or Satomura would win. It was Tiffany Stratton opening the show and a later vignette from Lyra Valkyria.

The team of Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn had a promo video charging by the moonlight and look forward to next week after a Full Moon ritual. They continue to target the tag team division.

Speaking of the tag team division. There still show some hesitancy from Fallon Henley against her tag team partner and champion Kiana James. James received some roses but seemingly was hiding the message card. Briggs assumed the roses from Jensen but Jensen didn’t seem to know where the roses came from despite him still being excited for a date with James later in the night.

Roxanne Perez vs. Meiko Satomura Set For NXT Roadblock

On the Feb. 14 episode of NXT, a huge tag team match took place in the main event. A match full of women who are no strangers to gold as the current NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez teamed up with the returning Meiko Satomura to take on Kayden Carter and Katana Chance.

Prior to the match in a backstage segment, Perez expressed appreciation for Satomura answering her call to be her tag team partner. Satomura responded stating that she has her reasons for wanting to tag with her. The match came down to Perez picking up the victory for their team with Pop Rox on Carter for the pin. Post match, the winning team celebrates as Satomura says she has done something for Perez and now she wants something in return and pointed to the NXT Women’s Title. Perez graciously accepted.

The match will take place at NXT Roadblock which will be a special NXT episode on March 7. The next premium live event for NXT will be Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania weekend.

Another women’s match on this week’s NXT continues at the hint of the in-ring debut of Ava Raine. The match itself was between Thea Hail and Tiffany Stratton and last week, Hail was kidnapped by Raine and the Schism and she came running back out screaming from the encounter. Raine appeared in the crowd which distracted Hail took much and Stratton took advantage. Stratton hit her moonsault for the victory.

Other women on the show included a Valentine’s Date between Kiana James and Brooks Jensen. Fallon Henley came to interrupt it saying that James is cheating on Jensen with a guy named Zack who she spoke to on the phone the other week. The new tag team champions haven’t been fully on the same page mainly due to Henley’s distrust of James. James said Zack is her brother and she isn’t cheating on Jensen.

Isla Dawn continues to try and drive a wedge between Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley.

Sol Ruca had a vignette you can view below. She wants another match against Zoey Stark.

Lastly, Jacy Jayne addressed the fans about her attack on Gigi Dolin last week and the demise of Toxic Attraction. Jayne stated that she was always considered the third wheel in the group and now she is the only one standing. Indi Hartwell had a promo later in the night and called out Jayne. The two will meet next week.

New NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Crowned At Vengeance Day

We have new tag team champions in the women’s division of NXT.

The unlikely duo of Kiana James and Fallon Henley are the new champions as they defeated Katana Chance and Kayden Carter at Vengeance Day. This is the first gold for both Henley and James in WWE. This ended the reign of the KC’s at 186 days. This was the longest reign of any women’s tag team across both NXT and the main roster.

The final moments of the match took place when Chance went up top for her 450 splash finisher on Henley. James knocked Chance off the turnbuckle to avoid the splash. This allowed Henley to get a pin on Carter while James held the legs down under the ropes as the referee didn’t see it.

The new champs celebrated in the ring with Brooks & Jensen.

The other women’s match of the event had Roxanne Perez retaining her NXT Women’s Title against both members of Toxic Attraction in a Triple Threat. It was originally a pure handicap bout as both Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne would dominate the champion. This came to a halt a third of the way through when Dolin and Jayne realized only one could become champ. Although at one point in the match, both Dolin and Jayne almost had Perez in a double pin after headbutting each other and falling on top of her.

Despite it being a true Triple Threat throughout most of the match, in the end, we witnessed Dolin and Jayne teaming again to try and take out Perez. They even brought out a table and set it up on the outside. It would end up being Dolin that went through the table from the ring post as Perez would then hit a Super Pop Rox from the top on Jayne to get the pin and the victory.

During the show, there was also a taped promo of Lyra Valkyria issuing a challenge for this week’s NXT and it appears that Valentina Feroz has accepted. The two face off this Tuesday.

Toxic Attraction Stays United; Tiffany Stratton Victorious In Return Match

If you missed the Jan. 24 episode of NXT, then you missed a show filled with the women’s division. There were a total of four women’s matches along with various segments. The show closed out with the Championship Summit which had the NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez go face-to-face-to-face with Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin of Toxic Attraction. Her opponents for Vengeance Day on Feb. 4. But more on that later.

First, let’s go over the results of the matches –

Tiffany Stratton def. Indi Hartwell

Elektra Lopez def. Wendy Choo

Fallon Henley & Kiana James def. Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley

Katana Chance & Kayden Carter (c) def. Alba Fyre & Sol Ruca – NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles

To open this week’s show, Tiffany Stratton returns to the ring for the first time since August. Her return ruffled the feathers of Indi Hartwell when Stratton seemed smug about how she referred to the women’s locker room. The match would result in the favor of the returning Stratton as she delivered a moonsault from the top rope to pin Hartwell for the victory.

Next up, we have Elektra Lopez taking on Wendy Choo. This match was more so for the story of Lopez who has been talking to Valentina Feroz as of late. Feroz has had a string of bad luck over the past number of months. Her tag team partner Yulisa Leon was sidelined with an injury, and she lost her mentor of sorts in Sanga. Lopez told Feroz last week to watch her match this week to see how to be victorious.

Lopez is known for her cheating ways to win matches and this time would be no different. After Choo got a near fall from a cross body, Lopez pulled brass knuckles out of her gear to utilize. She delivered a right hand which knocked out Choo for the three count. Post-match, Feroz looked on, and even though she doesn’t agree with Lopez’s tactics maybe she is reconsidering.

For the last two matches, you can read the results in the NXT Women’s Tag Team Title Match Set For Vengeance Day article.

Now onto the other moments for the women –

Nikkita Lyons was attacked in the parking lot. There were several people around when she was attacked and it would be Hartwell and Lyra Valkyria who came and tried to help her. This was announced as Cora Jade was being interviewed in the locker room. Jade was upset that her interview was cut short just as she was explaining that Valkyria left her a black feather in her locker.

Stevie Turner was interviewed (sort of) by Mckenzie Mitchell. Turner stated that her debut will be next week and that she would eventually like to face Roxanne Perez. She has a feeling Perez won’t be champion past Vengeance Day.

Thea Hail had an award ceremony with the rest of Chase U.

Lastly, we had the Championship Summit which took place in the main event. Roxanne Perez will be defending her NXT Women’s Title for the first time at Vengeance Day in a Triple Threat against both members of Toxic Attraction. Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne won this opportunity by simultaneously eliminating each other at the end of a 20-woman battle royal.

Throughout the night, both Dolin and Jayne had separate interviews. Basically talking about their growing dislike for one another ever since they were named number one contenders. They took this to the summit and they didn’t hold back. They would trade insults with Perez eventually saying she loves to see both of them go at each other. The champ was afraid of a handicap situation at Vengeance Day but now thinks it may be a real Triple Threat.

Dolin and Jayne end up getting up from their seats and in each other’s faces until they then put on a smile. It was an act all along and Toxic Attraction is still standing together. They would target Perez and put her through the table. The show ended with a shot of Dolin and Jayne holding up the championship together.

NXT – Feb. 1

  • Cora Jade vs. Lyra Valkyria
  • Stevie Turner Debuts

Vengeance Day – Feb. 4

  • Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Jacy Jayne – NXT Women’s Title
  • Kayden Carter & Katana Chance (c) vs. Fallon Henley & Kiana James – NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles

Roxanne Perez Sits Down To Speak As New NXT Women’s Champion

The pre-taped Dec. 20 episode of NXT had a lot of attention from the women’s division. There were three matches and a fourth that never got underway.

First, we had Nikita Lyons take on Zoey Stark as their feud continues to rage. Stark tried to attack Lyons from behind to start the match but unlike the last sneak attack, Lyons was ready and caught her with a Buzzsaw Kick. The match was pretty back and forth leading up to the ending which saw Stark stealing a victory. Stark reversed an O’Connor roll with a roll of her own while holding the ropes to get the pin.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviewed Cora Jade. Jade gave an unhappy response to Roxanne Perez becoming the new NXT Women’s Champion. Wendy Choo attacked her starting a brawl that leads to a match for the next week.

In another segment, Fallon Henley was at her family bar along with Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen. Kiana James would enter with Giovanna declaring that she was purchasing the bar. Jensen is the one who alerted James of the bar being in financial trouble. Henley didn’t take kindly to James’ advances and challenged her next week to a match.

The second women’s match was for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships and that had Katana Chance & Kayden Carter defend their gold against Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley as well as Toxic Attraction in a Triple Threat.

The two teams that were involved in the fall were Nile & Paxley along with the champs Carter & Chance. After Paxley pushed Chance off the top rope, Nile locked in a dragon sleeper on Carter. Carter pushed off the ropes and reversed it getting the pin and the victory. This means that Carter and Chance’s reign continues as they are quickly approaching 150 days as champions.

The third women’s match was Indi Hartwell taking on Elektra Lopez. Weeks back Lopez made her return and attacked but Hartwell and Sol Ruca. Since then, Hartwell has had a small fight with Roxanne Perez but now wanted to seek revenge on Lopez. Unfortunately for Hartwell, Lopez had more tricks up her sleeve. By hiding brass knuckles in the top turnbuckle she used them to punch Hartwell in the head to pick up the pin and the victory.

Lastly for matches, there was supposed to be Alba Fyre taking Sol Ruca but it didn’t take place. Prior to their match, Isla Dawn blinded Fyre with mist which had her seek out medical attention. Fyre was cleared to compete, but as she headed to the ring Dawn attacked her and threw her into the ring steps causing the match to not take place.

Also on the Dec. 20 episode of NXT we heard from the new NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez. In a sit-down interview, she spoke about becoming the new champion and what this has meant to hear as working towards this moment for the past five years.

NXT lineup for Dec. 27

  • Kiana James vs. Fallon Henley
  • Wendy Choo vs. Cora Jade
  • Lyra Valkyria vs. Lash Legend

Roxanne Perez Becomes First Iron Survivor At NXT Deadline

Two women’s matches kicked off NXT Deadline on December 10.

The last NXT premium live event of the year opened up with the first-ever women’s Iron Survivor Challenge. Roxanne Perez and Zoey Stark were the first two entrants until Kiana James joined. Stark was the first to score a fall when she pinned Perez to send her to the penalty box for 90 seconds. Cora Jade came in next and scored a fall over James before Indi Hartwell entered last and sent Perez back to the penalty box. Perez finally scored a fall over Stark to give everyone but James one point.

Perez pulled ahead when she hit Pop Rox on her rival Jade. After 90 seconds, Jade returned to the bout but struggled to score another fall before the clock hit 25 minutes. Perez was declared the winner and has now earned a future NXT Women’s Championship match. That match will take place on Jan. 10 at New Year’s Evil.

Right after the Iron Survivor Challenge, Alba Fyre had her chance at revenge against Isla Dawn. The action was hard-fought in and out the ring, but it wasn’t without Dawn’s mysterious antics. The original referee was taken out after black goo began falling out of his mouth. After a new ref came in, Dawn sent Fyre into an exposed turnbuckle and planted her for the three-count.

The tag division received some minor developments during a pair of backstage segments. In one interview, Katana Chance and Kayden Carter interrupted Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley to give them props and tease a future match. Later on, Nile and Paxley attacked Toxic Attraction when they confronted the champs, which led to all three teams brawling until they were pulled apart. It is now confirmed that Nile and Paxley will face Toxic Attraction on Tuesday’s new episode.

Looking ahead, NXT’s next televised special will be New Year’s Evil on January 10, while the next PLE will be Vengeance Day on February 4 in Charlotte, NC.

What did you think of Deadline? Do you think Roxanne Perez will dethrone Mandy Rose? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Mandy Rose Returns Ahead Of Halloween Havoc; Pick Your Poison Match Results

Who stood tall heading into NXT’s Halloween Havoc on the Oct. 18 episode of NXT?

The NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose returned to NXT after a few weeks to help build towards her match at this weekend’s premium live event as she hopes to retain so she can make it to 365-days as champion.

Before we get to Rose and the championship, the show started off with the first of two Pick Your Poison matches. Ahead of their Weapon’s Wild Match at Halloween Havoc, both Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade picked each other’s opponents. Perez took on Raw’s Rhea Ripley. Jade took on SmackDown’s Raquel Rodriguez later in the show.

First, Perez put on a lengthy hard-hitting match with Ripley. Ripley arrives with all of her Judgment Day faction which ended up being the downfall of Perez. Despite putting up a good fight and narrowly almost defeating Ripley, a distraction by Dominik Mysterio was what it took for a Riptide to take out Perez. Ripley gets the pin.

Later in the night, Jade took on Rodriguez and the match ended in a disqualification giving the win to Jade. After Rodriguez took down her opponent with a lariat, Jade grabbed a bat and brought it into the ring. The bat would get into the hands of Rodriguez who used it to cause the DQ. Directly after the match, Perez rushed to ringside to start brawling with her former best friend.

Once back in the ring, Jade found herself between Perez and Rodriguez as Perez delivered a super kick. Jade ran off after Perez went for a swing of the bat.

The third women’s match of the night had the challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship Alba Fyre taking on Sonya Deville. Deville shocked the NXT crowd last week when she showed up to help Toxic Attraction during Mandy Rose’s absence. In a short match that was revving up to be so much more, Fyre would pin Deville with a roll up.

Deville and Toxic Attraction would immediately attack Fyre and hold her back with her own back as the NXT Women’s Champion made her way out to the ring. Rose says that at Halloween Havoc she will be fighting Fyre with Fire. Fyre fights off Toxic Attraction and Deville before Rose enters the ring. Rose attempts to go after Fyre with the championship belt but Fyre catches her with the bat beforehand. Rose retreats.

Rose won the NXT Women’s Championship at last year’s Halloween Havoc by defeating Raquel Rodriguez. If she defeats Fyre and retains, Oct. 26 will mark 365-days as champion.

Shotzi returned to NXT and will be the host of Halloween Havoc alongside Quincy Elliott. More on that here.

Kayden Carter and Katana Chance will defend their NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships against Zoey Stark and Nikkita Lyons on the Oct. 25 episode of NXT. More on that here.

Thea Hail was on this week’s episode during a Chase U segment where she requested another match with Kiana James.

Check back in with Diva Dirt this Saturday for the Halloween Havoc Discussion Post.
