As we all know, WWE plans to unify the WWE Women’s Championship and the WWE Divas Championship, in a lumberjill match at Night of Champions. With that huge match less than a week away, you’d think there’d be some kind of for it, right? Wrong.
In lieu of an actual match, we were treated to a song and dance contest featuring Eve Torres and Maryse on last night’s Raw, courtesy of the Raw Roulette wheel and it was… interesting to say the least. Check it out below:
First out to the ring is the team of Maryse and Ted DiBiase, and I must say Maryse looks great. I can tell already that her gear is gonna be the best part of this ‘match’ Next out are Eve and R-Truth, who are at a clear advantage in this contest. Justin Roberts takes the time to announce the rules to both teams: Each team must pick a member to dance and a member to sing and the winner will be chosen by the WWE Universe.
Despite Syfy dropping NXT following the September 28th episode, Canada’s The Score will continue to air the reality competition based on the network’s latest schedules for October 6th and 13th. The show airs in Canada on Wednesdays at 9pm. Meanwhile, it’s likely that NXT will move to WWE.com in the United States.

Hello readers and welcome to a brand new era here in Diva Dirt land. As of this week, yours truly is now the official SmackDown Redux writer. Exciting, right? As someone who never gets a chance to watch SmackDown thanks to the fact it’s not available as of yet in Podunk, Alabama, and because I never have the extra time, I’m really looking forward to covering the blue brand. I’m just going to jump right into things tonight so without further a do, lets get things going!
The Diva portions of SmackDown were raped tonight with segments, not that I’m complaining. First up, are Laycool who are backstage with Kaval.
Michelle McCool and Layla are backstage talking with Kaval sitting behind them. Michelle brings up the fact that she thinks it’s hilarious Teddy Long feels that Layla is the only one who is able to face Melina at Night of Champions. Layla agrees and the girls practically sing the phrase, “Teddy Long… always wrong!” Layla beams and says that Teddy has no idea about that tiny little clause in their contract. Michelle smiles in agreement and says that it’s thanks to Vickie. Layla says that they’re going to keep Lady Wa- wa guessing. Kaval is looking at them every now and then, by the way. It’s one of those moments where he is trying to be a good boyfriend and listen, but really, all he cares about is his upcoming match.
Anyway, Michelle tells Layla to picture the expression on Melina’s face when she steps inside the ring. Layla basically tells Michelle to stop the presses because she’s the one who is facing Melina at Night of Champions. Michelle disagrees and this leads to an argument between the two BFFs. Kaval is shaking his head in the background and finally he interrupts the little fight before it can turn personal. He politely asks both ladies to cool it because he has his first match tonight on SmackDown and he needs to concentrate. He tells them that he can’t even hear himself think because all he hears is whining. He makes some hilarious high-pitched whining noises to emphasis this point. Laycool are not amused.
This week on Superstars, we have our first look at the new NXT rookies accompanying their Pros in a mixed tag match. We have Goldust (accompanied by Aksana) pairing up with Gail Kim going head to head with Primo (accompanied by AJ Lee) teaming with Jillian. Definitely a possibility of interference by the rookies, but will it happen? Will the winning streak started on Tuesday be continued by Primo and everybody’s favorite Songstress Jillian? Or can will a new Shattered Dreams production break the box office? Lets find out!
(Quick note: If you didn’t see William Regal’s rap at the beginning of the program, seek it out! It was funny as hell and he even tried to “groove” whilst rapping! If Jillian can get an iTunes album, I think Regal should have one of his own. Now back to our Divas report!)
Out first is the (somewhat odd) pairing of Goldust and Gail Kim, with Aksana at his side. Quite a good reaction for this team! Gail is in her lovely lavander gear while Aksana is staying with her pro’s colors, a black top and pants with leopard print trimming. She’s stunning, no doubt about it. Next out is Primo and Jillian, accompanied by AJ Lee. Jillian’s sporting her usual outfit but this time it’s sea green – very nice color on her! AJ’s in a purple top and black shorts, very bouncy and energetic. The rookies exit the ring as the bell chimes, and it’s Primo and Goldust starting things off.
In a correction to the post earlier this week, Alicia Fox’s sister, Christina Crawford is actually going by the name of Caylee Turner in FCW. Christina was officially added to the FCW roster today. She was signed to a developmental deal in July. Christina is Alicia’s (real name Victoria Crawford) younger sister. You can see … Read more

THQ have released official character models for all the WWE Superstars featured in SmackDown vs Raw 2011. Check out all the Divas below! They all look so realistic this year, I can’t fault any of them. [nggallery id=418] Thanks to Meagan for her help.
Tuesday night’s NXT season three premiere scored a 0.96 cable rating, reports PWInsider. The show had 1,151,000 viewers. The rating is down from last week’s season two finale which scored a 1.02 and had 1,323,000 viewers.
Following Tuesday’s NXT season three premiere, it’s said that many ‘key’ people backstage were high on the NXT Rookie Divas, reports the Wrestling Observer. They write: People were noting Maxine in her dance playing with Chimel’s tie, joking she never got the memo about staying away from ties (from the Bryan firing). When it was … Read more
As revealed last night, the SmackDown vs Raw 2011 video game will feature 13 of the WWE Divas. However, one of those Divas — Women’s Champion, Layla — will only be made available in a downloadable content pack during the holiday season.
According to one of the game’s developers, Marcus Stephenson, this is due to THQ having to update her character model which meant that they couldn’t put her in the final release.
Meanwhile, Tiffany, who was announced for the game via the official SmackDown vs Raw forum, will not be a playable character it has been revealed.
Diva Dirt reader, Josh, sent in some more notes which you can check out after the cut:
At a live unveiling in San Francisco, THQ and Gamespot.com revealed the roster for the upcoming SmackDown vs Raw 2011 video game. The Divas roster this year will feature: Alicia Fox (making her video game debut), Brie Bella, Beth Phoenix, Eve Torres, Gail Kim, Kelly Kelly, Maryse, Melina, Michelle McCool Natalya and Nikki Bella. On the heels of last week’s shock announcement that season three would consist of nothing but rookie Divas, controversy has reigned supreme. From the internet backlash and scrutiny, to the firing of the six foot nine woman beast known as Aloisia, season three hasn’t been given much of a chance to succeed. It debut last night and instead of an epic failure of a program, we were treated to two fun challenges, some comedy, great ring debuts from the two season favorites, and the reveal of Vickie Guerrero‘s new rookie. The show was campy, a tad ridiculous, and yes, it was messy in a few spots. But above all else, the show was entertaining and has given us a lot to hopefully look forward too.
Here we go!
NXT kicks off in grand fashion with a hot entrance video for all the rookie girls and their pros, as well as a pyro, and to my delight, a lot of pink. The fans seem really excited for the all Diva show and that in turn, makes me excited! Josh Mathews and Michael Cole introduce themselves and talk about how excited they are for this special NXT season. They shoot it to Matt Striker, who looks so damn delicious I wanna take him home with me, and he says it’s time to meet the pros! Kelly Kelly walks out first and she officially introduces us to Naomi Night. She calls her rookie sassy, fun, and feisty! The Bellas come out next, and Brie Bella says that last season we watched their rookie do her thing on the mic. Nikki Bella takes over and says that this season, their rookie is going to do her thing in the ring. Why are they using their sex voices?! Jamie Keyes walks out after Nikki talks about how tight her (Jamie’s) body is. Oh Lordy.
Primo has to follow that and he gets no reaction what so ever. Maybe it’s because everyone is disgusted over his awful entrance music. No one should ever walk out to something that could be played during a ballroom dancing competition. Primo says that is rookie like a firecracker; she’s small but she will light you up. He brings out AJ Lee and wow, she’s peppy. Alicia Fox struts out to the stage after AJ and Primo, and she introduces her rookie as the meanest of the mean. Maxine walks out and immediately my eyes start to bleed. Homegirl clearly got dressed in the dark today. Yikes. Thankfully GOLDUST comes out and gets a nice pop from the crowd. He says he is going to premiere the next breakout star and he breathes Aksana‘s name out in a real creep voice. I love it so much. Aksana walks out in a hot ass gold dress and she just looks perfect next to the Golden One.
WWE Hall of Famer, Jim Ross, included his thoughts on last night’s NXT season three premiere in his latest blog. The former commentator adds that the dancing contest, which was much panned by fans online, was just an attempt at ‘entertainment’ and fans should lighten up. I can’t say I disagree. He writes: The first … Read more
