Diva Dirt has had the chance to sit down with some of the most popular and most talented females in the wrestling industry over the past couple of years. Producing high quality, lengthy audio interviews with your favourite women of wrestling has been our forte and we’ve delivered some pretty darn great ones!
As both Allison Danger and Kristin Astara are taking a well deserved break this week from their audio shows, we thought we’d take a look back at some of our best audio interviews! Perhaps you haven’t heard them before or are just new to Diva Dirt? Even if you have heard them, it’s always fun to listen again.
Here’s Volume 1 of our best interviews…
Awesome Kong
Conducted in April 2010, we had the opportunity to chat with Kong in one of her first post-TNA interviews. This interview took place just a week before the former Knockouts Champion made her return to Ring of Honor in May against Sara Del Rey. As feared as a competitor she may be, we can attest that Kong is one of the most genuinely friendly and polite people in the industry, as you’ll be able to tell from our chat!
In fact, we had such a good time with Kong that we invited her back a few weeks later for the Women of Wrestling Podcast too.
Delve into the archives with Diva Dirt‘s YouTube Classics and remind yourself of a time you may have forgotten or never seen before. Last week, Teddy Long ordered Lay-Cool to decide between them who would be Women’s Champion, citing there was only room for one title holder in the SmackDown women’s division. Well, this week, we found out whether it would be Layla or Michelle McCool that would hold the gold. Or did we? Tune in… Lay-Cool enter … Read more
It came as a surprise to me to find out we had a Divas match on Superstars this week. I’m not complaining, however! Tonight we get one half of the Blondetourage, Tiffany taking on one half of Lay-Cool, Layla. Personally, I’m looking forward to see these two mix it up. Can Tiffany overcome the power of Lay-Cool? Watch below…
Out first is Tiffany, in a cute blue & yellow top and skirt. I have to say, the skirt is starting to grow on me. Next comes the self professed co-Women’s champions, Layla and Michelle McCool. Layla’s in her red gear, which I adore. Michelle’s sporting cut off shorts, a light blue ‘Flawless’ shirt and knee high boots. Normally I’m not a fan of ultra-short shorts but Michelle’s got the legs to pull them off.
The bell rings and the two go into a collar and elbow tieup. Layla slips behind Tiffany, clutching her by the waist. Tiffany applies her elbow to Layla’s wrist which causes the brunette to simply push Tiffany foward…and then she kneels down and fluffs up Tiffany’s skirt. Not gonna lie, I laughed. But this seems to get Tiffany riled up as she strikes with a knee to the gut, followed by some stiff forearms! She goes to whip Layla off the ropes but Layla reverses and Tiffany executes a nice looking sunset flip!
Tonight the long anticipated return of Hamada to Impact took place and sadly for her, it was in very unspectacular fashion. She teamed up with Taylor Wilde to take on the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions, Velvet Sky and Lacey Von Erich, and the match ended up being one of the worst TNA matches of all time. Granted, it was no Jenna/Sharmell fiasco, but it was pretty damn bad. If you don’t wish to take my word for it, I understand. All the proof lies within the video so feel free to see the ugliness for yourself.
The tag match officially kicked off the wrestling portion of the show tonight, so while everyone sat around and digested the epic and highly personal promo stand-off between Raven and Tommy Dreamer, the Beautiful People began to make their way towards the ring. Velvet Sky and Lacey Von Erich were in rare form tonight, carrying their titles with confidence. Each girl looked great as well. Kudos to LVE for becoming the first ever Beautiful People member with actual ring gear! Velvet was dressed in one of her usual outfits, and it’s not worth describing to be honest. The show cut to commercial as the Beautiful People played to the crowd but upon it’s return, Hamada and Taylor Wilde made their way to the ring. Their entrance was cute, and a bit cheeky. Hamada twirled Taylor around and slapped her on the ass, a la the Beautiful People. Shame Taylor Wilde’s ring gear continues to make my stomach turn. The Beautiful People stood on the outside of the ring as Taylor and Hamada hyped up the crowd. Velvet screamed at them and made reference to the fact that her title wasn’t going anywhere. When the BPs returned to the apron, Lacey hopped into the ring to start the match off against Taylor. The referee held the championships up and the match began.
Taylor coaxed Lacey into turning around so that everyone could admire her new, sparkly outfit. Of course, Lacey fell for it and Taylor immediately rolled her up for a pin. Lacey scrambled out of the before the referee could even get down and count and Taylor flew to the ropes to gain some momentum. Velvet backed up Lacey by cheaply distracting Taylor, who promptly turned around to bitch. Lacey hit her from behind and went for a spinning heel kick but Taylor dropped down and swept her off her feet. Taylor once again went to the ropes, but Lacey was there to catch her. Unfortunately what could have been a gorgeous move was hampered by the fact Lacey struggled to throw Taylor over her head. Oh well. Eventually, Lacey did what she wanted to do, and Taylor rolled over to tag in the rarely seen Hamada.
Congratulations to former WWE and TNA stars Booker T and Sharmell who have welcomed two new arrivals! Sharmell gave birth to twins yesterday, confirms TNA World Heavyweight Champion RVD via his Twitter page. Our best wishes to the happy couple.

Last night’s episode of NXT was a hot mess, and I’m still trying to figure out if that’s a good or bad thing in this case. I knew something interesting was going to happen when the Mediacom digital menu said “the first ever kissing contest is held.” What I didn’t expect was the sheer hotness that was Layla/Kaval, the pure joy of seeing Michael McGillicutty and Percy Watson lose, and the weird, overwhelming urge to make out with Alex Riley take over me. I experienced many emotions last night, as did a lot of you who are going to read this. With a lack of anything else to say in this introduction (because words can’t truly describe how epic NXT was… ) I say we get right on down to business!
NXT kicked off with the introduction of the pros and then the rookies. The rookies all went to the ring where Matt Striker basically addressed the situation from last week and told the rookies that tonight they all had to get on the same page. He told them that their challenge for tonight is a kissing contest and while they looked confused/stunned/shocked, he introduced the sexiest women on television, the self-proclaimed co-Women’s Champions, Laycool! Michelle McCool and Layla slowly stood up and looked at each other, before making their way to the ring. Each woman had her own tube of lipgloss and they both took the time to generously apply a new amount using Michelle’s belt for a mirror. Eventually, Laycool end up in the ring and Striker happily tells them that the show is all theirs.
