Winners & Losers: RAW 09/16/19

Clash of Champions is done and over with, but tonight on RAW all Four Horsewomen were present and ready for the fallout. Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch put on a hell of a match at Clash of Champions that ended in an all-out brawl throughout the Spectrum Center. Lynch would retain her title by disqualification.

On the SmackDown side, Bayley would employ her new heelish ways at the pay-per-view as she would defeat Charlotte Flair in quick fashion with the use of an exposed turnbuckle. Banks and Bayley had the Women’s Tag Team Champions to deal with on tonight’s show, but before we get into that match let us discuss Maria Kanellis.

Maria had her gender reveal party as was advertised before RAW. The reveal wasn’t very climactic as she would simply blurt out that her baby is a boy. After all the partygoers celebrate, Maria would share with her husband Mike on who the true baby’s father is. She says it is one of the people at their party and that is Ricochet. Mike obviously infuriated challenges Ricochet to a match. He loses to Ricochet.

After a commercial break, Maria is one the stage with a mic in hand and she explains that Ricochet is not the father. She did this to get Mike fired up, which he was, but still lost the match. She then says that the real father is Rusev. Rusev comes out and after chasing Mike around the ring defeats him in record time.

Now on to the tag team match that was previously mentioned. Banks and Bayley took on Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross in a non-title match. The tag champs to seemed to be on the offensive at first until Bliss did a front flip off the apron unto her opponents on the outside. She appeared to have tweaked her knee. Bayley would capitalize off of this moments later and throw Bliss into the steel steps.

After the SmackDown Women’s Champion used the steel steps to her advantage, the medical staff would come out and take Bliss backstage. This left Cross on her own against the inaugural Women’s Tag Team Champions. Cross was holding her own as she isolated Banks in the ring apron and would set her sights on Bayley.

After a tornado DDT and then a neck breaker off the top rope, Cross would go for the pin on Bayley. Banks broke up the pin and Cross would attempt for a quick pin on The Boss with an inside cradle. Banks would hit the backstabber then locked in the Bank Statement. Cross taps out.

The aftermath involved Banks going for a chair which has been her weapon of choice since returning. Before she could use it on Cross, the RAW Women’s Champion would rush to the ring with a chair of her own. After the two would use their steel chairs as swords battling each other, Bayley would come in the ring with a chair of her own to back up her best friend.

Charlotte Flair’s music hits and the Queen makes her way down the ramp. Bayley with a chair in hand goes after Flair who is weaponless. The Queen doesn’t need a chair just yet as she applied a big high heel boot to knock down Bayley on the ramp. Once she was knocked down, Flair would hit Bayley with her own chair.

The segment ends with Banks stuck between Flair and Lynch. She would retreat and meet up with Bayley on the ramp.

After a commercial break, Banks is in the locker room. She sends a message to Lynch that she doesn’t care how many chairs she throws her way because The Boss is the “star of the women’s division.” She challenges Lynch to a rematch at Hell in Cell. She says, “that is unless you are man enough to accept. Your move bitch.”

Lynch would then have a backstage segment where she would speak about Banks bringing in the chair at Clash of Champions and she would beat her with it. She responds to Banks’ request for a rematch with, “I’m not interested in facing you at Hell in a Cell, I’m interested in destroying you in Hell in a Cell.”

The match is official. Becky Lynch will defend her RAW Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks in a Hell in a Cell match on Oct. 6.

The women continued to be visible on RAW as Lacey Evans faced Dana Brooke. Evans had been facing Natalya in the past couple weeks with each woman picking up a win. This week she moved onto Brooke which was a breath of fresh air. It was good seeing someone different for a change.

Brooke took to offense fast and had Evans reeling. Evans would hit a leg sweep on her and gain the upper hand. Evans would keep on the offense for the rest of the match and hits a Women’s Right. She would apply Natalya’s Sharpshooter on Brooke to send a message to Natalya. Brooke would tap out.

Winner: Becky Lynch

Lynch looked strong as she had Sasha Banks retreating after using a steel chair against her. Having Charlotte Flair as back-up made her look good as well. The work recently between all Four Horsewomen has been top-notch, but Lynch would get the upper hand tonight. Good focus on the women tonight. It is refreshing to see after a slow summer for the women’s division.

Winner: Nikki Cross

Cross looked great in the tag team match. She carried the match both before and after Alexa Bliss’ knee injury. She has been looking extremely well lately in the ring and her future is bright.

Winner: Dana Brooke

Although she didn’t pick up a win and she was used as an enhancement for Lacey Evans vs. Natalya, she still got in a good bit of offense. Her athleticism is undeniable and she should be a staple on RAW. Maybe she will get drafted to SmackDown next month and get used more? Not saying that many women on SmackDown are used anyway, but the draft may be a hope to use more talent.

Loser: Maria Kanellis

Out of all the women that were on tonight’s show, Maria would be on the losing end. Mainly because this was a bit random as she hasn’t been on tv in weeks, and it is the same old, same old. Her husband is inadequate and the baby’s father is someone else. If this continues and actually gets to somewhere with Rusev being the baby’s “father” then maybe the storyline won’t be so bad. As of now, it is missing something more.

Winners & Losers: SmackDown 09/03/19

Women’s wrestling is getting exciting again in WWE. The crowd’s response between last night and tonight have shown that finally, we are moving in the right direction. Bayley kicks off SmackDown Live this week to explain her actions from the night before on RAW. She assisted Banks in the attack on Becky Lynch with a steel chair and many people want to know why. The SmackDown Women’s Champion simply explains that she was having her best friends back.

Banks has been there for Bayley through it all. Bayley will continue to have her back regardless of the circumstances. She proclaims that her purpose is still to build up the women’s division on SmackDown and to prove the kind of champion she is. She wants the SmackDown Title to be just as prominent as Becky Lynch with the RAW Title.

The result is to give new people a shot at her title such as Liv Morgan, Zelina Vega, or even Ember Moon who had a one time chance at SummerSlam. Bayley intends on doing just that after she takes out Charlotte Flair at Clash of Champions one week from Sunday. Turning her attention to Flair, she calls her the most selfish person to which The Queen makes her entrance.

https://twitter.com/tde_wrestling/status/1169041135924387840?s=20

Flair pretends to be shocked by this accusation. She declares that Bayley is quite perceptive and that she is right. Flair is the Queen of Selfishness. The Boss’ music hits and as she makes her way to the ring, Flair attacks Bayley. The number game is too much for The Queen and both Bayley and Banks take turns hitting her with a steel chair.

The match of the night was the Women’s Tag Team Championships vs. Fire & Desire. SURPRISINGLY! Fire & Desire picked up the win. The match culminated when Bliss was about to put away Sonya Deville.

Bliss plants her with a DDT and heads up to the top turnbuckle to deliver Twisted Bliss. On the outside, Mandy Rose and Cross were fighting causing a distraction to Bliss. That was enough time for Deville to get the knees up when Bliss hit her finisher. Rose is tagged in and the duo hit a team finisher. Rose pins Bliss for the win.

Could they have a title match at Clash of Champions now that they picked up a win on the champions?

Winners: Fire & Desire

Picking up a win against the tag champs was huge for this team. The women’s tag titles are one of the few titles not on the Clash of Champions card yet. The way the tag titles have been booked since inception made it predictable that it wouldn’t be on another pay-per-view. However, since Bliss and Cross have been champs the titles have been very visible.

Fire & Desire had a great showing at Elimination Chamber during the inaugural match. Many people thought they could have walked away as the first champs. Although Bliss and Cross probably won’t lose the titles anytime soon, it would be nice to have an actual feud for the titles for a change. Maybe this is a start?

Loser: Charlotte Flair

Out of the women that were on the show this week, Flair definitely came up on the losing end. The double team from Banks and Bayley left her reeling in the ring. Although Flair could very well become a 10-time champion a week from Sunday, tonight wasn’t her night.

If she were to lose at Clash of Champions it would be nice to see Bayley to actually have matches against those wrestlers she keeps mentioning. Especially Liv Morgan.
