Results & Pictures from RCW Last Night (Alissa Flash vs Mercedes Martinez)

Diva Dirt reader, Brandon, sent in the following report and pictures from last night’s RCW event in San Antonio, which was headlined by Alissa Flash vs Mercedes Martinez for the RCW Championship:

Last night’s RCW show was amazingly good. It had everything you want out of professional wrestling – straight-up pure wrestling and enjoyable segments. All the action was great, but the one thing that stood out to me more about last night’s event was the main reason I went to the show in the first place – Alissa Flash (AKA Cheerleader Melissa) vs. Mercedes Martinez!

When I found out that Mercedes is coming to RCW in my hometown, I was marking out! Like that got me sold to actually going to this event. I felt disappointed not going when Alissa Flash became RCW Champion, the first female to win the company’s top prize, showing that Alissa ain’t one to play around with, female or not. She is, pound for pound, one of the greatest women wrestlers in, not just the US, but in the world. The same can be said for Mercedes Martinez, another pound for pound athlete, and one of the women that put SHIMMER on the map with her fued with Sara Del Rey, along with Melissa’s fued with Mschif. And with these two in the same ring together, mono-on-mono, I know will expect some great stuff between the two. Now, enough praising the two, and let’s get to the action.

Weekend House Show Results: Melina Returns, Bellas on SmackDown

Weekend house show results from this past weekend, including the road return of Melina, below:

Friday, August 27th, 2010
Raw
Gail Kim, Nikki Bella & Brie Bella def. Maryse, Jillian Hall & Rosa Mendes.
The girls were allowed to wear much more revealing bathing suits than they did on Raw a few weeks back. No offense to the ladies, but it was a fairly typical Divas match. I will say this, I had a blast watching this match because it seemed like all six ladies were having fun – even the heels. (Source: TheSteelCage.net)

Saturday, August 28th, 2010
Raw
Melina def. Alicia Fox to retain the Divas Championship.
It was a decent women’s match that went about 10 minutes. (Source: ProWrestling.net)

Report, Pictures & Video from FCW in Fort Myers (August 27th, 2010)

Big FCW post for you… we’ve got a fan report, pictures and video footage from Friday’s FCW live event in Fort Myers. Diva Dirt reader Bobby Lea Burchill sent us the following:

Before the show, I got to meet Christina Crawford, Isis the Amazon and Ricki Vaughn (formerly known as Celeste). All three were very nice and friendly, Christina especially. As reported earlier, Isis asked if it was alright before she took pics with fans, but she was nice about it. Ricki looks really good, and she shared the ring announcing duties for the night, not doing a bad job at all. Christina looks almost identical to Alicia, just with a darker color to her hair.

Onto the show, the Divas match was the third match of the show, and it was announced as a tag match. When Ricki introduced the team of Naomi Night & Aksana, I thought they were gonna run around the ring and slap hands, etc… but they came out in full on heel mode. They scowled at fans, refused to slap hands, and posed as they walked around the ring. Not only that, but Night ditched her braids and had purple bangs. And then out came Liviana and AJ Lee, to new music (no more Trinity theme), who were faces. This had me wondering if they really are being groomed for NXT, because AJ has been changed back to a face for the show, and more boldly, Naomi didn’t have her braids, but changed it to a normal hairstyle for Divas.

Detailed Weekend WSU Results: Mickie vs Martinez, Kong, Alicia and More

Detailed results from WSU’s shows on Friday and Saturday night below, courtesy of the company. A DVD release of both nights’ action, titled ‘When the Tigers Broke Free’, will be available for shipping on August 20th. You can pre-order by clicking here.

The leader of womens wrestling in the United States today, Women Superstars Uncensored (WSU) returned this past weekend and made history once again. This weekend saw the most high profile challenger to date challenge for the WSU World Championship. In addition, WSU icon Alicia won the WSU Spirit Championship from arch-rival Brittney Savage. However, the biggest news of the weekend could be the announcement made by former WSU World Champion Angel Orsini, as Angel Orsini debuted a brand new “All Guts & No Glory” Championship to WSU and immediately defended it against Awesome Kong. It was a wild whirlwind weekend for WSU, and this news update will get you up-to-speed.

On 8/6, as part of a jointly promoted show with our big brother promotion, National Wrestling Superstars (NWS, NWSWrestling.com), NWS promoter Joe Panzarino announced that there would be a special four-corner intergender tag team match. Panzarino called out Danny Demanto, Nicky Oceans, Little Guido & Mikey Pacifica to the ring, where each wrestler would announce their partners. However, this led to a war of words and a pier-6 brawl breaking out between all four men. NWS security had to break this violence up. NWS commissioner Gino Moore ruled that since these men couldn’t hold their rage in long enough to announce their partners, that he would personally announce their partners later on in the evening.

MATCH ONE
WSU Tag Champion Jana w/Cindy Rogers d. Marti Belle w/Tina San Antonio
Jana, a WSU original from day one, and an accomplished singles wrestler in her own right, defeated Marti Belle after her Jana-vice. (Front facelock submission). Marti Belle showed fire against the veteran, but the mean streak of Jana was too much to overcome. While Marti Belle put up a valiant effort in an attempt to make a crack for her Belles Saints tag team in the WSU tag team division, Jana showed why she was championship material.

MATCH TWO
Niya d. Rick Cataldo w/Brittney Savage & Alicia
Yes, you read that right, ALICIA, accomplanied Rick Cataldo to the ring. It was announced by WSU that Angel Orsini, Alicia & Brittney Savage all had major announcements to make on 8/6. Before this match, we found out two of them. Brittney Savage announced that the newest member of the Cosmo Club was Alicia! Alicia confirmed the announcement and begrudgingly made it clear that if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. Savage made sure to let Alicia know that she was the star, and it looked like the former WSU Tag Team Champions were on the same side. However, Alicia had a bigger announcement to make later on in the evening…

House Show Results Round-Up (July 9-11th, 2010): Alicia, Eve Impress

Here is a round-up of the weekend’s house show results. We’ll hopefully be doing this each week from now on.

Raw
July 9th (Peoria, IL): Alicia Fox def. Eve Torres to retain the Divas Championship. “Santino guest ref. There were a few funny spots but nothing much of a match.” (PWInsider)

July 10th (Rockford, IL):: Alicia Fox def. Eve Torres to retain the Divas Championship. “I really enjoyed this match. A good mix of comedy and wrestling. Of course the divas would roll over Santino, who then promply celebrated. One of my favorite moments was Eve holding Alicia up in a delayed scoop slam, and dropping her down on her knee for a gut buster, but then started spanking her. The crowd was way into it more than you’d see on Raw. Alicia hit the axe kick for the win.”

The Hart Dynasty def. The Usos & Tamina. “It was a good, leaning toward great match. The crowd loved Smith’s delayed suplex, while Tyson was just so smooth. I felt the Usos held their own. Tamina, who was dressed more as a valet than a wrestler, didn’t get involved until the end, which was countered by Natalya. Hart Attack for the win.” (PWInsider)

July 11th (Huntington, WV): Alicia Fox def. Eve Torres to retain the Divas Championship. “Fox fakes the ankle injury then connects with the scissor kick.” (Lords of Pain)

Complete Results from Third Annual WSU Uncensored Rumble

WSU held its third annual Uncensored Rumble event this past Saturday in New Jersey headlined by a 22-woman over the top Rumble match with the winner earning a shot at the WSU Championship. Full results below courtesy of WSU Wrestling:

On Saturday, June 26th, WSU presented “The Third Annual Uncensored Rumble” event, featuring the much hyped WSU World Title Prize Fight between WSU World Champion Mercedes Martinez & #1 Contender Alicia. Other big stars competed on this event, and many fans are calling this the best set of WSU DVD tapings yet.

Taping one:
Before the show started, Amy Lee & Mickie Knuckles came out to do a moment of silence for fallen indy wrestler Trent Acid. Acid was well liked in the northeast scene. Afterwards, Amy Lee plugged the efforts of long-time Trent Acid fan, Belinda, who was taking up donations for the Acid Fund.

Daizee Haze d. Cherry Bomb after a tiger suplex in a match where both wrestlers were making their WSU debuts.

WSU Tag Team Title Match
(c) The Cosmo Club (Cindy Rogers & Jana) w/Brittney Savage & Rick Cataldo d. The Fly Girls (Divina Fly & Niya)
The new rookie upstart tag team, The Fly Girls, looked impressive in their debut, showing off their high flying and striking abilities. However Rogers & Jana, two WSU veterans, proved too strong and smart, and Jana caught Niya with her Jana-Vice (Front facelock submission) for the tap out win.

After this match, Rain & Rain’s Army, of Nikki Roxx, Lacey, Jessicka Havok & Amber O’Neal came out. The Cosmo Club & Rain’s Army met each other in the aisle way, but no incident occurred. Rain’s Army hit the ring and the psychotic Rain led a full blown attack on The Fly Girls. Rain destroyed The Fly Girls. Rain then talked about how she should be WSU World Champion and how she should’ve won the World Title match at the Three Year Anniversary show. Rain then promised that she would defeat Kong tonight and that her charges would all win their matches, guaranteeing a clean sweep. Rain then said Jessicka Havok was up first and this led to…

Uncensored Rumble 3 Qualifier Match
The first person eliminated would enter the Uncensored Rumble first, the person who eliminated the final person on the opposing team would get the coveted last spot in the Rumble
Jessicka Havok/Amber/Lexus/Rick Cataldo d. Sassy Stephanie/Tina San Antonio/Marti Belle/Latasha
Rick Cataldo was eliminated within the first minute of the match, which meant he would have to enter the rumble at number 1, the worst spot to enter the rumble at.

The fan favorite team of Stephanie/The Belle’s Saints/Latasha, worked really well together and it looked like they would be sweeping the match. It eventually came down to Jessicka Havok vs the entire team of Stephanie/Belle’s Saints/Latasha. However, Rain’s Army enforcer Jessicka Havok went nuts. The former WSU tag champion, returning to WSU, destroyed the competition with a series of power moves, lastly eliminating Sassy Stephanie after a brutal must-be-seen-to-be -believed sitout powerbomb to win the match. As a result, Havok earned the last spot in the rumble.

However, right after the match, Rain came to the ring with a pay envelope. It was then shown that Rain had just paid off Jessicka Havok for the last spot in the rumble! Rain was at it again. Always the one to think 10 steps ahead, Rain just guaranteed herself the best spot in the rumble, while her enforcer did all the hard work to earn that spot.
