Trish Stratus & Lita reminisce on their monumental RAW main event

Trish Stratus posted on her social media yesterday to take a trip down memory lane with Lita.

Dec. 6 marked 15-years that Stratus and Lita main evented Monday Night RAW one-on-one for the Women’s Championship. These two women revolutionized women’s wrestling and did it by being both foes and allies throughout their tenure.

Stratus wrote that it was fitting that she was spending her time with her bestie during this anniversary. She went on to say:

“Kicking down doors. Breaking glass ceilings. Grabbing the brass ring. We clawed our way into the history books.”

This duo will forever be in the history of WWE as they have taken their rightful place in the Hall of Fame (Stratus 2013, Lita 2014). This historic match had everything it needed to have to be a classic.

Both women pulled out their signature moves that made their careers. Stratus with her Matrix move and Stratusfaction along with Lita’s Twist of Fate and Moonsault topped off an incredible back and forth match.

Stratus’ heel antics were strong throughout such as her removing her protective mask to use as a weapon. And no one will ever forget Lita’s suicide dive that had everyone gasping.

What were some of your best moments of this monumental match? What other matches between these two Hall of Famers are your favorites? Let’s discuss in the comment section.

Six-Pack Challenge for WWF Women’s Championship Survivor Series 11/18/01

It is time for another Free Match Friday!

In a match that features four future WWE Hall of Famers, six women compete for the vacant WWF Women’s Championship. The match involved Lita, Jazz, Ivory, Jacqueline, Trish Stratus, and Mighty Molly. The title was vacated at this time due to Chyna leaving WWF.

Survivor Series is one of the big four pay-per-views of the year and this match is a good one to revisit. The next pay-per-view will be Survivor Series and it will take place on Nov. 24.

The winner of this match would mark her first-ever title win. Click the link above to see who walks away with a victory.

Check back in next week for another Free Match Friday.

WWE lists the best “good women” who have “gone bad”

WWE has decided to put together a Top 10 list of who they think are the best “good women” who have “gone bad.”

This topic was sparked with the recent events of last week where Bayley seemingly turned on Becky Lynch. We witnessed her siding with her best friend Sasha Banks with a steel chair attack on the RAW Women’s Champion. They would continue their attack on SmackDown, but this time Charlotte Flair would be the victim.

Bayley’s full heel turn remains to be seen as she stated that she is the same person but just having her best friends back. Someone who has always been there for her. The reactions to her “turn” have been mixed.

WWE’s list comprises many women from a few different eras. Let’s see what they have picked

  • 10. Lita betrays Kane
  • 9. Aj Lee costs Cena
  • 8. Becky pummels Charlotte
  • 7. Eve low-blows Ryder
  • 6. Trish kisses Christian
  • 5. Ronda says no more
  • 4. Mickie kicks Trish
  • 3. Sasha’s new attitude
  • 2. Nikki knocks out Brie
  • 1.Bayley gone bad

Who would you put on your list? Discuss your thoughts in the comment section!!

Ring The Belle discusses potential Evolution 2 predictions

DS Shin and Paloma Starr of Ring The Belle discuss on their show this week the possibility of Evolution 2 still being talked about.

As the year continues to fly by there is less and less chance that a second annual all women’s pay-per-view is going to happen. For at least this year. It was announced last year in July and took place in October. July has come and gone, but there is still a slight chance it could still happen in October.

WWE has their Hell in the Cell event scheduled for Oct. 6 and then Survivor Series on Nov. 24. In the middle is Crown Jewel on Oct. 31. As we all know, women are not permitted during the Saudi Arabia event so there will be a large seven-week gap between events that the women will not be featured.

From an anonymous source to Tom Colohue via Sportskeeda the following was said about a potential Evolution 2.

“Talks never really ended but they were always brief. Some people were fiercely for it but the logistics didn’t iron out. Things are looking very different now. People higher up are starting to listen.”

DS and Paloma speak on rumors why originally Evolution wouldn’t happen again this year. Many people were saying that big names such as Ronda Rousey and The Bella Twins being out hindered the chance. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch was a fan favorite over Rousey vs. Nikki Bella so that opinion could be argued. Now with Sasha Banks back in the fold and Trish Stratus vs. Charlotte Flair being a hit from SummerSlam, it is turning some heads.

Possibilities for Evolution 2 could be Brie Bella and Lita receiving retirement matches just as Trish just did. The thing with Lita is that the retirement match she had didn’t pan out so well for her. She came out on the losing end against Mickie James. That match took place at Survivor Series and Lita lost her title.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Trish won her original retirement match against Lita where she became a seven-time champion. Of course, both Hall of Famers have had a few matches since those retirement matches but maybe Lita winning her “final” retirement match could make everything come full circle.

DS and Paloma discuss potential opponents for both Brie and Lita. For Brie such names as Ember Moon, Asuka, Liv Morgan, Alicia Fox or even Maryse. For Lita big names such as Becky Lynch and Asuka were discussed.

Would you be interested to see Brie Bella and Lita get retirement matches as Trish had? Do you think what Lita has already done is enough or does she need some retribution to go out on top? Discuss your thoughts in the comment section below.

Lita and Trish Stratus discuss top 5 moments as Team Bestie and retirement

Recently, DS Shin of Ring The Belle got to sit down in an exclusive interview with WWE Women’s Division legends Lita and Trish Stratus to talk about their top five moments as Team Bestie and how they felt about retiring from the business.

Diva Dirt got the jump on the highlights of the interview, where Lita and Stratus commented on Ring The Belle’s Top 5 Team Bestie Moments, “sexy” Diva gimmicks, and retiring from WWE.

The women reflect back to when Lita saved Stratus from taking a dangerous nosedive off a platform, at Invasion 2001.

Trish: “If you guys will continue to watch the clip, you will see that she saved my life.”
Lita: “As we’re backing up giving them ‘what for’.”
Trish: “Yeah, ‘what’s up, we won, that’s right!’ And then woah! But you didn’t see my face. I kept the composure. Like, woah, I almost fell!”
Lita: “I swooped in and saved her life.”
Trish: “And that’s the moment we became besties.”
Lita: “Good that we still have her. We could’ve lost her.”
Trish: “Thank you.”

The legends shared their comments on “sexy” gimmicks Divas had to endure, including rolling around in toxic farm mud.

Ring the Belle: “The Divas division had to often compete in these sexy matches, but you always showed that you are kicking ass, it’s like, all strong and powerful. What was your mindset going into these matches?”
Trish: “For me, personally, was like, make the best out of it. I know when I had a gravy match, I was like, ‘A gravy match, really? Okay, I’ll do this gravy match…if I can be thrown off the top ramp into the bowl of gravy.'”
Lita: “Mud, right? It was like some toxic farm mud.”
Trish: “Actually we found the packaging after, and it wasn’t good. Do not ingest!”
Lita: “Or, ingest a lot of it!”
Trish: “Or wrestle in!”

While watching the top five Team Bestie moments, Lita and Stratus describe the moment Stratus turned against a hostile live crowd for calling Lita a “slut” during a Raw segment in April 2005.

Ring the Belle: “You were doing a segment for a more of a hostile crowd. What was it like going through this together?”
Lita: “We had some telepathy going on.”
Trish: “We went completely off script for this one. We went our own way, and went with the crowd, and tried to wrangle them in. It was interesting.”

Shin asked the Hall of Famers to reflect on their experiences retiring from WWE, including Lita’s struggle with the notion.

Ring the Belle: “You two often talk about how your careers were very Yin and Yang. Your retirements also looked very different from each other’s, too. What’s your thought on that?”
Lita: “I mean, I’ve always been the redheaded stepchild. It was not gonna end any different way. Literally the redheaded stepchild, it’s okay.”
Trish: “Different characters and different storylines going into it. Our’s was focus on our feud and our rivalry.”
Lita: “As a baby face too, and retiring as a heel. I’ve never been, like, quiet about it. I was super uncool with it. I went up the chain. I went to the producers, I went to the writers, I went to Vince. I went back to the producers, back to the writers, back to Vince. It was a hard ‘no’.”

Watch the entire video to see the full list of best Team Bestie moments, as well as see Lita and Trish sing and lip sync to Trish’s WWE Original tune, released in 2004, “I Just Want You”.
