Madison Rayne on Whether Knockouts Division Lost Luster, Mickie in TNA & Kong Going to WWE

TNA Knockouts Champion, Madison Rayne gave an indepth interview to Brian Fritz at Fanhouse touching on a number of topics including whether she felt the Knockouts division had lost its luster, the additions of Mickie James and Tara to the division and her thoughts on Awesome Kong signing with WWE.

Rayne says she never felt the Knockouts experienced a lull, contrary to what many fans and critics felt. She says:

Yeah, there’s been some ups and downs with the changing faces in the division but I never saw what other people did when they said it was lacking and that there was a shortage of talent or whatever it was they were using to describe the time there when we had a couple of people leaving and a couple new people coming in. I’ve always thought that the Knockouts division had a lot of potential and a lot of incredible talent more so now than ever I think. There’s a lot of new faces and a lot of people that the fans are familiar with but haven’t necessarily seen interact with other girls. So, wrestling fans are getting faces and new storylines to follow and new people to see in the ring together. It’s exciting for all of us and I think it’s equally exciting for everyone watching.

Thoughts: In my opinion, the division was lacking for a good while — especially for the first half of 2010. I do think the division has found its feet in recent months with Mickie James and Tara in the forefront. Hopefully things can progress going into 2011. Frankly, I feel Sarita should be in the title picture also.

Impact Write-Up (January 6th, 2011): The Elbow of Tara Strikes Again!

Hello there! Welcome back to the official TNA Impact Write-Up! My name is April and I will be your sponsor this week. Call me should you feel yourself in doubt of your wrestling devotion. I’ll set you straight. Last week, we saw a snappy strap match between Velvet Sky and Sarita that left us all using our imaginations. We also saw Madison Rayne in her Viera Twang dress and accent that left us all doubled over. This week, we’ve got Knockouts action in form of a rather odd pair of teams set to settle the score. Follow along, my darlings!

Out first is the team of Madison Rayne and Sarita. Madison is escorted to the ring by her bodyguard, Tara on her crotch rocket while Sarita dances her way down the ring in a glow in the dark ensemble. I’d even go so far as to say it could be from the Jeff Hardy clothing collection. Not a fan, again. At least Madison got rid of her little beer wench skirt and gold panties, changing it up with a pair of cute matching pants. Note the funny moment here where Sarita does her little salsarita dance and gets huffy when Tara starts dancing with her. Haha. HARDCORE COUNTRY! Out next is Mickie James in her country couture, daisy dukes and plaid tie-off. She is set to team with the lovely Velvet Sky who makes her way out last in black and hot pink. I like the black chaps a lot better than the others. Freelance fashion aside, two somewhat unorthodox tag teams set to face off.

Starting this match out in true bitch manner, Velvet goes straight after Sarita as soon as the bell rings. Sarita tries to come back with a clothesline but Vel Vel ducks and shoves her down, rebounding off the ropes to come back with a low dropkick. Quick to get back on it, Velvet takes Sarita down with a knee smash to the face. A few slaps to the chest and Sarita flings Velvet into the ropes which brings Vel Vel back with a headscissors roll-up. One..two..and no prize pinning combination. Sarita kicks out but Velvet flips her right back over for another attempt. Sarita does her best to come back but one half of the founding Beautiful People is hellbent on taking the latina down. I like Vicious Velvet. I think it suits her.

Impact Write-Up (December 30th, 2010): A Strapping Knock-Off

Oh hello there! Simply can’t resist my charm, can you? Haha. Welcome back to the weekly Diva Dirt Impact Write-Up. Last week, we determined new TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions in Angelina Love and Winter. We also saw a brutal attack on Velvet Sky by Sarita which left us all pretty certain that both of them had used a strap before. It was a touching brawl. Honestly, I was choked up. This week, the beatdowns between Sarita and Velvet Sky continue and Madison Rayne gives us a glimpse into her glamorous side. Hold onto your rhinestones, people! This is going to blow your bedazzled socks off!

Back from a long commercial break, we see Sarita in the hallway talking trash against Velvet Sky. She says how dare Velvet challenge her to a match. She also says she’s got something for her. Sarita shows the gold strap again and snaps it tight. “I am gonna whoop that ass.” Go on wit ya bad self! *snaps*

And it is on to true Knockouts action! Out first, set to compete in a Knockouts Strap Match, is Velvet Sky and damn, she is well equipped. She comes out, mile long strap in hand and she is just punishing the ramp as she makes her way to the ring. Can you blame her? If some crazy bitch beat the hell out of me with a strap, I’d be furious too. Although, I do have to say, it looks like Vel Vel has used that strap before. *whistles* Her opponent, Sarita, comes out next, dressed in her true Mexican colors but it comes off looking more like a late Christmas outfit. Definitely not a fan of this one. Apparently, in this match, the women will be strapped together at the wrists with that long strap keeping them together. In order to win the match, either Sarita or Velvet must restrain their opponent long enough to touch all four top turnbuckles without interruption.

Despite practically begging to get out of the match, Sarita finally gives in and the bell rings. It is on like Donkey Kong! Both women circle one another around the ring, trying to gain leverage but in a blink, Sarita tries to take her end and go home. But Velvet isn’t going to take it. She follows and bunches up her end of the leather, ready to strike. Not one to truly back down, Sarita charges and slams Velvet back into the ring apron, quick to make valid use of that leather strap. Thank you, Ma’am! May I have another? Can I just insert my “Ouch!” here and be done with it? Because that honestly looked like it hurt.

Perfect 10 of 2010: Madison Rayne (#2)

It’s that time of year once again: the Perfect 10 is back to count down the top 10 Divas and Knockouts of 2010. Based on their year’s successes, we’ve compiled (as best we can) the ten Divas and Knockouts we feel gave us a 2010 to remember in WWE and TNA. Check back over the next five days to see the countdown unfold, with the #1 being revealed on New Year’s Eve (Friday).

#2: MADISON RAYNE
LAST YEAR: — 2008: —
Much like Layla’s rise in the Divas division, 2010 was the year of the Rayne in TNA. After Angelina Love’s release in September 2009, Rayne found herself becoming the leader of The Beautiful People going into 2010, despite Velvet Sky being one of the group’s founding members. Finding her feet in TNA, Rayne has gone onto become a three-time Knockouts Champion within the span of 12 months and pretty much the queen bee in the company.

Rayne’s ascension to Knockout glory began in January when Angelina Love returned to TNA, turning babyface and feuding with Rayne and her Beautiful cohorts. Rayne led her group to victory in March as she, Velvet and Lacey won the Knockouts Tag Team Championships. Not content with just that, Rayne pinned Tara in a ‘Winner Take All’ tag team cage match in April, becoming the Knockouts Champion effectively allowing The Beautiful People to hold all the Knockouts gold. Rayne made history as the first Knockout to hold both belts simultaneously.

Impact Write-Up (December 23rd, 2010): Walking in a Winter Weirdo-Land

Back for the TNA Impact Weekly Wailing, I see. I knew you would return. That’s right, folks! It is time for yet another edition for the Diva Dirt TNA Impact Write-Up brought to you by yours truly.  Last week, we saw two Knockouts handcuffed together and a fairly new Knockout make her official in-ring debut. This week, we head into the final round of the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Title tournament to find out who will finally take home those nice shiny objects of obsession. So take a little ride with me on the TNA fast track. I might even let you be the caboose!

Our first sight of the lovely TNA Knockouts comes from the trailer (literally) of the Knockouts Champion, Madison Rayne and her tag team parter, Tara. They’re caught on camera, primping and prepping for their tag match later in the evening against The Beautiful People. Madison says they might be going into the match with one body but those two share one brain. Tara reminds her that her elbow brace is tough as nails but she also wants to make sure it doesn’t make her look…fat?! How on earth can an elbow brace make you look fat? I shake my head. Tara wants to make it quick so she can skip off to her party with Gen Me. They giggle, gaggle and go back to the art of applying lipgloss.

We see the back of, who we later find out is Sarita, with a gold strap behind her back. She enters the locker room of Velvet Sky and after a sneer, closes the door behind her. As shown after the commercial, during the break, Sarita proceeded to beat the living hell out of poor Vel Vel. She slashes her back with that leather weapon of choice, prompting Velvet to tag Sarita as a “crazy bitch”. Like we didn’t already know? This quickly goes into a rabid choke and after a moment, the Loco Latina sends Velvet careening out into the hallway.

Sarita once again taunts Velvet about not being able to face her one on one. At this particular point, I find myself wondering, why in the hell are these two still feuding?! Okay. I know this is probably going to link back to not wanting to see feuds but it is BORING. It’s like a very violent edition of Mean Girls minus Lindsay Lohan and her cocaine addiction.

Impact Write-Up (December 16th, 2010): Now That’s a ‘Knockout’ Victory…

It is that time once again, folks. Time to dive back into a total recall of full throttle action by TNA’s Knockouts. Last week, we saw an epic cage match between Mickie James and Tara, The Beautiful People advanced in the newly announced Knockouts Tag Team Title tournament and our resident Scream Queen, Daffney returned to the Impact Zone. This week, the tournament continues. Who will go on to face Angelina Love and Velvet Sky for the gold? I know you are all chomping at the bit to find out what happened this week so onward we go!

Our first, earth shattering glimpse of TNA beauty comes in the form of Cookie this week. She escorts her slick haired guido, Robbie E. to the ring in an X-Division Title rematch against Jay Lethal. I am still not sure about these two. I have never been a fan of the Jersey Shore and everytime I see them, I feel like I am being forced to watch bad MTV reruns. Nonetheless, Cookie is sporting all black with the purple streaks. Love a curvy woman being on the roster but that outfit was not flattering, Cooks.

The match starts off quick, as does Cookie’s interference in the match-up. She easily flattens Lethal with an ankle grab, sending him to the mat. This prompts the flaming firecrotch, Christy Hemme to charge the ring, wasting little time taking the Guidette to the ground. Christy, barefoot and dressed like she stepped out of a Knockouts Christmas card, whips out a silver set of handcuffs. Yes, this is definitely a Jersey Shore rerun. With a little effort, Christy manages to cuff herself to Cookie, who is not happy at all. Ladies and Gents, I do believe we have a ‘Situation’ on our hands.

TNA Final Resolution in Review: Falls Count Anywhere, Even in the Loo

If you consider the fact that the rivalry between Mickie James and Tara has roots in their time in the WWE, this feud has been going on for a long time. In between these phantom WWE issues and now, there have been countless brawls and a match that ended in a double DQ. It’s inevitable that Mickie will eventually move on to challenge Madison Rayne for the Knockouts Championship, but is tonight really the last stop on the runaway freight train that has been Mickie vs. Tara? Yes, I know runaway trains don’t stop–don’t let that ruin my metaphor. Let’s just watch the events unfold and see if these Knockouts are really ready to move on:

We start with Knockouts champ Madison Rayne being interviewed by Christy Hemme. Madison says there’s no way Mickie’s getting to her or her championship, because she has to get through Tara first, an that’s not going to happen. I can appreciate that they’re not trying to hide the direction in which this feud is headed. Also, is it just me (I mentioned this on Twitter), or does Madison’s dark hair make her resemble Mickie a bit? Do I smell a “long lost sister” Maury-esque twist coming up in this storyline? No? Just me? Anywho, she continues to play up Tara, saying that she’s here to “protect the princess”. Is Madison right–will Tara really protect her, or will she simply be paved into Mickie’s road to Madison?

We’re shown a video package chronicling this feud. Lots of upturned tables and uncomfortable fighting attire. With all the brawling and disqualifications that have come from this feud, this Falls Count Anywhere stipulation really is the best fit. Tara’s out first on her hog, and Mickie follows. Tara exits the ring, gets Mickie to follow, and the match starts on the outside. They trade blows, and Tara tries to climb over the barricade, but gets crotched on it. Whether you’re a lady or a gent, that does not feel good. Mickie goes for the first pin attempt of the match, but Tara kicks out. Mickie continues to beat on Tara, alternating between face smashes on the barricade and face smashes on the ring apron. She tosses Tara back into the ring, climbs the turnbuckle, and takes down Tara with a flying dropkick. She goes for another pin, but Tara wraps her legs around the ropes and forces a rope break.

TNA Final Resolution 2010: Madison and Tara ‘Extinguish’ Mickie

Final Resolution didn’t see any resolution to the Mickie James vs Tara feud. After brawling through the entire Impact Zone in a Falls Count Anywhere match, this bout ended in the unlikeliest of places: the men’s bathroom. Knockouts Champion, Madison Rayne was found hiding in one of the stalls armed with a fire extinguisher which … Read more

Impact Write-Up (December 2nd, 2010): Kick Your Ass Back to its Roots!

Mr Glamazon wasn’t the only one serenading women’s wrestling fans this week. Oh no! Not to be outdone by our favourite Glamafan, Mickie James performed her entrance song, ‘Hardcore Country’ live (*cough*) for the crowd at the Impact Zone! But with a big Falls Count Anywhere match against rival Tara this Sunday, it should be of no surprise that the Vicious Vixen was close by…

Mickie’s performance was interrupted first by Eric Young in chaps, following an earlier segment in which he wanted to be part of Mickie’s band. However, while this interruption was more comedic, it was the second interruption that really put a dampener on things. Mid-song, Tara crashes the party (or saves us?) by clocking Mickie from behind and a brawl ensues! Tara smashes Mickie face-first into a speaker before Eric Young intervenes. Tara strikes him across the back with his own cow-bell. Womp womp, Eric. The two Knockouts exchange blows as Mickie tries her hardest to keep her dress from falling apart. (If you know you’re taping a brawl — why would you go strapless?) The ladies crash into the drums and begin catfighting as security pulls them apart. That concludes this opening segment, but the night is just getting started…

Impact Write-Up (November 25, 2010): It’s a Thanksgiving Miracle! Sarita Stuns the Champ

Last night’s Impact had a smorgasboard of Knockouts all over the place! Apparently the holiday spirit hadn’t infected these ladies just yet as they were all set on beating the hell outta each other. Which made for some great television! Find out what happened below…

Backstage, we see Angelina Love and Velvet Sky chattering by a food table, discussing their individual action figures, which are in their hands. Ric Flair walks up, inviting them both to Fortune/Immortal’s Thanksgiving party. He promised the guys he’d bring back candy (I’d be pulling out the mace at that point…) and Angelina grins, saying, “Eye candy?” They seem to be interested, when Mickie James walks up, wanting to speak to Angelina. She extends a hand, thanking the blonde for a great match last week. Velvet interrupts, putting her hands over Angelina’s ears, singing. Mickie gives her a look, “What are you, 12?” In response, Angelina holds up her action figure, extends the tiny hand, and says, “Talk to the hand.”

Knockouts Announced for TNA’s UK Tour

Four Knockouts have been announced thus far for TNA’s UK tour next January. Topping the bill for the ‘Maximum Impact’ tour will be multi-time WWE Women’s Champion, Mickie James, who along with Tara, make their return to the UK for the first time as TNA superstars. They previously toured Europe with WWE. Knockouts Champion, Madison … Read more

TNA Turning Point in Review: Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, I Wanna Start a Fight!

Billed as a match that had it’s roots in the company they both formerly worked for, last night saw a grudge match between Tara and Mickie James.. At first, it felt like Mickie would simply have to go through Tara to get a shot at the Knockouts Championship, but this feud has taken on a life of it’s own. Each woman is eager to get their hands on the other. So who would come out victorious?

Prior to the match, backstage we see Christy Hemme with Mickie James. It’s a short promo but MJ gets straight to the point. She admits there might’ve been mutual dislike between the two in the WWE, but no matter what, she says that Tara “will respect me.” There’s a gleam in her eyes as she glares at the camera before stalking off.

JB announces Tara being accompanied to the ring by Madison Rayne, but as Tara rides out on her bike, she’s going solo. (JB must’ve had a tad bit of the hair o’ the dog…) She’s sporting boots, fishnets, and a ripped t-shirt and frankly I’m hard pressed to make sense out of this outfit. It looks trashy to be honest. However, I adore the red streaks in her hair so I’ll overlook the outfit. Next out is Mickie James and I vastly prefer her new gear over the cut off shorts and tied shirt. Her outfit tonight is a blue top like she used to wear in the WWE, plus pants that have cowboy chaps on them. She should’ve taken the chaps off, but on the whole it’s a big improvement.

Impact Write-Up (October 28, 2010): It’s a Knockout Brawl For All

Tensions are building between Mickie James, Tara and Madison Rayne. With such a violatile mix, what can we expect on Impact tonight?

Apparently we’re kicking the show off with a fight backstage! It’s Tara and Mickie James going at it in catering (with no food…), beating each other with garbage, empty pans, a beverage keg and anything else they can get their hands on. There’s a few people looking on in the background, one of them actually appearing to be laughing. (Corpsing? Send for the man!) Maybe they should be getting acting lessons from Dixie Carter if they’re going to be on screen.

They wind up in the ring eventually, with Madison Rayne, Sarita, Velvet Sky and Angelina Love getting involved along the way. Flair comes out with security and separates them (not very well however) and stipulates that later we’ll see The Beautiful People and Mickie James vs. Madison, Tara and Sarita. He keeps calling Mickie “nutjob” along the way. Ric Flair has finally lost it.

Thoughts: Not a bad way to start the show, featuring most of the Knockouts division. It’s nice to see Sarita getting involved as she’s one of their best workers, as anyone who’s seen her work outside of TNA can attest to. If they can continue to keep this level of passion in this feud, it’ll put the Knockouts back on top as a big ratings draw for TNA. Me? I’m not going to put all my eggs in this basket just yet.

Trick or Treat! Going Halloween Costume Shopping: Knockouts Edition

For the past two years around Halloween, (view 2008 and part 1, part 2, and part 3 of 2009) we’ve suggested some tongue-in-cheek costumes for Divas and Knockouts. This year, we continue the tradition. We started with the NXT Rookies, and next up are the Knockouts. The Divas will follow later this week, leading up to Halloween. Enjoy, and be sure to vote for your favorite below!

Cookie
Costume: A scientist.
Why?: She hasn’t been around long, but it’s safe to say that Cookie, in emulating “The Jersey Shore”‘s Snooki, won’t be making any medical breakthroughs in the near future. So, to best lampoon her lampooning of the shallow, less-than-genius, party animal, why not dress up as a scientist? Wearing the typical white labcoat and gloves while spouting different stereotypical “smart” phrases (E=MC^2 anyone?) in a New Jersey accent would make it pitch perfect.
Get the look: Go for a mad scientist look or tone it down to look more like the real deal.

Daffney
Costume: The Cheshire Cat from “Alice in Wonderland”.
Why?: Daffney’s definitely got a soft spot for the quirky, and Alice in Wonderland seems to fit in that spot nicely. Hell, she even dressed as a version of the Queen of Hearts in a Halloween-themed photoshoot on TNA’s website. The Cheshire Cat is easily one of the most iconic characters to come out of the iconic work, and if Daffney wants to up her quirky-ness, dressing as a shape-shifting and disappearing cat is certainly a step in that direction. To keep herself from looking like an extra in the stage show “Cats”, Daffney could act in the lazy, dreamy way the purple-and-pink cat’s known for instead of simply hissing and crawling around. Of course, the disappearing act could be a complication, though if any Knockout could pull off something so strange, it’d be Daffney.
Get the look: Put a costume together and watch the animated movie to get the act down pat.

Tara & Madison Rayne
Costume: Pinky and the Brain from the “Animaniacs” cartoon.
Why?: Former friends Angelina Love and Velvet Sky have recently dubbed the duo of Tara and Madison “Pinky and the Brain”. How about turning that insult into a fully realized costume? The fact that Madison was called “evil” in connection to that comparison leads us to believe that she would be Brain, the short, surly, evil rat who plots every single day to take over the world. His sidekick (or rather, cage-mate) Pinky is a taller, dimmer, sillier rat who goes along for the ride and usually screws us Brain’s plans. Tara is known for her silly costumes, and this would fall right in line with them. It’s far too easy to picture Tara putting on the voice and stumbling around like Pinky, isn’t it? Are you thinking what I’m thinking?
Get the look: Find a partner to pair up with, put on some rat ears, don a tail, wear all-over white clothing, and assume the attitude of your chosen rat–Pinky’s loveable but dumb, and Brain’s serious and conniving.

Read on to see more costume suggestions.

Impact Write-Up (October 14, 2010): Title, Title, Who’s Got the Title? + JWoww Does TNA

(The alternative title was “The REAL Jersey’s in the house BITCH!” but I had second thoughts about that.) Four days ago, we saw Tara crowned as the new Knockouts Champion. Madison Rayne made it very clear she was not happy about this development. Tonight will see the fallout from the match as well as someone from the real Jersey Shore invade Impact looking for the impostor. Lets get down to business, shall we?

Some unfamilar music hits and out comes Madison Rayne wearing black pants with her name splashed on the side and a hot mess of a top. Yikes. She has a referee in tow, and as she climbs into the ring with him, we get a short recap of what happened at Bound for Glory. Madison grabs a mic and goes off about how, on the biggest night in professional wrestling, her plan to become three-time Knockouts Champion went awry. She wants Tara, the person who owes her job in TNA to Madison herself, to come to the ring for a title match right NOW.

“Broken” heralds the entrance of Tara to the Impact Zone. She looks conflicted as she walks to the ring, title belt fitted around her waist. As soon as she gets into the ring, Madison reminds her that it’s because of Rayne that she was back in TNA, that she was able to wrestle, and that she was in the match on Sunday. “ME, ME, ME!” (I know another Madison who’s laid claim to ‘ME’, pretty sure that’s gimmick infringment Ms. Rayne..!) The brunette urges Tara to do the right thing, so very reluctantly, Tara takes off her belt and hands it to the referee. After holding it up, he gives it to the ring assistant, and calls for the bell. Madison again tells Tara to “do the right thing” …and with a good deal of hesitation, Tara lays down. Madison, quite enthusiastically, pins her.

TNA Bound for Glory in Review: Tara Takes it All

At Bound for Glory, Knockout fans would see the culmination of the feud that has been building for the past few weeks. The insertion of the newest Knockout, Mickie James, as the special referee was a wild card added on just last Thursday. Would the match really be more of a tag team effort (as the Beautiful People have led us to believe), or will fragile alliances break under the pressure (how deep is Tara’s loyalty to Madison really?) as the Knockouts Championship is on the line? And where would Mickie fall in all of this? Lets find out…

We open with Christy Hemme backstage with Madison Rayne and Tara. Madison proceeds to shred Christy verbally, unloading on the poor redhead her frustrations and fury. The promo is actually pretty hilarious and well done, with Tara providing the straight face in the background. Words can’t do it justice, you should have a listen for yourself. I’m loving Madison on the mic!

Once the interview is done, we see a video package detailing how this feud came to be, with several of the past interviews from each woman spliced in. Also included is how Miss Tessmacher came to be the Knockouts Division supervisor – something she has done a particularly good job at so far. The “Tale of the Tape” brings us up to speed before we fade back into the arena.

“HARDCORE COUNTRY!” blares over the speakers (I’m sorry, I can’t take that music seriously…how cheesy can you get?) and out skips Mickie James, who gets a loud welcome from the crowd. She looks fantastic in her referee shirt, hair done up properly. She feels genuinely enthusiastic to be there. After her entrance into the ring, new music plays and out come Madison Rayne and Tara, guiding the motorbike down the ramp instead of coming through the crowd. Very nice bike!

Tara Wins Knockouts Title At Bound For Glory

Moments ago at Bound For Glory, Tara earned her fourth TNA Knockouts Championship after pinning Velvet Sky in a Four-Way Dance match that also included former Knockouts Champions, Madison Rayne and Angelina Love. Post-match Madison and Tara got into an altercation, which led to special guest referee Mickie James, laying Madison Rayne out, sending a … Read more

PPV Predictions: TNA Bound for Glory 2010

TNA presents its biggest pay per view of the year tonight — Bound for Glory, featuring a fatal four-way for the Knockouts Championship. Who will come out on top? The Diva Dirt team weigh in…

Cryssi: You know, logic dictates that TNA will crown a new champion at this pay-per-view but who will that champion be? Angelina is the quote-unquote “golden girl” of the company and it would be fitting that she keeps the championship and goes on to feud with Mickie James over the next month. However, on TNA Reaction, Mickie spoke about the championship and apparently she’s under the assumption that Madison is the champion. It would not shock me to see TNA give Madison the title back just to make Mickie look like less of an idiot. In reality there is no way to fix her blunder, but TNA will think they can and give it back to Madison. Then there’s Tara. She’s the TNA queen of pointless, transitional title reigns so giving the belt to Tara not only gives some drama to the relationship of Madison/Tara but it gives Mickie a familiar, comfortable person to feud with in what’s sure to be her first TNA storyline. All these scenarios make sense, right? There’s holes in all of them but that doesn’t matter. Even the most virgin wrestling fan could handle all of those. So what will happen at Bound For Glory? Velvet Sky will win of course. And that will make this Alabama beauty a very happy camper. GO VEL VEL! It’s your time and you deserve it.

Eric: I am tempted to simply write “Who Cares” and move on. This is a result of the poor promotion and buzz that this match has been able to generate in the Internet wrestling community. On paper, this feud looks amazing. Will Vel Vel face off against Angelina? Will Tara give Madison the Widow’s Peak? These are the questions that usually get fans buzzing about such matches. However, as Mickie James’ abortion of a promo showed us, TNA has no interest in making this match anything other than Madison vs. Angelina. As Mickie was randomly telling Madison that she was coming after the belt (didn’t she see Angelina with the strap? Does she need contacts?) Velvet and Tara made gestures that their friend and tag partner would be the one walking away with the strap.

These two gestures proved to me that this match would be ridiculous and pointless. Whereas WWE’s Fatal 4-Way a few months ago had an air of mystery, this match has none. Despite this match holding the opportunity for Velvet Sky to accomplish the biggest achievement of her career, she would rather help Angelina keep the belt.

I expect this match to be a less than ten minute affair. Given that Mickie is insistent on Madison being Knockout champion, my guess is Madison steals the win (wouldn’t it be awkward if Angelina won and Mickie still thought Madison was champion?). Think about the way Alicia won the title at Fatal 4-Way. Velvet and Tara will mostly exist to take the beating from Madison and Angelina respectively and have little impact in this match. As soon as Madison wins, expect Mickie James to lay her out with the Mickie DDT. Expect me to roll my eyes.

Impact Write-Up (October 7, 2010): Guess Who’s Back!

It was a very special TNA Impact last night: only days before Bound for Glory, TNA went live and promised us a spectacular show. Did it live up to the hype? There’s tons to talk about, so lets get right to it!

After a painful segment between Abyss, Dixie Carter, Eric Bischoff and various other male talents, we switch to an outside area where a car has just pulled up. Who exits but the country singer/wrestler Mickie James! The cameraman asks what she’s doing here. James is coy, saying only that we’ll have to watch and see. She looks good, rocking the beads threaded into her hair. Taz exclaims, “Mike, that WAS Mickie James!” Well no shit, Sherlock. We get an announcement from our fearless commentators that up next is the tag team match between Tara and the Madison Rayne vs. Angelina Love and Velvet Sky that will determine who owns the rights to “The Beautiful People” name and music. Should be interesting to see if any tensions regarding the upcoming pay-per-view match manifest in this one tonight…

Impact Write-Up (September 30, 2010): The Stage is Set

This week on TNA Impact, we are ten days away from Bound for Glory and have yet to hear a Knockouts match announced. All that changed tonight, with a meeting that Miss Tessmacher set up. On one side of the table you have Madison Rayne and Tara. On the other, you have Velvet Sky, Angelina Love and Lacey Von Erich. Can Miss Tessmacher keep the peace or will we see a table getting flipped, along with accusations of “PROSITITUION WHORE?” Find out below…

It appears as if the cameraman is being a peeping Tom, using jerky camera angles and ducking in and out of the doorway. The first face we see is Madison, who’s asking Miss Tessmacher who exactly is “on their way?” Bischoff’s assistant never reveals who else is coming to the meeting, but it should be obvious. Tessmacher informs both Rayne and Tara that they need to be on their best behavior since Bischoff has given her the power to fire all of them. The threats don’t sit too well with either woman, but it isn’t long until a door opens and in comes Lacey Von Erich, Velvet Sky and Angelina Love. Cue cries of, “What’re you doing here?!?” (apparently the latter three women were clueless as well – doesn’t TNA send out memos about staff meetings? Sheesh!) and Lacey throwing something at Madison, screaming, “You stupid bitch!” Go Lacey!

TNA Xplosion Watch (September 15, 2010): An All Knockouts Affair!

Didn’t get enough Knockouts action on this week’s TNA Impact? Not worry, Xplosion is here and the women have (virtually) taken hold of this show! We have two matches on tap, the first between Sarita and everyone’s favorite psycho Daffney. The second is between former Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne going toe to toe with current champion Angelina Love. Plus we have promos from the women involved in each match. Let’s get right to it, shall we?

After introductions from Taz and JB, we see Christy in the back with Angelina. The champ proceeds to tear Madison a new one verbally, speaking on what real wrestlers do, which is wrestle – not run. Personally I can’t do the promo justice, Angelina comes across as uber pissed and ready to get her hands on Rayne again.

Next is an interview with Dixie Carter, and since she’s not a Knockout, I’m skipping over it. At 8:05, we see Christy with a returning Sarita, who’s sporting a yellow and red attire. Interesting colours. Sarita basically tells Daffney to bring the crazy because she’s feeling better than ever. Shorter than Angelina’s but to the point.

Impact Write-Up (September 16, 2010): The Lines are Drawn

Greetings and salutations everyone! With Cryssi taking over the SmackDown Redux, I’ll be taking on writing up Impact. I’m excited about this, but I also hope I can do as good a job as she has done. Let’s get right down to it, shall we?

This week, we have TNA Knockout Tag Team Champions Taylor Wilde and Hamada facing off against Madison Rayne and the newly-returned to TV Lacey von Erich. It would be a major upset if Madison & Lacey were to overcome this formidable team. Can they work together to regain the gold? Or will Hamaylor keep those shiny belts around their waists? Find out below.

Before the match, we go backstage to see Lacey, Madison and Tara in their lockeroom. Lacey is clad in a towel yet again… perhaps it’ll be her new ring attire? Madison gushes about how great it is to see Lacey, and springs the news on her that they have a tag title match “like five minutes ago!” Lacey looks confused and she mentions that she hasn’t made her decision yet. At this, Madison’s temper flares. She screeches about how it wasn’t her that laid her out a few weeks ago and that there is no decision to make. Together, her and Tara bully Lacey into submission, ordering her to get dressed before leaving in a huff. Poor Lacey looks unhappy but there seems to be little she can do but comply.

The Beautiful People’s music hits and out come Tara and Madison on the motorbike, Lacey trailing behind. Without waiting for either of the two, Lacey bounces into the ring, which causes Madison to look slightly irritated. She shrugs it off and whilst Tara climbs into the ring, Madison climbs up onto the apron. Tara nudges Lacey out of the way so she can perch on the bottom rope and lean over, giving Madison’s ass a smack. Which is followed by a quick kiss. Tara goes to give Lacey a kiss as well but the blonde wants a handshake instead. I admit, I laughed! Taylor’s music hits and out come Taylor and Ayako, the latter of which has her belt hung around her neck. After posing on one knee, Hamada takes Taylor’s hand, spins her and gives her a smack on the behind! Cheeky Ayako! The two make their way to the ring and after posing for a moment or two, the match gets underway with Taylor and Lacey starting it off.
