On June 14, we have Katarina Waters. Some may know her by other names such as, Nikita, Katie Lea Burchill, The Temptress, and Winter. The British talent came out in 2019 on National Coming Out Day as pansexual, polyamorous, and a relationship anarchist.
Waters had a near 20 year career in the ring as she retired in 2019. She wrestled on the indies, Frontier Wrestling Alliance (FWA), OVW, WWE, TNA, and WOW. Prior to joining WWE, she became a two-time OVW Women’s Champion. In WWE she was known as Katie Lea Burchill and would pursue the WWE Women’s Title in 2008 against Mickie James. She would form a tag team with Jillian Hall afterwards.
After her release from WWE in 2010, Waters would join TNA under the name Winter. There, she became a two-time TNA Knockouts Champion and a one time tag team champion. Much like her time in WWE, Waters feuded with Mickie James for the Knockouts Title. Winning it twice from her.
She wrapped up her career in WOW under the name The Tigress. She’s won many titles on the indie scene.
We celebrate Waters for coming out and living her truth.
