Mandy Rose’s Reported Earnings From FanTime Since WWE Release

0

It has been nearly one week since the shocking release of former NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose. Rose, who held the gold for an impressive 413 days, dropped the title to new champion Roxanne Perez on the Dec. 13 episode of NXT. By the next day, it was confirmed that Rose and WWE have parted ways.

Rose was reportedly released due to the content that she had been posting on her FanTime website. Since her release, she has made a statement thanking fans for their support and has reiterated that the site is still up. In fact, she raised the subscription from $25 to $40.

Now, according to Rose’s agent Malki Kawa, they told TMZ Sports that Rose has earned $500,000 from her FanTime page since she was released on Dec. 14. Kawa says that Rose will be a “self-made millionaire” by Christmas.

Sol Ruca Comments On The Response She Has Received From Her Finisher

0

Sol Ruca is very new to the game but as of the Dec. 9 episode of NXT Level Up, she is getting a lot of attention already. Ruca comes from a gymnast background.

She took on Valentina Feroz and came out with a second singles victory since entering a WWE ring. What caught the attention of fans on social media was her finisher which she has called the Sol Snatcher.

Speaking with Fox News, Ruca responded to the attention that her finisher has received so far which even caught the interest of WWE’s CCO Triple H. You can see his caption and Ruca’s finisher in the Tweet below.

“When I saw that I literally didn’t even know what to do,” Ruca said. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, do I reply to him? Do I quote tweet?’ Like, I was freaking out. It’s like insane. Especially it being on Level Up, which is like the development of NXT. It was crazy. I did not expect it to go viral. I was shocked.”

She continues, “I really want to kind of set a bar for the women’s division,” Ruca said. “I kind of want to bring a different style and different level of competitiveness. Same with like Katana Chance. She is so different from everyone else, like her moves is so different. And I think that there needs to be more women out there in the women’s division that can do those sort of moves and stuff like that. And I want to be a part of that.”

Ruca hasn’t even been on the roster for a full year as her tryout was in March. She speaks further about that process and what led her to go to the tryout. She also states she wasn’t the biggest fan of wrestling but did know the bigger stars.

“I babysat these kids who were like huge fans. They would try and bodyslam each other all the time and they had all the rings, all the action figures. I obviously knew who all the biggest stars were but that was kind of the extent of what I knew. As soon as I got the tryout, I liked Google searched a bunch of stuff and I watched some of like the highlight reels from previous tryouts just to know what I was getting myself into.

“And, I actually have a video that my boyfriend has of me where I’m in the kitchen and I learned how to get up like the wrestling way and I like showed him because that’s one of the things you do on the first day is learn how to get up. And I knew how to do the rolls with my gymnastics background. I didn’t have to worry about the rolls so much but those little things that are so big in wrestling, I kind of wanted to at least know what I was getting myself into before showing up.”

She continues later in the interview, “But now that I’m here, I’m slowly but surely finding that love for it. I just think that everything that I’ve been through and all the sports that I’ve done, and even social media entertainment aspects, has led me to this. I wish I would’ve been involved in WWE before, at least been a bigger fan. But now that I’m here, I’m like, this is exactly what I should be doing.”

Ruca holds singles victories now over Feroz and Amari Miller. She faced the newest recruit Dani Palmer on a taped episode that has yet to air. Check back in with Diva Dirt for more news and results on the women of NXT.

Raw Women’s Title Match Set For Jan. 2; Bayley Victorious Over Lynch

0

The Raw Women’s Championship will be on the line to kick off 2023 as Alexa Bliss will be challenging the champion, Bianca Belair, on the first Raw of the new year.

Bliss won a number one contenders match after first winning a Triple Threat and then a match against Bayley. After defeating Bayley last week, Bliss continued to hint the turn back to her evil side as she put Belair into a Sister Abigail but didn’t execute it.

As a response, Belair sat down with Bliss this week for an interview with Byron Saxton. Belair told Bliss she doesn’t trust her as Bliss explained how she has been lately. Bliss talks about the therapy she had earlier in the year which turned her into a shell of a human being she doesn’t recognize. Teaming up for months with Belair and Asuka has made her realize she is stronger than she thinks. If she has nothing to lose then she has everything to gain which includes the Raw Women’s Championship.

Belair had the right to be concerned as Bliss attacked her at the end of the interview with a flower vase to the head.

To start Raw, The O.C. (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows) with Mia Yim, Akira Tozawa, and AJ Styles at ringside took on The Judgment Day (Damian Priest & Finn Balor) with Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio. After the fall of that match, Ripley and Tozawa had an encounter on the ramp which led to an intergender match. Ripley would go on to defeat Tozawa after a dominating performance. The end of the match had Tozawa miss a Senton which allowed Ripley to hit Riptide and pin him for the victory.

The big women’s match of the night had Bayley taking on Becky Lynch. This would be the first singles match between the two women in four years since 2018. In a very competitive back-and-forth match with multiple falls, Bayley would steal the victory.

Right after Lynch gets a near fall with Diamond Dust, Damage CTRL attempts to interfere and help Bayley. The referee tries to eject the tag team champions but Dakota Kai rolls into the ring. This distraction to the referee allowed Bayley to hit Lynch with the monitor from the commentary desk. Bayley hits Rose Plant to get the pin.

Next week’s Raw will be a recap episode of the best moments of 2022.

Spoilers: SmackDown Tapings For Dec. 23

*Please note that this article contains spoilers for the Dec. 23 episode of SmackDown.*

WWE taped a second episode of SmackDown on Dec. 16 due to the holiday season. That episode will air at its normal time on Dec. 23. During this taped episode a new number one contender was determined for Ronda Rousey’s SmackDown Women’s Championship.

This was determined in a Gauntlet match which included six women. Those in the match were – Liv Morgan, Sonya Deville, Emma, Tegan Nox, Xia Li, and Raquel Rodriguez. Shayna Baszler ended up being a surprise entrant.

Rodriguez won the match making her the new number one contender. The order of the match had Xia Li pin Emma followed by Tegan Nox. Rodriguez then pinned Li, Liv Morgan, and lastly Sonya Deville. However, Baszler was a surprise entrant that Rodriguez would defeat in the end.

There is no confirmation on when Rodriguez will get her match agains Rousey.

Xia Li Assists Damage CTRL To Retain The Women’s Tag Team Titles

On the Dec. 16 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Damage CTRL successfully retained their Women’s Tag Team Championships after defeating Liv Morgan and Tegan Nox. However, they did have some help, and not just from Bayley.

The match opened the show and the two teams put on a solid match but it reached its conclusion after Nox had a moment with Bayley at the time keeper area. Nox dumped Bayley over the barricade in order to remove her from the situation when a woman in a hoodie kicked Nox. The assailant would be dragged to the back by security immediately after the attack.

This allowed IYO SKY to get Nox back in the ring, deliver a moonsault, and pin her to retain the tag titles for Damage CTRL.

A little later during the show, a WWE Exclusive appeared on WWE’s social media. It would show the hooded assailant being brought to the back as Adam Pearce would reveal who it was that attacked Nox. It would end up being Xia Li. Pearce would order her to go to his office, but there was no follow-up on this for the rest of the show.

Other women from this episode includes Zelina Vega, Valhalla, and B-Fab. Much like last week, all three women were at ringside for their respective stables. There was a triple threat of Hit Row, The Vking Raiders, and Legado del Fantasma to determine the number one contenders for the men’s tag team titles.

During the match, Vega would get involved as she hit Ashante Thee Adonis with a head scissor takedown. B-Fab delivered a bicycle kick to Vega knocking her out of the ring before Valhalla kicked B-Fab in the throat. Both B-Fab and Valhalla were on the outside by commentary when Vega would launch off the second rope and lay out Valhalla.

Lastly, Raquel Rodriguez would be interviewed backstage. She confirmed that she would be in the Gauntlet match set for next week to determine the number one contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Shayna Baszler and current SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey would appear and attack the already injured Rodriguez.

Becky Lynch vs. Bayley Set For Dec. 19 Raw

0

WWE has announced that Becky Lynch will take on Bayley in a singles match for the Dec. 19 episode of Raw. A one-on-one match that we have not seen since April 2019.

Lynch and Bayley have been fueling a rivalry since her return from injury prior to Survivor Series WarGames. Lynch has been seeking revenge ever since the Raw after SummerSlam when Damage CTRL took her out backstage with a steel chair. During WarGames it would be Lynch to win for her team after pinning Dakota Kai, but she has been wanting to get in the ring one-on-one with the leader of the pack.

So far at the time of this writing, this is the only women’s match confirmed for Monday’s Raw.

Check back in with Diva Dirt on Monday night for the Raw Discussion Post to chat about this match live.

SmackDown Discussion Post: 12.16.22

Tonight’s SmackDown will have a Women’s Tag Team Championship match as Damage CTRL heads over to the blue brand. Dakota Kai & IYO SKY will be taking on the team of Liv Morgan and the recently returning Tegan Nox. Nox returned to save Morgan from a Damage CTRL numbers game two weeks ago.

The newly formed team hold a victory over Shayna Baszler and the SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey from last week. This was after Rousey was distracted by Raquel Rodriguez which allowed Morgan to pin Baszler.

Also last week we finally saw some valets/managers get into it. Valhalla, B-Fab, and Zelina Vega all got physical in regard to their male counterparts. There is a tag team match from the three teams tonight, will the women get involved once again?

As for the champion Rousey, she and Baszler injured Shotzi last week with a car door on her hand. She will be out for six weeks. Shotzi is the third in a row of destruction from Rousey and Baszler as Rodriguez and Natalya both have suffered injuries in the past number of weeks.

As always, feel free to discuss tonight’s show in the comment section below.

Willow Nightingale Talks Full Circle Moment By Signing With AEW

Willow Nightingale is one of the most recent women to receive her All Elite official signing with AEW. It took place on the Oct. 21 episode of AEW Rampage after a victory over Leila Grey. After the match, Tony Schiavone entered the ring to announce that Nightingale was official with an All Elite graphic appearing on screen behind her.

Nightingale has worked with AEW since April 2021 by working regular AEW Dark matches at Daily’s Place. She explains in a new interview that she felt this was a full circle moment and also that prior to becoming All Elite she was on a pay-per-appearance.

While speaking with Grapsody, she had the following to say about her signing.

“I, obviously knew I had been signed at this point, I signed the contract that morning. They had emailed it to me and I was standing ringside when I did the signature on my phone. It was really fresh and very full circle for me. Daily’s Place, the majority of the time I spent there in the crowd because the audience was people who came in for extra work or other people who were on the roster who weren’t wrestling. We filled the crowd, made all the noise and supported each other, and were there for hours at a time. We were there until two in the morning sometimes recording the show. We would do this every two weeks. It felt like I was putting in so much energy and effort and, is there the recognition there that I wanted? Is the payoff there? I don’t know. Now, a year and some change later, I have signed a full-time contract to the company that I want to work for, in the building where I felt some of my lowest feelings about myself and my career, and it was very full circle. To have the crowd there to cheer for me and be super into it, it was very overwhelming. Yes, I did not see [the graphic] on the big screen. At one point, I turned around and was like, ‘Wow, that’s me!’ I was responding to all the people around me. Tony Schiavone, a legend of the industry, putting it all out there. I was overwhelmed with a flurry of different emotions. That was a really cool moment for me.” (Fightful)

Nightingale has most recently defeated Trish Adora at ROH Final Battle and has picked up wins against Marina Shafir and Anna Jay in AEW. She has also won tag team matches alongside former AEW Women’s World Champions Hikaru Shida and Riho. She has challenged Jade Cargill for the TBS Championship prior to becoming All Elite.

She continues, “I had a pay-per-appearance situation. I was with them in a capacity, in an official capacity even, but to me it didn’t really feel the same. I wasn’t on the roster page. I don’t think the fans really looked at me as part of the team. Here and there, depends on who you ask. I still felt a chip on my shoulder because even if I hadn’t gotten the All Elite graphic, it just didn’t feel like I was fully welcomed in yet. The women in the locker room were great and had been treating me kindly and everything, but it wasn’t the whole thing. When it all happened, I was like, ‘Ahh! Yes!.'”

Latest Reports On Sasha Banks & Naomi’s WWE Status

0

Over the past day, a couple of reports have come out in regard to Sasha Banks and Naomi‘s WWE status. Both Banks & Naomi have not been seen in WWE since they left the company back in May. During that time, WWE stated on-air that they were suspended indefinitely and stripped of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Since then their profiles still remain on the active roster on the WWE official website but there still remains no update from WWE themselves.

In a report from Fightful Select on Dec. 15, they can confirm that Banks’ WWE exit was negotiated “months ago.” This coincides with when Raj Giri from Wrestling Inc. broke the news of her exit. It was confirmed as well that Banks is able to take wrestling bookings as of January 1 which is something Fightful had already reported a few months ago.

Fightful Select also confirms that the New Japan Pro Wrestling deal is set and was agreed upon as early as the last week of November. Those that are familiar with the NJPW deal state they have not heard anything regarding Banks and AEW yet but that also doesn’t rule it out from happening either.

In addition to the Fightful Select report, Wrestling Observer Newsletter added more news regarding Banks. They are stating that Banks was seeking a number along the lines of Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. Those internally in WWE are saying she was not offered numbers close to that. They added that she is not seen internally as someone on top for the next five years.

“She and WWE did not reach terms for a new contract. WWE directly wouldn’t say anything about her but those in the company over recent months had said the sides were not close on money. She and WWE reached an agreement in the summer regarding her leaving and the agreement was they would release her to be a free agent rather than freeze her deal, but she couldn’t do anything with wrestling until the start of 2023. In the fall, with the regime change, she was back in negotiations to return and it was considered that it was close to a done deal, aside from the money figure, and the two sides ended up being far apart.” – WON

In regards to Banks and NJPW, Dave Meltzer stated “The deal is with New Japan but would include one date for Stardom. That would be for a show that is expected in April, but the company had planned for the biggest show in its history, which will tentatively be announced on 12/29 at the Stardom Sumo Hall show.”

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter also provided the following on Naomi.

Sources have stated that she has to make a decision. Meltzer says,

“Regarding Trinity Fatu (Naomi), who left with Banks, and nothing has been said about her, we were told that she has to make a decision. Originally she wanted to come back with Banks as a tag team and was told her decision would be to sit at home, to go elsewhere (her contract was about to expire when she left although they could freeze it and force her back for a very short period of time, but that really wouldn’t make sense) or to return without Banks.”

Credit to Fightful Select and The Wrestling Observer Newsletter for these reports.

Diva Dirt will update anything additional on Sasha Banks and Naomi if/when more information is available.

Contract Signing Sets Up Tag Team Match On IMPACT Wrestling

The December 15 episode of IMPACT unfortunately did not have any Knockouts matches, however two tag team bouts were set up for next week.

Scott D’Amore oversaw a contract signing backstage between Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace and Mickie James. Grace said she’s opting to say her piece in the ring before signing the contract and sliding it over. James cautioned Grace to not assume anything regarding the outcome of their Title vs. Career match at Hard to Kill. James said she’s had plenty of moments in her career and will have another one on January 13.

After they signed, Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans marched in the room. Steelz pointed out that Mickie said she would go through everyone during The Last Rodeo, but she hasn’t beaten her. In fact, Steelz beat Mickie twice this year with the title on the line. Mickie said she still has plenty of time to kick Tasha’s ass before Hard to Kill. Jordynne interjected and reiterated that the papers are signed because she wants Mickie at the pay-per-view. D’Amore interrupted to book James and Grace vs. Steelz and Evans for next week.

Gisele Shaw approached Deonna Purrazzo to inquire about reforming a team to go after the tag titles. Purrazzo initially scoffed at the idea, citing Shaw as the one who broke up the band in the first place. They argued back and forth until Purrazzo agreed to team with Shaw again. They will take on Rosemary and Jessicka of The Death Dollz in a non-title match on December 22.

We also saw a vignette that teased the arrival of Taylor Wilde‘s witchy side.

What did you think of this week’s IMPACT? Are you excited for next week’s tag matches? Sound off with your thoughts below!

More Details On Mandy Rose’s WWE Release

0

The WWE Universe was shocked yesterday when the news on Mandy Rose‘s WWE release broke as first reported by Fightful. Rose’s 413 day reign as NXT Women’s Champion ended on Tuesday, Dec. 13 and by the next day, the report of her release was out. The release was said to be over the content on her FanTime page.

Additional details have just been released on Fightful Select.

According to Fightful Select, they have been told that things seemed “very hasty” as it related to Mandy Rose losing the NXT Women’s Title on Tuesday. Fightful got word about it 15 minutes before NXT went on the air, that word was that a major title switch was going to happen with Mandy dropping the title to Roxanne Perez.

Those close to Rose claim she was in good spirits at the NXT show on Tuesday as well as immediately following the release.

Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin, who Mandy had been in the Toxic Attraction stable with for over a year, had several looks on the WWE main roster and we’re told had long impressed people of influence. However, Fightful had not learned of any advanced plans to bring Mandy back to the main roster.

Rose was one of many WWE talent that were signed to new five-year deals in 2019 which means she had nearly two more years left on her contract at the time of release. There were some WWE sources that were at least trying to leak that Mandy had requested her release two weeks ago, but so far, Fightful has not been given any indication that’s true.

Rose did make a statement on her FanTime site following her release. She stated on Dec. 15 –

“Hey guys, thank you for all the messages. I am overwhelmed with all the love and support from you guys. And don’t worry the page is still up!”

WWE has not officially announced her release from the company.

IMPACT Wrestling Had Interest In Signing Roxanne Perez

0

The new NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez could have been a Knockout in IMPACT Wrestling.

Perez, formerly known by her ring name Rok-C is the former inaugural ROH Women’s World Champion. Prior to her tryout in WWE in January, Perez faced Deonna Purrazzo in a Title vs. Title Match in an IMPACT ring. On the line was not only Perez’s ROH Women’s World but Purrazzo’s AAA Reina de Reinas Title. Purrazzo would indeed take the title off Perez and become a double champ in the process.

Perez just became the NXT Women’s Champion at NXT Deadline defeating Mandy Rose. This championship victory was a topic of discussion on Busted Open Radio with Mickie James, Tommy Dreamer, and Dave LaGreca. Dreamer, who is a producer for IMPACT, mentioned that the company was interested in signing Perez after her appearance.

Dreamer says, “Which means he’s (Booker T) a great trainer. He really is because you saw that (Roxanne Perez winning the NXT Women’s Title). Think about the ride that she’s had in one year. I believe she went into the year as the Ring of Honor Women’s Champion and she’s leaving, she worked IMPACT, had one hell of a match and we were like, ‘We wanna sign her’ but she was like, ‘I got a tryout with WWE.’ ‘Cool, go. Hopefully it works out.’ and boom, she’s ending the year defeating Mandy Rose who had one hell of a reign. Congratulations to you. You reinvented your career, you reinvented your life, you made yourself have so much value and then, you know, for Roxanne Perez, what a great year. What a great book-end year.”

Mickie James added to the conversation about when she first met Perez. In addition that she also encouraged Perez to chase her dream in the WWE tryout.

James says, “I remember when I was booking EmPowerrr (NWA), and Rok-C, so I did see her wrestle and she was doing the stuff with Ring of Honor. It was right before she won the championship and talking to Maria (Kanellis) and Maria was booking Ring of Honor at the time. It didn’t up working out there, but I finally met her at that (IMPACT) tryout, and I told her, and I’m saying this now but Scott (D’Amore) would probably have stabbed me in the eyeball – but I hope I don’t see you back here. You could just see it. This girl is about to take off. She’s so young and she has the whole world at her feet. And she is going to be one of the biggest stars in wrestling, one of the biggest stars in wrestling.”

Dreamer adds that the industry isn’t like it used to be and Perez was motivated to go and do her WWE tryout with James adding that if things didn’t work out she can always come back.

Sasha Banks Talks Recent Training In Mexico

0

Sasha Banks (Mercedes Varnado) recently trained in Mexico with talents such as Juventud Guerrera, Samuray Del Sol, and others. This took place in November and she hasn’t wrestled a match since May when she walked out of WWE alongside Naomi when they were the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

On a recent charity stream for Family Giving Tree alongside Bayley on Instagram Live, Banks reflected her time in Mexico. Roxanne Perez and Indi Hartwell also appeared on the stream.

“I miss Mexico so much. I think about it every single day. What a huge crazy honor to live in a different country, let alone Mexico. Just to go out there to train lucha libre with these top legends that I grew up watching, whether it was Ricky Marvin, The Juic Juventud, Skayde…I have been such a fan of his work. he way that he teaches, he taught a lot of CHIKARA Pro guys. Claudio (Castagnoli), Drew Gulak. I’m a huge fan of Claudio’s work. I wanted to get my basing down, my rolls down, so I found him at the gym and freaked out like a fan. ‘You’re here. You’re actually here. I’ve been DMing you for years, trying to find an email, trying to get to a seminar in the United States.’ There I was in Mexico, training with him. Craziest timing so meant to be. Trained with five different people whether it was Ricky Marvin, The Juice, Mamba, Skayde, Mr. Iguana. There was so much. I miss it daily. I’m homesick from Mexico because I belong there.” (Fightful)

Bayley chimed in and explained how training in Mexico is enjoyable. She says they tell you when you do something wrong and make fun of you, but in a fun way.

Banks reportedly will be at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January according to PWInsider. It has been reported by Dave Meltzer that she wouldn’t be wrestling but would appear. She has also confirmed that she has a makeup line coming.

Fightful Select will have more news on Banks coming soon including where interests may be coming from including AEW.

AEW Women’s World Title Match Set For Dynamite: Holiday Bash

Here’s what you missed from AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming.

In a match that was labeled as 101 days in the making, Ruby Soho finally had the chance to go one-on-one with Tay Melo for the first time in their careers. They last crossed paths at All Out where Soho broke her nose. In this clash, there was no love lost as Melo attacked Soho on the ramp before the bell. Once the bout officially started, the two scrapped and targeted each other’s noses throughout. In the end, Soho counted the Tay-KO and connected with Destination Unknown to secure the victory.

Post-match, Soho wasn’t able to celebrate for long as Anna Jay attacked her from behind. Perhaps Soho could use some backup?

The December 21 episode of Dynamite will have the “Holiday Bash” theme as Jamie Hayter will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Hikaru Shida. This will mark their first-ever singles match together after crossing paths in tag team matches at the All Out four-way title match that was won by Toni Storm.

Before that, though, Britt Baker will compete on this Friday’s Rampage when she takes on Skye Blue. This match came about after Blue interrupted Baker’s backstage interview to point out how much she runs her mouth.

What did you think of this week’s Dynamite? Are you excited for Shida vs. Hayter? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Mandy Rose Reportedly Released By WWE

0

It is being reported by Fightful Select that former NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose has been released by WWE.

In a social media post, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sappa states that “WWE officials felt they were put in a tough position based on the content she was posting on her BrandArmy page. They felt like it was outside the parameters of her WWE deal.”

Rose dropped the NXT Women’s Championship to Roxanne Perez after 413 days as champion on the Dec. 13 episode of NXT. Rose has been with WWE since 2015 after being runner-up in the last Tough Enough season.

More details will be provided as they get revealed.

Diva Dirt hopes to see Mandy Rose back in a wrestling ring soon.

Roxanne Perez Crowned NEW NXT Women’s Champion

0

Roxanne Perez is the new NXT Women’s Champion after defeating Mandy Rose on the Dec. 13 episode of NXT. Perez earned her title shot after becoming the Iron Survivor at Deadline in a number one contender match. Perez becoming the NXT Women’s Champion ends the impressive 413-day reign for Rose.

The title match was originally set for New Year’s Evil in January, but after the start of this week’s NXT, Perez challenged Rose to the match on tonight’s episode instead. In a segment to start the show, the two Iron Survivor winners Perez and Grayson Waller exchanged words. This caused the NXT Champion Bron Breakker to come out and side with Perez against Waller. After the men separated themselves from the segment, Rose attacked Perez from behind.

The match took place in the main event. In the final moments of the match, Mandy hit Kiss the Rose and went for the cover but only got a near fall much to her surprise. She then went to put away Perez once again but Perez reversed it and hit Pop Rox for the three count – crowning her the new champion.

Elsewhere on this episode of NXT, Toxic Attraction took on Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley. The NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Katana Chance & Kayden Carter were on commentary for the match. The match ended in a disqualification after the champions got involved and pulled Toxic Attraction out of the ring causing all three teams to brawl.

Next week there will be a Triple Threat match between all three teams for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Lyra Valkyria (Aoife Valkyrie) made her official NXT debut. The former NXT UK talent had her first match in 15 months against Amari Miller. She was victorious off a frog splash.

Also set for next week Zoey Stark will be taking on Nikkita Lyons.

Wendy Choo does not appear to be done with Cora Jade.

NXT Discussion Post: 12.13.22

We’ve reached the fallout from NXT Deadline and we have a new number one contender! Roxanne Perez will be facing Mandy Rose at New Year’s Evil in January after defeating four other women in the Iron Survivor Challenge Match. Also in that match were Cora Jade, Indi Hartwell, Kiana James, and Zoey Stark.

Also at that event, Isla Dawn defeated Alba Fyre. What will be the fallout from both of these matches tonight?

What we already have advertised for tonight is a tag team match between Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley taking on Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne. This match although not officially a number one contender’s match will likely push forward the next challengers for the tag champions Kayden Carter & Katana Chance.

Also Lyra Valkyria will make her NXT debut tonight. She was known in NXT UK as Aoife Valkyrie and has now made her way to the states. This will be her first match since an injury has had her out for over a year.

As always, feel free to discuss tonight’s show in the comment section below.

And if you haven’t posted in this year’s Year End Women’s Fan Awards please do so by clicking here. The polls are still open until Saturday, Dec. 17.

Alexa Bliss Becomes Number One Contender; Asuka Hints Character Change

0

Alexa Bliss is the new number one contender for Bianca Belair‘s Raw Women’s Championship. A date for the Bliss vs. Belair match was not announced.

She took on Bayley to start off Raw this week and came away with the victory after delivering Twisted Bliss. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Dakota Kai and IYO SKY accompanied Bayley to the ring. However, Becky Lynch arrived and attacked both Kai and SKY taking them out threw the crowd and away from the ring prior to the match starting. Belair came out to ringside to watch the match.

After Bliss picked up the victory she went to give Belair a hug in the ring and caught the Raw Women’s Champion in Sister Abigail. She wouldn’t execute the move releasing Belair as the two backed away from one another. Just before the Sister Abigail tease, the Bray Wyatt symbol appeared on the big screen behind Belair.

The second match of the night was the advertised Candice LeRae taking on IYO SKY. The two have a lot of history from NXT and LeRae was looking to finally get a win over SKY.

Prior to the match, LeRae had a backstage segment with Johnny Gargano and Dexter Lumis. For another week, Nikki Cross appeared behind LeRae spying on her. SKY would end up winning the match after delivering her moonsault. Damage CTRL celebrated in the ring following SKY’s win. LeRae is still winless against SKY in singles matches.

Lastly, the third women’s match had Asuka taking on Rhea Ripley. Although we have seen this match recently, this time felt different as Asuka came to the ring and wrestled without her normal face makeup on. During the match, commentary brought up Asuka’s recent Twitter postings being unusual. For those who have not been caught up, Asuka has been posting her prior to WWE character Kana frequently on social media since last week.

Asuka would take the loss in this match after she spit mist in the face of Dominik Mysterio. This allowed Ripley to deliver the Riptide.

Check back in with Diva Dirt for more news and results from the women of Raw.

Kylie Rae Working WWE Main Event Match

0

Kylie Rae has been booked to work a taped WWE Main Event match this evening prior to Raw. She faces Dana Brooke and is going by the name Briana Ray.

It was reported by both PWInsider and Fightful last week that Rae attended a WWE tryout throughout the week. She was joined by a few other indie talents and this was a separate tryout compared to the recent open ones.

Rae has previously appeared for AEW, IMPACT, and NWA among many indie promotions. There is no word at this time if she has been offered a contract.

Diva Dirt will provide further updates as they present themselves.

Raw Discussion Post: 12.12.22

The Dec. 12 edition of Raw that will take place tonight has two women’s matches already set up.

After two Triple Threat matches last week, the winners from those – Alexa Bliss and Bayley – will be facing off tonight to determine the number one contender for Biana Belair’s Raw Women’s Championship.

The second women’s match will be IYO SKY vs. Candice LeRae. The two reignite their rivalry from NXT with the match tonight. LeRae has already defeated Dakota Kai, can she do the same against SKY?

As for Kai & SKY, they will be defending the Women’s Tag Team Titles this Friday on SmackDown against Tegan Nox & Liv Morgan.
