Former Diva Tiffany Comments on Storyline Between Husband Drew McIntyre & Kelly Kelly

Former WWE Diva, Tiffany (Taryn Terrell) has gone on record for the first time over the current storyline between husband Drew McIntyre and her former Blondetourage cohort, Kelly Kelly. The duo have been getting close on Friday nights in a storyline which Taryn reveals was originally pitched with her in mind. Speaking to the Miami … Read more

SmackDown Redux (December 31st, 2010): Glama-Hart Slam the Door on 2010 By Shutting Down Lay-Cool

SmackDown tonight provided us with the perfect ending of the year. Glama-Hart and Lay-Cool put together one last blow off match (I think…) and it was nothing short of spectacular.

Happy New Year!

Backstage at SmackDown, there’s a party going on. Superstars, Divas, general managers, and a leprechaun are milling around as Rosa Mendes comes into focus. She’s hanging out with Hornswoggle for whatever reason. She’s feeding him cheese cubes from a silver platter and makes the comment that two thousand and ten was a pretty good year for her. ‘Swoggle starts making noise, so Rosa corrects herself and says that it has been a good year for “them” and that now, it’s time to celebrate. NXT rookie, Conor O’Brian, appears and stands over Rosa’s shoulder. He eyes her platter of cheese and begins to sniff it. Rosa freaks out a bit and wants to know what he’s doing, all the while turning away from him in disgust. Conor says that he admires Rosa’s cheese and his face starts to twitch. Thankfully for Rosa, the sexy Latin stallion, Alberto del Rio, walks over and demands to know what his rookie is doing. Conor motions towards the cheese and an apologetic Alberto turns to Rosa. He tells her not to mind his rookie and makes a comment about Conor looking like a rat. He then turns to Conor and warns him to leave the lady alone (Rosa smirks), as well as the thing (‘Swoggle enunciates). Alberto and Conor, as well as Ricardo, walk off and Teddy Long stands up on a platform. He welcomes everyone to the party and asks for volunteers to come up and make New Year’s resolutions.

Cue Drew McIntyre who gets up and smiles at Kelly Kelly. He says that all of us can mark it down that in two thousand and eleven, Drew will be a champion. He turns to Kelly and adds that he also wants to be a better person. A smiling Kelly seems to approve of this and unfortunately that probably means that in two thousand and eleven us fans are going to be subjected to more horribly acted segments between these two. Womp womp.

Tribute to the Troops Watch: Kelly Kelly is Santa’s Most Helpful Little Helper

The Divas once again dusted off their sexy Santa outfits for the annual Tribute to the Troops show taped earlier this month in Fort Hood, TX. It was an 8-Diva tag team match as Kelly Kelly led her helpers – Natalya and the Bell Twins – into battle with Lay-Cool and their helpers, Alicia Fox and a newly-heeled Melina.

Regardez:

Kelly’s team is out first and frankly, I’m not sure why it’s Kelly’s team considering Natalya is the Divas Champion. Surely they should be coming out to her music? Anyhoo, they’re followed by Lay-Cool and co. and we get this match started in front of a huge WrestleMania-sized crowd. I was actually in awe of how long the entrance ramp was and the size of the crowd. Very impressive and generous of WWE to lend their time to all of these troops.

Alicia & Nikki Bella kick things off with A-Fox in control, wrenching Nikki’s arm. Nikki is whipped into the ropes it with a nice tilt-a-whirl backbreaker by Fox. Foxy whips Nikki into her corner aggressively and tags out to our new heel Diva, Melina. The former Divas Champ takes control and begins stomping at Nikki before hitting her with some hard, aggressive forearms. Brie tries to come into the ring and make the save but the referee catches her. With the ref distracted, the other heels begin attacking Nikki in their corner and Michelle hits her head against the side of the ring.

SmackDown Redux (December 21st, 2010): What Happens On SmackDown Stays on SmackDown (and Should Never Happen Again!)

After a brutal tables match at TLC and a fun match on Raw complete with a heel turn twist, you’d think that on the live edition of Tuesday Night SmackDown, the great Diva match roll would continue on. You would think that after announcing a handicap match on Raw for SmackDown featuring Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero teaming up against Super John Cena that this week’s SmackDown would be the most epic SmackDown ever.

Oh it was epic alright. An epic fail.

Instead of greatness, we were forced to witness the complete violation of poor Vickie. Storyline continuation in the WORST way. And a reunion of sorts that the majority of the free world wishes wouldn’t have happened at all. With that kind of intro, you’re just begging to take a look at the action, aren’t you? Well sit back, grab some tissues, and get ready to weep. It truly is just that bad.

The first Diva sighting of the night involves Rose Mendes. She’s walking alongside Big Show Santa Claus and they’re handing out presents backstage. After Rosa says ‘Feliz Navidad’ to backstage worker and gives him a present, Hornswoggle pops into the picture. He has a toy bag over his head and when they pull it off, he is dressed like an elf. Of course he is. He places his hand on Rosa’s hip and the three of them continue to walk with the promise of more to come later.

Random Observations: Oh joy. I just can’t wait for more. On a more positive note, Rosa looks smoking hot tonight and her little Santa outfit is sexy! I wasn’t exactly a fan of the darker hair at first, but she’s working it tonight.

SmackDown Redux (December 17th, 2010): Natalya and Beth Send A Message

With TLC just mere days away, the Divas of the WWE were getting into the pay-per-view spirit on this Friday’s rendition of SmackDown. Michelle McCool, Layla, Beth Phoenix, and Diva’s Champion, Natalya, put together a nice little segment that built up their Sunday night showdown pretty darn well. Elsewhere, Kelly Kelly found a new potential soulmate in the form of a six foot six, dreamy blue eyed Scottish lad by the name of Drew McIntyre. Unfortunately for Drew, Kaitlyn the cockblocker showed up and ruined his chances of scoring a date with the WWE’s Barbie girl, but there’s always next week, right?!

Lay-Cool were walking to the ring when SmackDown returned from a commercial break, which set up the most important part of the show in my humble opinion. The two-time Slammy award winning duo were dressed in matching outfits and wore matching expressions of irritation on their faces. They had microphones and Michelle started us off. She said that what we were witnessing was the official protest of the Diva’s tables match at TLC this Sunday. She said that the match was not going to happen and Layla said that the match was completely barbaric. Michelle agreed and then Layla asked the crowd who in their right mind would want to see them go through a table? The crowd cheered which did nothing but piss off Lay-Cool. Michelle began to rant that no one seemed to understand what “diva” was. She said the crowd knew nothing about it and that the girls in the back knew nothing about it as well. Layla spoke up and said that being diva meant being flawless, and both Michelle and Layla gestured to themselves. Michelle declared that the table match at TLC was off and they stood their ground as Natalya’s music starting blaring across the PA system.

NXT Redux (November 30th, 2010): NXT’s Cinderella Story; Kaitlyn Wins Season Three

For the past thirteen weeks we have laughed, cried, cheered, and booed the six rookie Divas who made up season three of NXT. Jamie Keyes, Maxine, Aksana, AJ, Naomi, and Kaitlyn all started with a dream. For some of them, it was a life long dream to be a WWE Diva. For others, it was an opportunity to entertain millions of people in a capacity that they probably never thought would be possible. It was a season of highs and lows, to say the least, and tonight it all culminated with an unlikely winner that yours truly predicted after the very first episode aired.

The show kicked off tonight in atypical fashion. Instead of Blue Eyes in the ring, we were treated to the unfortunate site of Michael Cole. He was somber about what happened on Raw and explained to everyone that he planned on speaking to Jerry Lawler in private about what went down between the two the previous night. Like we really care. Josh Matthews started to speak next. He sent us to Matt Striker (thank God). Striker was in the ring and introduced us to Vickie Guerrero. Vickie screeched her catchphrase “excuse me” as she walked onto the stage. She said that Kaitlyn should thank God that Vickie was her pro because without Vickie, no one would even know Kaitlyn’s name. Kaitlyn walked out, and pro and rookie made their way to the ring. Naomi followed them out and once everyone was settled into the ring, Striker spoke again. He told both girls that after thirteen weeks one of them would have their dream come true. He turned to Naomi and told her that Kelly Kelly taped a message for her. Kelly said that she was on her way overseas to entertain the troops with Eve and the Big Show, and that’s the only reason why she wasn’t there tonight. She sang Naomi’s praises and told her that she was the best rookie anyone could have asked for.

SmackDown Redux (November 26th, 2010): Black Friday is Dark Indeed for Michelle McCool

The moment we had all been waiting for finally happened at Survivor Series last Sunday. Natalya defeated Lay-Cool (Layla and Michelle McCool) to become the new Diva’s Champion and Beth Phoenix made her highly anticipated return. The possibilities of a Natalya title reign are endless, and there are some mouth watering match-ups in there to boot. But first, we have to concentrate on SmackDown and after Nattie basically sent Lay-Cool packing on Raw, the egotistical devious duo were not in great moods. Michelle took on Kelly Kelly in a singles match. Lets go see how it worked out.

Lay-Cool’s music is playing as SmackDown comes back from a break or something. Both Layla and Michelle have microphones, and Michelle is dressed to wrestle. She says that Lay-Cool’s music needs to be cut and mentions that neither she nor her BFF are in the mood for shenanigans tonight. Layla believes that she’s currently having the worst week ever and Michelle claims that Natalya has stolen the Diva’s Championship which is apparently property of Lay-Cool. They insult Natalya and complain about what happened on Monday night. Neither are amused that Natalya had them kicked out of Raw. Lay-Cool say that they hate Raw and then begin to talk about how beautiful the people of Jacksonville, Florida are.

NXT Redux (November 23rd, 2010): The Most Shocking Elimination Ever

Normally this space is reserved for what either previously happened on NXT or what is going to happen tonight. I have not a clue at this point which it is because our little web show that could left me truly stunned for the first time ever last night. AJ‘s elimination basically sent shockwaves through the WWE Universe and I, for one, was completely blindsided and shocking overcome with emotion. I don’t know AJ personally but her goodbye speech last night was one of the most heartfelt things I’ve ever seen in my life. She truly wanted to be part of the WWE and honestly, she deserves it. She’s stated time and time again that wrestling is her passion; that being a WWE Diva has been her dream since she was a little girl. Watching AJ walk up the ramp in tears last night and embrace Primo really did bring out my girl emotions and those emotions are overflowing right now as I relive this moment. Perhaps it’s my emo Simple Plan music playing in the background. Or maybe it’s due to the fact that I’m just highly emotional right now but AJ leaving NXT is a stunning miscarriage of justice.

Lets take a look at how the night unfolded.

In keeping with tradition, NXT opened up with Matt Striker looking flawless in the middle of the ring. He announced the rookie girls and Kaitlyn, Naomi, and AJ walked out to the ring. As they entered, each girl bent down and selected an air horn which meant that a challenge was looming on the horizon. That was indeed the case as Striker announced that WWE Trivia was about to commence. He ran down how the contest would work and told each girl in the ring that there would be no immunity tonight. Everyone would be fair game and the contest got underway. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out how this went. AJ dominated the competion and basically answered every question right but one. That lone one hundred points went to Naomi. The ending tally was in AJ’s favor. She had 1300 points, while Naomi had 100, and Kaitlyn had zero. Striker announced AJ as the winner and told Kaitlyn to hang out inside the ring because she would be in action against Nikki Bella next.

SmackDown Redux (November 19th, 2010): Well That Was Special And A Super Way To Build Up A Match

Tonight on SmackDown…

Still smarting from their humiliation this past Monday on Raw, Michelle McCool and Layla looked for redemption in the form of tag team action against their number one rival, Natalya, and her partner (again), Kelly Kelly. With Lay-Cool haters and Mae Young not around, Lay-Cool look to regain the upperhand on their way to this Sunday’s pay-per-view extravaganza. But if history remains true, then Natalya should come out victorious and on top, right?

Lets see…

Layla and Michelle McCool are in the ring as SmackDown returns from break. They are posing with their championships and checking their reflections. Eventually their music fades and is replaced by Natalya’s theme. She makes her way to the ring with her tag team partner for this evening, Kelly Kelly, and they’re being their face best with happy smiles. They’re even holding hands.

Layla and Kelly are set to begin the match of course, Layla and Michelle just have to throw in a few Smelly Kelly references. The bell rings and the girls lock up. They jostle for position with Kelly backing Layla into the ropes. Layla forces her foe back and looks to land a decisive kick, but Kelly puts a stop to that and fires back with a nice looking forearm shot. Layla is whipped across the ring and taken down with a Thesz Press from Kelly. Kelly slams her opponent’s head into the ground a few times and then picks up Layla. She locks her arm around Layla’s neck and backs her into the corner. Natalya gets the tag.

Recap of Kelly Kelly on Bubba the Love Sponge

SmackDown Diva, Kelly Kelly was interviewed on Bubba the Love Sponge’s radio show yesterday to promote WWE’s Survivor Series pay per view.

wrestle in those boots. Bubba thinks she’s like the John Cena of
divas, Brett said she is, Bubba thinks she’s the most over one, he
then said that he once tried selling Hogan’s boots on EBay. Kelly said
she’ll be in Smackdown, she said she’ll role out with the boots, she
said her eye lashes are half fake. Bubba asked if Kelly fit the Spice
template, he then asked Kelly who she is currently with, Kelly

there, someone had to go.

Mr. Glamazon’s Hitting the Ropes (Issue #19) – Kelly Kelly: A Bridge to Nowhere?

If you normally read my column you know I am full of theories.  I guess it comes from being an engineer, always trying to figure stuff out, always trying to see how things work.  It’s kind of ironic because that is certainly not how I was raised.  My dad couldn’t change a light bulb and just watched TV all day.  My mom was a dancer and was always listening to show tunes (where is the couch Dr. Freud?)  In any event somewhere along the line I got interested in science, eventually majoring in mathematics once I got to college.  When I had to declare a minor I chose Classical Studies, because, you know, “Clash of the Titans” was a cool movie (the original, not the brutal remake).  So, after 4 years of Nintendo, beer, and flag football, I graduated college as a deep thinker filled with numbers and Greek philosophy, perfect for analyzing and writing about women’s professional wrestling.

I have already shared with you several of my theories, such as my Kate Winslet Theory (Lay-Cool), my Beyonce Theory (Gail Kim) and my Sandra Bullock Theory (the Bella Twins).  Each one more enlightening than the last.  Well it’s time to reach even higher, to break through the intellectual clouds, and to share with you my latest and greatest brainwave.  I hope you’re sitting down…

I give to you…my “Sarah Palin Theory”!  *clap clap clap* You see, to me it is quite clear that Kelly Kelly is the Sarah Palin of the WWE.

Now, I could jump right into my analysis and immediately break this down, presenting the facts in an honest effort to convince you my theory is correct.  But as you know by now there has to be a personal back story to all of my articles, so here we go (this is the point most of you stop reading…thanks for coming, don’t forget to tip the waiters…)

NXT Redux (November 16th, 2010): What Do Jamie Keyes, Maxine and Aksana Have in Common?

Previously on NXT…
Life without Maxine for NXT as the final tried to impress the pros and WWE Universe in order to secure the votes they needed to stay in the competition. Aksana was given the chance to explain why she left Goldust at the alter, only to be interrupted by Naomi and challenged to a match later on in the evening. Tensions continued to rise between Brie Bella and Nikki Bella as Nikki squared off against AJ in a singles match. Brie’s good twin ways would eventually cost Nikki the match, something the bad twin probably wasn’t to thrilled about. As far as our love triangle goes, well Vickie Guerrero and Kaitlyn ended up in a brawl backstage and boy, was it ever rough! With an elimination hanging over the girls’ heads tonight, what will happen? Lets take a look…

We’re back to normal this week as Matt Striker successfully kicks off the show by introducing the girls. Naomi, Kaitlyn, Aksana, and AJ make their way to the ring and interestingly enough there are no pros on stage tonight. Striker says that there are only two weeks left of the competition and there will be an elimination tonight. He says that immunity is still up for grabs though and the first challenge tonight is called “How Well Do You Know Your Pro.” Basically how this works is Striker will ask a series of questions and the pros and rookies will answer. The rookies are to guess how they feel their pro will answer. The rookie who gets the most points will win the challenge. At this point, AJ and Kaitlyn are tied for immunity with one win apiece. So, Striker brings out the pros. Kelly Kelly, Vickie, Goldust, and Primo Colon enter and the contest gets underway!

The first question is, “When I first saw my rookie, I thought she was …”

The rookies fill in the blanks. AJ says “underage” and her answer matches with Primo who guesses “sixteen years old.” Aksana says “hot” which basically matches with Goldust’s answer of “sexy.” Kaitlyn said Vickie thought that she (Kaitlyn) was “so much prettier than me” and believe it or not that did not match with Vickie’s answer. She said “a man.” Naomi went last and picked the word “athletic” and that’s what Kelly thought. All rookies earned a point but Kaitlyn.

NXT Redux (November 2nd, 2010): The Internet Wedding of the Century Ends With a Resounding Slap!

Previously on NXT….

The Halloween edition of NXT certainly left a positive taste in the mouths of viewers. Brie Bella and AJ put together a match that was perhaps one of the best Diva matches on television this year. Nikki Bella continued her descent into WWE heeldom much to the disgust of her twin. Maxine won a Halloween candy eating contest, while Kaitlyn took home top prize in the costume contest for her Vickie Guerrero impersonation. Was it mentioned that the sexual tension between Kaitlyn and her mentor’s boyfriend, Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler, reached an all-time high?? Oh, lets not forget the fact that Ted DiBiase and everyone’s favorite French-Canadian Diva, Maryse, invaded the show. They set out on a quest to get the Million Dollar Championship back from Goldust and Aksana. Aksana saved the day once again and looked amazing while doing so.

Tonight, the highly anticipated wedding between Lithuanian-born Aksana and the adorable Goldust will take place. Will Maryse and Ted show up? There’s an elimination too. Which rookie is going to be sent packing during the ninth week of competition? Lets take a look!

Note: Please excuse the audio on the videos. It looks like a production copy of the show leaked.

Striker is in the ring and he brings out the rookie girls. Kaitlyn, Maxine, Naomi, AJ, and Aksana make their way to the ring. All the girls look gorgeous tonight as they’re in street clothes which leads me to believe no one will be wrestling tonight. Striker explains to them that tonight is the elimination but adds that with three challenge wins Naomi is eligible for immunity. He also says that with the exception of Aksana, the other three girls can catch and tie Naomi. Since mathematics is not on Aksana’s side, Striker excuses her from tonight’s competitions so she can get ready for her wedding. Aksana waves, walks off, and we’re told that the first challenge tonight is a kissing contest. Striker wants a special guest judge so of course, Hornswoggle is brought out. Maxine is not happy about this but Horny, on the other hand, is overjoyed. Striker tells him that he gets to pick which Diva kisses the best.

Trick or Treat! Going Halloween Costume Shopping: Divas Edition

For the past two years around Halloween, (view 2008 and part 1, part 2, and part 3 of 2009) we’ve suggested some tongue-in-cheek costumes for Divas and Knockouts. This year, we continue the tradition. We started with the NXT rookies, and followed with the Knockouts. Now, finally, it’s time for the Divas to get costumed. Enjoy, and be sure to vote for your favorite below!

Alicia Fox
Costume: Foxy Cleopatra to Santino’s Austin Powers.
Why?: Diva Dirt’s not one to pass up some wordplay, and Miss Foxy Alicia certainly lends herself to be called Foxy Cleopatra. She definitely rivals Beyonce for her fantastic figure, and her self-assuredness lends itself to playing the secret agent who’s constantly introducing herself as “a whole lotta woman!”. Seeing her dolled up 60s-style with a bright jumpsuit, prop gun, and afro while Santino goes appropriately over-the-top as Austin Powers would be a funny sight. Hey, if anyone’s got to be paired with Santino, it might as well be a Diva who can keep him in line.
Get the look: Get the outfit and the hairdo.

Beth Phoenix
Costume: A zombie.
Why?: She’s back from the dead injury! Beth is unstoppable, evidenced by her return, and is ready to take out anyone who stands in her way. Like an undead zombie, she rises from apparent defeat, hungry (in Beth’s case, for victory). What better way to scare the life out of her fellow Divas than to make her return as if from the grave, skin rotting, eyes lifeless, bloodthirsty attitude? It’s hard to think of a Diva more intimidating, but zombie Beth just might surpass the living one.
Get the look: Go in-depth with these tutorial videos.

Eve Torres, Gail Kim, & Kelly Kelly
Costume: Modern-day Charlie’s Angels
Why?: Taking a cue from the modern “Charlie’s Angels” movies, these babyface Divas would be matched up to their counterparts easily. Eve would be the spunky Dylan (as played by Drew Barrymore), Gail would be the serious Alex (as played by Lucy Liu), and Kelly would be the free-spirited Natalie (as played by Cameron Diaz). Striking the signature pose, these Divas would make for a convincing double of that trio, and the WWE could fill their Hornswoggle quota by pairing him with the angels as Bosley. Your standard 6-Diva tag team match would never be the same!
Get the look: Find two friends, assume the specific personalities, and prepare to kick ass, wire-fighting style. Be sure to wear clothes that best fit your angel (tomboyish for Dylan, dark and sleek for Alex, sexy and girly for Natalie).

Read on to see more costume suggestions.

SmackDown Redux (October 29th, 2010): Lady Gagool, Layonce, Spider-Melina & Friends

It’s not Halloween without the Divas breaking out a costume — or eight, and that’s exactly what we saw this week on SmackDown. Some were uninspired (Batman & Robin? Yawn.) and some (Lady Gaga, Beyonce) tried to capture the pop culture of the day, even though WWE is about a year behind in what’s relevant.

Watch as what begins as a Halloween costume contest becomes a full-fledged eight Diva tag team match:

A rarity for the Divas, they each get their own entrance in order to show off their costumes. The Bellas are out first dressed as Batman and Robin. Out next is Alicia Fox dressed as Cleopatra; a valiant effort but not quite as breathtaking as Asha on last night’s episode of ‘Outsourced’. Kelly Kelly, rather predictably, goes for a ‘sexy’ Little Bo Peep costume. Rosa Mendes is a leprechaun? Doesn’t she realise Hornswoggle is in the ring and likes to sexually assault Divas? Former Divas Champ, Melina is Spiderwoman and then it’s the pièce de résistance: Lay-Cool as Lady Gaga and Beyonce. You’d think they’d go for the matching Telephone outfits, but nope — Layla is Beyonce in the two year old ‘Single Ladies’ video (which is what we suggested for Alicia Fox last year and sorry Lay, it would’ve suited her much better) and Michelle is Gaga in the equally old ‘Poker Face’ video. Still, A for the effort of trying to do something relatively current.

Onto the costume contest now, but before Teddy Long can begin his officiating, Michelle takes to the microphone and pretty much says Lay-Cool should win and save us from the laborious task of watching each of them shake their rumps and embarrass themselves. Melina takes exception and argues with Lay-Cool only to be hit with a zinger from McCool. “Why are you even dressed up? You’re scary enough as it is.” I giggled. Sorry Melina… Layla shoves Melina but before she can fight back, Hornswoggle intervenes and knocks poor Michelle on her butt in fright. Didn’t that little sex pest troll learn from last time not to mess with Michelle?

NXT Redux (October 26th, 2010): Halloween Edition of NXT: Trick or Treat?

Previously on NXT…

Rookie Divas Maxine and Kaitlyn stunk it up in what was perhaps one of the worst matches in WWE history. Naomi swept the challenges, putting her first in line for immunity from elimination. Aksana received her engagement ring from Goldust and fawned over it, even during challenges. And last, but certainly not least, the highlight of last week’s episode was the beginning of perhaps the end of the Bella twins as Nikki Bella showed some fire (as well as major heel tendencies) during the tag team main event which pitted Nikki and Brie Bella against Naomi and her pro, Kelly Kelly.

This week can only be better, right?

Mr. Blue Eyes, Matt Striker, was waiting for us as the program began. He introduced us all to the Halloween edition of NXT and brought out the rookie Divas. They were dressed in Halloween costumes of course and kudos to them for not being so stereotypical. AJ was out first this week and she was dressed as Ninja Turtle Raphael. Naomi followed her and was dressed up as the Hamburger Helper hand. Wow. Kaitlyn is out third and she’s wearing a dead-on Vickie Guerrero costume complete with padded backside. Out fourth is Maxine and she’s playing the part of “Ice Queen” tonight. And last, but certainly not least, the future Mrs. Goldust walks out and she’s dressed in a fire engine red devil costume. The girls get in the ring and Striker lets us know that elimination is next week and that currently, Naomi is leading the pack with immunity challenge wins. He tells the girls that there is plenty of time left to catch Naomi and even pass her, and with that being said the first competition of the night is about to take place. Of course, it’s a Halloween costume contest. Each girl will have fifteen seconds to impressed the WWE Universe with her costume and the fans will be the judges.

Aksana went first. Music started to play and Aksana really did nothing but blow kisses, pose, and move around a little bit. She didn’t even dance. She probably should have just done her push-ups again. Maxine went next. Striker asked her what her costume was and she told everyone that she was an ice queen. Striker remarked that she could certainly melt that costume, and Maxine looked up at him. She said that she could melt that costume and that she could send shivers down his spine. Maxine asked Matt if he knew what cold water did to a man. She looked away from him and revealed that she would hate to embarrass him so she is going to use the rest of her time to say that there is only one place for this queen, and that place is on top.

SmackDown Redux (October 22nd, 2010): A Prelude To Bragging Rights?

The road to Bragging Rights heats up for the Diva’s tonight as Michelle McCool and Layla take on their opponent for Sunday, Natalya, with her partner, Kelly Kelly, in a tag team match. Since the anti-climatic conclusion of Hell In A Cell earlier this month, the rivalry between Nattie and delicious co-Unified Divas Champions has been picking up steam. For the past few weeks, we’ve watched Nattie come ever so close to locking Layla in the Sharpshooter, only to have Michelle jump in at the last moment and save her BFF. Will the same thing happen tonight? Dun dun duuuuuuuun!

When SmackDown returns from commercial break, Lay-Cool are already in the ring. Despite the fact Halloween is only a week away, Lay-Cool have decided to wrestle in costume tonight. Michelle has donned some nice yet ill-fitting jeans, a Hart T-shirt, and leather jacket. She’s dressed as Bret Hart complete with dark hair and baseball cap. Layla has morphed into a pink and blond haired Natalya. She’s wearing the third-generation Diva’s ring gear and to cap it all off, Layla has added a Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart goatee to the mix.

Random Thoughts: At this point, all I can say is wow. These costumes are pretty hilarious and Lay-Cool are probably the only Divas who would pull off something so evil. I would love to see someone dress up and imitate them one week. Now that would be amazing.

NXT Redux (October 19th, 2010): Cloudy Days on NXT

Previously on NXT…

Fresh off a disaster of an elimination episode, NXT put together it’s most impressive and exciting episode yet. Naomi soared to new heights as she impressed in a match against pro Diva, Alicia Fox. Kaitlyn and Vickie Guerrero reached the point in their relationship where they reluctantly agreed to tolerate one another until the next elimination. AJ proved to everyone that she is a legit wrestling fan by dominating the “Name That Tune” challenge and Maxine continued to impress everyone with her mic skills. The icing on the proverbial NXT cake at the end of the night when Aksana lost it over her immigration woes and Goldust reiterated to her that they do indeed have options to fix these problems. He got down on one knee and popped the question, and Aksana happily accepted it.

So what happens next with the second elimination a mere two weeks away? Lets take a look…

It’s redundant that NXT always begins with Matt Striker introducing the rookies and tonight was no exception. He’s standing in the ring and introducing the rookie girls. Kaitlyn, Aksana, Naomi, AJ, and Maxine make their way to the ring where the host himself is standing. He tells the girls that they’ve made it to the halfway point of the season and that in just two weeks, the second cut will take place. He congratulates Naomi and AJ on their wins last week and tells them that they are one step closer to immunity. He starts to tell the others that they have plenty of time to catch up when Vickie decides that she wants to interrupt. She starts screaming “Excuse Me” and begins to walk down towards the ring. She tells Matt that she just can’t handle the way he talks to the rookie Divas and then she turns her attention towards Kaitlyn. Vickie wants to know why Kaitlyn is dressed the way she is and basically, Vickie does not approve.

WWE Superstars Redux (October 14th, 2010): Divas Own the Night

The show may be called ‘WWE Superstars’ but it was all about the Divas last night, as we saw not one, but two good, solid matches from the Divas of Raw and SmackDown. Furthermore, it’s worth pointing out that both matches are rematches from pay per views that have occurred in recent months and in both cases, I felt the matches were much better than those PPV outings.

First up, we had Kelly Kelly vs Layla in a rematch from July’s Money in the Bank pay per view. Watch below:

We kick off the show with K2 with #1 Contender, Natalya in her corner. Can this be considered the new Blondetourage? (Come back, Skirt Tiffany!) Next out is Lay-Cool and they are referred to as ‘the strongest Diva alliance in WWE history’. That is quite possibly true.

As the bell rings, Layla begins working out in the ring, before screaming “Boo!” in Kelly’s face. If I didn’t find Layla totally adorable & hilarious, that would have been really lame. It’s a good thing you’re cute, Layla. Kelly finally has enough and slaps Layla straight across the face and it’s on! The two Divas tussle, grabbing each other’s hair and back into the ropes as the referee tries to break things up. Layla runs at Kelly going for a kick but Kelly counters into an atomic drop on the co-Unified Divas Champ. K2 then kicks Layla in the back of the knee, taking her down, and goes for a pin but no dice.

Kelly hits another kick, this time to the front and once again, goes for a cover but Layla kicks out. Layla scatters to the side of the ring seeking comfort from Michelle but Kelly is not far behind and begins stomping into Layla’s lower back. Kelly hits a forearm and attempts to whip Layla into the corner, Lay reverses and runs at K2 but gets a boot in the face. Kelly attempts a crossbody from the middle rope but Layla moves out of the way and K2 instead meets the canvas. Ouch! Layla goes for an opportunistic cover but Kelly kicks out.

Layla hits a snapmare followed by a low kick before applying a nice body-scissors. Layla cinches the submission in tightly and even rakes Kelly’s face. K2 fights back however, pulling Layla’s hair. Layla then expertly rolls over into a pin but they roll back over before a 3 count can be made. She goes for the pin again but at two, Kelly manages to break free and goes for a roll up over her own but Layla kicks her off. Layla then hits a low dropkick on Kelly. Lay then begins pulling at Kelly’s hair but gets an overhead kick from Kelly who then begins smashing her head face-first into the canvas.

A fired up Kelly is on her feet now and riles up the crowd to get behind her as she gains momentum with some offense. Kelly whips Layla into the ropes, but Layla manages to hit that impressive cradle pin on Kelly and nearly has the match won but K2 kicks out.

NXT Redux (October 12th, 2010): Thank You Christopher Columbus for Discovering America and Giving Us NXT

Previously on NXT…

The first elimination of the season took place and perhaps the most well known rookie girl, Jamie, was sent packing. Her send-off from the show was filled with dignity and class, and well wishes for the remaining five. Aksana‘s immigration woes took a turn for the worse when it was revealed that she had four weeks to clear up her issues or she would be deported. Maxine took a horrible bump in the ring that may or may not keep her sidelined with a neck issue. And finally, the Kaitlyn/Dolph/Vickie Guerrero love triangle came to a head when Kaitlyn defeated Vickie in a one-on-one match.

How will tonight’s episode play out? Keep watching and find out!

As per usual, the gorgeous Matt Striker is the first person we see when NXT begins. He announces the girls and out comes Maxine, Aksana, Kaitlyn, AJ, and Naomi. They get in the ring and for some reason all of them have air horns in their hands. Striker tells them that the next elimination is three weeks away and as far as challenges go, the slate has been wiped clean. Everyone starts from scratch tonight and the first competition of the evening is going to be Name That Tune. For the first round, thirty seconds of a WWE Superstar theme will play and the first girl to sound their horn will get a chance to answer. In the second round, the points will be doubled.

This competition isn’t really a competition to be honest. AJ basically gets every single theme song right but one. All the other girls stand there and look dumbfounded and AJ even seems a bit embarrassed that she knows every single answer. She scores 1900 out of a possible 2000, with Naomi getting 100 points for an earlier answer. Needless to say, AJ picks up her first challenge win. Striker announces that up next is a rookie versus pro match, with Naomi taking on former Diva’s Champion, Alicia Fox. The show fades to a promo for Chris Jericho’s new DVD.

SmackDown Redux (October 8th, 2010): So Natalya Versus Lay-Cool Isn’t Over?

Previously on WWE television…

Natalya faced off against Michelle McCool, one-half of the self proclaimed co-Diva’s Unified Champions, in a riveting match at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. The third generation Diva defeated the champion by disqualification when Michelle’s partner-in-crime, the vivacious Layla interfered by throwing her shoe. Natalya was left in the ring with a hollow victory and no title to show for it. The next night on Raw, Natalya got a chance to take three seconds of her frustration out on Alicia Fox, and picked up a win, while Lay-Cool fell to defeat thanks to a dastardly twin switch orchestrated by those darn Bella twins! Those events led the majority of us to think that perhaps Lay-Cool versus Natalya was officially over. But maybe it’s not! Tonight, Layla steps inside in the ring against long-time rival, Kelly Kelly. Michelle will be at ringside but guess who will be joining her…

The team of Lay-Cool are the first to enter the ring on this glorious Friday night. Layla is wearing her SmackDown best and Michelle is wearing a T-shirt that has been constructed to say “Flawless Dynasty.” Lay-Cool play to the crowd who thank their lucky stars that the two girls aren’t wearing microphones tonight. Their ring entrance is short lived because pretty soon Kelly and Natalya make their way to the ring. Kelly is supporting her American heritage with a red, white, and blue flag attire and Nattie is dressed in her usual pink and black. Layla and Michelle aren’t so excited to see Kelly and they immediately begin to hold their noses and act like her smell is the worse than the a men’s locker-room after football practice. From the outside of the ring, Michelle gives Layla some last minute instructions and when the bell rings Layla scoots into the ring and locks up with Kelly.

Layla wraps Kelly in a headlock and flips her down to the mat on her back. She goes for a quick cover but Kelly is out after the one count. Both girls scamper to their feet and Kelly goes for Layla and throws her down on the mat. Layla rolls out of the way and gets up, clearly pissed off. She shoves Kelly who takes it like a woman, and then shoves Layla back just a little harder. Kelly attempts to follow it up but Layla kicks her right in the stomach, wrenches the arm, and then follows it up with another kick, this time to the ribs. Kelly tries to hook her arms around Layla’s waist but Layla backs her up to the ropes and nails her with an elbow to the side of the skull. Layla kicks Kelly in the stomach once again and this time the happy-go-lucky blond awkwardly falls through the ropes. Layla distracts the referee and Michelle sneaks up behind Kelly and kicks her again just for the hell of it. That prompts Natalya to come around the ring from the other side. The referee stops her before she can do anything and Layla slides out of the ring to get her opponent. Kelly is tossed back into the ring.

NXT Redux (October 5th, 2010): Jamie Says Goodbye While Aksana Shines

Five weeks of build, anticipation, heart break, and horror culminated last night in the very first elimination for season three of NXT. One poor girl would have her dreams shattered as she is sent packing back to Tampa. Also this week, the Aksana/Goludst angle heats up as an immigration officer rears his ugly head (literally… he has an ugly head) and threatens our favorite Lithuanian. The Rookie Divas try their best to master the art of faux bull riding and of course, a Diva talent show takes place.

Dun dun duuuuuuuuuuun!

This surely gets redundant but once again NXT (now exclusively on WWE.com) kicks off in grandiose fashion with Matt Striker announcing the rookie Divas. Naomi, Aksana, AJ, Jamie, Maxine, and Kaitlyn make their way onto the stage where the Pros (including Alicia Fox, Vickie Guerrero, Kelly Kelly, Brie Bella, and Nikki Bella) are already sitting. Striker teases the girls that this is the biggest night of their young careers. He explains how things are going to work tonight and then brings us into our first rookie challenge of the evening.

It’s a bull riding competition complete with mechanical bull.

SmackDown Redux (October 1st, 2010): Lay-Cool Preview A Natalya Filled Future. They Are Not Amused.

Last week on SmackDown there wasn’t really any Diva action so the Redux took a week off. But this week it’s back. SmackDown officially made its highly anticipated move to the SyFy network and to kick that off the show aired live. The Divas took part in an 8-Diva tag match. The team consisting of Natalya, Kelly Kelly, Brie Bella, and Nikki Bella took on the team of Michelle McCool, Layla, Maryse, and Alicia Fox. Lets take a look at the action!

The heel girls are out first and all of them are looking oh so fierce. Lay-Cool lead the way while Maryse and Alicia trail behind. They do their usual posing in the ring and then the face team come out. They’re led by Natalya. The faces are all decked out pink and black, showing their unity, and once all the shenanigans die down Kelly and Alicia begin the match. Alicia strikes the first blow with a kick to Kelly’s mid-section. She follows it up with a suplex attempt but Kelly wiggles out, slaps Alicia in the back, and both girls take each other down with a clothesline. Alicia holds her head in pain and makes the tag to Maryse. Kelly does the same and goes to her corner where she tags in Natalya.

NXT Redux (September 28th, 2010): The Most Ridiculously Pointless Episode of NXT Ever!

Previously on NXT…

Lay-Cool paid a visit to their old stomping grounds and literally stomped the crap right out of Kaitlyn. AJ continued to roll and secure her status as fan favorite of season three. Naomi gave us all hope that the Diva future is bright when she squared off against Michelle McCool as part of the six-woman tag team match main event. Kelly Kelly went ghetto when she stepped up and challenged Lay-Cool on behalf of Naomi and Jamie. Aksana revealed a huge secret to Goldust about how good her chances were of being deported and how she would get beat with a shovel if she returned home. And the best part of the show, CM Punk stepped up and blessed the WWE Universe with his brilliant commentary.

Will these storylines continue? And more importantly, will Punk keep his promise to remain on commentary?

This week NXT begins in it’s typical fashion. The four pros in attendance (Vickie Guerrero, Alicia Fox, Primo Colon, and Kelly Kelly) are sitting on the stage and the handsome Matt Striker (dressed in an amazing Argyle pullover sweater) introduces the rookies. Aksana, AJ, Kaitlyn, Jamie, Naomi, and Maxine make their way out and Striker says that the competition is now starting to heat up. He announces that Wednesday, starting at noon, the WWE Universe can vote along with the pros for their favorite rookie Diva. Striker makes his way down the ramp while speaking and tells us that being a WWE Diva means you have to have athleticism. He stops in front of a shiny, red wheelbarrow.

Each Diva has to take the wheelbarrow and run around the ring. Whichever Diva has the fastest time will win the competition. The rookie Diva with the most challenge wins will have immunity from next week’s elimination. Maxine is called to the starting line first. She gets ready to take off but that naughty tease in the argyle suggests that the wheelbarrow should have something in it. He takes a shot at Michael Cole in the process.
