30 Influential LGBTQ Wrestlers, June 19: Trish Adora

It is June and that means for the whole month the LGBTQ community get to celebrate extra hard about being ourselves every day! And because of that, every day here throughout the month, we are going to spotlight one LGBTQ+ wrestler. These names are not going to be in any order. So, this won’t be a countdown but more of just a highlight to celebrate.

On June 19, Juneteenth, we are going to celebrate Trish Adora.

Born in Washington D.C., Trish Adora started her training to become a wrestler in 2015 with The Dudley Boyz. She has a history with the U.S. military as a member of the Army for eight years prior to starting her time as a wrestler. She is also openly a member of the LGBTQ community.

Adora worked on the indies to start her career before showing up in promotions such as ROH (prior to AEW’s purchase). In 2020  at F1ght Club, she became the first Pan-Afrikan World Diaspora Wrestling World Champion in a tournament final. A title she held for 1338 days.

Since 2022, Adora has been working with both AEW and ROH. In ROH she has been a member of the stable The Infantry (Carlie Bravo And Shawn Dean) which is a sub group of the Shane Taylor Promotions. She has had several pursuits for gold including taking part in both the ROH Women’s World Title tournament and ROH Women’s TV Title tournament to crown the first champion of each. For the ROH Women’s World Title tournament, she made it to the semi-finals before being defeated by Miranda Alize.

In 2023, Adora has wrestled in Japanese promotions, both TJPW and NJPW. She has challenge Miu Watanabe for the International Princess Title and Giulia for the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title.

Adora gives admiration to WWE Hall of Famer Jacqueline who inspired her to get into wrestling.

Hopefully we see more of Adora in the years to come as she deserves much more success.
