WWE lists the best “good women” who have “gone bad”

WWE has decided to put together a Top 10 list of who they think are the best “good women” who have “gone bad.”

This topic was sparked with the recent events of last week where Bayley seemingly turned on Becky Lynch. We witnessed her siding with her best friend Sasha Banks with a steel chair attack on the RAW Women’s Champion. They would continue their attack on SmackDown, but this time Charlotte Flair would be the victim.

Bayley’s full heel turn remains to be seen as she stated that she is the same person but just having her best friends back. Someone who has always been there for her. The reactions to her “turn” have been mixed.

WWE’s list comprises many women from a few different eras. Let’s see what they have picked

  • 10. Lita betrays Kane
  • 9. Aj Lee costs Cena
  • 8. Becky pummels Charlotte
  • 7. Eve low-blows Ryder
  • 6. Trish kisses Christian
  • 5. Ronda says no more
  • 4. Mickie kicks Trish
  • 3. Sasha’s new attitude
  • 2. Nikki knocks out Brie
  • 1.Bayley gone bad

Who would you put on your list? Discuss your thoughts in the comment section!!

Candice Michelle vs. Melina Vengeance: Night of Champions 06/24/07

Welcome back to another Free Match Friday.

This week in the spirit of Clash of Champions one week from Sunday, we decided to feature Candice Michelle vs. Melina this week. Unlike certain other pay-per-view Night of Champions did keep at least one women’s match on the card. In keeping with the theme of the event, these matches would be for whichever women’s title was active at that time.

In this match, Melina heads in as Women’s Champion. Heading into this match these two women had quite the feud going. Melina was sitting pretty in her second reign with the title. Candice was trying to capture her first.

In the end, after a reverse roundhouse kick, Candice would get the three count and become the new Women’s Champion. This was her first and only women’s title with the company. She would go forward and hold the title for 105-days. She successfully defended her title against Melina at The Great American Bash.

She would then move on to Beth Phoenix and retain against her at Unforgiven. Phoenix would get the better of her however and defeat Candice for the title at No Mercy. That was Phoenix’s first title reign.

Winners & Losers: SmackDown 09/03/19

Women’s wrestling is getting exciting again in WWE. The crowd’s response between last night and tonight have shown that finally, we are moving in the right direction. Bayley kicks off SmackDown Live this week to explain her actions from the night before on RAW. She assisted Banks in the attack on Becky Lynch with a steel chair and many people want to know why. The SmackDown Women’s Champion simply explains that she was having her best friends back.

Banks has been there for Bayley through it all. Bayley will continue to have her back regardless of the circumstances. She proclaims that her purpose is still to build up the women’s division on SmackDown and to prove the kind of champion she is. She wants the SmackDown Title to be just as prominent as Becky Lynch with the RAW Title.

The result is to give new people a shot at her title such as Liv Morgan, Zelina Vega, or even Ember Moon who had a one time chance at SummerSlam. Bayley intends on doing just that after she takes out Charlotte Flair at Clash of Champions one week from Sunday. Turning her attention to Flair, she calls her the most selfish person to which The Queen makes her entrance.

https://twitter.com/tde_wrestling/status/1169041135924387840?s=20

Flair pretends to be shocked by this accusation. She declares that Bayley is quite perceptive and that she is right. Flair is the Queen of Selfishness. The Boss’ music hits and as she makes her way to the ring, Flair attacks Bayley. The number game is too much for The Queen and both Bayley and Banks take turns hitting her with a steel chair.

The match of the night was the Women’s Tag Team Championships vs. Fire & Desire. SURPRISINGLY! Fire & Desire picked up the win. The match culminated when Bliss was about to put away Sonya Deville.

Bliss plants her with a DDT and heads up to the top turnbuckle to deliver Twisted Bliss. On the outside, Mandy Rose and Cross were fighting causing a distraction to Bliss. That was enough time for Deville to get the knees up when Bliss hit her finisher. Rose is tagged in and the duo hit a team finisher. Rose pins Bliss for the win.

Could they have a title match at Clash of Champions now that they picked up a win on the champions?

Winners: Fire & Desire

Picking up a win against the tag champs was huge for this team. The women’s tag titles are one of the few titles not on the Clash of Champions card yet. The way the tag titles have been booked since inception made it predictable that it wouldn’t be on another pay-per-view. However, since Bliss and Cross have been champs the titles have been very visible.

Fire & Desire had a great showing at Elimination Chamber during the inaugural match. Many people thought they could have walked away as the first champs. Although Bliss and Cross probably won’t lose the titles anytime soon, it would be nice to have an actual feud for the titles for a change. Maybe this is a start?

Loser: Charlotte Flair

Out of the women that were on the show this week, Flair definitely came up on the losing end. The double team from Banks and Bayley left her reeling in the ring. Although Flair could very well become a 10-time champion a week from Sunday, tonight wasn’t her night.

If she were to lose at Clash of Champions it would be nice to see Bayley to actually have matches against those wrestlers she keeps mentioning. Especially Liv Morgan.

What were your thoughts of SmackDown this week? Who were your Winners & Losers? Drop a comment below.

Taya Valkyrie makes history and Tenille Dashwood is ready for gold

Taya Valkyrie was one title match away from breaking the record for longest reigning Knockouts Champion in IMPACT Wrestling history.

Everyone waited to hear who her opponent would be in Mexico City. Many thought it would be the newest signee Tenille Dashwood. The champion promised that this would be a big opponent. One that has been on everyone’s lips.

Valkyrie had to defeat none other than Big Mami!

Big Mami is currently signed to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. She is a former AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champion. Although Big Mami tried her best, she was no match for the Knockouts Champion. Valkyrie retained her title and in just two days she will be declared as the longest-reigning champion in Impact history.

After the match, Valkyrie takes to the mic and continues to mock Big Mami. Tenille Dashwood’s music hits and she makes her way out to the ring and goes face to face with the champion. Valkyrie starts yelling at her in Spanish. Dashwood doesn’t waste any time and takes her down to the mat. Johnny Bravo attempts to intervene, but she takes him out as well.

The segment ends with Valkyrie retreating and Dashwood holding up the Knockouts title. The announcers make note that Bound For Glory is just around the corner in October. Could this be Dashwood’s time to finally capture gold?

Lita vs. Trish Stratus vs. Ivory vs. Jacqueline SmackDown 11/02/00

Another Friday, another Free Match.

For this week’s Free Match Friday we go back to 2000!!

This was a fatal four-way for the WWF Women’s Championship. Lita was the champion going in during her first reign. Also in the match were previous champions, Ivory and Jacqueline. Trish Stratus rounded out was the fourth. Ivory was fully placed in a faction known as Right to Censor. Stratus was still freshly new as this was her debut year with the company.

Watch the video above to see all four Hall of Famers compete for the championship. Could Lita hold onto her title?

Could Rhea Ripley be the one to defeat Shayna Baszler?

Shayna Baszler has successfully defeated the majority of the NXT women’s locker room during her time as NXT Women’s Champion. She is just shy of a 300-day reign at the time of this writing and is the only woman to hold this title twice. As of this week’s NXT, she may have met her match.

Credit: WWE

NXT UK’s Rhea Ripley made a shocking appearance on NXT this week. Ripley is the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Champion. She lost the title to Toni Storm in January and it is clear she has the NXT Women’s Championship in her sights next. Baszler was in the ring accompanied by her Horsewomen, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke when Ripley’s music hit.

Before Baszler is even able to get out a single word, Ripley makes her way to the ring. Once she enters the ring and is face to face with the NXT Women’s Champion she snatches the microphone out of her hand.

Ripley says, “I know what you’re gonna say. You’re gonna say that you have beaten everyone here. But you haven’t beaten me, bitch!”

This causes all three Horsewomen to leave the ring after Baszler and Ripley exchange some words.

The only woman that has successfully beaten Baszler for the title was Kairi Sane. Sane only held the title for a little over two months prior to Baszler winning it for the second time.

Many fans are ready for Baszler to drop the title. As a matter of fact, many feel like it is overdue. She has been accused of holding the title hostage as she beats competitor after competitor all resulting in the same ending. Could Ripley be the one to finally beat her?

Credit: WWE

If she were to defeat her, Ripley would be the first woman to hold both the NXT UK and NXT Women’s Championships.

At this time it hasn’t been confirmed if this will be a one-off type of feud or if Ripley will officially be moved to the NXT brand. Some feel that Ripley’s NXT UK Championship reign was mishandled. She won the title prior to it being shown on the WWE Network. As a result, her recognized days as champion is way less than her actual time holding the belt. Her match at Evolution was also removed due to the fact that it hadn’t aired that she was the champion yet.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think bringing over an NXT UK talent is the best thing for the NXT division at this time? Will it be more believable if Ripley wins the title as opposed to giving Mia Yim, Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, etc. another try?

Discuss your thoughts on the state of the NXT Women’s Championship picture in the comment section!

Winners & Losers: RAW 08/26/19

Monday Night RAW kicked things off the right way this week and that was with the women on our television screens. More importantly, RAW kicked off with The Boss, Sasha Banks and boy did she have a lot to say.

She starts off the segment saying that everyone wants to know why and where Sasha Banks has been. Being gone for four months she has minded her own business and hasn’t talked to anyone yet all she hears is her name coming out of peoples mouths.

After the crowd chants for Becky Lynch, Sasha goes down the list.

“How Sasha Banks threw a fit….I did.”

“How Sasha Banks was seen crying at WrestleMania at the locker room floor…I did.”

“How Sasha Banks took her ball and went home…ya damn right I did.”

https://twitter.com/tde_wrestling/status/1166140541941235712?s=20

She then stated that all of these reasons were because she was regulated at WrestleMania to a tag team title match that she cared nothing about. This happening while Becky Lynch was main eventing with Ronda Rousey. As a result, Banks went on vacation with the lesser paycheck from WrestleMania as opposed to what Lynch made by main eventing.

Banks explained that she came back and picked the right person to target, Natalya. After fake caring about Natalya’s tearful remembrance of her father, Banks chose the perfect time to attack. Lynch came out at that moment to try and help Natalya, but we all see the beating that she took as a result.

And why? For Sasha to be the center of attention. She states that she is the standard of the women’s division, she is the talk of the women’s division, and she has been since day one.

Natalya’s music then hits and she makes a bee-line to the ring and the two get into a brawl. Natalya throwing Sasha into the steel steps. Sasha grabbing hold of Natalya’s hair. The two continue to go at each other as the crowd chants “let them fight” as the officials try to pull them apart.

Two matches were scheduled this week on the red brand. Sasha Banks vs. Natalya to happen later in the night and first was Bayley vs. Nikki Cross.

The match between Bayley and Cross was said to be from the disrespect that the SmackDown Women’s Champion showed to Alexa Bliss on A Moment of Bliss. Cross was attempting to avenge Bliss’ honor from this match. This match was honestly not needed.

With Bayley moving on to Charlotte Flair, it is unsure why Bliss and Cross are still feuding with her. This time could have been literally any other RAW women’s talent instead. With that being said, It was a solid showing by both women at a decent length. Cross focused on the midsection of Bayley throughout the match. Bayley picked up the win as she executed an elbow from the top rope to get the pin.

https://twitter.com/tde_wrestling/status/1166158327497277440?s=20

Natalya facing Sasha Banks was also a nice showing for the few minutes they had. Both ladies showed offense throughout. Nattie took control first as she comes at Banks fast. The action spilled to the outside. She drives Banks into the barricade. As they get back into the ring, she follows up with a huge suplex.

Banks ends up taking control and focuses on Natalya’s injured arm by using the ring post. She then tosses her into the ring announcer area. Back in the ring, Natalya attempts to lock in the Sharpshooter but Banks counters and hits the backstabber into the Bank Statement. Nattie tries to hang in, but with having an injured arm she tapped out.

After the match Banks enters the ring again and applies another Bank Statement.

Winner: Sasha Banks

Banks continues to make it on the winner list since her return just a few weeks ago. She cut a great promo to start RAW. Going over the checklist of everything, people had been saying about her since she has been gone was done perfectly. She even delivered a nasty blow to the tag team titles. Her match could have been a few extra minutes, but it was good for what they gave them.

Her continuing to face Natalya isn’t a bad thing. It will most likely still be Lynch vs. Banks at Clash of Champions, but the use of Nattie until then is a good way to keep the two apart for the time being.

Winner: Natalya

Sure, Natalya was the loser this week of her match, but she did a great job throughout the night. The brawl at the beginning was great, her offense against Banks during the match was solid. She had a nice showing regardless of the outcome of her match.

She has been doing a great job since her run with Becky Lynch leading up to SummerSlam.

Loser: Nikki Cross

There really was no point to have Cross face Bayley on RAW or at all at this point. The whole thing really doesn’t make sense. Their feud is over and done with, so can we all just move on? If they actually had her pick up a win against Bayley then that would have at least been something. Bayley could be considered on the loser list as well, but she at least won the match.

Maybe instead of using the SmackDown Women’s Champion on RAW, they could have the Sarah Logan and Dana Brooke feud from Main Event be used? They must be tired of facing for the tenth time on a show no one watches.

Let’s hope that this week’s SmackDown will at least get a women’s match. Last week we were highly gipped.

New cast members officially announced for Total Divas

As reported yesterday, the Total Divas Twitter account confirmed that three new cast members will be joining the show for season nine. At that time they did not disclose who this would be amidst rumors that have been circulating for months. E! News has officially announced who these three ladies will be along with a start date.

Carmella, Ronda Rousey, and Sonya Deville have been confirmed and are joining the main cast. Carmella previously was featured on the show during its seventh season. This will be the first time both Deville and Rousey have been featured as part of the main cast.

Featured on the show will be Rousey showing a different side of her. She will be showing her life with her husband, and working on her ranch.

Natalya will be mourning the death of her beloved father, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart as she takes things one day at a time. During the time of filming, she focuses on the Royal Rumble.

Nia Jax is feeling confident with her win in the Battle Royal from Evolution but is caught off guard when she realizes who her next opponent is.

Carmella’s feature is her recent break-up and trying to focus on her career. With this, she receives negativity while trying to balance both her friends and a romantic relationship.

Naomi focuses on the Royal Rumble and enjoys the company of Sonya and Carmella on the road.

Sonya continues to show her pride as WWE’s first openly gay woman. She is ready for a serious relationship and also wants to be taken more seriously in the ring. An opportunity presented itself for her to move to Tampa, Fla. only after settling into her new home in Ft. Lauderdale.

The Bella Twins were originally slated to not appear on this season, however, they are now being listed as guests. Their spin-off show, Total Bellas, will be back later with another season.

Melina vs. Michelle McCool Women’s Title Match SmackDown 10/02/09

Happy Friday!! Welcome back to your Free Match Friday of the week.

This week we have Michelle McCool defending her Women’s Championship against Melina. Some backstory to this match is that McCool had defeated Melina for the title at The Bash pay-per-view. That took place in June of that year. This title reign for McCool was her first. Melina was a three-time champion heading into this match.

On this episode of SmackDown, a Lumberjill match took place with many Divas surrounding the ring. Was Melina able to capture another title or did McCool retain? Check out the video above to find out!

Winners & Losers: RAW 08/19/19

Prior to RAW beginning this week it was advertised that Sasha Banks would be interviewed on The King’s Court. Her actions from her return last week were in question. Why did she return and destroy both Natalya and Becky Lynch? This interview originally to be done by Jerry “The King” Lawler never got underway. Lawler was attacked by The Fiend with the mandible claw prior to Banks coming out.

As a result of Lawler being out for the rest of the show, Banks was interviewed later in the show by Michael Cole. Prior to this, Becky Lynch did have something to say from earlier in the day. The RAW Women’s Champion explains that she wants the best of the best to come for her. At this moment she agrees it is Sasha Banks.

Lynch wants whoever comes for her title to be at the top of their game and at their peak. Lynch continues to mock The Boss for running away from WWE for the past four months. The Man questions why all of a sudden is Banks red hot when she has done absolutely nothing. She credits herself for this.

https://twitter.com/tde_wrestling/status/1163610063736647680?s=20

According to the champ, it took her to release the real Sasha Banks. She reminds her that she told her that this was a cat and mouse game. Once she does get her she promises that she will give her something to run home and cry about.

Later on, when Banks finally has her interview with Cole, he asks her to explain her actions from last week. She explains that she looked in the mirror last week and she told herself that blue is her color. As opposed to answering Cole about her attack on Natalya and Becky Lynch she focused on her change of hair color instead.

Cole responds to her avoiding the obvious question with a snarky comment that no one cares about her hair. He reiterated that everyone wants to know why she attacked her friend Natalya and a woman she grew up with through this business, Lynch. Banks had just two words to say, “You’re welcome.”

The only women’s match of the night came up next which was a tag match. The match was solid as Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose did their best to try and take out the tag champs. Deville’s quickness in the match was a highlight. This wasn’t enough as Nikki Cross cut her down in the end.

Unfortunately for Fire & Desire, they came up short. Cross hit the cross neck breaker to get the pin. Although RAW could easily have had more than one match with literally anyone else on the roster (or even SmackDown‘s roster), we only get one, again.

The last segment of the night involved Natalya backstage with her arm still in a sling. She states she just came back from WWE’s doctors. Between battling Becky Lynch for the RAW Women’s Title at SummerSlam and having the one year anniversary of her Dad’s passing, she knew it was going to be an emotional week.

What she didn’t expect was for her now-former friend Sasha Banks to attack her. As she continues to describe how she feels from the attack, Banks attacks her again. She is able to get Nattie’s injured arm into an open drawer from one of the equipment containers. She slams Nattie’s arm in the drawer and states, “Go to hell Nattie and tell your Daddy I said Hi.”

Let’s go over the Winners and Losers of the night.

Winner: Nikki Cross

Cross picked up the win for her team tonight which propels her to the winner’s list this week. She hasn’t been the one on her team to pick up the pins since winning the tag titles so it was nice to see this. Cross is growing well on the main roster.

Winner: Sasha Banks

Banks continued to deliver her savagery this week. She kept her reasonings to herself on why she performed the attacks last week. Her attack on Natalya, although not as severe as last week, still kept last weeks momentum going. The clear picture is going to be Banks vs. Becky Lynch, but still including Natalya in the equation is interesting.

Losers: Fire & Desire

Fire & Desire wind up on the loser list purely because they lost their match this week. With the lack of women on the show again there are only so many options. Since there aren’t many teams to pick from it is possible that they will still receive a title shot in the future.

What did you think of this week’s RAW? Who were your Winners & Losers from this week?

Check back in with Diva Dirt for SmackDown’s Winners & Losers.

Victoria & Nidia vs. Molly Holly & Jazz, Heat 08/01/04

Happy Friday! This week’s Free Match Friday takes us all the way back to 2004!!

This match was featured on Sunday Night Heat. For newer WWE fans who don’t know, Heat was a show that came on Sunday nights for an hour. It was also the go-to to watch before pay-per-views at the time.

Molly Holly sported a wig during this encounter thanks to Victoria just months before shaving her head after their WrestleMania match. There were three former Women’s Champions in this match and although Nidia never won the title, she probably should have.

Click the video above to watch what happens at the end of this match. There is a distraction that ends up costing one team the win.

Check back in next Friday for the next Free Match Friday!

Ring The Belle discusses potential Evolution 2 predictions

DS Shin and Paloma Starr of Ring The Belle discuss on their show this week the possibility of Evolution 2 still being talked about.

As the year continues to fly by there is less and less chance that a second annual all women’s pay-per-view is going to happen. For at least this year. It was announced last year in July and took place in October. July has come and gone, but there is still a slight chance it could still happen in October.

WWE has their Hell in the Cell event scheduled for Oct. 6 and then Survivor Series on Nov. 24. In the middle is Crown Jewel on Oct. 31. As we all know, women are not permitted during the Saudi Arabia event so there will be a large seven-week gap between events that the women will not be featured.

From an anonymous source to Tom Colohue via Sportskeeda the following was said about a potential Evolution 2.

“Talks never really ended but they were always brief. Some people were fiercely for it but the logistics didn’t iron out. Things are looking very different now. People higher up are starting to listen.”

DS and Paloma speak on rumors why originally Evolution wouldn’t happen again this year. Many people were saying that big names such as Ronda Rousey and The Bella Twins being out hindered the chance. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch was a fan favorite over Rousey vs. Nikki Bella so that opinion could be argued. Now with Sasha Banks back in the fold and Trish Stratus vs. Charlotte Flair being a hit from SummerSlam, it is turning some heads.

Credit: WWE

Possibilities for Evolution 2 could be Brie Bella and Lita receiving retirement matches just as Trish just did. The thing with Lita is that the retirement match she had didn’t pan out so well for her. She came out on the losing end against Mickie James. That match took place at Survivor Series and Lita lost her title.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Trish won her original retirement match against Lita where she became a seven-time champion. Of course, both Hall of Famers have had a few matches since those retirement matches but maybe Lita winning her “final” retirement match could make everything come full circle.

Credit: WWE

DS and Paloma discuss potential opponents for both Brie and Lita. For Brie such names as Ember Moon, Asuka, Liv Morgan, Alicia Fox or even Maryse. For Lita big names such as Becky Lynch and Asuka were discussed.

Would you be interested to see Brie Bella and Lita get retirement matches as Trish had? Do you think what Lita has already done is enough or does she need some retribution to go out on top? Discuss your thoughts in the comment section below.

Alundra Blayze vs. Bull Nakano SummerSlam 08/29/94

WWE 2K20 video released featuring Becky Lynch *Updated*

Update: WWE has confirmed that Becky Lynch will be on the cover of 2K20 along with Roman Reigns.

WWE is planning to announce their next yearly video game 2K installment tomorrow on Aug. 5. A video has leaked a day before which may allude that Becky Lynch will be featured on the cover of the new game.

In the video, we see several WWE male superstars both past and present hobnobbing at a fancy party. The party comes to a halt as ‘The Man’ herself Becky Lynch comes crashing through the glass ceiling. Lynch approaches Hulk Hogan and says, “sorry about your ceiling.”

Roman Reigns then enters and hands Lynch a drink and says, “nice work man,” and the two share in a clink of their glasses.

The video ends with both Reigns and Lynch as the focal point. This could reference that both will be featured on the cover in some capacity. They could be either featured together or perhaps there will be two different covers.

Lynch recently spoke with Vicente Beltrán from ViBe & Wrestling about the possibility of being on a 2K cover. Reported by Wrestling Inc. she had the following to say,

“[Being on the cover of WWE 2K20] would be the next step, wouldn’t it? Yeah it’s always about the next step and it’s always about being the first,” Lynch said. “‘The Man’ is synonymous with the first: the first main event of WrestleMania, the first main event of SmackDown, in the first women’s ladder match, in the first Royal Rumble, first SmackDown Live Women’s Champion. It’s all about being the first, so being the first woman on the cover of 2K20 would be awesome.”

If Lynch is confirmed to be on the cover of 2K20 this will be the first time a woman has graced the cover of a 2K cover. The 2K line has been present since 2K14 which was released in 2013. Women have been on prior video games along with their male counterparts. There hasn’t been a woman on a cover since 2007. That cover saw Torrie Wilson along with Triple H, Batista, Rey Mysterio, and John Cena.

Check back in with Diva Dirt for further updates on 2K20.

Beth Phoenix on the restrictions that were on the Diva’s division

Ring The Belle receives a once in a lifetime interview with the Glamazon herself Beth Phoenix. The four-time champion and Hall of Famer sat down with DS Shin to go over the fan-voted top five moments. During these moments she goes over her feuds with Candice Michelle, Kelly Kelly, and Melina. She also discusses the wonderful friendship she has developed with Natalya.

Phoenix was a focal point during the Diva era of WWE. This time was filled with many obstacles and restrictions for the women to receive matches and to be taken seriously on TV. She explains how she made it around those obstacles and restrictions during that time.

“We just tried our best to work within our comfort zones. We had to do things that weren’t great. I had to do bikini shoots. I had to do bra and panties matches. I had to do a lot of stuff I didn’t love and didn’t want to do. But I knew at the end, I’m here to entertain and make people happy. And I knew it would change. I knew in my heart, someday if we don’t give up, it’s gonna change. And it has.”

As a result of how far women have come in the WWE, Phoenix recalls her tearful reaction to the first crowning of the Women’s Tag Team Championship.

“That was so special. It did mean a lot to me because the girls felt as passionately as myself and Nattie. It wasn’t always nice. It was always a battle. It was always a fight. Every week you knew it was gonna be a fight. So I appreciated that the girls continued to fight and they got a win. That felt like a win.”

As a result of the fans picking her match against Eve at Survivor Series as a top moment, Phoenix divulges some juicy details about that match. Most particularly her memorable Super Glam Slam spot on Eve.

“It was Madison Square Garden. The same place where Bret vs. Owen took place, which is the match that inspired me to become a wrestler. And also, this particular move, we weren’t supposed to do in the match. This is pipebomb, but we were not supposed to do that move. Eve and I were like, we’ll take the flack. Whatever flack comes from this spot, they were concerned of the danger aspect, it was too dangerous, which I get that. But Eve and I knew that that would be the moment from the match. This is what it will take to make the match memorable, and we’re in Madison Square Garden….We took a risk, and we believed in ourselves. Obviously, fans remember it.”

Phoenix also comments on the wild feud that has been happening between both her husband, Edge, and RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch on Twitter. From this, she explains her thoughts on her bestie Natalya facing Lynch at SummerSlam.

“I’m looking so forward to Becky and Natalya at SummerSlam. My best friend against somebody that I feel has changed the business. So I am really excited for SummerSlam.”

Team P.C.B. vs. Team B.A.D. vs. Team Bella, SummerSlam 08/23/15

Happy Friday!

With SummerSlam around the corner let’s go back a few years to when Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch were fresh on the main roster.

After these three Horsewomen came up to the man roster, they formed teams with current main roster stars. Lynch and Flair teamed up with Paige in order to form Team P.C.B. Banks joined Naomi and Tamina in Team B.A.D.

Some may say that these teams forming was the start of the Divas Revolution. Others may same it started a little bit later. Regardless of where and who you find started the revolution/evolution, this match is definitely one that will be remembered by women’s wrestling fans.

You may click on the video above in order to see which team came out on top from this SummerSlam match.

Brandi Rhodes talks on Scarlett Bordeaux possibly in AEW

AEW is in full swing with their pay-per-view schedule and their TV deal starting this fall. Many eyes are on the building of their roster. Scarlett Bordeaux was released from her IMPACT Wrestling contract just last month. As a result, it is natural to think of where she could perform next and AEW is a viable option.

Brandi Rhodes faced Allie in a match this weekend at Flight for the Fallen and walked away with a win. In a post-event media discussion, Rhodes spoke about her partnering with Awesome Kong, winning her match, and Aja Kong’s appearance.

She was asked by Wrestling Inc. if Scarlett Bordeaux’s name is on the table to join AEW now that she is a free agent.

“I like Scarlett, I think she’s a great competitor,” Rhodes responded. “I think it’s very important with our division—because a lot of our girls are newer, a lot of people maybe don’t have such name recognition. I mean, even with me, I’ve been in the business for a long time, but not as a wrestler. So, it’s very important that everybody gets their moments and their time so that people can get to know some of these girls.”

She continues, “Any sports industry you want to know the athletes, that’s part of why people come and watch the Jacksonville Jaguars because they know the players, they know their history, they know about their families. We want to be able to do that with the girls, so I don’t want so many girls that we can’t do that. If you don’t see a face, yet, it’s always just a ‘yet,’ that doesn’t mean that the doors are closed to anyone. It’s just a matter of making sure we build this division correctly and that everybody gets a fair shake at presenting themselves.”

Rhodes is planning to focus on the names she does have to build up the AEW’s women’s roster. She stresses that just because a name hasn’t been announced by the company just yet doesn’t mean they won’t be included in the future.

She recently made the announcement that the Women’s World Championship will be unveiled at their next pay-per-view event All Out.

Thank you to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription.

EVOLVE Wrestling is hosting their 10th Anniversary Celebration (also known as EVOLVE 131) this weekend on July 13. This will be the first time that EVOLVE and any independent promotion will be aired on the WWE Network.

Since 2015, the promotion has formed a partnership with WWE. Here they are allowed to scout talent for their NXT brand.

The match will be Shotzi Blackheart vs. Brandi Lauren. Blackheart is the current Shine Nova Champion. These two competitors met at EVOLVE 129 where the match ended in a no contest. The video above is from their prior encounter.

Slammiversary Results, Taya Valkyrie retains Knockouts Title

IMPACT Wrestling’s yearly pay-per-view event Slammiversary took place today. Taya Valkyrie emerged still as your Knockouts Champion. After a brutal four-way Monster’s Ball match involving Havok, Su Yung, and Rosemary, the champion raised her title in victory.

The match didn’t take long to bring out the weapons and start producing some hardcore action. Chairs, trashcans, and other objects are brought into the match. Yung and Havok attempt to keep their partnership going by teaming up throughout the first half of the bout. This teamwork ends later when Yung applies the mandible claw on Havok on several occasions.

Heavier artillery in the form of a ladder is then introduced into the match. Valkyrie, Rosemary, and Yung take a suplex spot on Havok who was laying on the ladder in the middle of the ring.

Rosemary brings in a bag of thumbtacks. Bringing the tacks into the match backfires on Rosemary as Valkyrie takes advantage and stomps her face-first into them.

A table was then set up outside the ring. Valkyrie sends herself and Rosemary through the table from the ring apron. The thumbtacks weren’t finished with quite yet. Havok hits a massive tombstone on Yung from the ropes onto the tacks. Havok went for the pin, but the champion hits her with a chair and takes the pin on Yung to retain the Knockouts Championship.

In the main event of the evening, Tessa Blanchard earned this moment in her intergender match with Sami Callihan. This feud has received a tremendous build-up and has become quite personal between the two. It being placed in the main event is well deserved. The crowd was firmly behind Blanchard throughout the match.

Some highlights of the match include the following:

  • Blanchard is powerbombed on the ring apron
  • On the ramp, Callihan attempts another powerbomb but she counters and hits a cutter.
  • He attempts a piledriver, but Blanchard counters and hits a DDT for a two count
  • Blanchard back elbows the referee knocking him out. Callihan grabs his bat and hits her with it. Receives a two count as a result of a second referee and then he attacks him.
  • She ends up spitting in his face and delivers a low blow when he attempts to hit her again with the bat. She gets a bat of her own and hits him.
  • Blanchard hits Magnum from the top rope for a count of two. She turns it over into a crossface where Callihan almost taps. He counters and hits a package piledriver where she kicks out.
  • He hits a second piledriver and picks up the win.

After the match, Callihan looked like he was going to attack her with one of the bats again. Instead, he hands her one of the bats and heads to the back.

What did you think of these matches from Slammiversary? Did you want to see Taya Valkyrie retain? Should Tessa Blanchard have won her match? Discuss your opinions in the comment section!!

Mixed tag team match announced for RAW

It was officially announced earlier today via Twitter by WWE that there will be a mixed tag team match on RAW this Monday. It will feature the RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch teaming with the Universal Champion Seth Rollins. They will face the team of Zelina Vega and Andrade.

The match was originally teased in a WWE Exclusive after SmackDown this week as seen above. Zelina Vega and Andrade challenged the champs to a mixed tag team match.

This past week on RAW, Maria Kanellis and her husband Mike faced off against the power couple. The match didn’t go quite according to plan as Maria announced her pregnancy which made Lynch back off.

Vega promises that unlike Maria she is not pregnant so she will not be running away from Lynch. She made a guarantee that once she is finished with the champ that she will not be wrestling anymore.

What are your thoughts about this upcoming match? Would you rather have Zelina Vega/Andrade in the title picture instead of Lacey Evans/Baron Corbin? Share your thoughts in the comment section!!
