No, your eyes are not deceiving you — a second breast implant has been ruptured, this time belonging to Gail Kim, reports the Wrestling Observer. The former Women’s Champion, whose disappearance from Raw has led to a whirlwind of speculation, ruptured her implant at a house show last month. As reported, Divas Champion Mickie James … Read more
Going into last night’s Hell in a Cell pay per view, it didn’t seem like there was much expectation from the Divas Championship match. Considering the last time the Raw Divas were on pay per view, you can’t exactly blame fans for not caring too much about it. Plus WWE always has a tendency to … Read more
In order to consolidate our Eye Candy coverage, we’ve developed a new feature: Unwrapped! We’ll take all the new photoshoots from the week and grade (or “brand”) each based on the following criteria:
• Appearance(hair, clothes, makeup.. you get the drift)
• Poses(are they versatile or just glorified statues?)
• Uniqueness(have we seen this photoshoot a billion times before?) Grading scale: Sweet (Great)/Bland (Iffy)/Sour (Awful)
Brie & Nikki Bella‘s Double Vision Appearance: Nikki’s wearing the top that every Diva seems to own/share, and she wears it quite well, pairing it with some white jeans. Brie has on a black knitted dress with a funky headband that Mischa Barton and girls in Urban Outfitters catalogs wear. I’m not fond of it on them, and I don’t really like it on her. That, along with the peace sign necklace, makes the whole thing look like a contrived hippy outfit, which for the Bellas has become par for the course–that is to say that a lot of their looks seem way too planned out and end up looking like costumes. Take a look back at their past few shoots, you’ll see what I mean. They’re both wearing killer heels, though.. Poses: This is some high contrast, black and white photoshoot that I assume is meant to be grungy, hence the tanks. It’s kind of silly looking, but the Bellas keep it fun, tossing up peace and “rock” signs. It’s when they put on sexy face that hey look like extras in a bad 80s music video. I say lose the props, and let them have fun. Uniqueness: It’s certainly unique, but not for good reason. Grade: Bland. It’s strange, but the Bellas don’t seem to have such great chemistry together, at least in this shoot. They just aren’t clicking.

Eve Torres‘s SmackDown Stunner Appearance: Eve’s top and shoes look great, both in black. It’s when we venture beyond that that things get a little iffy. The skirt, in black and white plaid, looks a little bulky. I’m not against volume, but it looks bunched up and messy. I’m also not fond of the updo–it looks hastily pinned up, like she’s about to do housework instead of pose in a photoshoot. I’d much prefer if it was in a nice bun or something just a little neater.. Poses: The colors in the room are gorgeous–they just make the photoshoot pop, especially since Eve’s wearing neutral colors. She uses her surroundings to her advantage, sitting and standing on the seat. Sure, it looks a bit awkward, but Eve makes it look almost theatrical. I’m kind of mystified, though, at the fact that her face tends to freeze in a few photos. Uniqueness: The colors mystify me, and I can’t recall too many photoshoots where the surroundings caught my attention this much. Of course, that’s not meant to insult you, Eve.. You look pretty too. Grade: Sweet. Although the skirt and hair aren’t as fab as can be, Eve still looks pretty sweet to me.

Melina‘s Spanish Rose Appearance: Melina’s wearign an immense ethnic top in a bright bright shade of orange. It’s pretty, but it kind of clashes with the jeans. Not color-wise, of course, but in style. They just don’t seem to fit together. Maybe if the jeans were in a darker wash, it’d work better. The feathery thing hanging from her neck doesn’t look as fashion-forward as it does like a scalp prop from Inglourious Basterds. I must say though, with the Spanish surroundings, the orange looks great. In one shot, where the top drape forward and hide the jeans, it looks like a gorgeous maxi dress. I kind of wish it was one. Poses: Melina took full advantage of the overseas tour, posingin lush Spanish surroundings. The foutains and statues look absolutely gorgeous, and she doesn’t look too bad herself. Her facial expressions are reserved and simple, but look pretty sexy, not catatonic. I’m absolutely in love with the gate she poses in front of–so pretty! Uniqueness: A photoshoot that looks like it was taken while the Diva was hosting a travle show? Nope, don’t see that every day.. Grade: Sweet. See? All one needs to garner a “Sweet” grade for a photoshoot is fly cross-country and pose in some pretty scenery. Easy as pie, right?

The near decade long No Mercy tradition has been dropped this year in favour of a new pay per view concept, Hell in a Cell. For the first time tonight, the Divas Championship will be defended at the early October pay per view when Alicia Fox challenges Mickie James. But let us go ‘through the years’ of this pay per view:
1999 The Fabulous Moolah vs Ivory
In 1999, the legendary Fabulous Moolah returned to the ring for one last run, feuding with then Women’s Champion Ivory. At the inaugural No Mercy in 1999, Moolah did the unthinkable — winning the Women’s Championship at the age of 76.
Chyna vs Jeff Jarrett
Later that night, more history was made when Chyna became the first woman to hold the Intercontinental Championship, defeating Jeff Jarrett in a Good Housekeeping Match.
Welcome to the Diva Dirt Style Jury! No more are the separate ‘Best’ and ‘Worst’ lists, instead we have come up with a scientific approach *cough* to compiling our weekly fashion column. The Diva Dirt team will weigh in on the different looks from the week gone by & mark each look with a score out of ten. The look with the highest average score will be our best look and the look with the lowest average score will be the worst look. Click each photo to see the look in full size.
Let the proverbial runway show begin!
ALICIA FOX #1 Erin: It’s sexy without being skin tight, and I like that. The off-the-shoulder look works well on her. I love her hair too. I have to say, she probably has some of the best “street wear” style of all the Divas. Most end up looking like street walkers (see Friday’s SmackDown), but she doesn’t–not at all. 8/10 Melanie: Another solid black look from Alicia after her killer outfit last week. With the Beyonce-licious legs she has, she should show them off more! 8/10 Steven: Love this look on Alicia. The shorts really show off her killer legs and the chain on the side is a nice touch. Not sure how I feel about the top half though… 7/10 Tiffany: Alicia proved once again that she looks good in black (as most Divas do). It was an acceptable outfit for ringside attire. I’m just not a fan of loose-fitting wear that makes women appear larger than they really are. Though, she pretty much rocked it either way. 8/10
ALICIA FOX #2 Erin: This one isn’t as flattering as the last one, but I like that she’s trying different styles with the one-pieces. It’s just too busy and sparkly for my taste. 5/10 Melanie: I am not a huge fan of rompers so this doesn’t work entirely for me. That said, I love that she’s showing off her legs more and she looks utterly confident in all of her fashion choices. 5/10 Steven: Have I mentioned how much I hate animal print? Similar to her outfit on Raw, but not nearly as cute. The billowy top does nothing for her figure and I can’t stand the shoestring headband. 4/10 Tiffany: I didn’t quite understand Alicia’s choice on SmackDown. I can’t quite explain it, but it is certainly a step down from her Raw outfit. The pattern and style just don’t do it for me. 6/10
THE BELLA TWINS Erin: I think they’re cute, and the all-over lace doesn’t look as trashy when it’s in such a pretty color. The cut out back is sexy too, and the fact that the neckline is so high balances out the skin exposure. Though, it’s probably too flashy of an outfit for both of them to wear at once without looking silly. 7/10 Melanie: I really love this look, the dresses are so cute and you can’t see it in the picture, but they are also backless which makes it even more stylish. 7/10 Steven: Something about these dresses rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it’s the high neckline, or perhaps the lacey material. I do love the color though. 6/10 Tiffany: Blending in with the color of your outfit is not a good look. Seriously, do they have to match…all the time? They’re twins; we get it. 5/10
BETH PHOENIX Erin: It’s probably tough for Beth to find street clothes that don’t clash against her tough girl persona, so she’s stuck with denim and leather. I don’t hate the look, but she could have done better. Just because you’re tough doesn’t mean you automatically have to look like you just blew in on a motorcycle–not that there’s anything wrong with that. 6/10 Melanie: Not loving it. There’s something about the vest top that looks kind of ‘butch’, I would’ve like to see something that puts the glamorous in Glamazon. 4/10 Steven: I find that Beth looks her best when in casual gear and this is no exception. Feeling the belt, but the vest is a little too ‘biker chick’ for me. 8/10 Tiffany: Beth looked more biker chick than ‘chic.’ She seems to be bursting out her top, and the jeans are not flattering. Not her best. Her last backstage outfit attempt was much better. 6/10

I had been stumped as to what to write about this week. I’m one of those people who have to be ‘inspired’ in order to speak or write in this case. I guess I feel like if what I have to say isn’t interesting or if I can’t be passionate while writing, then it’s just best to sit back on my pink aura lol (insert joke here) and simmer. But alas, something came to me tonight; I felt fidgety like I needed to talk but couldn’t tell if, maybe, it was just the full moon coming this week that’s throwing off my balance or what the reason for my restlessness was. And then it came to me… this week in the ‘Fair’, I’m gonna discuss heroes in the wrestling business.
When I started out many years ago, I was a bright eyed, naive, sheltered teenager eager to jump feet first into the world of pro wrestling. Being a North Carolinian, I grew up knowing the names of Ric Flair (fave wrestler ever), Ricky Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes and many others. With Crockett Promotions taking place practically in my backyard I couldn’t help but be educated. I would not have called myself a fan, however. My quite ‘southern’ father, an avid fisherman, hunter and ‘rassling’ fan made sure to keep me updated though on all that was professional wrestling. He would turn on wrestling every Saturday morning and make me watch Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. Repeating to me weekend after weekend: “Kristin, you’re gonna grow up and be a rassler. You’re just as strong and as pretty as those girls.” I would always retort in my prissy way: “No I’m NOT gonna be one of those girls Daddy! I am a lady!” I couldn’t have been more than ten years old at the time, but my father had just predicted my future. Well to a point. Becoming a wrestler did become part of my path and I’d like to think I remained a lady while doing so. But we are talking about heroes right? I guess in the GLOW era it would’ve been Tina Ferrari but Barbie was my first love, not that you can tell that by looking at me (wink wink). As I grew up, the Saturday morning tradition faded however it apparently stayed with me through at least my late-teens when I decided to give up my budding modeling career and pursue wrestling. Hey, if Trish could do it, so could I! Here was a girl who looked like a Barbie (my first love) but was a wrestler. I thought back to my father’s words… he was right! And I had found the person who would become my guide… or so I thought.
Ahh, silly, clueless, overzealous Krissy Vaine. I jumped in and I moved up. I had a drive and a determination. It was calling to me and I knew it. Great things would lie ahead, hard work and dedication would get me to the big show! I just knew Vince would be calling me at any minute. No one on the independent circuit looked like me and I knew it. The ball was in my court. Five years into my venture I received the call. I was brought in for my first tryout…

Four of the TNA Knockouts took part in the latest episode of TNA’s Spin Cycle hosted by the ever annoying Jeremy Borash. Last time on SmackDown Superstars: The dynamic duo of Michelle and Layla defeated the not-so-dynamic team of Maria and Melina. Maria played rag doll and Melina wasn’t there to save her from interference from Michelle, so the loss only served to push the former friends ever further apart.
This week: Are we going to see a blow-up anytime soon, or will this simmer longer? Are we in for more skits, or will this 10th Anniversary special be more wrestling-based, with the drama reserved for a less prestigious event?
Justin Roberts tell us that this is a Lumberjack match for the Women’s Championship. We are then graced by the presence of Divas from all three brands (All entering to Eve’s music.. I guess because it’s the most generic?), and it’s easy to figure out who’s the challenger by eliminating each Diva that walks down the ramp in her awkward street clothes. Next through the curtains is Melina, and as she makes her way to the ring they cut to a quick shot of Maria. I suppose that will suffice for this week’s storyline advancement? I absolutely loved Natalya’s reaction to Melina’s entrance, like she was appalled. Kinda cute. Michelle is the last one out.
They start with a tie-up, and Michelle quickly uses her knee brace to take Melina down, planting it into her gut. She attempts a pin, but no luck. She pulls Melina to her feet, pummeling her into the ropes and then dragging her back to the middle by her hair. A shot to the spine later, she attempts to whip Melina into the ropes, but she reverses it, stopping her momentum and nailing Michelle in the face. She hoists herself onto the ropes and perform her patented leg attack, choking Michelle. She attempts to finish it off with a chop to the head, but Michelle pushes her up and over the ropes. Melina lands on the apron, fighting Michelle through the ropes.
Michelle reaches for a jab but Melina splits–literally–by landing in a split on the apron and then nailing her with a shot to the stomach. Michelle responds with a dropkick, sending Melina out into the Lumberjack’s domain. Thankfully, she landed on the “good girl” side, because all they want to do is help her to her feet. Michelle sees this and brings Melina into the ring herself. Michelle continues with her attack, kicking Melina and pounding her face into the mat. A few uppercuts, and Michelle attempts another whip, but Melina reverses it again, using this momentum to go on offense.
A few strikes later, she plants Michelle with a flapjack, going for the pin. The ref counts to two, and meanwhile I wonder how absurd it would be for a Diva to win the Women’s Championship with a flapjack. She gets the champ to her feet, but Michelle kicks her, whipping her into the ropes. On the return, Melina meets her with a kick of her own, then striking her in the head and dropping her to the mat. She goes for the ropes again, but she overestimated the kindness of strangers, venturing by the “bad girl” side. And sure enough, Jillian grabs her leg, distracting her.
This week on the ever-so-inaptly-named program we’ve come to know as Impact, we saw two Playboy bunnies stink up the six-sided ring, a Knockouts title match, and the debut of TNA’s newest Knockout entity.
First Knockouts match on the card: Christy Hemme vs. Traci Brooks in a Playboy something-something match. I have no idea why Christy is dressed up as a Chippendale dancer, but the ever so bodacious Traci forces her against the ropes and into a pin attempt. Christy kicks out at 2, and Traci follows up with a mat slam. Traci follows Christy into the corner, but receives a boot to the face. Christy lands a charging 180 spinning facebuster. Christy delivers an axe kick to the back of Traci’s head, but Traci kicks out as well. Christy attempts the FFG, but the only thing catching her firecrotch is the unforgiving canvas. Traci covers Christy which results in a nearfall. A stinging chop to the tatas later… Traci falls into a Sunset Flip pin and Christy Hemme picks up the win.
Traci blindsights Christy from behind with an uninspired attack. So short, it was almost painless. As gracious as Traci Brooks is, I cannot bring myself to peg this match in a positive light, unfortunately. Not your best, TNA. Simply put, gimmick matches just don’t fit in with the M.O. of the Knockouts division. This Playboy exhibition was moreso reminiscent of WWE pre-2008. It just doesn’t seem right to put Christy Hemme over Traci Brooks, although I do realize that either one could do better. Moving on…
