Rumor of the Week: Joy Giovanni To Sign With WWE

Sometimes, I really wonder who comes up with these rumors and how they get around the Internet so fast. Maybe Joy herself WWE did it to spark interest in an otherwise lame match. Anyway, reports are circulating that after last night’s tragic display of a match, Joy Giovanni was offered a contract by the WWE. I’ll … Read more

WWE Grandstanding Over Trish’s Absence at ‘Mania

Word is that WWE is telling people that Trish Stratus wasn’t ‘brought’ to WrestleMania after saying she’d only appear if she won the match. Something sound wrong with that sentence? That’s because that’s the word WWE’s higher ups are spreading, as the official ‘company reason’. In a more likely scenario, Trish may have turned the … Read more

Torrie Has Last Word on TNA

Since Torrie Wilson left the WWE last year, there have been numerous rumours circulating about TNA, specifically, Jeff Jarrett wanting to sign her as their newest Knockout. I’m not sure if TNA got the memo or not, but Torrie’s not exactly in wrestling shape after her string of back problems. But it’s not unlike TNA … Read more

But it looks like injury prone Candice could have a new career … Read more

Looks like Angela Fong may finally be getting her call up to the main roster… as a manager. I don’t know how I feel about this. I would love to see Angela on my screen … Read more

Webmasters were left on guard yesterday, when WWE launched an assault on wrestling – specficially Diva – fansites. The cull is unlike anything the company has done before; it seems … Read more

G4TV’s Top 10 Divas… Photoshoots

G4TV.com recently released their choices for the top 10 Divas of the WWE. Now, before you jump into this list, don’t make the same mistake I did and assume this was a top 10 list based on wrestling skills, which WWE.com’s headline caused me to believe. This list is based on the Divas’ photoshoots and … Read more

You’ve seen the ridiculous promo video, but now we’ve got some more info on the new all-women’s wrestling promotion known as Wrestlicious – and no, that’s not a porno title, though I’m sure it would blend in well with Cinemax’s late night lineup. Lilian Garcia For Miss WrestleMania Contest?

In a slightly weird-but-wonderful twist, it looks like Lilian Garcia may find her in contention for the ‘Miss WrestleMania’ title. Yes, WWE management is contemplating putting the veteran ring announcer in the match as “a rib”, according to the Wrestling Globe Newsletter. I say weird-but-wonderful, because in a sense Lilian’s involvement would be fitting. If … Read more

Hold Your Horses: ECW Divas Night Back On?

Now, it’s understandable if at this point you’ve got whiplash, what with the fate of the now-infamous ECW all-Divas special flip flopping back and forth faster than a Olympic ping pong match. However, it looks like it still may happen – just not tonight (obviously, unless they hop into the Delorean). WWE.com has footage exclusive … Read more

Vince Behind Divas Night Axe?

Last week we all rejoiced at the announcement of an all-Divas special of ECW tonight. Lats night, our hopes were dashed as the show was taped without nary a mention of the proposed Divas special. New Knockout Already Has Chip on Her Shoulder

She’s only been in the business a few weeks and she’s already acting like a diva (no pun intended)! New TNA Knockout, Jenna Morasca has taken to her MySpace (what else!) with a rant on wrestling fans who have badmouthed her joining TNA. I guess that would apply to us too?

While the whole blog is just a fascinating read (check it out after the cut), here is my favourite part:

I know some people say “mockery” are you talking about wrestling!? Yes I know sometime the storylines in wrestling get little cheesy but that does not take away the sheer athleticism of the people involved. So finally once and for all I took the job because I enjoy wrestling, have major respect for everyone involved, was excited to try something new, and can’t WAIT to get in the ring! So all the haters- suck on that…

What I particularly love here is the creative license taken to paint herself with the same brush as the actual wrestlers. You know… the ones that have trained for years. Worked up through the independents.

Jenna: You’re not Trish Stratus, hell you ain’t even fit to lick Maria’s boots. Once you’ve been in the business for as long as they have, you can start complaining. Whiny diva antics may make good reality television, but you won’t last long in the wrestling business.

PS: Threatening bodyslams? Oh noes! The ‘wrestler’ who can’t wrestle is gonna bodyslam me!

Breaking: Divas Night Might Be Scrapped!

Although last week’s ECW on SciFi featured a backstage segment with GM Teddy Long and assistant Tiffany where it was announced that this week’s ECW would be dedicated to the Divas, it seems as though this has been cancelled! Jacqueline’s 12 Year Career Comes to End

Sad news on the Knockout front: TNA is fading Jacqueline away from an onscreen role, ending her 12 year career in the major leagues of wrestling.

Since 1997, Jacqueline has managed to stay in the forefront of America’s biggest promotions – from WCW to WWE to TNA. Her shocking longevity only struck me a few days ago, admist speculation as to why she wasn’t present at the Destination X pay per view last Sunday. It’s true to say that Jacqueline’s run is unprecedented considering the average length of a female wrestler’s career.

Not to panic though! Jacqueline hasn’t been fired. As TNA moves her away from television, she will take up the role of agent for the Knockouts division, keeping her in the fold of the company and women’s wrestling for years to come hopefully.

Jacqueline is a former two time Women’s Champion as well as Cruiserweight Champion. Her first Women’s Championship reign ushered in the Women’s Championship that we know today, currently held by Melina.

May I take this time to congratulate Jackie on her amazing career, she truly deserves a round of applause.

In a tribute to her career, we’ll be counting down Jacqueline’s top five matches as voted for by you. Details after the cut.
