30 Influential LGBTQ Wrestlers, June 27 Thru June 30

As June comes to an end, here we are wrapping up pride month and what better way to end it with four final members of the LGBTQ family! Below you will see the full list for the month including the final four names! I hope everyone has enjoyed this, and I wish the best for our community all year long!

June 27 – Nixon Newell

Nixon Newell, formerly Tegan Nox in WWE, is an openly lesbian wrestler who came out in 2020. She wrestled for WWE during two runs from 2017-2021 and from 2022 to 2024. She has been wrestling since 2013. Since her last stint with WWE, Newell has appeared for the UK indie scene including ATTACK! Wrestling.

June 28 – Abadon

Abadon is a non-binary wrestler who was signed with AEW/ROH and is now a free agent. Abadon goes by they/them pronouns. They wrestled for AEW from 2020 until 2025 and debuted in 2019. Abadon discussed their departure from AEW as sad but determined to continue with wrestling moving forward. They have had one match so far since AEW against Maki Itoh at a Lucha Libre and Laughs event.

June 29 – Dark Sheik

Dark Sheik is 20 plus year veteran. She is of Iranian descent born in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a transgender woman who came out as such in 2019 at a Hoodslam show. She is most known for her time with the GCW promotion and being the founder of the Hoodslam promotion in Oakland, California.

June 30 – Edith Surreal

Edith Surreal debuted in wrestling in 2018 and went under the name Still Life with Apricots and Pears until 2021. She is a transgender woman in 2020 and previously identified as non-binary using she/her pronouns.

Surreal has wrestled in Beyond Wrestling, Chikara and GCW among many other indie promotions. She was born in Pennsylvania and often has done shows among her home state and New Jersey. She has shared the ring with such names as KiLynn King, Willow Nightingale, Killer Kelly, Trish Adora, and Jamie Senegal. In 2024, Surreal announced a hiatus as she has stepped away from the ring due to injury.
